We put three polly pockets in my dad's birthday cake one year. kinda mimicking those cakes that have a Barbie-like doll in the middle and the cake is the dress. My sister and I thought those were so cool. So I'd add singed Polly Pockets to the list too bc we burnt ours. XD
Bratz were the *most* iconic doll brand of the 2000s. From fashion, to design, to movies, to even music. Truly encapsulated the 2000s. They literally had Mattel shook and influenced so many brands. They had the girls scrambling.
BRATZ were so important to me as a child. I’m white / Mexican mixed & initially loved Yasmin the most because of that but would play with them all equally & who I thought was prettiest constantly changed. The representation was really so important.
Same same. Like omg I wasnt big on fashion dolls or human dolls much at all as a kid (I was a LPS kid) but I remember i saw this Sasha doll in this arcade machine in probably 2006 and i couldnt stop staring at her i thought she was so cool. And some how I lucked out and the arcade attendant unlocked the machine and just gave her to me. And even if I hardly played with her I remmebrr always thinking "we look the same that's so cool!"
my mom wouldn’t let me have the for the fear that i would come to dress slutty when i grew up. well me getting my clothing ideas from BRATZ didn’t work out the way she wanted did it?
i was surprised/disapointed she didnt put that as the intro to the american girl section as oposed to ALL the jingles she compilated for the other dolls
Bratz easily. Loved them. Fashion, the fact that they were girly but athletic and the cartoon just cemented them in my mind. They were business women. AND DIVERSE, not just basic diverse but Sasha being dark skin was so iconic to me. Dark skin and so pretty and wasn't any more aggressive than the other girls or something similar
Yes!! I loved that bratz had a Latina doll. I was obsessed with yasmin 💕 then my bestfriend had her Sasha dolls. We loved it because there was finally that representation 🙌🏼
I absolutely adored MyScene as a child, I felt like they were the perfect mix of Barbie and Bratz and definitely agree about them having a big sister feel
You also have to remember how huge the “Look Like Me” style of American Dolls were. It was revolutionary for the brand and SO many little girls (including myself) were desperate to get one. A lot of girls, though they liked the historical characters, still leaned towards ones that looked like them and strayed from ones who didn’t, so inventing the Look Like Me style was crucial to keep the business rolling.
Not gonna lie, got the Samantha doll because I couldn't get both a historical doll and a Look Like Me doll, so I got the historical doll that looked most like me (actual fave historical girl at that time was Josephina).
wilde child, kinda same, my mom got me "emily" cause she had the same name as me and same hair color, so i thought she looked kinda like me (now that i look back i look nothing like her-)
My music teacher was obsesed with Barbie. She had a whole room in her tiny apartment dedicated to her historic Barbie collection, it was pretty impressive and *aesthetic* .
Same, I would take small breaks, huffing puffing, trying to put those rubber chewable clothes on. I would even ask my mom for help when it got to tough I would be so happy if got them on or off. I also grew up on Bratz, Polly Pocket, Monster High, Alexander Dolls, American Girl but never bought them cause there were expensive. Of a course barbie that's on the period with movies. And the Winx club, which I mainly grew up on the show, not the dolls. But, I kind of makes feel bad that the children of today will never get ever the golden age of our childhood. With great tv shows, movies, toys, video games, that had the balls to teach us about serious real world topics. And some trends, or things we did as kids. Like for example, if you were having a B-Day party all you need was the three pink cardboard Vallina, Chocolate, Strawberry flavor ice cream, cups, plates, utensils, & something else I forgot about. 💯🎈
They used to rip WAY too easily. I remember being afraid to disrobe the polly pockets of my friends because of the high risk that I would rip a seam or something. I wasn't about to mess up somebody else's property at age 7 😅
I definitely preferred my scene over brat something about the brat face just kind of creeped me out as a kid. however I was totally fine with monster high and still love them to death Go figure kid brain 🧠🤪
I had the black doll from the splashy chic collection and it was my favorite doll ever! They were stunning, to the point were i was happy just letting her sit and awe at how pretty she was!
Dude my childhood is flooding back to me and I lOvE iT- (STORY TIME! I always played fashion games and enjoyed mixing and matching until I made a outfit deemed acceptable to my kid brain, I played this one fashion game for its music. I can’t remember much since I’m oLd but the music made me feel like edna mode, it was THAT GOOD-)
@Cheese Crust take2 lmao mga sue Mattel for copying but the man who created the Bratz was working at mattel when he created the Bratz and when they refused to make the doll he went on and make them with mga. So they sued and ended up getting sued 😂😂😂
Artoria Pendragon I never said lips were a style. I was referring to the type of clothes they wear; (2000s) streetwear/exaggerated versions of what was popular to be specific. Never once did I state that.
I had the one that can be stick on the wall mall. Technically it was my sister, but we shared. The shoes will always go missing, and I couldn't stick it on the wall.
To me, American Girl dolls seem like status symbols for parents to brag about. None of my friends actually played with them, they just had them sitting around all pretty in their rooms.
I can’t relate my friend and I played with our American girl dolls everywhere I was going to keep them but after years of falling out of trees they look a little yikes 😬
My rich friend had ALL of them and one time she knocked over her Josephina doll and its ear melted off from her radiator...it wasn’t “perfect” anymore so her parents got her a new one and she gave the damaged one to me. I took it with me EVERYWHERE until i grew out of playing with dolls, I still have it too!
Yeah. My sisters friend had a birthday party revolving around American Girl dolls. My sister felt like she had to get one and told our parents. Funny enough though, she ended up getting a Cabbage Patch Kids doll 😂 My dad didn’t mean to get it for her but thought that was an American Girl Doll. Needless to say that party was awkward for my sister who couldn’t do anything with her doll while everyone was styling their American Girl Dolls. And my parents ended up buying the right ones :/
There's this book I read (I'm not going to name it because I don't recommend it) which talked at length about the impact of Barbie in setting beauty standards and fashion trends in women who grew up playing with them (it was written in the mid 2000s) so it would make sense that now the generation that grew up playing bratz would also be heavily influenced by the dolls
I’ve always wanted bratz dolls since I was a kid and I even watched all their movies and tv shows but I never got any so I had to stop myself from thirsting too hard for them. Y’all think I should buy a bratz dolls as a figurine?
If you wanna see this in practice, you should watch Safiya Nygaard's video! She put together the outfits of 3-4 of the original Bratz dolls to see how they compared to modern fashion and its AMAZING.
i think bratz is honestly genius with giving them names and personalities that go father than “she is very clumsy” and odd enough i really like the show. i still watch it. the really bad animation is surprisingly what makes me like it even more since it fills me with nostalgia
The Polly Pocket dolls aren’t just rare because of the Mattel acquisition, it is also because the Blue Bird set was completely recalled because they were insane chocking hazards. It was actually one of the biggest doll recalls ever.
