As a Jamaican, we really look forward to Champs every year!! And it doesn’t matter how old we are 😂… Champs is a big deal! AKA mini Olympics where High Schools face off!… it has been our tradition for yearssss.. we started training kids at 3-6yrs old (Basic School)where they also face off with kids their age… then we move on to Primary Champs ages 7-12yrs old.. then it’s on to The Big League which is Boys & Girls Championship (shorten for Champs) .. that’s the reason why we produce such great athletes.. so glad you got a chance to experience it 🇯🇲 …Love it❤..Proud Jamaican 😊
Really enjoyed this video. I live here in Jamaica and you highlighted some of the reasons Jamaica punches above their weight. Usain Bolt's insistence on international sponsor investment in Jamaica, Puma attaching it's brand to the development of athletics here, the strategic vision of the local event organizers to make international opportunities accessible through the schools all contribute to a pipeline of athletes the world loves to watch. I'm glad our people showed you a good time. Well done!
I literally just got in from a jog on the Palisadoes, doing my stretches, and came across this. I smiled at the interesting bus ride comment -- going up to the blue mountains is an interesting drive for everyone...but its such a joy ince you get there whether for a hike, a run, or a ride, and many do just that on their weekends. A run at Mona is a Kingston tradition; the blue track immersion at UWI, and to top it off champs!! Yes, I can imagine the times you saw -- Jamaicans at home and abroad see them every year, and many locals will say champs was a rebuild this year in respect of widespread spread and records. The noise, the support, the spectacle - it's all part of what makes Super Champs what it is. Jamaica is really a culture thats dialled in to track and field...and for a teeny tiny small island developing state, many will say we punch way above our weight in recignition and thw things we manage to do. I'm happy you all enjoyed it. Now, I'll have to go find some of the other creators that I currently don't follow to see their take 😊 Awesome job!!
I Love it! Well done! I am so proud when "outsiders" get to really witness Champs for themselves and see why Jamaica really has an endless pool of talent; why we have swagger; why our athletes have no fear when they take their talent to the international stage. Our success there is not due to doping. Where else do you go and see grown men and women, past students or not, don high school regalia and shout and cheer with passionate intensity for their alma mater, their children's or relatives' school, or just their favorite. I tell you there is nothing like Champs anywhere else in the world and I just wish all the world could witness it. feel it. live it! It's not to be missed and I sure hope you will be back next year.
@margaretlaidley9832 Well said! I used to attend Champs in the 60s 😲and I'm glad to see it is still going strong! Shelly-Ann Frasier-Price warmed my heart as a past alumnus of my alma mater Wolmer's Girls' School. At this age, I just cheer for any champion from any school --- one Jamaica, One People! 🔥🏝❤
I loved everything about this video, spectacular! Champs truly amazing with boundless Jamaican talent. You were in my backyard literally. i use to walk early mornings at the dam and my best moments was the sun rising over the mountains pure beauty. I am blessed to live here, heat and all. Thanks for showcasing beautiful Jamaica🇯🇲
Thank you for sharing the love for running at the grassroots level in Jamaica. I thoroughly enjoyed this and can see myself rooting for the Jamaicans just based on their passion.
The only age group championship in track and field in the world. The Olympic Games is much less pressure to Jamaican athletes than the boys and girls championship.
Epic video, puma treated you guys well. I'm from T&T and I'm glad you were in the Caribbean. Yes it hot right through the year. Jamacia is so beautiful and actually cooler than my home weather wise. I can't believe you didn't get to taste the Jamacian Jerk, its so spicy and delicious.
Interesting that of all the influencers who attended the event, you are the only one who made a full video out of it. I wouldn’t have even heard about this if it hadn’t been for you, so thank you!

I'm SO happy that you went to Jamaica! 🇯🇲 I love to see my little island highlighted in a Runner's Weekend. I don't know if Mr. Francis mentioned it, but he puts on the Reggae Marathon (now a half and 10k) in Negril every December. I suggested to Tommie that he do the Reggae Marathon, but going for Champs with Puma is pretty cool. Also, no trip to Jamaica is complete without a thrilling car/bus ride. LOL
So happy to know you and the team were able to make this trip and enjoy the amazing spectacle we love and call "Champs" it really has no comparisons for this age group athletes. Come back again and experience more of Jamaica
So well done as always, and this was certainly one of your most unique destinations. Congratulations also on getting chosen to attend; a testament to your achievements as both a runner and an influencer.

Great video as always! I'm excited for what Puma has coming out later this year, and I think they're competing well with all the right products and image with much more to come. Thanks for taking us along on your runner's weekend!
