A sad time when you end an adventure but you have lots of good memories... and fans. Wow, those frites looked good [well, maybe not the mayonnaise on top], glad you were able to get the ones you were looking forward to having. Bruges looks beautiful though the crowds of tourists perhaps less so... great movie, if you haven't seen it, and can stand a bit of violence in your cinema, is Im Bruges. Highly recommend it for the acting and the city itself being the co-star to a wonderful bit of movie magic.

I join you in an obsession with exploring a ‘cranny’ Nicola. My husband calls them ‘Dog Shit Alleys’ because of a particularly smelly one I made him explore with me.

Nicola, from one castle lover to another, it's not bad to occasionally see a period correct restoration. So much of the details are lost with time, I actually enjoy both types. For me the worst case is the modernized castles. Looks beautiful there! We'll add it to our bucket list.❤

I believe the water is not too healthy in Estonia.

Don't go there around christmas season. It's literal tourist hell. Every single restaurant, shop and all the streets are completely overcrowded. And I mean overcrowded like you've never seen before. Lines everywhere. No toilets to be found.

They're not bad from Tesco's either😂 but you cant beat the real McCoys Steak flavour😂😂

Of yourse the local Portuguese pastries is good: A huge part of the population of Luxembourg is Portuguese descent, the Portuguese language is kind of the fourth national language after Lietzenburgisch, French and German.

Pastries and cakes can cause a lot of angst in a family. I love carrot cake so it should be an easy decision for what my good lady bakes for my birthday. Hah! One adult son loathes anything with raisins; the other will eat raisins but hates walnuts. In my part of Canada, carrot cake should have both [and a cream icing but both sons will eat that happily]. P.S. It did look like a lovely little "tourist trap", I mean town.

Como and Garda have been on bucket list. Seeing how to do it on budget even more so now.

Wow, some marvelous views on this episode's up-and-down hikes; I know my hips and knee wouldn't allow stuff like that anymore. I can only experience those walks vicariously and envy Nicola those croissants she always seems to eat in most episodes.

There is a bus from Sirmione to Garda. Don't remember how long it takes but definitely less than 5 hours.

Hmm... sure didn't make me want to rush to Lake Garda. Sorry about your boating experience as well; that did not look like fun in the least!

We got the boat to Sirmione last September. So, so busy! We literally got off the boat, wandered around with crowds for about half an hour and then got on the first boat back! Pretty but far too busy for us 🙂

We honeymooned in Limone in 99 (went back for our 25th this year) and holidayed in lake Garda in a caravan about 10 times over the years. Sirmione - you picked the worst village for a day trip as it’s always mobbed. Ferry you were very unlucky with as we’ve only known them to be cancelled once over the years. Ferries best way to travel but not cheap. We based ourselves in Portese on the west most years as you got the gorgeous scenery without the crowds. Limone is gorgeous but has got more touristy and that wee bit by the port is a pain as it’s such a bottleneck. The north definitely the more picturesque. Hope you enjoyed Bergamo. We’ve visited and stayed a number of times and the old town is gorgeous. If you are ever back in that area I can recommend Lake Iseo as it’s definitely less touristy but still beautiful. Look forward to your Como video as I’ve done some cycling there. All the best