So... Myscene was just a counterstrike against Bratz?! Omg. As a kid I never realised this and just loved my dolls. Now as an adult I see the marketing etc xD
Same I had mostly barbies and I loved other doll brands like myscene online games throughout my younger years growing up every web series was so fun to watch
I love the Diva Starz website, it had these episodic games that were sooooo fun to play. They took it down once they took the dolls off the market, I remember going to my favourite website one day and bring heartbroken that it wasn't there anymore 😢
Okay but LIV dolls were highly underrated and I’m sad that the video didn’t seem to like them!! The fact that you could move everything, the fashion and story behind the dolls was realistic, I loved that you could have a favorite doll but change their hair, and yes I personally loved the eyes and how they weren’t painted on.
I remember I was apart of girl scouts back in 2012 and I always thought of how badly I wanted a liv doll (particularly the one with curly amber hair and green eyes) but I never got it :(
I had totally forgotten about the LIV dolls ~I was obsessed with them! I had all their names, quirks & individual stories memorized.. oh goodness I miss them! I'm so sad she didn't like them
I only had one but she was one of my most _favorite_ dolls as a kid! My parents let me pick her out when I was sad that my siblings went to summer camp. It was pleasantly out of character for them, since we usually didn't have enough money to get big stuff outside of birthday/Christmas. She came with a guitar, song writing book, and killer knee high boots 😆
My mom wouldn’t let me have Bratz dolls for the same reasons that you stated so one day when my grandparents let me choose a doll at the toy store I picked a Bratz doll and felt really rebellious (I was like 5)
I was one of the few one whose moms didn't have a problem with Bratz. In fact, my mom once admitted that she liked Bratz's fashion and clothes more than Barbie's.
@@Mazou-tj4ne I never liked Barbie fashion. Imagine wearing same clothes but in real life? Would just look hilarious. Except when the dolls were princesses or fairies, those were awesome and using lots "millennial pink" instead of very bright hot pink. However when MyScene were launched, their fashion was the most realistic and attention to details was much better than Bratz. But Bratz were the original
me while writing, filming, and editing this video: "ah yes i am so confident in my rankings i did such a good job" me seconds after publishing the video and rewatching it: "i've made a huge mistake"
Bratz reign as queen forever: However: MyScene webisodes were my LIFE. I agree that they were older sister/friend archetypes. As the eldest of three girls in my family, I never had anyone to look up to so I really enjoyed the life they portrayed. The games were the best as well and I lived on these websites. PollyPocket was fun in the late nineties and early 2000’s (I’m 25) but they got old quick. Bratz and MyScene dolls were a staple in my childhood and I have my original first Chloe doll lol. I lived with her in my hands, even when I played DreamLife lmao. Ugh. The best. When Monster High dolls came out years later (I was in highschool)-I actually bought a few just to collect. As a Universal Studios monster lover and designer of my own gothic monsters as a kid-I would have loved to add them to my Bratz and MyScene collection.
I know for sure that if Monster High dolls existed when I was little, they'd be most of the doll population in my toy box😂 They're spunky like bratz but a litte darker :) The movies are why I love them, though!
I died a little inside, when one day out of the blue (as an adult) I wanted to go on the website to play the decorate your room game on there but realized the website was dead. I miss that website so much. 😢
Kate Statt which is realistic, like bratz represent something, they’re diverse, and they aren’t all extremely beautiful like barbie. so little girls won’t compare themselves to the barbie dolls
@@katestatt I didn't see it. Barbie looked very akin to realism, but Bratz with their skinny body but huge heads and feet just seemed so cool. Their fashion game was next level compared to Barbie, even now imo. I really dont see how they're ugly. What do you see about Bratz that's ugly?
Sorry, but the facts are that although bratz were popular in the 2000s, barbie was still taking 60% of the doll market between 2000-2009, with my scene, bratz, american girl etc taking the remainder. I believe bratz only had 10% of the share. They were taking a lot of sales away from the barbie brand... but they did not beat barbie in the slightest. Barbie is the Regina George of the doll industry, and she murdered those skanks lol Like literally, bratz aren’t around because barbie was going to sue them, now they are buried under her floorboards.
I got that for Christmas when I was 7 and remote controlled it across the street to show my friends. It had working headlights and seatbelts. Bratz were freaking iconic. And no one can change my mind.
you should do 2010s dolls: monster high, ever after high, bratzillas, novistars, equestria girls, enchantimals, lalaloopsy girls i feel like the fashion doll trend in the 2010s was all about the main groups of girls being something special like aliens or monsters or ragdolls or sum, it's pretty interesting
Ocean Blue In the commercials, once Yasmin appeared her name would be called out first (or cloe’s). Jade or Sasha would always be third or fourth (usually Sasha third and Jade fourth)
I was never a bratz fan. But the myscene dolls were my life back then. I still have most of the dolls. And the masquerade dolls are absolutely gorgeous even today
To me BRATZ dolls were my everything. I had all the cars, play sets, movies, animals, life size dolls, laptops, etc. Anything that was BRATZ i had & still till this day hold in my possession 😭😍. Although I had almost one of every doll on this list, BRATZ dolls will forever hold a special place in my heart because of how independent & diverse they were. & when I have a daughter hopefully they still make them so I can pass them on to her😍.
i had those as a kid and i literally threw it out my window and burried later on i remembered what i did and i tried to dig the doll up and suprise suprise she was still there
Bratz had amazing songs, you need to listen to their albums, they had every detail on every character on their website like their favorite color, number and favorite artist, they also had so many more characters then the main 4. I tell you Bratz had more than cool clothes and nice aesthetic. Yea the movies weren't so great, but other than that they were great and had so much personality!
To me there really is something special about them. I had other 18 inch dolls and have seen others yet. None of them were made with the quality of AG, specifically the hair. I even had a MyTwin doll and her hair got terrible so fast. If taken care of the hair is super amazing and styles so well. Definitely different than most doll hair. It’s high quality enough to be heirloom, and I still have most of my stuff tucked away for future kids.
This is why I don't like Mattel those were my favorite dolls now I have to buy them on eBay and Amazon this sucks and didn't she copied them I mean wow Mattel you copy them then you sue them
with mga, specifically. they try so bad to be as good as mga but the difference, is that mattel just knows how to sell plastic cheap made dolls and sell em for 30 bucks. mga is iconic and pure quality.
