fun fact most of all the characters are named after places in New York where they live, Madison Ave, Chelsea St, Nolita, Delancey St, Hudson River.
plus Bryant Park and Kennedy airport!
However in some countries madison is named wesley
And Ellis island
That's really interesting
Ellis Island was made the least amount of dolls
GIRL. The myscene WEBSITE. Absolutely LEGENDARY. That's top tier
EXACTLY THIS.
I feel like it's kinda unfair that myscene ONLY gets labeled as bratz knock-offs bc in some areas myscene achieved what bratz couldn't
exactly. I'm so tired of the My Scene line being labelled this
I lowkey wanna know why you say that. I never really watched either so I’d love to hear your reasoning
What areas did they achieve? They were created directly in response to the success of Bratz. Nothing original.
@@micelectrix7430 I totally agree with this; however, it wasn’t what I interpreted when they referred to “achievement.”
Shutup my scene is bad
i will not tolerate this myscene slander.
Bratz outsold so
@@Bunnzbunny ofc they did, they were the blueprint😌💅🏽
And?
LETS NOT COMPARE TWO POWERFUL WOMEN BOTH R ICONICC ASF
i will tho!!
okay but the intro to MyScene Goes Hollywood is SO nostalgic
wow she’s doing myscene, now rank ever after high
And MLP!!!
yesss
And MLP and Winx Club
All of ever after high is #1 and that's that except dragon games I don't acknowledge it
@@22issie yes let’s pretend like it never happened
“Anyway I’m gonna go rewatch Princess and the Pauper” is the most relatable thing I’ve ever heard
My Scene Goes Hollywood was my entire personality as a child. I had the computer game. Now I’m trying to become a director. Go figure
Same lol!!
I just became your 100th like for such an interesting comment you made lol
@@majixajinxix12chartdisplay33 haha thanks for the update!
Same!!

I watched Jammin' in Jamaica sooo many times as a kid. The scene where they're raising money for their trip is the sole reason I wanted fingerless gloves when I was younger 😂
When I was younger, I thought that Barbie, Bratz and MyScene, were all made by the same company, so I thought that MyScene was a doll line that was a collaboration between Barbie and Bratz. (I'm not even kidding)
I like this narrative better tbh
SAME
Adriana Lima inspired the Bratz face mold but Bratz never credits her
I remember the MyScene Goes Hollywood computer game. It was so much fun!!!
Who else remembers My Scene: Masquerade Madness? 🎭✨ I found it on DVD randomly at antiques store or whatever in my town & I still think it's cute & enjoyable. Plus it features Barbie franchise alums Kelly Sheridan (still as Barbie), Kathleen Barr (Madison) & Alessandro Juliani (River)! 💖
Edit: Oh my God I just realized that the voice of Brett is King Dominick.
I had the DVD + doll (Nolee) and I feel like that movie stuck with me a lot because half the plot was about math, and me being a math nerd and all was really happy that for once a movie wasn't trashing math xD
@@didip1000 Aw, I wish I could've been a math nerd but I'm happy for you that you got to experience that & therefore relate heavily to one of the main characters (Nolee). 💖
Yes I loved that movie!!
*GASP* myscene is ART, I do not stand for such libelous accusations!
I honestly love the myscene goes to Hollywood movie cause it is so nostalgic for me. I didnt watch it that much but I have this vivid memory of me and my sister finding it on RUclips and watching it for the first time.
The mini games were so fun tho. What an iconic part of my childhood.
i was obsessed with them 😩
The lawsuits are *crazy* to read lol. It’s kinda funny that this was going on and over there in a corner you’ve got the adults that were kids in 2006 having all dolls in complete utter bliss of this (that’s me lmao)
I think all the names (but Barbie) are based on locations in New York- including the guy's names! It makes sense name-wise why they replaced Barbie with Kennedy.
Girl how are you gonna do this before My Little Pony and Ever After High!??? Cmon we been waiting!!
Biggest mistake: Calling the MyScene girls HIGHSCHOOLERS. They are young working adults. Even in the series we see them working and stuff
They were only 16 actually
No, they were 15-16. They’re in high school, celebrate a sweet 16, talk about getting a license/car, have to ask their parents for permission to fly to Jamaica, etc.
