Ko ~ HI there!!!! I am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED to have met you out there on the course of the Aramco Houston Half Marathon! You did a spectacular job, running with that extending camera and not tripping over it. Couldn't have been easy, man. ;) My wonderful ol' friend Keith Sinclair, from our days working with the New York Road Runners back in the 1990s, was the one who told me about this video. THANK YOU again for your courage and curiosity and sweetness!
@@kofuzi Dear, new friend. It's Fiona Bayly here, and I just posted a separate comment to you upon seeing some of that excellent video. It's all wonderful. :) Do you remember, when we were chugging past those fountains near the museum section, I said "I love you," in response to your kind comment about my steady pace...? Well, yeah, I didn't even know you and I loved you! It's simply that I madly LOVE the sport of running, and I madly LOVE those lovely people such as yourself who also madly LOVE it. I could go on. You get my drift. But, wow, I gather you PR'd, and I'm STOKED for you!!!!
@@nicolesinquee7043 Oh my GOODNESS, Nicole, you are everywhere. HA HA HA! I love you!!! I'd had no idea I was even in this nice fellow's video until a former NYRR co-worker drew my attention to it a couple days ago, and then I see these posts and I learn that Michael/Ko is a WONDERFUL individual with so much support behind him, too! On the course he had kind words & warm encouragement for everyone.
I made the video!!! 13:02 Orange shoes and singlet. You were out recording mostly the wheelchair that was coming by but I caught a glimpse and yelled your name! You gave me the fist pump! Helped me on the last mile! 3:29:18 PB!
My Fiona story is that I was running the Clinton (MO) Half Marathon in 2020 when an obviously fit masters runner started moving up in the pack toward me. I love my fellow geezers so at a turnaround I yelled encouragement at her. Later I looked her up because I hadn't seen her around town. This was the middle of the lockdown and only red states were doing races, so Fiona had hopped on a plane to Kansas City just to run a half!!! That's hardcore.
Oh my goodness, you are too kind. An old friend just alerted me to this video by Michael (I'm still not sure whether he goes by Michael, or Ko!) but I'm floored by these kind comments. Michael is a BRILLIANT new pal.

Thanks for presenting my hometown htown so nicely! You did great 1:25! Fiona tough as heck. I got a 2:50 in the marathon good for 3rd age group 50-55. My 25th Houston marathon. And great meeting you at the shakeout. Love that you seek out the love. Keep it up Ko!

Congratulations on the PB! Awesome recap, I can literally feel the hype and joy. This year I decided to participate in my first official run, the Brooklyn half. You were a big inspiration for me to start running, hopefully I’ll get the chance to thank you in person in the near future ❤️👍🏽
Another great weekend wrap and huge kudos on your PR! Makes me want to do the HM there next year. I loved seeing you cheer on the marathon finishers and hearing @steevie76 screaming for you.
Big congrats on your PB. I did the full. 3rd time. Loved the video as always. You nailed it as it is just an awesome race and so well organized. Keep up the great work
Great race, Kofuzi! This was my first Houston Marathon, and it was a great race. Compared to the other bigger marathons in Texas, this course is way flatter, way straighter, way less exposed to sun and wind, way more spectators, and when I separated from the half marathon, I wasn't alone. Very well organized. As someone from North Texas, I hate to say this, but Houston is THE Texas marathon to run. Plus, I hit a BQ by almost 10 minutes!