I will forever be a Bratz dolls girl, I stg i wouldn't be who I am today without those dolls aesthetic, as soon as I had that Chloe doll that came with the perfume it was over for everyone
Does anyone remember Moxi dolls though. They had came out like around 2009 and I think they were a spin off to Brats or something and also don't forget bratz babies. Very nostalgic video👏🏿
Jailyn Jackson OMG YOU JUST TOOK ME BACK, I REMEMBER THERE WAS THIS MOXI GIRLS APP THAT WAS A COLORING BOOK AND THAT JINGLE THAT WOULD PLAY WHEN YOU OPENED THE APP IS STILL STUCK IN MY HEAD
omg did y'all ever play the myscene makeover game online? i was OBSESSED. also it's crazy seeing the bratz clothing and makeup and realizing how much current trends mirror them. 11:30 is...chef's kiss! edit after watching further: oh my god i'm just now imagining the sheer amout of polly pocket tiny rubber outfits currently sitting in landfills...
OMG I DIDNT KNOW THE MYSCENE CHARACTERS WERE ACTUAL DOLLS. I totally forgot the name until you showed it but I would play their games and watch the show all the time!!!!!!
i really love bratz dolls. it's sad they stopped making them but on their website it says "coming soon" with the background being images of what looks like new dolls with articulation(which is a big plus). not sure if they will be collector dolls like last time or just normal dolls. anyway i really liked this video!
Uhhh the doll lines you can find on shelves at the moment are: LOL Surprise/LOL OMG (by far the biggest one right now, I'm sure you have heard of it) Hairdorables (the main selling point is super long high quality hair) Snapstars (Similar to LIV in appearance, their gimmick is they come with a greenscreen so you can put them in different scenes with the app) Rainbow Surprise (Larger than a typical fashion doll, their gimmick is they come with slime that you make and add to their fashions) Rainbow High. (not yet yet but very soon. Basically smaller, color-themed versions of Rainbow Surprise) Wild Hearts Crew (exclusive to walmart. With sort of vintage fashions) Fresh Dolls (A smaller company that makes black dolls specifically to add more diversity. Unfortunately hard to find unless you live in a really racially diverse area) Creatable world (Androgynous looking dolls that you can dress to look like either a boy or a girl) BTS dolls (dolls that are modeled after members of the kpop group BTS) Project MC2 (dolls that come with a science experiment. The line is meant to encourage girls to get into the STEM field) Capsule Chix (Little dolls that look like robots. Kind of like Betty Spaghetti in that the clothes are actual body parts you sort of frankenstein together) Barbie (Of course. Although the most diverse brand at the moment, it's unfortunately much lower quality than it used to be). Na Na Na Surprise (Dolls that sort of look plush but actually have solid interiors and are somewhat posable) Cave Club (probably the newest doll line on this list. Fashion dolls that are basically stone age/cave people) Equestria girls (basically humanized versions of the my little pony characters) Boxy Girls (Dolls known for having square, box-shaped heads. Probably the cheapest doll on this list) Polly Pocket (they went back to what they used to do where she is super tiny and comes with a pocket-sized playset) Lotta looks (Basically a fashion doll that works like a Mr. Potato head) Candylocks Surprise (a doll that is hidden in long long hair that you unravel) So, SO many disney princess dolls. As you can see there are actually a lot of dolls right now
Lol omg are amazing quality and very aesthetically leading but unforgivably are made my mga which is founded by a racist. Mattel’s Creatable world and new cave-girl dolls are very fun and also high in quality. Barbie has dipped in quality but upped in visuals and diversity and is still number 1
www.gamekidgame.com/barbie_my_scene/my_scene_shopping_spree.html This is the URL 😊 They have both versions of the Shopping Spree game (older and newer characters) and the makeover game I believe.
This whole video was my childhood condensed 😂 I seriously think my American Girl doll obsession is what got me into historical fashion as an adult, because my favorite fashion eras are coincidentally the eras of the dolls I owned as a child. Also: thank you for mentioning Royal Diaries!! I used to LOVE those books and never knew remembered what the series was called!
With all those people complaining like "ThIs DoLl Is OvErSeXuAlIzEd" or "ThIs DoLl Is MaKiNg GiRlS iNsEcUrE" makes me glad my parents never complained about it.
Ya same. My mom always thought that was stupid that the name of the doll was getting backlash. She would just tell me "This is a doll, you don't have to act like it." And at 8 years old, I wasnt really thinking to myself "I'm so sad because I don't look like her!" I would usually think "Maybe I'll get to dress like her when I'm older! But for now I'll just play with this doll, " sheesh. Stop reading so far into toys!
I know. I was always a Barbie girl and hated when I got Bratz dolls. Now I look back and wish I had asked for them instead of Barbies. 😔 Maybe I would’ve had a better fashion sense if I had gotten bratz
I was born in 2006 and I always LOVED monster high dolls, they're creative and diverse and fashionable and the movies were chefs kiss but after watching this I wonder why I wasn't obsessed with bratz too
ngl the barbie movie dolls were EVERYTHING to me. I remember getting the magic of pegasus doll for my fifth birthday and LOVING the singing anneliese and erika dolls :( I think their idea to make movies just to sell dolls inadvertently went stupidly well because I have a whole shelf for barbie movies at age 19 - I could literally write a dissertation on the impact of the barbie cinematic universe on my, and numerous other girls', development. One of my closest guy friends has a younger sister that religiously watches barbie movies (and has taken to watching some of them with her), so they still hold up today Bratz dolls are super iconic but when looking at the brand as a whole, the movie/tv series falls very flat by comparison (although I will hear *no* slander on the bratz games, hours of fun there no matter your age).
BITCH SAMEEEEE i’m also 19 and i LIVE for the Barbie Movies, i don’t care if i’m too old i’m trying to collect all the dolls that i wanted in my childhood 😂 i played with the Magic of Pegasus Annika sooo much as a kid!!!
21 and saaaaame. My and my best friend are actually currently in the middle of a project where we watch every single Barbie movie and rank them and it’s been a blast, honestly! Kinda sad that I stopped watching them a little too early because I really wish I would have bought the Three Musketeers and Mermaid Tale DVDs back when they came out (the new covers are kinda ugly and idk if they have the same special features and menu screen).
Bratz was my entire childhood, I had Barbie dolls but they weren't as fashionable as Bratz for me. I had movies, dolls, playsets etc. Just about anything and everything, later on I had a few MyScene dolls but still I collected Bratz more than those. 😊
@@kenztte i knowww omg. :( i was so disappointed 2 see that. how could they get diversity so right in 2004 and so wrong in 2020? i'm holding on 2 hope that flora will make an appearance in the future (rumor has it terra, a white character, is her replacement). as for musa, her actress is supposedly part singaporean which is better than no asian at all i guess :/
The Myscene dolls just unlocked a hidden memory for me! I watch the movie as a kid and didn’t know there was a doll line! Also I loved Polly Pockets but I never owned any. My cousin had a ton of Polly Pocket dolls and accessories and I was so jealous. Swan Princess and Rapunzel were my favorite Barbie movies.
