She didn't owe her friend a hug she gave one because there was a real reason other then friendship I'm not the biggest fan of hugs but I'd let my friend and hug my friend back if they went through something traumatic for me because then it's deserved (I'm autistic idk if that makes anything make more since but I don't just push everyone away normally people I don't know or people that have fucked me over or I don't trust I don't hug and or don't like getting hugs it's weird idk)
What I didn’t like about the 3D animated movies was how disapproving morticia was of her daughters girly interests. I feel like the whole point of the Addams family is that they’re weird, but unlike most sitcom family to come before them, they actually loved and supported each other Morticia can be disinterested (and kind of disgusted) with pink outfits and pageants, but she would NEVER stop her daughter from experimenting with unconventional (to her) stuff
Based on the first 3D movie, I would not be surprised if Morticia greatest fear is that her family falls to conformity. Considering the "normal" people were the ones who drove her and Gomez out of their original home, she's terrified that Wednesday will end up like them.
I think Addams Family Values shows this really well. At first when Pubert starts to turn into a normal baby, they are horrified but later we see Morticia sitting in his regular kid's room reading Dr Suess to him. She clearly hates every second of it, but she does it anyway because Puberty seems to enjoy it
In the 1960s version of the Addams family there is an episode where Pugsly gets into normals things like a puppy, Boy Scouts, playing with other children, and Morticia and Gomez are not pleased. They think there is something wrong with Pugsley and they spend the episode trying to fix him by going to a psychiatrist. It feels like the pressure on their kids to be different was there from close to the start.
I do wish modern interpretations would kind of go back to the 90's and 60's close knit family dynamic. I get there needs to be conflict, but I love that I can watch tons of episodes of the 60's show, and never have a single question as to whether every single person in that family adores each other.
I love the 60’s show, it’s what I grew up watching and I wished for the new adaptation they wouldn’t feel the need to be so formulaic (teenage girl in a magical school that has a big role to play), I feel like the only thing separating this show to any other is the aesthetic and the idea of the character. It’s still good but not that original
@@Katiafliger I 100% agree. It’s not that Wednesday can’t have frustrations with her family, she can, but when she is set in such strong opposition to them, it looses the essence of what ‘Addams Family’ is. Plus, the way the new Wednesday (show) portrays this conflict is jarringly juvenile.
This was my major complaint with the new version. One of the major aspects of the Addams Family in my opinion is the judgment they face for being different and how healthy of a family they actually are. The humor plays on that perfectly. With adding “normal” conflict between teens and parents it now has trivialized one of the greatest statements of the Addams Family.
Wednesday clearly loves her family she doesn't want to be in her mom's shadow and that's valid y'all have herd of character development right like takes time
While Christina was the Wednesday I grew up with, and will always be THE Wednesday to me, I was so impressed by Jenna's iteration. She completely made the role her own, without trying to copy Christina's or any other version. As a bonus, we got to see both of them play off each other! 🖤 🕸️
Christina walked so Jenna can run. Don't get me wrong, I loved Jenna's Wednesday and I love her modern style, but to me she's a more flawed version of the cool and collected Wednesday that Christina cemented and gathered 3 decades of dedicated fans. She will always be the standard.
If you think Christina is better than Jenna why did you say that Christina walked and Jenna runned? It's the other way around!!The one who"runs"should be the _better_ one,not simply"the one who came later"!!
@@Nicamon Hmm I didn't know it can be the other way around. Logically, one must walk first before they can run... So it should be "Christina ran so Jenna can walk"? It's a bit counterintuitive but English is not my first language
Jenna Ortega did an amazing job, but the way they wrote the character for her seems so odd. The troubled relationship she had with her parents, *especially* with Morticia, was such a bizarre choice that did a major disservice to the characters imo. One of the main defining characteristics of the Addams family is how close and loving they are despite how strange they may seem. Ignoring the way this was meant to subvert the classic nuclear family trope is crazy
it makes sense tho. like, just bc wednesday and her mom dont get along doesnt mean the love isnt still there. i think it even solidifies the family's love for eachother, because even tho wednesday is being a bitchy teen, like most, her family still love and care about her.
I have mixed feelings about it. My hope is that through the show Wednesday will grow as a character and we'll have the payoff of the quintessential Addams Family and their tight bond to each other. I don't hate it, because it reflects the typical teenage rebellious attitude that one would expect from someone her age. And it also gives the character more depth.
