Pro Hunter Swaging Hollow Point Slugs 0.177 13gr - Range Testing - 9 Jun 2021 Weihrauch HW100

I finally got to the range and was able to test the Pro Hunter Swaging light weight 13gr 0.177 hollow point slugs from my sub-12 ftlb Weihrauch HW100.
The first problem I encountered was that after 15 months without much shooting I am very rusty so I am sure that tighter groups would be possible in more capable hands. However, the chronograph was showing only just over 10ftlb muzzle energy for these slugs from this particular gun. Earlier that day this gun had produced just under 12ftlb using my usual JSB Exact 8.44 grn.
I did not go any further with the testing because the low muzzle energy outweighed any retained energy gains down range. I am glad that I tried out these slugs but sadly they do not offer me any real advantage in my sub-12 ftlb HW100. However, all guns / barrels differ and other sub-12 guns may well produce higher muzzle energy. So I would still recommend trying these slugs if you are curious about the potential benefits that slugs can offer such as higher retained energy downrange and the ability to buck the wind better than diablo pellets.
As I stated in my table top review of these slugs - • Hollow Point 0.177 Slu... - they are beautifully hand made and I am confident that they will perform particularly well in an FAC rifle.

I have a airventuri avenger. 177 caliber, she loved a 13.43 gr pellets and slugs then 10.5gr.

Hi Valmir, Glad to hear that the Avenger is performing well. These slugs should suit your Avenger if you can obtain them because it has sufficient muzzle energy to do these beautiful quality slugs justice.