I felt like I had a war flashback when I heard “PA-LALALA-POLLY” holy hell 🤣🤣 I remember being obsessed with the website & playing the games constantly but completely forgot about that night terror of a “theme song” oh my lord haha
these weren’t in the same timeline, but does anyone remember “Bratzillaz”? the “cousins of the Bratz”? like, a gothic monster version..Also, does anyone remember Novi Starz? they were alien teenagers trying to fit it with humans. I didn’t have any of the dolls (Bratzillaz or Novi Starz) but the shows were on point.
Omg you just unlocked a memory I didnt know I had 😭 I remember being obssessed with bratzillas and religiously watched their webisodes cuz they were more like the edgy and spooky versions of bratz i just loved them!
When I was a child I shoved a Polly Pocket shoe up my nose and almost had to go to the hospital. Not even a week later I shoved a Barbie shoe up my nose. Idk what my fascination was with sticking dolls shoes into my nose but it was a thing I did
I feel you, I shoved a blue beed up my nose once to make my friend laugh as he was being driven away. Probably didn’t even see it. And then I had to keep telling myself over and over not to swallow my marbles 😂
those american girl dolls were so expensive and all my rich classmates would flaunt all their dolls- while i went to the library and read all their books uwu- you have the admit those books were p e r f e c t i o n 🥺💞
I had them as a kid and have them as an adult and I'm a middle class lady (not wealthy) in college and I can honestly say that they are worth the money for the most part. They're built to last
I never had one of the dolls, but I had almost all their books! Their big (horizontal?) books explaining what the world was like during each of the dolls time periods were my OBSESSION. They really Kickstart my love for history and a lot of details in those books were things I never actually ended up learning in school.
I cried when I got an ornament of Molly for Christmas one year cause I was in that too poor for American girl dolls area,Molly will always be my favorite girl.
Fr some of these dolls need to make a comeback besides barbie💀💀 I feel like LOL dolls are the only good doll of this gen tbh. Hopefully they'll bring back bratz. I'm 17 and still obsessed💕💕
Im a boy born in 2006 and my sister was born in 2008. We grew up watching the bratz cartoon and my sister even had a sasha doll. Bruh it was so iconic 😔
bratz had a HUGE influence on me as a child and even now as a 20 year old adult. They were diverse and taught me to love and express myself for who I am.
The key thing with Bratz and therefore what I find lacking with dolls like Monster High, is that their accessories were super detailed and amazing, (they almost all came with 2 whole outfits) and in that way were better than Barbie even now. For example: The Formal Funk lines came with a little memory book and photos, mini make up (like 4 pieces), jewellery and a second dress! That's what today's doll lines are missing IMO.
Barbie and monster high was my whole childhood I literally would play for 6 hours straight a day lmaoo I’m 16 now and honestly I miss playing with dolls , you just get lost in your own little world when playing , i definitely feel it made me more imaginative and creative I miss that feeling 😞kinda makes me sad the younger generation don’t appreciate dolls and actual toys , my daughter will definitely be introduced to REAL toys early on and not an iPad
To be honest my little cousin she is only a toddler loves dolls, baby dolls etc like whenever to she comes over to my house and sees my dolls she instintly jumps to the table. Just to give you a bit more hope lol.
In my opinion you're never too old to play with dolls. One of my favorite RUclips channel's is two grown women making Barbie stop animation only for an older audience
As much as Barbie sucked originally (diversity and inclusion wise), the entire barbie brand has reeeaally stepped up since the early 2000s and I appreciate that so much. When i was younger, I loved them and now that I’m older, I know they’re really trying to make up for their old shortcomings
Early 2000s Barbie dolls were very diverse they had Christie & Nikki both black + Steve Christie’s boyfriend, Kira and Leah both Asian, Teresa latino all Barbies friends in the main line. Barbies sisters Kelly, skipper & Stacie all had a black and Hispanic friend as well. Kelly dolls had the most diverse ethnicity range. Also midge had red hair and freckles. The only thing you didn’t see much of was biracial Barbie dolls until they made the S.O.S. Barbie line.
My sister got a legit Barbie doll with pale skin instead of olive, freckles, really high quality soft curly dark brown hair, and she was actually a realistic body shape. She's absolutely beautiful and it proves dolls can be pretty without being all the same
Yea I love how much the Barbie line has grown over the years! If you look at the dolls now, you will see different body types, skin tones, hair textures/ colors, some have disabilities, etc. I also love how there is a new line in Barbie called made to move barbies where the dolls are fully posable and can move like a human. I just love how amazing the Barbie line is now!
tbh i'm still obsessed with bratz at my 23 years of age lmao. they were my favorite doll line and i still have a few...i obviously don't play with them anymore but it's just nice to look at them and admire their outfits and reminisce on my childhood :(
No one could ever beat bratz overall (the dolls, attention to trends, important life lessons and messages to its young audience, music, media etc. were always on point) but I still loved the other the doll lines especially the myscene minigames and movies.
I work at Spin Master as a designer and I'm honestly so shook at how much thoughtful research went into this video and how incredibly well informed you are. Honestly my favorite channel ❤️
I was OBSESSED with Bratz. Movies, games, dolls, accessories, books, and my big Yasmin doll. My mother was glad that I played with any dolls at all so she was definitely on board.
As a child i had a insane fear of “life-size” dolls so american girl dolls would have been my worst nightmare. We didnt have them available in the UK but as a 20 year old, they are so amazing! I’m shocked to hear of a doll that was fun but educational! ❤️ also the bratz rock angels movie slaps, yal know the main song! dont lie haha
I loved them until I saw this goosebumps thing with this life size doll that try’s to takeover the little girl’s life. Then I wanted to get rid of them and my parents were pissed cause they were expensive but I was seriously terrified.
I really loved my American Girl Dolls because my people, Native Americans, were actually represented. It's especially rare in children's media to see accurate or non racist *CoughPeterPanCough* representation.
I turned 25 last week and idk why, but this video just made me cry. One... because it reminded me how much my mom loves me and did everything for me when I was little - surprising me with at least one of these dolls throughout my childhood. But two... it was a different type of innocence from what I see in kids now. It was a really wonderful time.
As a child of the '90s, thank you for reminding about whatsherface! I'm an adult graphic designer who was an artsy child, and remember loving these. I had a furniture set you could draw on in addition to the dolls. Yeah, the facelessness was a little creepy, but I appreciate the idea. And yes, the Liv dolls had glass eyes and had plastic painted on hair under the wigs.
"Fashion Polly dolls came with rubbery plastic clothes that could be easily worn and removed," and chewed on, don't forget chewed on
We put three polly pockets in my dad's birthday cake one year. kinda mimicking those cakes that have a Barbie-like doll in the middle and the cake is the dress. My sister and I thought those were so cool.