They're really rich high schoolers
The My Scene slander in this comment section is really embarrassing...if you don't collect neither of them you shouldn't speak on their behalf lol
Actual Bratz fans would know that My Scene is more than just a copy of Bratz and an amazing doll line as well😬
all of the myscene names are references to new york! chelsea for chelsea market, madison for madison ave, nolee for nolita, delancey for delancey street, bryant for bryant park, and hudson and river for the hudson river lol
oh and i think sutton is something in london, but idk
This dragged up a memory I didn't know existed to the front of my mind, I completely forgot about myscene until now. I had a purple myscene bag as a kid, which I loved purely because it had a mini version of itself as a zipper pull and that was the coolest thing to me.
the way i GASPED when i saw the title. nobody disrespects my girls
I think Jamming in Jamaica was my favorite. I watched it over and over again (and my mom bought it with a quickness for me since my dad is Jamaican and she was so excited to see some mainstream dolls make even a reference to the island haha).
Can we get a “I watched all the Mary Kate and Ashley movies so you don’t have to” ? Haha
i wish they had made enough of these that Delancey and Nolee had their own movies (especially Delancey, my fave of the girls)
Same
myscene is PEAK early 2000s aesthetic from the fashion to the names to everything honestly
I was such a My Scene fan growing up, and I particularly loved the Jammin' in Jamaica line. I still have the DVD, which I got with the Barbie from that line. The movie itself is probably one of my favorite doll movies simply by virtue of being such a guilty pleasure. There are so many moments in the film that are kinda corny but genuinely adorable and funny.
Rank the strawberry shortcake next please! Those movies were the staple of my childhood.
Lawd Barbie was so annoying in “Jammin in Jamaica”, but I love this movie 😭
Every mf movie Barbie had some beef w Madison and had insecurity issues😭
@@CrystalChrysanthemum pls 😭, I’m still sick on Madison being the villain for 2 out of their 3 movies
Come on! I was so annoyed at barbie as a child because she came to Jamaica as a surprise and she knew that they had to work but she wanted all the attention to herself. Madison litterely didnt do anything wrong
She sure was
I was really upset that she didn’t realize how important this event was, but Maddison and River gave off some weird vibes, man.
I remember Jammin in Jamaica premiered on Nickelodeon. It was promoted for a long time and my siblings and I tuned in that day!!!! It played the next morning too!!!
they chose the names for the dolls based on places in new york (ellis island, hudson river, etc) that's why they're more ~unique~
THE DISRESPECT
She told no lies tho
@@CartoonLadyMimi Respectfully disagree
@@__-uy6jm wdym disagrees. They literally copied Bratz it’s a fact omg 😂
@@Bunnzbunny myscene was supposed to copy bratz but watching the movies they barely reminded me of bratz, like myscene focused more on friendship (ig) and bratz were more about the glam and fashion for passion so even though they were supposed to be a ‘knock off’ they barely had similarities to me
(not shading myscene i still love them but bratz were more iconic)
The craziest thing to me as a child was when the fashion show scene was on the tv in that one polly pocket movie. I also never had the dolls but I did watch the movies/shorts and play the games. And when they had the reboot of my scene I watched all those shorts as well. Ah good times such nostalgia
Girl can you plz rank all the mlp movies???
Right!!? And that would be so cool considering there are a lot of generations of ponies! And it would also be fitting considering the new mlp movie just came out!!
I love MyScene Dolls they were always humble, never big headed. 😏
(I was obsessed with MyScene & Bratz 😂)
Holy crap, you have unleashed a wave of nostalgia with the my scene website I can’t believe I forgot one of the iconic websites I spent so much time on when I was younger TT
As a kid I loooooved my scene games so much and when I saw the Madison Jammin in Jamaica doll in my toystore I kid you not, I did not shut up til my mom bought it(for context I'm not one to beg for things and ask for stuff so it was out of character for me) , it also came with the movie so ofcourse I was over the moon excited. My sister still plays with the doll too this day but the movie is long gone with donations.
My scene >>>> Bratz and THATS that on THAT
Hahaha no
@@CartoonLadyMimi haha why cant both be good ?
Caitlin this title… I feel attacked personally 😂🙈
Right?? I haven’t even seen the video yet! But Hollywood and Jammin in Jamaica WERE MY FAVES!!!!💖✨😭😭 I got Jammin in Jamaica free with one of my dolls!🙌🏼🙌🏼
FR🤣🤣🤣
Me too! I loved the dolls. And the website. 😭✨
Caitlin, do you also like Rainbow High? It's a new doll line that came out in October 2020. It doesn't have any movies as of right now but they have a RUclips channel with all their webisodes. The dolls themselves are cool too! I have two of the characters Amaya and Violet.
I will say... the MyScene girlies served some LOOKS-before they changed it to make it look SUPER Bratz-esque- they made up my childhood with those games (along with MyScene Goes Hollywood)!!
