Only real “down” year, that being making it to the semi finals, was 2019. And in 2018 KT was the consensus second best team behind IG. How does that qualify for a fallen region? EU since like the second season has never won a worlds championship and NA... well... let’s not talk about that. This title is so misleading it’s crazy. This would be more aptly titled the return of the king or something.

@@hazzsin3579 I disagree with you there, while MAD did lose to Wildcards that doesn't mean that they're bad. Supermassive was a serious threat in group stage, they were one of the best team in groups and you could see how good MAD was aswell, especially Humanoid. Humanoid took soo many bans but still was a force to be reckoned with. Also T1 kinda did deserve 4th place, I'm glad they didn't make it to Worlds this year. The teamwork was pretty much not there at times but I agree with you that LCK is extremely competitive. I mean all the Top 4/5 teams are pretty competitive but it's just that you don't see how good they are because of how balanced it is. (The Top 5 vs each other I mean, Top 5 vs rest is just not even a match)
@@olsenfernandes3634 Except no wildcard team won a game in group stage. I doubt T1 lose and come 4th in playins. The point is to demonstrate how much more depth of talent lck has compared to lec. MAD didnt look good at all outside of humanoid. Hell, wildcard teams looked very bad considering how poor the meta was in playins. The teams barely knew how to setup the map properly and defaulted to 5v5 arams. Its why Oorn was so op in playins, and lost priority in group stage. In comparison, group stage and beyond was about split pushers like camille and jax, and not about aramming around drake.

EU gets all 3 teams into quarters 1 year they think they are hot shit. While Korea failed to get all 3 teams out just 1 year and have teams with more worlds titles then literally every other region, yeah can NA be the next fallen region if that is what we are defining it as.
At least 2 Koreans has won worlds since 2013. All Koreans in 2013, 2014, 2015 2016, 2017, and 2020. Rookie, TheShy, Duke, Coach Kim in 2018. DoinB, Gimgoon in 2019.
4:54 it wasn't all of a sudden. Most of the LCK teams who participated in Mid Season Cup (event tournament that replaced MSI) learned a lot from LPL teams and improved themselves. The Koreans call it a $70k lesson (the winning prize was $70k).

Ah man, you left in the clip of Atlus calling Damwon "the Darlings of Rift Rivals," but you didn't talk about rift rivals at all. I mean, that was the first big step for restoring the LCK in my opinion and it was that game that made me a fan of theirs.
Make no mistake, Damwon Gaming is in a league apart from the rest. Although Damwon Gaming won, it has never meant that the region as a whole is back in its glory. Hoping for 2021 to be the proof that the LCK is back again.
This video was really good, especially for a Damwon fan like me who has been watching them since they started in LCK. So sad to hear now that Nuguri is leaving and Khan is taking his place, this team was so good :(
Breaks my heart they are splitting up man, they were so amazing together and I was really hoping they would be the next Korean Dynasty. Unfortunately DWG was not able to retain them all, and it's probably more that they couldn't afford too more than anything else.
Tbh theres 2 nuguri back in 2020 DWG. Nuguri him self in the top and BeryL the DWG Sp. Yeah, its sad to see after they wins the world Nuguri and DWG Coach decide to part away from DWG. If i i can pick whos the suitable top laner for DWG/DK 2021 rn after Nuguri leave is Former SKT T1 Khan. I think theres no other Top laner that can adapt to DK playstyle rather than the experiented player like Khan. Luckly DK get Kkoma. Kkoma love building roster according to Experiented player along the Korea. Really different with T1 coach Kin whos love to produce young player.
we all know that DWG will fall under the forgotten world champions, like IG and FNC. when you think worlds you dont think DWG you think SKT or TA. 2 teams that are remembered for winning worlds like the SSG vs SKT or G2 vs FPX we know these games because of their rivals. we need to acknowledge that this team is the greek yogurt of world winners. they are just the team that is good, nothing else.
People who thought korea is place 3 region are just delusional... Watching LCK rise again felt so incredibly great with a team that dont deserve any less - I cant even describe it
Most people think like that because they only see the international preformence (aka only the top teams) as the region overall preformence. It is true that at s8 and 9 EU top 2 team were better then LCK but the rest of EU wasn't even close to LCK lvl. EU is a 2 team region only and people tend forget that.

Doesn't that just mean that you aren't skilled enough? Lmao
The day when they took Ghost, i know they will won world because Ghost so hype in 2019 in Sandbox. He's such consistent Adc player and im proud of him. When they won world, that's the happiest day of my life.

@@matthewmacabeo7677 Crown, I assume. SSG's midlaner in 2016.
Showmaker wanted blood. This Worlds was about who wanted it more. Which is why it was Damwon and Suning, SwordArt and HaungFeng wanted it so bad. But Showmaker was furious, and Nuguri knew it was his; Worlds was just an invitation for the rest of the orgs to recognise this fact. I feel good about HF, I hope he gets a good team for next season in the LPL, I think we will see him next Worlds going for the cup. Let's go Season 11!
No one gonna comment on how BeryL is running on "Waifu Buff" and wants Leona skin based on Saren Sasaki of Princess Connect Re:Dive?
you forget to mention that in the grudge match there was so many reasons for it, some of them being korean fanbase after the loss to G2 the year prior and the amount of disrespect they recieved from fans from both EU and KR, as well as beating SKT and having to restore glory etc.
*harry plays calmly*
DAMWOON GAAMING!!!
LPL was getting carried by Koreans those 2 years. IG was Rookie and TheShy hard carrying with Ning servicing their lanes like a flight attendant and FPX was built around DoinB. Korea is the dominant reagion still because their influence is felt beyond the LCK
And also there top lane
damn REMEMBER THAT TIME WHEN YOU SEE PEOPLE WATCHING A GAME ON STAGE?? ,,, FEEL OLD YET?
that nuguri surgery is giving me flashback with c9 hai
I m actually a Damwon fan before they joined the LCK because of ShowMaker katarina. So i pretty much knows what they been through. I was hoping u guys will made this video. Good Job and keep it up
i dont know how you do it but the titles just keep getting more epic

