And yet, victory escaped him time and time again.
Worlds 2021 was Khan’s last chance to find glory before retirement - his story would either end in triumph, or tragedy.
But no matter how it ended, Khan became a legend.

Khan's biggest legacy is bringing some levity to a region that does tend to take itself too seriously and setting a precedent for smiles and laughter where there used to be only blame and apology. Any long time LCK viewers would know what a breath of fresh air it was.

Khan inspired me to play top, then i realized how hard top lane is and it just made me respect him even more.
Top is the most brain damaging lane yes. We suffer alone on an island of unplayable counterpick matchups and bullshit enemy junglers, but the hardships only make us stronger....although dumber.

Even so, he is one of the few players who managed to go toe-to-toe against Faker and that alone is something worth remembering for. One of the best top laners ever along with TheShy, Smeb and MaRin.
Khan, is one of the best. Not just in his skill. But In his attitude. Bless him and I hope he comes back
He always swapped to the best team that he could've switched too, from LZ that dominated the lck, winning both splits, to skt, to fpx, to dk. Just one international trophy for him would've been the least he deserves
No lz didnt win spring 2017, longzhu only won summer 2017 after khan and bdd joined them, he won spring in 2018 after lz rebranded to kingzone

Wish Khan the best. Got back into League and LoL esports in 2019 with Khan in SKT. Feels bad that Khan wasn't able to win an international title but, he's the definitely one of the best.

I swear, being a pro league player during 2017-2019 is scary, the fact that those worlds were so one sided just goes to show they knew the meta and snowballed to it.
Or the true finals happened early sometimes. 2019, fpx and ig were clearly the two best teams in the ko stage. 2018 KT and IG were by far the two best teams in the competition, just got drawn the unlucky straw.

Before The Shy, there was Khan! I still can’t forget the first time I ever discovered him on his run with Longzhu, and his crazy numerous outplays. Forever one of the greats! 🙏🏽

Khan lost in the 2017 worlds because of a terrible ardent censer change. Khan is my league hero. I even adapted to his max activity play style and got diamond in 1 month. When he lost to edg I was there to witness it. It was heartbreaking and I just broke down on the spot. I hope he can comeback to league professionally or stream.
Next to TheShy, Khan is the one you'd immediately notice in terms of toplane plays and dominance.

I loved Khan when he played carry top laners in DragonX. But when he was on SKT the tank meta just isn't for him. It was an absolute flop.
He Khan win against everyone in top lane but expect the unexpected. He Khan't win worlds but what truly matters he's unstoppable for being a toplaner.
I remember when khan was hosting a Mundo dodge ball with his viewers when he was still on SKT, if you beat him he'll send you $20 (if I remember correctly). He stomped most of the competition except on one where he was fighting a silver player and he's about to lose so he crossed the line and auto attacked his opponent to death (which is illegal). He said sorry he can't lose to silver but I hope he still send the dude the money 😂
come think of it, Khan and Crown had the exact opposite career endings
though Khan retired as an uncrowned king, one step short every single time, he still keeps smiling
while Crown, despite winning Worlds and ending SKT dynasty, lost his meaning of happiness

Sometimes them who worked hard and was right to win just don't get the break they deserved, STILL! people remember Khan for how good a player and personality he was , not the fact he "was the best guy to never win worlds" . Its not like everyone who has seen this guy play doesn't know he was clearly good enough to win just had bad luck on how the games turned out.

Khan's one of the best to ever do it, actually. To win a world title sometimes you must rely on outside factors, such as pressure, anxiety, amongst many others. The lack of world title won't be a stain in his brilliant career. I mean, to beat faker in a LCK finals and to be the second biggest winner of the LCK are facts that speak alone

Faker is 25 years old, 1996, Khan is 26 years old, 1995
Faker is not exempted from military service afaik. But people with great contributions to promoting Korean culture have always been allowed to delay their service until they are in their 30s.
Athletes (esports included) who win gold in Asian games or the Olympics have a high possibility of military service exemption.