I remember I got my Jamming in Jamaica movie from Mc Donald's as their "toy" from the Happy Meal. Good times ✨🙏🏻
Myscene Masqerade Madness was my fave comfort movie as a kid
i for some reason didn't even know that these movies existed. I do remember playing the games on the my scene website a lot though. I loved dressing the dolls and, if i remember correctly, there was also a game where you got to redecorate a bedroom and i played that one all the time. I honestly miss that website sometimes.
THE WEBSITE WAS SOOOO GOOD
I love My Scene Jammin in Jamaica is one of my favourite movies from when I was a child. Ellis & Delancey are unproblematic faves and I ship them so hard. Glad to know I’m not the only one. Also so many of the songs were bangers. Radio way? Iconic. Spontaneous? Fantastic. Forever? A total bop. They’re so good! There’s also my favourite moment in the movie (outside of Ellis finally asking Delancey out) is when Ellis says that he’s a bad dancer but then when Madison pulls him on to the dance floor he’s show dancing the same way as everyone else.
yess I just re-watched the myscene movies randomly like 2 weeks ago, and I was thinking 'wow i wonder when caitlin would do a myscene video' and here it is!! Masquerade Madness was my top choice too, but I loved the music in the Hollywood one best 🙌
I've been looking for one of these movies for AGES. I can't believe it exists. Thank you
I didn’t know My Scene Goes Hollywood was an actual movie. I only ever played the old computer game
Also never knew that MyScene was Mattel’s response to bratz… I never really liked bratz because their heads were huge lol. But I never thought they were comparable as a kid 😅
I remember back at the time, when I watched My Scene goes Hollywood and I was so young I thought Lindsay Lohan was simply another character (I'm not from America so I didn't know what was going on with her either)
Jammin in Jamaica was always my favorite!!!
I remember me and my sister used to make the our “my scene” dolls the parents of our “bratz” dolls. Good times
why does my scene get so much hate? it’s not bad it’s actually pretty interesting.
Someone commented that "Myscene is a kid friendly Sex in the city" and yes, I agree
The Shade in the title😂😂 Damn i didn't knew Myscene had movies
Okay I didn't realize that not being allowed to have a Bratz doll was a "thing". I thought it was just my mom who wouldn't let me have one!
Ah the Barbie website that's something I'm super nostalgic about it
Can we get ever after high soon?? It was my favorite comfort show when I was just getting into highschool, I’d love to see you review it!
I loved myscene!! Delancey was my spirit animal 😂
My friends and I loved myscene dolls, and none of us thought they were bratz knockoffs 🤷🏼♀️ they never felt like that
I love myscene movies I still enjoy watching them
I was never into myscene as a kid but I played those games on the website sooo much. Love the dressing room and room decorating ones
the guys in the myscene movies had the most 2000s looking hair ever
I randomly had Masquerade Madness as a kid and I had completely forgotten everything about it and when you played that clip it UNLOCKED in my brain
I honestly didnt even know they made myscene movies. I will probably never watch them but i do love the art style, their lipgloss looks SO glossy and their hair has so much movement and its just so 2000s all around.
Honestly, they still kind of hold up 😂
The only My scene movie that I have watched is the “My scene goes Hollywood”
This brought back so many repressed myscene memories 😭 I used to love Rivers so much and how much the guys in myscene were so much better than Barbie… in my child mind 😅
Can you do American girl doll movies????????
Im so happy you did this video 💖 i love the myscene movies honestly. The first one i ever saw was masquerade madness after getting it dirt cheap at a flea market. I feel like they're such fun movies that are a bit closer to reality and little sprinkles of fantasy here and there. They're just movies to chill out and vibe to.
My Bratz / Myscene story is almost exactly the same except I did watch the Myscene movies! I actually bought the 20th anniversary Bratz dolls recently just because I can lmao. My mom didn't see the point to me getting a Myscene doll since they're "the same" and got me a "regular" Barbie when I wanted a Bratz doll really badly.
i didnt even know these were dolls, i just remember playing the games online
Oooo I see some people recommending Ever After High and I would have to agree! One of my favorite shows, books, and dolls growing up!
I had a few of the masquerade madness dolls! I never realized the ones I had were from the movie! I had the butterfly wings doll specifically!
While My Scene was created in response to Bratz, I don't think one doll line is better than the other. You can like one over the other or enjoy both, no need to pick a side! That being said...I like the My Scene Webisodes and Movies better lol! They were always group focused and their personalities always got to shine. You'd get to see how they would interact with each other and it was fun!