So I'd add singed Polly Pockets to the list too bc we burnt ours. XD
Sometimes they also would randomly snap when you tried putting them on or removing them.
Your comment just brought back such distinct memories 😆 wow
OMG yes, I forgot all about the rubbery clothes and she brought it up I remember I used to chew them😂
The purple dress/boots hit different 😤😤😂😂
Bratz were the *most* iconic doll brand of the 2000s. From fashion, to design, to movies, to even music. Truly encapsulated the 2000s. They literally had Mattel shook and influenced so many brands. They had the girls scrambling.
Yesss I had so many bratz 😭👸
I had a purple bratz TV and a ton of the movies 😭✋
And boys.
Too bad I was not born at that time
My nana got me some but my holy mother threw them out 😭
Girl don’t lie, it was nearly impossible to put on those rubber clothes on Polly. The struggle was real lol🤣
Then the sleeves would snap
Omg they were so hard
All of my polly pockets were barefoot and had like no sleeves 😔
when they would get stuck on the hands and feet
Yes.
BRATZ were so important to me as a child. I’m white / Mexican mixed & initially loved Yasmin the most because of that but would play with them all equally & who I thought was prettiest constantly changed. The representation was really so important.
When I was little I only liked Barbie dolls I didn’t care about the representation
mi faw was yamin too girl
And even if I hardly played with her I remmebrr always thinking "we look the same that's so cool!"
samee, i loved yasmin
I’m only quarter Mexican and I always thought Yasmin was the prettiest!
I swear if Bratz were still in stores I would most definitely buy one, even though I'm 21 🤷♀️ They are just so damn good...
There are new limited edition Bratz available in stores, at least here in Australia. Was so tempted to buy one!
you could still buy them. at thrift stores, online on amazon but you find better stuff on ebay.
Definitely check out Mercari, local FB Marketplace, and Ebay before Amazon. But the 2018 Collector Bratz are still in stock on Amazon.
Definitely check the Facebook marketplace. I scored 200 MH, Bratz, Winx, and more for $1 each!
my mom wouldn’t let me have the for the fear that i would come to dress slutty when i grew up. well me getting my clothing ideas from BRATZ didn’t work out the way she wanted did it?
Bratz had characters of different races which made me love Bratz growing up
@Barbz Fan why
@Barbz Fan oh funny cause barbie was the same as bratz dolls but except not as badass as them
I remember buying my first Sasha and my grandparents being so pissed that I wanted a black doll. 😒🙄
exactly and i was so happy when they made sasha black
AliceWatches Stuff they still are. It sucks.
since my mom didn’t really care about how “mature” the dolls look, I had like 20 bratz dolls. I still have most of them 💀
Lucky
You were smart, I gave away my dolls and accessories and I regret it so much now 😭😭😭
Lucky u the only bratz doll I could get was baby yasmin
My mom still lets me watch my remaining monster high movies, she said "because i could watch them, they were meant for my current age anyways"
You're so lucky 😭😭
“I - I think I know more about American girl dolls than you do, genius.” - the TRUE icon
That's all I could think of at the American doll part😭
i was surprised/disapointed she didnt put that as the intro to the american girl section as oposed to ALL the jingles she compilated for the other dolls
Yes Barbie!
OOOHHHHHH
So that's what she said!
Since I have 4 American Girl dolls, I reference this vine A LOT
Remember when my scene goes Hollywood was a thing. I still have the movie
Everytime i watch that movie i just laugh thinking of how badly it aged💀💀
Lucky 🍀 I miss that movie.
Lifeasweknowit. * it’s weird because it aged badly but it’s still iconic in my mind so like I can’t decide how I feel about it
Masquerade Madness was the shit.
The music in that movie kinda snapped
Oh shit. When that MyScene theme hit my ears it was like I traveled back in time to my first obsession of the internet.....dress up games.
Linlee1000 SAME
Ditto
Yuppp
Omg yesss and the movies!
I KNOW I KNOW
Bratz easily.
THAT PART
Same! Bratz proportions were just off and Barbie was not at exciting. Myscene was everything!
Ooof, same. I played all the Flash games with my sisters. I tried looking for them last year, but they're mostly defunct now.
Yes!
My first doll was a myscene doll. Lovely doll
The original Monster High dolls looked like MyScene
You also have to remember how huge the “Look Like Me” style of American Dolls were. It was revolutionary for the brand and SO many little girls (including myself) were desperate to get one. A lot of girls, though they liked the historical characters, still leaned towards ones that looked like them and strayed from ones who didn’t, so inventing the Look Like Me style was crucial to keep the business rolling.
They started that actually because Mattel bought American Girl in the late 90's.
Not gonna lie, got the Samantha doll because I couldn't get both a historical doll and a Look Like Me doll, so I got the historical doll that looked most like me (actual fave historical girl at that time was Josephina).
wilde child, kinda same, my mom got me "emily" cause she had the same name as me and same hair color, so i thought she looked kinda like me (now that i look back i look nothing like her-)
That and the girl of the year line after 2005
@Khamilla Lopes Those are the ones I got
I didn’t even know that MyScene was a doll. I only remember being obsessed with their online games
Same
I used to be obsessed with the cartoon it seemed interesting😭😭
Yeah I though they were game characters and I was obsessed with that room makeover game.
Luckily i had 3 of them.
I had one with the hair diamond thing. I lost all of my little diamonds and the pen broke
I have the doll to this day though
My music teacher was obsesed with Barbie. She had a whole room in her tiny apartment dedicated to her historic Barbie collection, it was pretty impressive and *aesthetic* .
I'm Hispanic and I've never felt so connected to a doll's character more than Yasmin.
Lol my friends name is Yazmin
Girl same lol I I identified with her so much
I'm from Pakistan and was also obsessed with Yasmin
I remember I used to think that Yasmin was lightskinned 😭😂
Jasmine K she’s Mexican watch the live action movies
I do NOT remember Polly pocket clothes being “easily removable” LOL. I remember getting a workout in trying to put on and take off clothes
ikr, i kept breaking the thin sleeve straps.
Then you put a ponytail in their hair with a scrunchie/hair tie that's too heavy and it makes their head snap back...lol
The shoes were hell for me
They used to rip WAY too easily. I remember being afraid to disrobe the polly pockets of my friends because of the high risk that I would rip a seam or something. I wasn't about to mess up somebody else's property at age 7 😅
I personally LOVED My Scene and was so sad they weren’t bigger
I FEEL BAD 4 U!!!
I always thought they were EHH and seeing how they were made in response and pretty much to copy Bratz makes me think ehhhh even more.
I know like she said they were more mature that’s why I’ve always love them
"No monster high"
...alright sis. you're walking on thin, thin ice, but go on.
"No bionicles"
OH GOD FUCKING DAMNIT
:(
Monster High is nostalgic especially its theme song), but it’s from the 2010s, not the 2000s.