@@vko. the thing is, she isn't supposed to be a bitchy teen. She's supposed to be a full blown Psychopath. but they dumbed it down to whatever the hell this new series is so it would be more acceptable in today's society.
But maybe they went in that direction since the Jenna Ortega version is a teenager and most teenagers go through a phase where theyre at odds with their parents and wanting to find their own identity.
Let's admit, Christina Ricci defined Wednesday. She might not be the first one to do it but she was the one who made it such an icon. And everyone's following her blueprints. Adult Wednesday follows close second and the 90's cartoon third.
@@melarie205 melissa hunter!! you can’t find the original videos on her channel anymore sadly, but many people re-uploaded them though if you look em up!
agreed. i love her execution of wednesday from what she was given. the wednesday show was a mess imo. i wish i could like enid but her acting was so bad and a lot of her delivery was very “you can tell she’s acting.”
@@clarityvee I actually loved Enid, and I think the point of her "you can tell she's acting" was intentional given her outcast status and relationship with her family. Her bubbly nature was her form of rebellion in polar opposite to Wednesday's approach which is why they were such a good pairing, and therefore it was a persona she had to willfully and forcefully maintain. I think overall the cast did quite well with what they were given, but I agree 100% that a lot of the writing skirted too far into CW territory and the whole 'love triangle' trope needs to die by steam powered guillotine.
@@Dilligff thats true! i like how her own form of rebellion was direct opposite of what most expect of kids “going through a rebellious phase.” but even in the first episode when she says “careful, this kitty has claws,” it felt very … stage like? i’m not familiar with her actress or if she even did stage acting, so i can’t compare it to her other works. i wonder how much of it was a direction thing, or maybe that’s just how her actress speaks lol.
Preach, I love how Wednesday got kicked out of school for going after the jerks who bullied Pugsley. I wish that the entire Addams clan had more screentime in the new TV series.
I never got fonded of any version of Pugsley...except the one from this year's spin-off...and he's in the *only* series that doesn't focus on the whole family AKA the only version where *I can't see him!D-X* That's so unfair!!FOR ONCE that I like a Pugsley I'm stuck with his Discount Version AKA Eugene!😫💔
I sort of agree, Pugsley is very underrated, but it's kinda hard to be the spot-light when you are competing with a little serial killer who's sarcastic humour literally constructed part of today's media.
Christina is the gold standard Wednesday. It's predictable because it's true. Also, there are countless teenage characters whose plot-lines revolve around rebellion against their parents. It's rare to see a teenager who's fiercely loyal to and inspired by their family, while being anything but a goodie-two-shoes.
That's what I've been trying to say! It would be so, so refreshing. Especially as someone who, as a teenager, was that way. I'm a young adult, so I still remember most of my teen years, and while I had a rebellious/emo phase; I luckily got out of it early. Still easily snapped and still do, but I was definitely what's considered a "goody two shoes." Still considered that too, I'm sure, haha. It seriously needs to be represented more, and I feel as if Wednesday would've been perfect for that. The "rebellious/angsty teenager" is very, very overdone in my opinion. It really is like finding a rare gem to see the opposite. I seriously would have liked the new show, as I don't personally like it (for *various* of reasons, mind you), if they based it around Wednesday standing out from the crowd due to her being so close and prideful of her family, while everyone else either takes theirs for granted or has some legitimate issues in their own. What I always enjoyed, as well, was the core of the Addams Family is that they tend to think that their version of normal isn't bizarre or "stands out from the crowd" at all. Hopefully I'm not wrong on that, but that's what I remember. If they wanted conflict in the new show, it could've been Wednesday discovering that most of the world is the complete opposite of her family, but that's okay. And for character development? She could've helped others with their own family and other troubles, once she grew close to them. Would probably try to help in her own macabre ways, unless those she cared about requested her not to. Another conflict, which would probably be the start, could've been she *tries* to make friends; but not everyone is like her brother Pugsley, where they'll carelessly laugh at a giant, poisonous spider under their pillow as a "simple, harmless prank." Those are all just my thoughts, though. Let me know what you think! I wholeheartedly agree with your comment. Even though I think Christina's Wednesday was probably the opposite of a few of what I've described, as my memory is kinda blurry.
Thats really interesting we mostly get the age old toxic parents trope the biggest usp of adams how supportive they are to there children. We need more such supportive family portrayal in cinema .
