Just want to say thank you for the great video. I have watched a lot of trigger installs but this is one of the best. And I'm not even done with it yet!
Just installed on my Shadow 2 with an ultimate trigger. Stock DA of 9 lbs was reduced to 5.5 lbs and SA reduced from 3.5 lbs to 1.3 lbs. Ultimate trigger did not need the pre-travel screw. Very impressed so far.
@@dmitrieemann tested my upgrade Shadow 2 today. Tested with multiple ammo types. Worked flawlessly. Very satisfied Canadian customer. Looking forward to my upcoming IPSC match.
Great video! Followed the instructions, however I had too many firing failures. So, I put back the original hammer spring, firing pin and spring. Now it works. Trigger creeps a bit (2mm)... Ergo: if you just change the disconnector it works ok. The trigger spring can be kept as a replacement part...
I just installed on my brand new (2 weeks old/200 round count) Shadow 2. Stock DA was well over 9 lbs on the Wheeler trigger scale (it only goes to 9 lbs max on the calibration), I had to use a luggage scale & got 10.4 lbs. Stock SA was 3.4 lbs. After install it now measures 6.4 lbs on DA & 2.4 lbs on SA. I am very happy, I can't wait to go to the range :) My only concern is the longer firing ping is 2.517 vs my stock that measures 2.463. It might light up the round while slowly dropping the hammer after the load and make ready and lead to a DQ. None of my CGW firings pins exceeded 2.5. I will wait to see tomorrow when I go to the range.
Thank you, well detailed video, as well as a great kit. Installation took around an hour for a first timer (had no special tools and don't see them as extremely necessary). Packing it all up and straightaway to the range. :)
I can’t wait to hear the upgrades for the new shadow 2 compact. I’m assuming trigger and sear springs are the same as the shadow 2? The rest should be olmaga or sp01 stuff. I know the shadow 2 compact comes with a captured recoil spring which I definitely want to change to uncaptured.
Awesome video! I installed the kit today! Never done anything similar before.. I'm getting quite a few SA light strikes though (approx 1 in 10). I see the hammer spring is 8lbs. Do you suggest I get a 10lbs one? Primers are well seated and I tried both Muron and S&B primers. Gun only has about 500 rounds through it.
Hi, I installed the kit & my Shadow 2 was working nicely when using Winchester ammo. I tried using Sellier & Bellot ammo & I'm getting random hammer following, usually after the 1st or 2nd round. I tried adjusting the trigger travel but the issue still happens. Could it be the eeman tech sear spring or the disconnector ? Your help & advice would be much appreciated.
Hi, I bought your upgrade kit for my Shadow 2. It works good, however I have one slight issue. I expected that SA trigger would be crisp 1911 style. But even with your upgrade, when I pull the trigger it has two walls. Is it ok and I just expect too much or it just requires some additional fitting? Please, let me know if it can be fitted to get crisp SA and if yes, then could you please point me to the instruction how to do it?
Hey there, the Trigger Pin is moving to one side of if I use the trigger. Do I have to degrease it or maybe loctite is the solution? Another issue after the first match is that the hammer isnt moving all way back to its rest position.
Hi! I'm just bought this set and put it in a new Shadow2OR.. Everything vent well until I bring the slide on it, then the trigger doesn't work, the hammer don't fall and whole system stopped... 😢 Any advise?
i was curious on how you can tell what weight your main springs are? i bought a 9 and a 10, they look exactly the same and they both feel heavier than the stock main spring.
I just installed this and now I'm having trouble with the trigger. I'm unable to dry fire the pistol. The trigger and safety was working fine during reassemble when I checked it. The issue started as soon as the upper was added. The issue appears more problematic with single action. At times, 1 out of 20 I can get it to dry fire single action. From that point I can normally dry fire double action without an issue. I've noticed I can sometime dry fire single action by pulling the trigger back beyond the cocked hammer point. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I should also mention I'm using the eeman tech straight DA/SA flat trigger. It has been installed for a couple of weeks and has been firing at the range without issue.
That’s quite normal with standard ammo. If you upgrade your springs to lighter ones, you normally end up reloading your own ammo to suit your new gun needs
scusami ho smontato la mia shadow 2 seguendo il tuo video ed è andato tutto ok, quando ho messo il carrello con la canna e l'asta guida molla, il carrello non arriva fino alla fine perchè? Arriva dopo la metà
It is legal to change your springs BUT based on the single action results (2.11 lbs) this kit may not be legal, no? For Production, isn’t the minimum trigger pull 1.36kg (3lbs)?
@@IgorRguez The pull should be EITHER 3lbs at BOTH single and double action, OR 5lbs at double action. With the latter, there is no minimum trigger pull in single action. As long as your double action is 5lbs+ you're good to go 🙂 This is as per "IPSC Handgun Competition Rules - Jan 2019 Edition - Final 30 Dec 2018 (New address)"
The pin holding the disconnector to the hammer, Ive legit Ruined 2 separate punch pin sets trying to whack that factory pin out. im stuck with my install until i can get it out. ive got a punch block and everything it just legit Will not fucking move. any advice?
I think a stock gun designed for production competition/entry level users is probably designed to shoot off the shelf ammo. Harder primers. If you read down they talk about light strikes and reloading or buying competition specific ammo with softer primers. Heavier springs are more reliable to function. This tuning seems like its for advanced shooters, ready to take those extra steps.

Did shorten the reset or do anything to the slight creep after the wall
@@saudalblaihed3925 once you set the set screws there is minimal initial and over travel.

Hey, did the range trip confirm your suspicions regarding the longer firing pin theory?
@@tinpea After many club and IPSC matches later, I am very happy to say it has never been an issue. DVC
OH! SO easy! Having tried some of this on other CZs, it isn't this easy the first time.
Once you've done it once or twice it does get easier
I just purchased this exact kit can't wait to receive it so i can install it and give it a run !!!!
Just installed it and really excited to test. I let you know.
Was pretty easy to install! Greets....
thank you very much! good luck!!
I am very satisfied with this kit!
Installing wasn't a big deal with 4 hands.
I love your videos, they are extremely detailed and informative.

Great video, I built the kit into my Shadow 2 OR. SA from approx. 1500g to 1200g. Creeping has gotten better too.
Excellent video Paul. Just did mine and this helped heaps.

But why would I want to change the main spring?
Really nice. Keep it up Sir

Great video as usual!
However after install the upgrade kit, sometimes I will have light strike issue, is it because the main spring too light????
yes, on some pistols you need to try heavier main spring
Or change ammo if possible with softer primers.

I'm having this issues too. Which one would you recommend?
@@StephanBieker depends on primers and type of reloading. Try to use next step power main spring 9 lbs
Where did you get that bullet punch from?

Will this work basically the same for SP-01 upgrade kit?
Loved this but could only find bid for main spring of SP-01. Ty

Dead trigger. The disconnector needs a little filing down where it hooks into trigger bar. Common issue when changing out disconnector.
Does it work as well for SP01 Shadow?
Paul thank you so much, just completed my shadow 2 upgrade kit just have to wait till you guys get in the barrel :)
Is there a kit for shadow 2 Single action only?
Where did you get the bullet punch from?
I can’t find one on Maui
Won’t this just cause misfires. I like the reliability of the gun but would enjoy a lighter da pull.
Can you still install the sear spring without the tool?
Can you please help me, I’m having problems installing the sear cage in and the safety will not line up
when you trying to install safety, if its not fit till the end, just push on left detent to rear side and safety will seat on the place...

It's 10lbs in double action. Single action is 3-4lbs
if only all guns had 1 pound trigger and no more than 2.