FINALLY MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERD
Okay, but are we not going to talk about how Mattel made a SEPARATE blonde doll ALSO NAMED BARBIE??? Like, what was the purpose?
Her name is actually kennedy and the purpose was to seperate barbie as a brand to my scene and let it stand on their own
The music in Jammin' in Jamaica absolutely slaps!
The MyScene online games were my whole life
My Scene is So good
Loved the My Scenes, they were my go to dolls as a kid, like 80% of my dolls were My Scene 15% Barbie, and weird knock offs. I didn't really watch many of the movies, just the ones that came as a VHS with the dolls, I liked them because they had the big eyes of the bratz but were not as disproportionate, I just enjoyed their design
I was literally obsessed with myscene pls
I really think that between my scene and bratz no is better both are really equally good with lines like my bling bling and forever diamondz or my scene goes hollywood and bratz the movie , my scene night out bratz girls night out
Bratz were more professional and better quality! And their movies were so much better MS was good but no one can compare to the iconic bratz
@@kickylicks5171 disagree both had great quality and movies and were professional
@@rexbesong2157 my scene was a copy to make money that’s not profesional. bratz were the og and had great quality and they had a passion 4 fashion and they cared about their quality (not just make dolls as a cash grab to compete with orher toy line) and bratz ware obviously the bigger brand so they are factually better
@@Bunnzbunny i disagree mga had a lots of lines that ripped of ms so did mattel they did that or do that constanly to each other and compettion is something completly normal and my scene had just as good if not sometimes better quality and concepts than bratz masqurade madness for example and werent just cash grabs and no its not by facts art especially dolls and media are subjective
Agree
I'm just here because the thumbnail triggered me😂
I used to play the mini games alllll the time, they were so fun!! I loved the dress up, room makeover, and hair salon one💜 and the masquerade madness dolls are literally so gorgeous I love them
I love My Scene! I used to have Barbie and their Jammin in Jamaica movie as a kid! Didn't know that there were other movies of them until recently. But I remember playing on their website for hours! Update I too found at one of my local thrift stores My Scene goes Hollywood and Masquerade Madness movies just last week! I love them so much!
The nostalgia hit me 😂😂
I loved my scene as a child and Chelsea was my fave. I also shipped Chelsea and Hudson sm! They were my favorite couple and they had sm chemistry! Also!, tbh I would like prefer madison and river rather than barbie and river... I think she was a drama queen and I couldn't stand her
I would definitely recommend watching at least 2 of the 3 My Scene movies, including My Scene Goes Hollywood.
I remember getting three my scene dolls for my birthday. I got a Barbie and two Chelseas. I also distinctly remember one of them having a jet ski.
I used to pretend the two Chelseas were evil twins 😈
I pretty much had the same experience! Grew up watching the online short movies and playing the games. I wanted to watch the full movies really bad, but didn’t get a chance to til adulthood. They aren’t great, but I didn’t expect them to be. I enjoyed them regardless.
Chelsea was my favorite.
Edit: I’d rank the movies exactly the opposite of your list, personally. Valid though.
To be fair, MGA copied Mattel as well, Bratzillas are obviously a Monster High ripoff.
And they also ripped off Funko with POP Suprise.
I have never watched my scene movies but I am definitely gonna watch Jammin in Jamaica and Masquerade Madness after watching this video so thank you!
I only one doll it was a Westley doll and I miss it so much
I've always thought the My Scene girls to be way classier than the Bratz
Unpopular opinion: I liked MyScene more than Bratz
MY SCENE DOLLS WERE MY ABSOLUTE FAV!! like omg u cannot imagine the hold these girlies had over me, i had soooo many dolls 💀💅🏻💕 still queeeeens
caitlin, pls watch Ever After High next, i’m begging you 😭💜
In my eyes, Myscene was to Barbie what the Ultimate Universe was to Marvel Comics. A modernized reimagining taking place in a completely separate universe from the usual affairs created during a time when the franchise it spawned from was on some rather tough times (financially) and would later influence the main stuff a bit (in a way).
I bet MyScene may just have been one of the inspirations behind Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures and the somewhat more realistic direction that the Barbie movies have taken (plot and concept wise) A Fashion Fairytale-onwards in the same vein that a lot of Marvel stuff (including the comics set in the regular Marvel universe themselves) have taken a few things and cues from the Ultimate Universe even after its ending in 2015.
I acutall used to have Nolee from this movie and the movie on DVD...