Christina has the aura that no other interpretation of Wednesday can touch. What made her stand out, was how unsuspectingly and wickedly brilliant a young doll faced girl could be. It made her scary as well. You just know you wouldn’t leave sharps or open flames around her 😂✊💯
This is what I was trying to articulate on another video for the new Wednesday and got so much hate for it. I even clearly stated that I like the new Wednesday. She just wasn’t dark enough. For me, Wednesday’s darkness (not slightly emo, or a little bit angsty), but her psychopathic aura is a big part of what makes her Wednesday. If a version of Wednesday doesn’t scare you it’s not completely right. Yes, Wednesday can have friends and a boyfriend but if we’re not worried that she’ll kill them at any moment, is it even Wednesday. Christina Ricci’s performance is being slightly devalued by this younger generation, I think. They assume that we all think she’s iconic because she was the first (she wasn’t), but in fact, it’s because she was the best. Her version resonated because it was so well done. If it wasn’t as well done, it wouldn’t be so iconic. It would be yet another character in yet another movie that no one remembers. If we had the 90s version of Wednesday (heck the whole cast) debuting for the first time now, it would instantly be labelled iconic. It was a once in a lifetime performance where everything came together to produce magic. It’s up there with Heath Ledger’s Joker, American Psycho, Forrest Gump, Terminator, Ripley from Alien etc.
Christina Ricci hands down. That said, I very much enjoy Jenna Ortega's interpretation and I'm looking forward to the next season, though hopefully with a less "CW" vibe.
Lisa(feels like Wednesday as a 5-6 year old), Cristina(feels like Wednesday as a 9-13 year old), jenna(a teenage Wednesday), Melissa (feals like college Wednesday). All of these just feel like different parts of the same girls life (but Jenna has the best wardrobe I must admit)
At first, I kind of cringed at Jenna's Wednesday's platform shoes and Gen Z-inspired wardrobe, but then it made sense because at the end of the day, her character is part of Gen z and would likely take on SOME fashion pieces.
In my opinion Wednesday is never *actually* trying to kill Pugsley in the movies - they really are playing, and it's a macabre version of 'typical' sibling relationships. He knows it's a game, too. (Most of the time.) One of my favourite moments from Fugère's Wednesday is when she says of a black cat that has been following her throughout the episode, "I'll take care of him! I mean...I'LL take care of HIM" - as if she let her mask of cold indifference slip for a second. (And Wednesday with a cat is just a really cute idea that should be done more, it's a shame the cat wasn't seen again after that episode. Wednesday is quite catlike herself in that she seems like a loner but actually just shows affection in an atypical way). It's also notable and quite funny that Fugère's Wednesday has a...for want of a better word, 'yandere' side that would later be seen to some extent in Melissa Hunter's interpretation.
I agree that Wednesday doesn't seem to try and kill Pugsley. The movies showed that all the family has death-defying abilities (even Uncle Fester who is, like Morticia, only joining the family), and... Well the fact Morticia let her electrocute her brother.
The 60's Addams Family show was my mom's childhood. She told me how much she often wished to be a part of their family due their Gothic lifestyle, and we even own what's essentially a replica of Morticia's iconic wicker peacock chair. 😊
Same with mine. She bought a dress that look just like Wednesday Addams’s for me to wear on special occasions, and she always braided my hair when I wore it!
In terms of style, I prefer the new one. She always had that conservative, victorian/Gothic feel, but still modern without looking like a hot topic emo kid. Like they put her in a hoodie and it still looked like something she would wear. And I LOVE the bangs- I feel like they fit the character by darkening her face/eyes, but at the same time making her look a little more human. And I like that the new one has the sadistic/serial killer vibe of the origional and 90s versions, but also has more complex emotions like the 60s
I completely agree. I loved all of her outfits and how they didn't force a specific style onto her, she feels very much like a teenager with her own sense of fashion.
