Wishing SHERICKA all the best for the Olympics. Since she is committed to the 200m which is harder than the 100m it would indicate that she is not in bad shape.
200 is her better event so I wouldn't say she is not in bad shape. I think it is just if you are going to run injured then it makes since to put all your eggs in your best event. Britton wilson ran injured last year in the 400 and 400 hurdles and it ended up costing her both races. Shericka is hoping that even though she is injured she can still medal if she focuses on one event. It won't be easy and will depend on if her body holds up. I tried competing once with an injured hamstring that was 90 percent healed. I decided to focus on one event just like Shericka and that event was the 100. I ran and crossed the finish line in first and reinjured my hamstring as I crossed the finish line. To make matters worse it turns out the guy next to me had false started but the second gun had malfunctioned so we didn't know it was a false start til we crossed the finish line. We had to line up to run again and I ended up in last due to hamstring getting reinjured,so it is possible to win when not 100 percent, but it's a big gamble and you could hurt yourself worse.

Jacko, I honestly do not believe she was injured early in the year…my true belief about that is her body already crashed, and she injured herself out of her frustration with trying to run faster. My girl unfortunately wasn’t faking it, and you know what? I’m so sad for my Jacko because 2021 she made a bad mistake and missed the final, and now she’s hands-down the absolute BEST alive today, second best in history by FAR, and my baby likely won’t get a chance to get the Olympic Credentials she’s earned, and totally deserves, for the second time around & may not have another since she’s 30 years old. Age 34 hits differently than age 30, and four years is a long time to wait. I’m just keeping her in my prayers, and if all goes as I suspect, she’ll either improve only a little next year then explode again two years from now, OR, she’ll come back next year with a vengeance! Either way, I love my girl and keeping her in my prayers!
Her best is not behind her but you have a point that the body is not infallible.
@stevie586 You killed it!...well said. People, stop being so hateful in your comments, enough hate in this world. Please give each other some Grace, it will be, what it was meant to be.
@@joyawilliams2462 amen, and thank you! I love all these athletes, and they all deserve our respect for their extremely hard work and dedication. No matter who says what, I’m always gonna love all the athletes and show them my support. Your team will win/lose some, but we have to let it go and remember this is entertainment. My Jacko has shown she is the best alive in the 200M and I just pray to God she receives the medal she deserves, along with all others.
Shericka understand that her health comes first. she been there done that. She just planning to make a statement with the 200m
I agree 💯
winning gold at the olympics is better than world record.... stay healthy and go for the gold
Shericka hasn't looked herself since last year.
Hopefully she will be ok going into the future.
Agreed!!
TRACK WITHOUT THE JAMAICAN'S ALONG SIDE USA NO EXCITEMENT!!
MISS USAIN SO MUCH! GOOD SPRINTERS NOW! BUT TRACK NEEDS EXCITEMENT! LOOKING OUT FOR DEGRASSE CANADA WHEN I SEE HIM THE GOOD OLD DAYS COME BACK!! MY FAMILY AND I JUMPING UP AND DOWN SCREAMING WITH EXCITEMENT! SORRY SHERICKA NOT RUNNING 100 OR 200! SHE KNOWS HER BODY ALL THE BEST TO HER❤❤
Shericka is smart! Some athletes wudda get "frighten" and go against the coach and push their body and end up getting worse injury (hint: YB). She's being proactive to protect her body. That's good to be thinking long term cus there r still more races to come after Olympics. 🎉🎉
Lovely character ( like DA Smith)
She will win defo, may even break the record. Professional, humble , grounded, you go girl you a a true champion!
you have to run the race to be a champion ......
Stay tuned for 200m final and watch the champions she is!! Go Shericka J. Much love ❤️
Shericka is not 100%. Good decision to stick to the 200m. Not rocket science. We look forward to a good performance form her.

