My first hardcore run ended when I accidentally used a magic mirror during the wall of flesh fight. I always kept it in my hotbar close to weapons and it killed me. It was like 5-6 years ago. And since then i never tryed hardcore ever again. Until a month ago, when i tried calamity summoner death mode hardcore. It was going pretty well. But i got jumpscared by mimic while farming spider teeth, it jumped into me making 2 very fast hits, killing me
that's why in the video, he has his settings for stuff like this, where he'd be able to hear them coming, and not only that, hopefully see them, and to have time to think, go into inventory, because of the setting that allows your game to be paused when your in your inventory, or chest, which I highly recommend all of these for stuff like that, with your camera fully zoomed out. and maybe just try not to do hardcore at first, it's not for everyone, I recommend just playing the game normally and getting better at it, unlike this masochist in this video who needed to be coached, and spend over 100+ hours of in game effort. just from when I used to play the game, from one player to another. good luck on any other challenges you might try!
Here's a fun fact, I'm pretty sure you can avoid a natural boss spawn if you stay underground. So if you aren't ready for, say, the Destroyer, you can hide until dawn.

@@White.Pikmin they do, drills have a lower tick rate cap than picaxes, so if theres anything that increases mining speed (werewolf, mining potion, well fed...) pickaxes get way faster
The inventory management really adds an interesting challenge, having to pick and choose what you carry with you bc every single slot matters. One of my fav. hardcore tips is to carry a pressure plate / wiring-related thing around with you in your hotbar that you can periodically flick to, to expose traps around you, and I could absolutely see myself dying like 20 times in this challenge due to thinking 'do I really need the pressure plate? Eh, I'll be really caref- * explodes * '
When you got to the moonlord I was NERVVOOUUSS. The sigh of RELIEF I felt when you did it. Great run my guy this is honestly encouraging since I also never play these sorts of games solo and I also die a lot but seeing you get this far was amazing
now do it with only the hotbar slots, no other inventory or loadout slots to store extra accessories. (Hardcore is too masochistic, there are too many ways to be one shot in this game, im surprised you even beat it once)
There is no point in playing on hardcore, when you abuse save & quit every time, when you in danger. This is just poinless. Beside, there is no many ways to die on expert, unless you don't max out health or playing without armor. Explosive traps can only kill you when you below 300 hp, after this point you can only die from deathman chests, but you need to check around before you open one. Second way to die is teleporting when you fight against Wall of Flesh. Third way to die when you fighting daytime Empress of light. If you get hit - you die. This is one of only 2 bosses, who can kill you in one shot. Other one is dungeon guardian, but you should neven go below 0 surface before you fight with Skeleton, so its not threat. On legendary difficulty there is also Skeleton too, since he become dungeon guardian at low heath. Traps in legendary way deadly there too. On expert there is no many ways to die, unless you do something wrong. With enough practice anything before master mode because walk in the park and this is just boring.

I usually cheese the worm before the eye by building a box roughly 50-70 blocks up in the air, making 1 block holes in the floor and just spamming the shit out of the worm with nades. In general the idea is that you are high enough so the worm barely reaches you when he jumps in the air. But low enough so he doesn't despawn
the easiest way by far to get shark fins is to throw water walking potions or hunter potions into the shimmer. you also get free daybloom and other potion making ingredients in the process. thats what i do with all my unwanted potion stacks, like featherfall, gills, and night owl potions

29:25 In specific situations the Uzi is better. Namely it has piercing bullets by default, meaning it's amazing for crowd control, as well as it's a great pairing with the endless musket pouch. It also has higher base damage, meaning it does more DPS to enemies with higher defence. It is also pre-mech boss. However, the Megashark's higher fire rate with lower damage makes it better vs enemies with lower defence, as well as it has a better accuracy spread than the Uzi and it by default has a strong ammo retention meaning you can use more expensive bullets more freely with the megashark. Personally the Uzi is my favourite weapon so I'm probably a bit biased in saying this but for the earlier access, enemy piercing properties (the only gun that has piercing bullets pre-mech) and increased viability against high defence enemies, the Uzi just CLEARS the megashark. The only real time I see the Uzi losing to the megashark is when you're fighting a single target who has low defence, such as focusing only 1 of the twins or skeletron prime's lone head while he's not spinning (fun fact, megashark is better for when the head is alone and not spinning, but the uzi is better when the head IS spinning, according to the wiki), but realistically speaking for both those fights, the ability to pierce makes the Uzi better anyway.
This is one of the grindiest playthroughs i ever watched and inventory management wasn't that inconvenient. Also you grew soo much from the guy ho dies from a mining a boulder from the side to defeating moon lord in hardcore. Im still thinking why would you throw at a challenge with a huge gap in difficulty with so little experience. (prob burn +250 hs in this journey counting failed attempts)