🤣🤣🤣
BIONICLES REDEFINED FASHION
I would love a 2010s remake with Monster High, LOL and more.
glad to know im not the only one who's internet addiction started with dress up games lmao
I never got out of my Dress Up games phase. Im 20 and play a Chinese dress-up app and I live on Sims 3 bc of their Create a Sim option
Haha same!
Weird. So many of us had such similar childhoods
Dude my childhood is flooding back to me and I lOvE iT-
(STORY TIME! I always played fashion games and enjoyed mixing and matching until I made a outfit deemed acceptable to my kid brain, I played this one fashion game for its music. I can’t remember much since I’m oLd but the music made me feel like edna mode, it was THAT GOOD-)
Dress up who . Com was my shiiiiit for sooo long
Something abt everyone hating bratz and the diversity and then copying them to sell and get popular in market, does not sit right with me.
Cheese Crust take2 yes!!!!
Especially hating the urban style and “big lips” saying it’s too sexualised makes me 🧐.
Glowing Karma big lips being too sexual is basically saying most African Americans are sexual
ModernGurlz: Polly Pocket.
Me: has flashbacks of spending hours looking for a shoe.
the only memory of polly pockets I have is chewing on all the clothes and slowly losing all of the accessories until I'm just left with the dollhouse😭
I had the Polly Pocket limo set and I loved it
I had the polly pocket suitcase doll house XD
my mom kept all of our fashion polly shoes in a bag and would only give us each one pair at a time to play with lol
@@myettechase What do you mean Josefina’s ear melted off?
@@tundra-bun she fell against the radiator and landed so that her ear was on the hottest part...it melted into a weird little nub
And my parents ended up buying the right ones :/
the bratz series were everything! I still watch them till this day, and i'm 22 lol
Me too , I still got my bratz dolls and I'm 19 .
sameeeeeee, and bratz babys
The show was nice! But the animation aged horribly lol
same here!!
i’m 20 and not ashamed of it lol
I feel like the some of the style and outfits bratz wore still hold up today, but like is known a type of aesthetic style
it's honestly just 2000s fashion but because nostalgia is at its most prominent now it's become its own aesthetic. so yes they technically do hold up
There's this book I read (I'm not going to name it because I don't recommend it) which talked at length about the impact of Barbie in setting beauty standards and fashion trends in women who grew up playing with them (it was written in the mid 2000s) so it would make sense that now the generation that grew up playing bratz would also be heavily influenced by the dolls
Rubaba Rehman Absolutely! It’s never too late to start collecting again!
i think bratz is honestly genius with giving them names and personalities that go father than “she is very clumsy” and odd enough i really like the show. i still watch it. the really bad animation is surprisingly what makes me like it even more since it fills me with nostalgia
The whole budget went to the hair animation 💀🤣🤣🤣
The computer games MADE my childhood especially the polly pocket and my scene ones omg
YES!!! myscene and polly pocket just hit different. hell even the barbie games.
Haha same!
yesss same
I still play the my scene games when I'm bored
I used to love the Barbie website until it changed lol
The Polly Pocket dolls aren’t just rare because of the Mattel acquisition, it is also because the Blue Bird set was completely recalled because they were insane chocking hazards. It was actually one of the biggest doll recalls ever.
The American girl history mysteries books slapped as a child.
And the Royal Diaries. I still read those!
Yes to both of these
Felicity and Elizabeth's books were always a favorite for me. The iconicism
YES I still have all of my american girl things. It literally defined my childhood
Samantha was my favorite.
So... Myscene was just a counterstrike against Bratz?! Omg. As a kid I never realised this and just loved my dolls. Now as an adult I see the marketing etc xD
I also just realized that the Bratzillaz dolls were a pathetic copy of Monster High dolls
I kinda noticed it, but didn’t think too much
I kinda noticed it, but didn’t think too much
Dont lie, those myscene online games were the best.
The flashbacks when she showed the website hit me, polly pocket too
yes and polly pocket
The 100th like. ♡
I'm so sad she didn't like them
sameee daniella is still my favorite doll 😭
I thought the LIV dolls were great and I loved the hair, but I am a parent and they weren't as popular with my girls. I don't know why!!
My mom wouldn’t let me have Bratz dolls for the same reasons that you stated so one day when my grandparents let me choose a doll at the toy store I picked a Bratz doll and felt really rebellious (I was like 5)
I just could lend my hands on a bratz baby doll...
Awww I couldn't get bratz bc I was a boy😩
My mom didn't like their giant heads but then someone gifted me a Bratz and later mother started liking the fashion of Bratz dolls
But Bratz were the original
me while writing, filming, and editing this video: "ah yes i am so confident in my rankings i did such a good job"
me seconds after publishing the video and rewatching it: "i've made a huge mistake"
gob ghostwrote this
What was the mistake? 👀 We won't judge Queen
i spent a lot of time debating if barbie or bratz should get 1st and went with barbie. now i regret that decision 🙂
You arrested developmented your comment... amazing video, i really enjoyed
@@ModernGurlz honey; Barbie's better.
Don't regret it.
The Bratz movies were absolutely iconic! The animation was kinda shit, but I still find them really funny and interesting even today.
ikr true
Me too . I'm 19 and I still have my bratz dolls and movies hidden in a box .
Did anyone play the game on the PS2? I did and it was fun! :)

20 here and I watch them a lot
Eyyy same here
I’ve been trying to watch the movies but I can’t find anything online
I'm 20 and i still do 💀🤣
It might just be me, but I’ve never found anything wrong with the Bratz movies/shows animations
same~😭
Same
Me too, they’re so fashionable
Same
same, I LOVE the animation so much😭
bratz were SO ICONIC to me growing up, they still are tbh, something about their style just speaks to me
Bratz reign as queen forever:
However: MyScene webisodes were my LIFE.
I know for sure that if Monster High dolls existed when I was little, they'd be most of the doll population in my toy box😂 They're spunky like bratz but a litte darker :) The movies are why I love them, though!
ollDeadfishllo the movies and webisodes are so good!!! I watched them as a late teen and adult lmao 😂
I died a little inside, when one day out of the blue (as an adult) I wanted to go on the website to play the decorate your room game on there but realized the website was dead. I miss that website so much. 😢
DREAM LIFE omg my fave
Dreamlife whoa that takes me way back.
the american girl/royal diaries are the reason i have such an interest in history and fashion history
tbh? same
I'm sorry but while Barbie probably is the most iconic doll line overall, the bratz are DEFINITELY more iconic to the 2000's.
Ida Danzig but they’re so ugly
Barbie is the Regina George of the doll industry, and she murdered those skanks lol
Like literally, bratz aren’t around because barbie was going to sue them, now they are buried under her floorboards.