The rivalry is not since 2008 it’s been years USA and Jamaica against the world.
She also stated that she’s been watching since 2008 to notice it.
@@dvdndsWillcorrect. People here luck listening skills.
I thought it was chemist against chemist and Russia just tipped the balance.
She was trained as a 200 m sprinter... she knows she can win that but if she injures herself in 100 where she dont think she will anyway then she risk a medel in 200
She hasn't run good times at the 200m this year for whatever reason. Gabby Thomas has run faster 200m times this year than Shericka. Gabby Thomas is the favorite to win the 200m gold at the Olympics.
Which 21 century athlete only train for 2comon

@chevchell4244 that was what she started with... clearly you know nothing about track and field

One thing I noticed for sure is that Shericka dont seem sad or disappointed, but more easy going. I feel something fishy going on.
Damn, it's sad she's not running 100m
Sherika , take care of yourself, your body and general wellbeing. Would have loved you to run both the 100 and 200 sprint. I trust your judgment and the decision made to protect you. Enjoy your run in the 200m and do your best. We enjoy watching you and all the other athletes.
I don't care why she's not running,I luv me some her.I was looking forward to them racing for a medal though.
Exactly, all we wanted was a race on the most prestigious platform to crown the Fastest Woman In The World!
The title Shericka Jackson wants is that 200m gold. She didnt even want to run the 100m in Tokyo 2020. She was deeply disappointed to go out the rounds in the 200m in Tokyo.
Wow. The great ones always honor the coach.
Olympic star 🌟 is born 🇯🇲🌟🇯🇲
Well she's doing what's best for her and her body..I wish he well
Love her personality! Big fan of her.
Fanno is not misleading anyone. The200m is a sprint event.
He's misleading fans. Fi seh "nutten nuh wrong with her". Wrong statement.
I hate this for her. I wish her the best
Great Jamaican bless her.
You people are poison. I hope she doesn’t read these comments. May God continue to keep our athletes healthy and grounded. Some of your responses are uncalled for. Smh.
I’m sad and disappointed
I am not disappointed, she’s not well body wise she’s injured so I get it. She’s not stone, she’s human. I just know she’s going to do great things after this. ❤
I wish the interview was in another location..i couldnt hear the questions they were asking her!!!😳🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Good girl, do you and the best you can , Jamaica all the way
As i said before, love her smile. All if she loose, her smile makes my day.
She just went for the ride
So what was the point ion coming to Paris , not running 100M , pulling out of 200M , really disappointed
Is this the time to be gossiping about Sherika’s personal life. People just chill. Let the Olympics end. No wonder Blake had to cuss Oonu out. Listen to how some of you are classing the girl about selling out. Sell out to whom and for what. Leave the young lady and let her prosper it’s her health she does what she pleases. SMH.
People too bad mind.
The response to the australian athlete question was cutthroat 😂😂😂😂😂

I'm not gonna lie, some of the Jamaican athletes really need to learn how to create marketing hype. That's why apart from the performances we love Bolt.

This is what sets Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce apart. They were consistent with it through their 20's till retirement. Now, add how great showstoppers they were... that's legendary/iconic status there. We'll probably never see that again!
@malvinelpinnoy injuries or not Shelly is going to show up. Shelly wasn't 100% and suffered a toe injury but still run at Rio Olympic and got Bronze. Shelly wasn't 100% again in Budapest but still showed up and got Bronze. Shelly very consistent and a fighter on the track 👣
Shelly didn’t run the 200 at every Olympics. And Shelly didn’t even attempt the 200 this season. So what do you mean by consistent through to retirement?

I think the WORLD is ready for the "record" to be broken. Shericka has shown she has it within her to do it. By concentrating on just the 200m she is primed to make history. I hope she does! 😊

And watch her win

I'm not sure why Shericka Jackson backed out of the 100m race. The Olympics only come around once every 4 years, and at her age, this will probably be her last chance. She hasn't looked good at the 200m race this year either. What happened to Shericka? She owned the 200m race in 2022 and 2023. Now Gabby Thomas is the favorite at 200m.
You should take a hint. She’s not at her best and would rather focus on her strongest race than worsen her chance by running other distances.
