In this week's vlog we are leaving Lofoten behind and heading across to another one of Norway's beautiful archipelagos, Vesterålen. While we are sad to leave the incredible views in Lofoten, we are looking forward to replacing some of the tourist crowds with a more local bunch.
I just hope we brought enough food for them all :)
Oh yeah, and Nicola gets a reminder to check the blinds are up before 'taking care of business'
❤️ Thanks for watching and we will catch up next time.

I love your videos, always makes me smile 😊
Thanks so much for your kind words .. glad you are enjoying them :)
Glad you liked the somewhat talkative and/or pushy locals!
The are some reindeer in Scotland too nowadays. They, like the white tailed sea eagles there, were introduced from Norway. (The eagles some 50 years ago.)
Looking forward to Ann-Dennis...
In Norwegian, the stress is normally on the first syllable. However, may words are comppund words. Then the main stress is kept on the first syllable of each of the words that make up the new word.
The trick is to recognize what they are. Andenes consists of "And" and "nes".
"And" seems to be a "corruption" of an old Norse word, not related to the modern word for "duck" (the bird); and "nes" (same as English ness, cf Caithness), The middle e is there to bind the words together, an is unstressed: And-eh-nes,
If a stressed vowel is followed by one comsonant only (except m at the end), the vowel is long; followed by two it's short.
It was fabulous … we first saw sea eagles in mull …
yes we have been really bad a pronunciations in Norway … especially with some words …
Amazing. We loved Stave and the midnight sun, but couldn’t get on the ferry at Andenes (too many people) so visited Space Andøya and then drove the circuitous land route to Sommarøy out of principle! 😄😄😄
Yes we had heard the ferry can get busy in peak season .. the campsite at stave was indeed wonderful ..
Excellent memory of a really good visit, thank you!! And, you are right, the story of the Sami is fascinating!
Thanks for watching … yes the story was great to hear ..
😂Reindeer Nicola was brilliant- nearly spat my tea out !!!
Hehe … and that’s her with her best table manners … it’s a different story off camera :)
Nicola you make me laugh! Looked like a memorable week!
Hehe … anything that involves wildlife (and food) is always pretty good … thanks so much for watching
Oh my, it's always strange watching myself on live camera...
But wonderful that you had a great experience at the Sami Siida ❣
And so great that you went to Alveland and had the best cinnamon buns in Norway. Isn't my friend, the Portugese girl, the sweeteest? 🥰
And TRUST me, the toilet, NOT many know about the privacy feature ;)
I didn't .... 😜
Fun and memorable meeting you, and looking forward to your next adventure(s) ❣
Er det deg med det lange flotte håret i bakgrunnen med reinsdyra?
Er nok en sjans for det... og takk for komplimentet :) @@frosty6960