@@evers33n theres not, but its not Wednesday's style. And it easily could have looked like that when they made her modern, but her new wardrobe looks true to her style
@Андер Шафер unrealistic? As an autistic person, I actually felt she fit autistic behavior quite well, maybe she isn't realistic to you but a lot of us quirky peeps will. Sounds like you just don't like Wednesday because Jenna's by far the most realistic version that isn't just a lovable psychopath or completely dropping the ball on who she is. Plus the Addams family is all about being weirdos and outcasts in a wholesome family, so if you don't relate, then that's kind of the point. You're more normie than them, and that's okay, but I wouldn't call them unrealistic, may be exaggerated but not unrealistic.
another cool thing i noticed about wednesday's uniform is that it blended her parents outfits into one. gomez's black and grey pinstripe jacket with morticia's long flowy skirt. idk just thought it was neat :)
I know some people will talk about how "Well Christina was a supporting role and Jenna was the main character", and "You only think that because the original movie is part of your childhood" but honestly, to a supporting character be so impactful and call so much attention as Christina there is clearly something there. Jenna did great, but I think what "flawed" her was the script. I re-watched the Addams Family movies before watching the show and I think I know what it is. In the movies, Wednesday is nonchalant, calm, collected, and very polite. She had assertive energy without using anger and bad manners, and the jokes were dry, dark, and fitting. The one-liners fit the scene and didn't feel like the character was trying too hard to be menacing, and world building made sense. This Jenna version wasn't as impactful because of the world-building and the demeanor. 1- It doesn't make any sense that Wednesday would be the only goth girl in the school, or would be seen as weird for it we're in 2022, the number of cringe people in schools is astronomical, especially of e-girls and goth girls. 2- The way they shunned her as an outcast in a school of outcasts. sirens can control people, the stoners can turn people into stone, and werewolves and vampires exist but all it took to make them scared was a girl in pigtails and a black uniform with an attitude?! In the 93 movie the world they put Wednesday around made sense, she was in a camp for white privileged children who shamed her, her brother, and her friend for being different. This leads me to problem number three. 3- How people react to Wednesday's attitude in the 22 version. Besides some of the adults, the teens were too nice and too helpful. How does someone treat you poorly the way Wednesday was treating them and yet they consistently help her? She consistently judges, shames, and insults people yet they go back to help her, or she goes ask them for help. Her character is insecure enough to take criticism as a personal offense, while the Christina version as ModernGurlz stated would be openly ridiculed bu her attitude yet remain confident and certain of herself. Honestly, none of that is Jenna's fault, she did great and without her performance, the show wouldn't work as well. It's just that this new character is edgy teen bait, which makes it seem like being rude = being impactful.
But you also honestly have to say alot of love for Christina in the new show just comes from the fact that she is this iconic Wednesday. No hate for her but her character and acting in the show was good but nothing outstanding. Jenna´s performance was really outstanding and she had many more challenges to face. I would say as far as the character goes Christina had the best but when it comes to the acting and performance Jenna is defently the best.
@@juliajuanafernandaalvarez1456 Tbh I don't have any "love" for Christina on the new show, her character was really bland and forgetful. Also, I don't think Jenna had more challenges to face, her character was built to stand out, unlike on the 90 versions that she was in the main cast but wasn't necessarily the focus of the story yet left a bigger impact than most.
I am VERY proud of you for including Melissa Hunter. Although NOT part of Addams Family Canon, her "Adult Wednesday Addams" series was brilliant and inspired, and deserves FULL RECOGNITION for her contributions to the character, and i personally credit her as having inspired the current Wednesday series [although the current producers would probably take a bath in molten lead rather than admit to it]. Well done for supporting the creativity of a fellow RUclips content creator.
Very well said. Her second season got support from an OG RUclipsr: Anna Akana, who signed on as a co-producer. Melissa even brought Wednesday over to Akana's channel for Girls Night In and Girls Night In.
my only issue with jenna ortega's wednesday's style is that she states that she's not interested in trends but wears trendy clothing. besides the (very few) dresses she wears, the other costumes were not what i expected her to wear. i HATED the zara vest with the black jeans. Also the chunky platform naked wolfe shoes. I would rather see a more vintage style, or her wearing hand-me-downs from her mother. that would make more sense to me!
@@Ues444 i'm not talking about that! the other vest she wears is from zara and she does wear naked wolfe shoes in the first scenes when she's meeting enid i believe.
Yeah I'm sorry but nothing she wears is "weird" or even "alternative" fashion. I'm pretty sure for 1 or 2 episodes she's wearing the same Prada lug-soled loafers every fashion girlie is wearing right now. It would have been more interesting if they took that concept of her wearing old (very old!) vintage, like for the dance, to her entire wardrobe. Dress her in shit that literally looks like she stole it from a corpse.