@@xoxbbygirl1012 I agree but bratz looked way better than basic barbie
I miss bratz soooo much. I used to play with them for HOURS. I even had the little Cadillac that played real local radio stations 😢
Wait thats sooo cool! I would love that as like a little radio in my room!
Im 12 but i really want a bratz doll they are literally mwa 😚 i especially love the fashion
Me, too! I had the sushi bar and tent, too. Lol I had the whole band set, too. I loved Bratz so much.
I had the bratz rock angels stage
I got that for Christmas when I was 7 and remote controlled it across the street to show my friends. It had working headlights and seatbelts. Bratz were freaking iconic. And no one can change my mind.
I’m 25 but I still fully live for Bratz & My Scene. The movies, games etc still hold up today, true icons.
Same! I’m also 25 and I’m a Bratz and MyScene stan forever
I’m going on 20 & my sister 27 & we forever live for Bratz
The more I think about it, I realize more how iconic the Bratz dolls were
you should do 2010s dolls: monster high, ever after high, bratzillas, novistars, equestria girls, enchantimals, lalaloopsy girls
i feel like the fashion doll trend in the 2010s was all about the main groups of girls being something special like aliens or monsters or ragdolls or sum, it's pretty interesting
There was a HUGE inspiration from genre fiction for sure
YES OMG LIKE SO SHE SEES THIS
Omg yessss I loved all of those dolls😂
I was obsessed w monster high and ever aftert high dolls. I had 200 MH and 100 EAH dolls. I used to inspire my clothes after them🥺
Ever after high dolls
Did anyone notice, that even if a doll line has diverse characters, the blond white doll is always the main girl?
Regina George is typing...
Heather Chandler is typing harder...
@@toffeeofthesnails XD
I thought Yasmin was kinda the main-ish character in Bratz
yes unfortunately
Ocean Blue In the commercials, once Yasmin appeared her name would be called out first (or cloe’s). Jade or Sasha would always be third or fourth (usually Sasha third and Jade fourth)
"Rubbery plastic clothes that could be easily worn and removed" lol did you ever try putting a pair of those rubber pants on a Polly Pocket doll??
ikr they were so god damn hard to put on
fr
I remember just chewing on them
Looking back this is so disgusting, but my sister and I would just spit into them and they'd slide right on
I WAS THINKING THE EXACT SAME THING. It was the OPPOSITE of easy
Bratz are what Bad Boujiee Bitches today played with 😌✨
You can get some on eBay and Amazon you might be able to find some in the store but I haven't seen them for 5 years
You can buy their last 2018 collector collection on Amazon
u know that bigass BRATZ head/mannequin thing, the one u would beat when it moved, i learned how to braid hair with it
Imani Wilson I remember having the life sized one, I wish I still had my old dolls
The myscene commercial with the dolls moving their faces is TERRIFYING

Bratz had amazing songs, you need to listen to their albums, they had every detail on every character on their website like their favorite color, number and favorite artist, they also had so many more characters then the main 4. I tell you Bratz had more than cool clothes and nice aesthetic. Yea the movies weren't so great, but other than that they were great and had so much personality!
I LOVED the Bratz games!
The bratz most definitely had some dope soundtracks that I still listen to till this day 😂
There was so much love and care put into that franchise and they were AHEAD OF THEIR TIME
My scene had that too......
Ditto on the "why are these so expensive?" for American Girl, but I loved the books as a kid. My favorites were Kaya, Josefina, and Felicity.
i had samantha, mary ellen, and i had the girl of the year grace from 2015 because she looked just like me and i loved paris stuff
Sis, Dont lie. Bratz werent a "Doll Line" They were a lifestyle
Gurl you said that soooo right
For real

Let’s be honest- Mattel was jealous and obsessed with the Bratz
Yes they were jealous about their creativity
rainbow jealousy is another thing!
Yes, they made it so obvious too
I will forever be a Bratz dolls girl, I stg i wouldn't be who I am today without those dolls aesthetic, as soon as I had that Chloe doll that came with the perfume it was over for everyone
Does anyone remember Moxi dolls though. They had came out like around 2009 and I think they were a spin off to Brats or something and also don't forget bratz babies. Very nostalgic video👏🏿

YES!! That was my favourite game. I watched the episode of the mini show where they went snow boarding all the time too.

i really love bratz dolls. it's sad they stopped making them but on their website it says "coming soon" with the background being images of what looks like new dolls with articulation(which is a big plus). not sure if they will be collector dolls like last time or just normal dolls. anyway i really liked this video!
They’re still making them! They’ve recently returned back to the old 2000s style their fans know and love.
my question is: whats the doll market now? like i literally have no idea what younger kids are doing now besides watching cringy youtube videos..
Uhhh the doll lines you can find on shelves at the moment are:
LOL Surprise/LOL OMG (by far the biggest one right now, I'm sure you have heard of it)
Hairdorables (the main selling point is super long high quality hair)
Snapstars (Similar to LIV in appearance, their gimmick is they come with a greenscreen so you can put them in different scenes with the app)
Rainbow Surprise (Larger than a typical fashion doll, their gimmick is they come with slime that you make and add to their fashions)
Rainbow High. (not yet yet but very soon. Basically smaller, color-themed versions of Rainbow Surprise)
Wild Hearts Crew (exclusive to walmart. With sort of vintage fashions)
Fresh Dolls (A smaller company that makes black dolls specifically to add more diversity. Unfortunately hard to find unless you live in a really racially diverse area)
Creatable world (Androgynous looking dolls that you can dress to look like either a boy or a girl)
BTS dolls (dolls that are modeled after members of the kpop group BTS)
Project MC2 (dolls that come with a science experiment. The line is meant to encourage girls to get into the STEM field)
Capsule Chix (Little dolls that look like robots. Kind of like Betty Spaghetti in that the clothes are actual body parts you sort of frankenstein together)
Barbie (Of course. Although the most diverse brand at the moment, it's unfortunately much lower quality than it used to be).
Na Na Na Surprise (Dolls that sort of look plush but actually have solid interiors and are somewhat posable)
Cave Club (probably the newest doll line on this list. Fashion dolls that are basically stone age/cave people)
Equestria girls (basically humanized versions of the my little pony characters)
Boxy Girls (Dolls known for having square, box-shaped heads. Probably the cheapest doll on this list)
Polly Pocket (they went back to what they used to do where she is super tiny and comes with a pocket-sized playset)
Lotta looks (Basically a fashion doll that works like a Mr. Potato head)
Candylocks Surprise (a doll that is hidden in long long hair that you unravel)
So, SO many disney princess dolls.

