Hi Brendon, I enjoyed your presentation. An excellent pre-‘Slide It In’ history. I have this box set and I appreciate the inclusion of new mix. I wouldn’t say the UK mix sounded ‘flat’ but clearly for American ears the U.S mix payed dividends. I tend to flit between UK & US mixes. It was great to finally get the earlier Eddie Kramer mixes of ‘Guilty Of Love’ & ‘Gambler’ on CD. Having an excellent live recording brief line up of Galley,Powell & Sykes, was appreciated.
Yes I’m very grateful for all that the channel has achieved because of you the subscriber. Thank you for being a part of it. It’s been an amazing ride so far!
I was at the Glasgow show and a great night it was.Still got my ticket stub and programme.Worth getting just for the live recording as I lost the cassette I recorded off Radio Clyde our local station, they often recorded the live shows from the Glasgow Apollo for their Friday night Rock show. All the best to you and your channel.
I well remember recording live shows off the radio that were broadcast. For years I had a live recording from Guns N’Roses that I wore out from so many listenings. Glad you’re enjoy my channel’s content and thanks for the support. As a heads up, tomorrow morning I’ll be posting a review for the new Whitesnake release called The Rock Album. It’s good stuff!
The book that comes with that box looks awesome as well as the poster. What I got for the 35th anniversary was the vinyl version which includes both the UK and the US mix but basically just that, the box set here is way nicer!!! Great video, greetings from Monterrey Mexico 🤘🏻
Great video Brendon after watching your Video i just realised im missing Saints and Sinners must order that to complete the collection i love their live cds as well thanks again for showing keep rockin and collecting stay safe
Thankxxxx for another great video...i am also a big boxsets fan...and this one from Whitesnake is a must have...great band ...seen them a couple of times live in the Netherlands ...fantastic...:)
I can’t get enough of these anniversary boxsets that collect together rare material, add new remixes and bonus memorabilia too! I saw Whitesnake for the first time on the Purple Tour a few years ago. Class act all the way!
Nice box. One of my favourite albums. Bought the Lp on release date and many years later the Cd. That was a shock because it was the US mix and it sounds horrible and the re-recorded solo of the titletrack is terrible. But this box is cool because the original mix is in it. The 2019 remix is ok. Not as good as the original european mix but better than the US version. All in all Whitesnake does a good job if it comes to re-releases. The box of the snakes with the early albums is great.
Terrible is such a strong word. Do you prefer the original line-up and pre 1984 sound of the band? I grew up with the band in the 80’s and love the John Sykes version of Slide It In over the original recording. But you’re right these boxsets do it up right. And I’m glad to have both mixes of the album too.
@@BrendonSnyder It is such a difficult question if I prefer the Whitesnake prior 1984. Let me say it this way. I prefer the original european mix of Slide it in because it is a perfect 10 out of 10. Come and get it was my first of their albums as a little kid and it is great. So is Saints and sinners and Live in the heart of the city. But I' m a ( silly word) US hairmetal fanatic too. Besides the feelingless re-recording of Here I go again this is a fantastic album. Slip of the tongue is great. On the slip of the tongue tour Coverdale sadly destroyed his voice with the constantly off key screaming. Years later he came bach with this fine little bluesy hardrock album Restless heart. Cool album and the tour to promote this Cd maybe was my favourite Whitesnake tour. Back to powerfull bluesy hardrock but they did not forget tracks like Still of the night. It was great to have them back in 3000 seaters with a very good sound. The last album is still a good album. So what version of the band do i prefer? I don't know. One thing is clear. If they tour europe they play the songs less heavy metal, a little more mellow and bluesy. So maybe the european and american fans are really different. Love the band!
Brendon Snyder a truly irrational investment. I already own two versions and have to admit I often stream these gems - but we simply can’t underestimate the greatness of such a booklet and packeting✌🏻
Haha...you are just like me! I’ve got 3 versions of Slide It In but still had to get the boxset, yes for the rare demos and new mixes, but mostly because I wanted that tour book!! I love music memorabilia, can’t get enough of it. Tomorrow, I’m posting the 1987 boxset.
I always say to myself how in the hell didnt a Whitesnake-Def Leppard world tour take place from 1987 through 1988. The two were juggernauts at the time and wouldve been an epic tour together. We can talk about the currents tours that were gonna take place but let's be honest it's not the same as it would be in the 80s
@@BrendonSnyder yes I can see that. I guess part of the marketing behind that would be why not have more tickets sold by having 2 separate concert tours than 1 concert tour with 2 bands everybody wants to see. But remember there were tours going on like that in those days as well. Like the Monsters of Rock tour, having lineups such as Metallica, Dio, Deep Purple, Van Halen, Scorpions, etc. So I dont know lol
Yeah the 1990 Monsters Of Rock has Whitesnake headlining and Aerosmith opening before them. Crazy! But that’s how big they were at the time. Def Leppard have partnered with Kiss, Motley Crue, Poison, and Bryan Adams so they certainly could pair with Whitesnake. What a show that would be!
@@BrendonSnyder yes for sure. Theres a rare video clip on RUclips of Vivian Campbell playing with whitesnake around the mid 80s I think during a concert. Good stuff
Coverdale was accused to reform dp through W,,,,that was from a journalist named Wall, I mean its giving a lot of power to a clown here by mentioning it buddy, lol Bands exchanging members or keeping in touch with former members to form new bands has been around like forever and not only in that case here. Its just show how much power medias have. One guy only can put data in our mind that will remain forever. Me also sometimes at home listening to music, looking at my collection, meditating on memories I would get these media craps kicking bacxk, like the band Kingdom Come being called Kingdom Clowns-1987 by a frustrated journalist that thought only Led Zeppelin was allowed to use the basic blues and pentatonic scale to write songs,,,yes great songs!! but blues scale, pentatonic only well others might sound like you.. thx for sharing, love these older videos.
I was at that gig in Glasgow. It was superb. Great line up. Cozy s drums echoed round my head for days after it. 😵💫
Love this review mate, now going to buy this box set ..
Cool! I’m glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful! Enjoy your boxset when it arrives!!

Great video Brendon after watching your Video i just realised im missing Saints and Sinners must order that to complete the collection i love their live cds as well thanks again for showing keep rockin and collecting stay safe
Oh yeah, jump on that. Saints & Sinners is one of their best especially since it has the original versions of Here I Go Again and Crying In The Rain.

Excellent video.....
Could you tell me if the DVD has any tracks done in 5.1 surround or Dolby Atmos?
No the DVD is video only.
I better buy it. Thanks for the pitch 🙏🏻🎸

I think both bands were too big to pair up. Remember that was the time before huge co-headline tours were the norm. Today they could do it for sure.