Wednesday in pink woof 😂 anyway in the 90s animated series I love that line she said “I’m different from any other Addams, but my family still loves an excepts me.”
I need everyone to realize that Christina Ricci was only 10 when she did Adam's family. Thats how good she was a Wednesday. 10!!! For that she is the MVP.
By that rationale the same goes for Roger Moore as James Bond or Adam West as Batman. Do I mean this in a sarcastic sense, a factual sense or (if this is possible for you to comprehend) *both* senses? Well, you see in real life you'd be amazed how nothing is really that black and white. You'd also be amazed how many times in history something truly bad led to something good. Thanks the to Black Death we saw the Renaissance. Uncle Joe (Stalin) won the war for the allies in WWII. You know, nuances. Aside from the fact you can't even write two sentences without using punctuation (which means you're either lazy or uneducated... or both), your claim isn't even valid on its own. The Addams Family were a cult phenomenon long before Christina Ricci's version of Wednesday. Had the films flopped (and as it were they never were blockbuster hits when they were new) that wouldn't have spelled the end of the Addams Family. Heck, had they never been made it still wouldn't have mattered. The bottom line is that they're charming and relatable and that's how they have managed to be around for 80+ years in different forms of media. You're also under the absurd and ludicruous assumption that actors create a character when it's the script writers, directors and producers who create them. The characters of the Addams Family (and any other fictional character) always get updated for modern day audiences. It's fair and rather rational to assume that Wednesday Addams would have been modernized for 21st century norms and culture *whether or not there even had been a 1990's version of the Addams Family* . "is the only answer." Many Muslims I've met say the same about the Quran. It's 100% the only answer. You sure you want to be placed in the fanatical bigot bracket? Scope Context Nuances Those are qualities of reasonable and open-minded peopel. Faith Narrowmindedness Ignorance Those are the traits (certainly not qualities) of bad and dangerous people. Guess which one you are closer? Btw, Eon Productions did intended to axe James Bond prior to Moore and DC Comics did intend to axe Batman prior to Adam West. There's a difference here, those were the main protagonists of their respective franchises. Wednesday Adams is but *one* member of the Addams Family. So are you seriously claiming that without Christina Ricci we'd never see a modern day iteration of either the Addams Family or the character Wednesday? If so you're exactly what I asses you to be. A sheltered zealot.
Fun Fact: My mother has long, almost black hair that she's worn in a middle part her whole life. As such, she was called Morticia in high school. When I was a kid, I was told to get out of a pool and was v upset about it. My step dad and their friends, without knowing my moms high school nick name, started calling me Wednesday.
In case anyone doesn't know The Addams family was also turned into a musical, opening on Broadway in 2010, and Krysta Rodriguez originated the role of Wednesday. The show is about a newly 18-year-old Wednesday having a boyfriend and inviting him and his parents to dinner, and her family being concerned about her changing and if her relationship will alter the family and their dynamics. A storm happens on the night of the dinner, which forces everyone to stay in the Addams' mansion.
As someone who grew up with Christina’s Wednesday, I ADORE Jenna’s. I love that even though Wenesday’s parents don’t know how to support teen Wednesday, they still love and grow to accept her.
It's interesting that Chloe Grace Moretz and Jenna Ortega are required so high due to the feedback for the adaptation they're from. I absolutely agree with the ranking, I just find it interesting how these two versions of the Addams family misrepresented the family whilst developing the character of Wednesday so well. In fact, maybe that's the issue. With Wednesday herself being so iconic by this point, the adaptations focused so much on getting her right that they didn't put enough into the other elements of the story
I feel like especially with Jenna´s Wednesday alot comes from the actress herself. Christina Ricci´s Wednesday is hands down very well written and iconic and well played but as far as the acting and performance goes Jenna is defenetly first place. Every flaw in Jenna´s character comes from the writting and directing, Jenna herself absolutly nailed the role she was supost to and put so much of her own into it. Jenna really is the reason why the show is despite it flaws and all the challenges she had so good and that´s why she is so high on the rankings. As far as the writting goes Christina´s character although lacking in some areas is probably the best written and she did a great job playing the part I really think Jenna as an actress is the better of the two.
Spot on!!! Christina Ricci is a GOAT!! No one could ever come close to her portrayal of Wednesday. Emotionless yet hypnotic… and those one liners were literally to die for. What an amazing actress. #1 hands down.
