Well ... I think it's finally time to wave goodbye to Slovenia - it's been an incredible month and we look to finish things on a high - heck even the good folks from Austria and Italy and joined the locals to bid us farewell ... at least that's what we are telling ourselves.

A little bit about us ..

We are the Cookes, Nicola, and Nigel. We love to travel. In 2018 we bought and converted a VW Transporter van and spent 3 years traveling around the UK and Ireland. At the time we also travelled with our beloved cat, Guinness. She was 20. Sadly we lost Guinness in Feb of 2020 and then well the rest of the world went to pot.
After a few 3 month trips to northern Spain and France, In early 2023 we sold our property back in Ireland and hit the road full time. For the remainder of 2023 we explored Spain, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
2024 has us exploring Greece as well as Italy, Slovenia and The Alps ....
This channel will primarily focus on our travels, with the odd smattering of photography and food thrown in for good measure.

You've surprised me at the end of your journey through my country 👏
I've been following it from the first episode. But what i find most beautiful in this 'last spisode' is how you've joined our local people on a hike up to Tromeja. I miss that from the other travelers visiting our small, but nice country ... get down to earth, talk to locals, get to know our traditions, and customs. People visiting us here mostly make their own itineraries and usually don't care much about local happening. There's a lot more to see and experience here, besides Bled, Bohinj, Vintgar ...
I think you'll return very soon, as I've noticed Slovenia captured your hearts. And that's the most beautiful thing that can happen. Anyways, you're very welcome, whenever you decide to visit us again...
P.S. those delicious 'sausages' you ate up there were čevapčiči ... not typical Slovenian food, but it became quite wide spread during Yugoslavia, especially on fairs, festivals, and other gatherings ...