Michael Reeves does have asian ethnicity though. I'm pretty sure he is half Filipino or something.
@@RikuHarada6996 which is why I said East-Asian. MR is only half asian

Sad to see that Nuguri will most likely go to the LPL this 2021. Dongha already signed to DWG. And T1 promoted Zeus to the main roster while canna signed and extended contract.
And then showmaker died yesterday in worlds finals against EDG 3-2
Yes EDG's Jeijei saved their whole team by stealing monsters every time, making Canyon useless
The pro players in this years Worlds will definitely be legendary in the years to come even their names are cool.... Showmaker, Bin, Knight, Ghost, Canyon, SwordArt even Angel... definitely enjoyed the hype, Thank you for the amazing worlds videos @theScore esports

LCK: Fallen Region
NA: Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power.
Finally, i've been waiting for this
You did not mention how the sudden change on damwon was likely due to the stomps lck got in mid season cup from lpl, they adapted so good
I was looking for someone to point that out.
@@olsenfernandes3634 dude they scrim chinese teams all the time korea underperformed that tournament and the bo1 single round robin fucked t1 who was clearly the best korean team
@@oussamarezzouk9869... Did you even watch a single LCK match this Summer? Did you even watch Worlds this year?
If you did, why the hell are you trying to troll me?
Yup. They are the only team embrace the LPL playstyle and stomped the original creator of the playstyle. Get it?
Can we get an episode on the disappointment that was the Chinese crowd at worlds 2020?
Only real “down” year, that being making it to the semi finals, was 2019. And in 2018 KT was the consensus second best team behind IG. How does that qualify for a fallen region? EU since like the second season has never won a worlds championship and NA... well... let’s not talk about that. This title is so misleading it’s crazy. This would be more aptly titled the return of the king or something.
Its funny. Western fanbois complain that eastern teams and players get overrated. Western regions have a total of 1 msi trophy from 9 years of league of legends! Europe managed to win s1 championship (wasnt called worlds) when the asian teams werent even competing.
@@hazzsin3579 Its funny when they say like: "Its only Damwon that we're good, rest are still bad"
Like bro, you only have 2 teams to contend finals with, Korea had all its seeds in the Top 8 and you still say that BS.
(Totally unrelated but Fanatic looked spicy vs Top even though they didn't win)
@@olsenfernandes3634 Dude, you can tell how shallow THE WEST is when the team that was 1st for most of the season, MAD lions, literally was worse than wildcard regions. MAD almost came 5th in playins groups, and ended up 4th after a bo5.
You know who LCK's 4th team was -- T1. Lpl's 4th was IG/FPX. World champs.
But no... its LCK that is the 1 team region lul.
This is the first youtube video I've ever seen with a GEICO SPONSOR 😂
Rewatching this again cause of Nuguri,'s retirement. I will def miss him :((

EU gets all 3 teams into quarters 1 year they think they are hot shit. While Korea failed to get all 3 teams out just 1 year and have teams with more worlds titles then literally every other region, yeah can NA be the next fallen region if that is what we are defining it as.
When EU got all their 3teams in knockout round, LCK also got all 3teams in and as 1seed in knockout stage.
Cant be a fallen region if you never been at the top lol 😂
At least 2 Koreans has won worlds since 2013. All Koreans in 2013, 2014, 2015 2016, 2017, and 2020. Rookie, TheShy, Duke, Coach Kim in 2018. DoinB, Gimgoon in 2019.
Showmaker watch Faker's Crying afterwards the Fall of 2017.
Showmaker 2021: *NOW I AM FEEL THAT.*
4:54 it wasn't all of a sudden. Most of the LCK teams who participated in Mid Season Cup (event tournament that replaced MSI) learned a lot from LPL teams and improved themselves. The Koreans call it a $70k lesson (the winning prize was $70k).
lmao showmaker just wanted to end every game fast cause he needs to go home early if that's not asian enough for you i don't know what is
Showmaker's parents: "be home by 9 or you're grounded"
showmaker: "speedruns the regular season"

Ah man, you left in the clip of Atlus calling Damwon "the Darlings of Rift Rivals," but you didn't talk about rift rivals at all. I mean, that was the first big step for restoring the LCK in my opinion and it was that game that made me a fan of theirs.

Make no mistake, Damwon Gaming is in a league apart from the rest. Although Damwon Gaming won, it has never meant that the region as a whole is back in its glory. Hoping for 2021 to be the proof that the LCK is back again.
Pretty much back in the glory. LPL is just korean vacation home. LCS is nothing to talk about of. and LEC basically just one super team.

That’s not what the word fallen means but ok
After winning world's league now is DAMWON > EVERY REGION
it always was Danwon > China > G2 > Fnatic > LCK > EU
Can't keep up with LoL but this story is so well told, I am in tears.
Damwon and Suning had the same dream, still the better team wins. Loving both stories of Suning and Damwon.

Congrats to Damwon gaming for their dominate wins at worlds... but honestly this video gets me more hyped for TI10.
damwon double Silvers now.
we all know that DWG will fall under the forgotten world champions, like IG and FNC. when you think worlds you dont think DWG you think SKT or TA.
LCK dominance is back bb