I feel like Wednesday should NEVER have a love interest. It just feels way to out of character for her, although in values she did, I speculate she killed him at the end. (Edit: i mixed up reunion and values)
If you check out Adult Wednesday Addams series by Melissa Hunter(supported by various fans online), she actually handled that topic with the right kind of morbid humor.
Probably because you saw her first. You'd be amazed how many times people's favorite version of a fictional character coincides with their childhood. Ask people 80-18 who their favorite James Bond is and almost always it's the one who played the character when they grew up. What I'm trying to say is that your comment means nothing in itself and adds absolutely nothing. Beware of people conflating subjective opinion with objective fact. It's not "kind of the same thing". And beware of people already having made their mind up and proudly(!) proclaiming "always" as a rigid absolute. In this bracked you'll find religious zealots and fanatics, obsessed sport team/athlete/celebrity fans, rabid videogame fanboys, sheltered sci-fi/fantasy show nerds and plain fools. Not the kind of people you want to be associated with. Ironically enough all those *fail* to see the main appeal of the Addams Family. They are NOT like the norm and fine with it. And who the heck calls themselves "princess"? You must be joking.
Of course Christina Ricci’s Wednesday will always be my favorite, and as to her staying pretty much the same throughout both films, with the fact that she was 10 when we first see her as Wednesday I thought it totally worked, as it came across like she came out of the womb with an unsettlingly deadpan disposition.
I totally agree with this list. I grew up watching and wanting to be Christina Ricci’s version. But before seeing this video, I hadn’t realized how much of an impact on the character she truly had. She truly made the character iconic. Was very impressed by Jenna’s take as well (especially as a Latina).
@@ModernGurlz thats okay ❤ I found myself being a more active watcher of media thanks to your channel. I was keeping a close eye on characters’s wardrobes and colors like you taught us! 💪🏽
@@Strannnge in the beginning season, I agree with you. And I don’t hate the styling of Sabrina, but the theming certainly got off track in later seasons hahaha
I'm surprised you disliked the styling of the Sabrina series (I assume you are talking about the one on Netflix?). I thought it was fantastic and I loved that the way the characters dress makes it feel like the show could have taken places in several different decades. Also Wednesday was really the only charater that was styled well (imo). All her classmates looked a bit boring.
@@undetestable1 the outfits were very fun and many times I wanted those same clothes myself! 🥰 Fun, no doubt about it, but I just enjoyed the character’s personality or plot hints in the background in Wednesday more. (I felt that) The clothing lead to more characterization vs just looking cool. Like when Weems would wear whites which usually associated with purity as she seeks to be a positive representation of the school to the public, but is actually hollow and clinical, and calculating. And the few scenes where she is wearing a sickly green color is when she’s actively deceiving. Or Enid wearing more specific pinks when she feels confident, but dons more colors in chaotic prints in times when in times of conflict. Idk, I could be reading into it, overall I still enjoyed both shows 🤷♀️ 🖤
Christina Ricci's Wednesday is so ICONIC! Jenna Ortega is amazing as Wednesday also and I'm so happy that both women are in a same show. Waiting Anjelica Huston to join.
I honestly think Cristina Ricci's portrayal of Wednesday Adams is the most iconic and best. I think Jenny Ortega was inspired by Cristina's performance and somehow added her own flare and has created another iconic Wednesday Adams.
One thing the newest incarnation did better than any previous one is the balance between their love of deadly games and the fact that they don't ACTUALLY want to kill each other. It is a notoriously difficult balance that even the great films of the 90s couldn't get right. It is hard to not either devolve into slapstick or just remove all consistency and coherence and the new one did it really well.
I'm surprised the webshow was included in this video, but not the Broadway show. Otherwise, I enjoyed learning more about this character in the many iterations.
I was wondering if it would show up but I guess because it doesn’t have one signature actress, maybe that’s why? It’s worth a mention though since it’s a charming version of the adult Wednesday trope. “Pulled in a New Direction” is such a fun Addams style version of a love song.
I got into The Addams Family recently by actually being in the musical! At my school I ended up playing Lurch, and it was a lot of fun working with everyone, and honestly our Gomez was probably one of the most fun characters and actors I have ever seen.