Those shopkins and LOL dolls. My cousin and her friends LOVE them
This content is QUALITY. I'm almost 22 and I still sometimes play the Myscene games from everything girl 😂😂
Omg same! I literally played the MyScene games the other day 👀
I totally forgot the game but im going to play it right nowww
What?! They're still available? Where? :D :D :D
omg same u guys got a link?? i neeed them !!!
www.gamekidgame.com/barbie_my_scene/my_scene_shopping_spree.html This is the URL 😊 They have both versions of the Shopping Spree game (older and newer characters) and the makeover game I believe.
Let's be real, we all used to go on the myscene and bratz websites and play the games etc
I'm one of them 😂
Guilty! 😌
i miss them 💔
My favorite was princess and the pauper with Barbie
I remember playing on the American Girl website all the time as a kid
This whole video was my childhood condensed 😂 I seriously think my American Girl doll obsession is what got me into historical fashion as an adult, because my favorite fashion eras are coincidentally the eras of the dolls I owned as a child. Also: thank you for mentioning Royal Diaries!! I used to LOVE those books and never knew remembered what the series was called!

With all those people complaining like "ThIs DoLl Is OvErSeXuAlIzEd" or "ThIs DoLl Is MaKiNg GiRlS iNsEcUrE" makes me glad my parents never complained about it.
Saying big lips is sexualizing is kinda racist

As a kid i considered Bratz dolls as “those girls” dolls but looking back they look epic
Perioddd
same
I know. I was always a Barbie girl and hated when I got Bratz dolls. Now I look back and wish I had asked for them instead of Barbies. 😔 Maybe I would’ve had a better fashion sense if I had gotten bratz
Same!
Bratz dolls always felt like they were the kind of dolls for kids whose parents had lots of money.
One of my closest guy friends has a younger sister that religiously watches barbie movies (and has taken to watching some of them with her), so they still hold up today
Bratz dolls are super iconic but when looking at the brand as a whole, the movie/tv series falls very flat by comparison (although I will hear *no* slander on the bratz games, hours of fun there no matter your age).
My favorite is Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses! However, modern Barbie movies aren't as great as their older counterparts :(
My sister had her
21 and saaaaame.
I wasn’t into Barbie, a friend of mine was. She had soooo many Barbie toys that she would come over to my house to play with lol!
Bratz was my entire childhood, I had Barbie dolls but they weren't as fashionable as Bratz for me. I had movies, dolls, playsets etc. Just about anything and everything, later on I had a few MyScene dolls but still I collected Bratz more than those. 😊
Winx club and bratz dolls are everything!!
omg winx club 😭💕
i love winx club so much.
indie flop queen yes but sadly they’ve replaced poc characters with white actresses :/
The Winx Club transformations were ICONIC. I loved the Sirenix song so much.

I didn’t have any of the dolls (Bratzillaz or Novi Starz) but the shows were on point.

When I was a child I shoved a Polly Pocket shoe up my nose and almost had to go to the hospital. Not even a week later I shoved a Barbie shoe up my nose. Idk what my fascination was with sticking dolls shoes into my nose but it was a thing I did
😂
...bruh💀
I thought I was the only one.... I actually had to go to the hospital though. Was absolutely terrifying.
Lol WHY did you do that 😂😂😂
I feel you, I shoved a blue beed up my nose once to make my friend laugh as he was being driven away.
They're built to last
TheHamtori I have 3 and I have them locked in a body bag
I never had one of the dolls, but I had almost all their books! Their big (horizontal?) books explaining what the world was like during each of the dolls time periods were my OBSESSION. They really Kickstart my love for history and a lot of details in those books were things I never actually ended up learning in school.
I cried when I got an ornament of Molly for Christmas one year cause I was in that too poor for American girl dolls area,Molly will always be my favorite girl.
Me too, but my mum got me a few of the amazing books💖 so I didn't have to constantly check them out from the library
Bratz was my Barbie. I LOVED Bratz! I actually really liked the movies too! Don't get me wrong, I love Barbie movies too!!

bratz had a HUGE influence on me as a child and even now as a 20 year old adult.
They came with all of that, and were affordable. Dolls that come with so much stuff now are like nearly $30 or more
No doll has ever been as fashionably hip as the Bratz. No even Barbie.
Try Rainbow High dolls. They actually come with so many other outfits you'd be amazed.
I found my sexual awakening through barbies and monster high dolls, clawdeen got me fcked up😥😥😥🔥🔥🔥

As much as Barbie sucked originally (diversity and inclusion wise), the entire barbie brand has reeeaally stepped up since the early 2000s and I appreciate that so much. When i was younger, I loved them and now that I’m older, I know they’re really trying to make up for their old shortcomings
Stepped up diversity wise, stepped down quality wise
Early 2000s Barbie dolls were very diverse they had Christie & Nikki both black + Steve Christie’s boyfriend, Kira and Leah both Asian, Teresa latino all Barbies friends in the main line. Barbies sisters Kelly, skipper & Stacie all had a black and Hispanic friend as well. Kelly dolls had the most diverse ethnicity range. Also midge had red hair and freckles. The only thing you didn’t see much of was biracial Barbie dolls until they made the S.O.S. Barbie line.
I love the Barbie movies and I still watch them, but the dolls aren’t that diverse sadly
THIS IS THE ULTIMATE NOSTALGIA TRIP, I forgot about those Royal Diaries books!! I read so many of them as a kid omg
bratz absolutely paved the way. my mom never let me play with them, so i had to hide the ones my friends gave me as gifts lol
tbh i'm still obsessed with bratz at my 23 years of age lmao. they were my favorite doll line and i still have a few...i obviously don't play with them anymore but it's just nice to look at them and admire their outfits and reminisce on my childhood :(

No one could ever beat bratz overall (the dolls, attention to trends, important life lessons and messages to its young audience, music, media etc. were always on point) but I still loved the other the doll lines especially the myscene minigames and movies.
About Betty Spaghetty
You: Their design is adorable.
Me, seeing them for the first time aged 20: They're nightmare material...
Me with Diva Starz😂
i LOVED them at the time 😂😂😂
I work at Spin Master as a designer and I'm honestly so shook at how much thoughtful research went into this video and how incredibly well informed you are. Honestly my favorite channel ❤️
If you guys ever bring back Liv, please sell them in Europe as well 😜
I was OBSESSED with Bratz.
Lol I still own the movie on dvd the soundtrack does slap and it remains iconic
I turned 25 last week and idk why, but this video just made me cry. One... because it reminded me how much my mom loves me and did everything for me when I was little - surprising me with at least one of these dolls throughout my childhood. But two... it was a different type of innocence from what I see in kids now. It was a really wonderful time.
I agree, and happy belated birthday!!
Ngl, Barbie Life in a Dreamhouse slaps! So did American Girl movies.
I still love that show
Love that show back in middle school it was so funny
I never got around to watch ag movies but BLITD was GOLD
@Tenzin Nordon Disagree.
