I just found your channel and I have the same sentiment for Fanatec, I'm not sure what they are doing but they seem to not care about their customers, even the quality has gone down. More issues with hardware, shipping and their customers service has got to be a 2 out of 10 compared to their competitors. I switched to simagic even though it was a kind of a rough start for them , I believe that they now have the best midrange ego system. Much better QR than, even better than the QR 2 and not costing an arm and a leg.
Hey Dude, thanks for the Video! Question 1: Does the Moza Adapter Plate fits to Fanatec QR1? Question 2: Which Poster do you have behind you, it looks fantastic! Cheers Alex
The emulator is no longer relevant is it? Seems you can run the base without a wheel attached, why would you need the emulator to put on a 3rd party wheel?
If you are using a 3rd party wheel you must connect it via USB, but it will work via USB. For example, you could get the KS wheel from Moza or the Neo wheel from Simagic, both of these have the possibility to use USB connections directly to PC for their controls on the wheel. For me, I primarily use it for wheels that don't have buttons on them. For example, a basic round wheel rim and then a vintage wooden wheel rim are two of my favorites.
Hey man, great video. I've got the SRM adapter which works good. Has a chip and allows me to bolt on anything else. I wasn't aware there was a Tiny emulator that's cool. What's the name of the piece near the end of the chain that you can snap on the Simagic style QR's to? Love to buy one of those and attach to my SRM.
That is the base side part of the D1 spec QR. It is included when you order a Kyostar QR, whatever specific brand QR you will want to get their base side part of the QR so you know the fit will be solid.
Gotcha, i'm a little new to the other types of QR's. I figured they were roughly the same. But may'be not so much. The one you have was it for Cammus? I presume Cammus or Simagic would be very similiar or Moza too.@ACasualRacer
@ACasualRacer i think I understand now. The QR just needs to match the base. I don't actually have any Simagic wheels. Although i uust bought the new GT Neo
@@jameslsimsports8514 yeah, so with the Neo you can attach any type of QR, it's really cool. If you are looking to expand with more wheels and rims, then you can use the SRM adapter you have, and I'd order a Kyostar QR. They come with the base side part you need. Then for each new rim or wheel, you can just order another Kyostar QR... You'll end up with plenty of extra baseside parts, but I use them to hang up my wheels.
@@ACasualRacer yeah I’m excited to get the Neo. I’ll grab the MagLink as well. Am I right to assume you’d need the SRM emulator to use the Neo with the Fanatec QR and MagLink to get it to work anyway? I think I’ll grab the Kyostar. I guess they don’t just sell the QR separately.
Thanks so much for your video showing this great solution. Now if you can help me to attach an Amazon steering wheel to my CSL dd base. What do I need to buy exactly from SRM? BTW I have bought another QR1 that on its way. I am little confused. So I put the tiny emulator first inside the CSL did shaft then attach the qr1 directly to the Amazon wheel then attach the wheel through the qr1 to the base directly or I need an adapter? Thanks.
@@ACasualRacerSo I put the tiny emulator then attach this adapter to the QR1 from one side and then attach the Amazon wheel from the other side of the adapter and finally slide it into the CSL DD wheel base. Right?
You still need the SRM adapter and the tiny emulator from SRM too, but you could then attach a wheel directly to that adapter (as Fanatec uses a custom bolt pattern so you can't just attach to their QR directly).
when im looking at the sr adapter the fanatec qr1 bolts align with the other bolts for normal rims im confused@@ACasualRacer they show holes for a 50.8 pattern dono whats that for and a 70mm ring

Hi i don t know much about it, can you advise me please? I have a fanatec gt dd pro 8nm base. I saw that it was possible to connect the moza racin fsr steering wheel to the base. So i just bought the SMR emulator for fanatec wheel base. is this enough for the moza wheel and all the buttons to be usable as well the force feedback?? Should i use a software?
you will need that "moza universal hub" that moza has. it allows for it to connect via usb and it will give you all the wheel functions. when doing it this way you will need usb to control the buttons on the wheel. this solution he is describing is great quick way to do any wheel mounted and get it ffb. but this setup does not power the wheel. that has to be done with usb. I hope that made sense.
This is a true game changer. KUDOS to Simon at SRM for this solution!
Of course, it's great!
Awsome video. Was looking for a different fanatec QR solution and is also very inexpensive. SUBBED!
Thank you for the simple yet well detailed video. I just subscribed.

Great solution. But confused that it think the podium hub is too long but the SRM solution ends up being longer.
The SRM solution is shorter.
Just color button emulator to bright red.
Thanks for the guide. New DD/DD+ are great , except QR2 (compatibility and pricing) is a mess.
How to enable high torque mode on DD1? Turn to 90° dosnt work....
The emulator is no longer relevant is it? Seems you can run the base without a wheel attached, why would you need the emulator to put on a 3rd party wheel?
Fanatec's wheelbases are an exclusive ecosystem, there will be ZERO FFB unless you use an emulator.
Does the buttons still work like this

Yes, you could to the SRM adapter plate.

@@ihababbas9863 yup!
Do you update the emulator in the fanatec sofware like you would update a wheel, or just leave it as is?
No, you do not want to update it. It will most likely brick the emulator.
You should probably mention that you have to remove the pins in the QR so that they dont bend..
There are no pins in the QR if you just buy the QR by itself. The pins are attached to the wheels and podium hub part.
How do you connect the shifters and buttons to the wheelbase? I am guessing you just can't use 3rd party wheels on PS5 at all.
Via USB to PC.
That would be correct.

Does this work for console as well? I have the Fanatec GT DD PRO and want to use a Moza wheel. I'd appreciate a response bro