I once bought a checkered black and white sweater because I wanted something preppy and conventional. Turns out if I wear black pants/a black skirt underneath and put my hair into braids I can make it into an instant Wednesday cosplay. Thank you Netflix.
I think this video exemplifies how it can take years to develop a character to it’s peak potential and that casting has to be spot on for it to work. I loved Christina Ricci as Wednesday and I thought casting her as a character in the Netflix show opposite Jenna was brilliant and made it more meta. Who knows, maybe this will become a tradition and Jenna will play another role in the franchise in 10+ years
My take on the Adult Wednesday Addams weighed heavily on the time period it's set in. Where a woman that confident and oddly supportive, but still uniquely herself, would be be received quite differently than in the 60s-90s. I understand why someone wouldn't agree with how she depicted Wednesday as an adult, but I thought it was a well balanced mixture of her sweet characterization in earlier media, and the dry malice of the 90s film versions, coming together to give us a mixture of diverse interactions with people. I adored her webisodes quite a bit!
Lisa Loring will always be the best Wednesday in my eyes. Christina and Jenna did their own great versions of the character and really took Wednesday in their own directions but I think I'll stick by my 60s one.
The 60s version will always hold a special place in my heart, and I loved learning about some of the versions I haven’t seen yet. Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday undeniably has the best style though!
The blue dress in the second animated series could be due to the fact that earlier animation didn’t do shadows as well, if the dress were anything close to black it would have blended with the hair.
Jenna’s Wednesday also felt distinctly neurodivergent (at least to me as someone who is neurodivergent). The difficulty understanding & reciprocating social cues, strong special interests etc. all stood out to me and really made sense for her character in a way that was slightly different from other portrayals. I know the show never actually outright said that she was, but I kind of wonder if it was something Jenna had in mind with her portrayal.
a lot of sarcastic female characters in media are neurodivergent coded. i really hope that someone that worked on the wednesday series confirms that she’s neurodivergent
That can be say for the entire Addams tbh. They always misunderstood other's words bc their brain wire a bit differently. I think the Movie Wednesday might be the most "normal" among her family. Like she gets what the normies say but actively antagonize them, while the show Wednesday, like you say, is much more neurodivergence-coding while her mom/dad is relatively neurotypical
Christina Ricci is always going to be the perfect Wednesday no matter what actress takes on the role but Jenna Ortega did achieve the perfect Wednesday dance that fits the Wednesday character so perfect that I actually thought she was Christina Ricci for a split second cuz she definitely gave off that look of her with those eyes & that signature Tim Burton vibe with that oddly twist of ghoulish & silly yet perfectly memorable dance number !!!!!!
90s animated series was awesome! Pugsley: “[weve been] Kidnapped? Stuffed in a sack and dragged through an endless tunnel?” Wednesday: “Wow, is this an early birthday present or what?”
That´s pretty unfair to all the other actresses. Christinas character was just written like this and although she did a great job playing the role she didn´t really bring anything of herself in that role. Compare that to Jenna Ortega who not only nails her version of Wednesday but puts so much of her own charm into it. All flaws from her character come from the writting and every single actress after her has to try extra hard given the love and nostalgia the character now has the actresses really have to live up to much more than she did. And given the caotic shooting Jenna really stands out. I honestly don´t think that under the same circumstances Christina would have now done such a good job as Jenna did. Best written character Christina, best actress Jenna.
@@juliajuanafernandaalvarez1456 its just my preference tho and wdym just written like this? Jenna’s Wednesday had a whole show for herself while Christina only had 2 movies and she had to share her screentime with the other main characters(she had to share with fan’s favorite couple Gomez and Morticia) even with little screentime Christina really portrayed Wednesday well, idk if it’s the facial expression they make but Christina’s Wednesday looks very sassy and sarcastic also I’m pretty sure Christina would have done as much as Jenna did since she was a child actress just like Jenna
@@monochrome8731 What I wanted to say was both Wednesdays are the way they are because they were written just like that. I don't want to say Christina Ricci is bad in any way but she was blessed with a very well written Wednesday. Jenna Ortega had a flawed Wednesday, a very huge name to live up to and a pretty caotic shooting but was still managed to put up one hell of a great performance. In my opinion she had a more difficult time and a more challenging job as Wednesday but still absolutly nailed the part and really lived up to it.
Christina Ricci is iconic and Genna Ortega did a great job following her steps, and Lisa Loring was so adorable i don't care she is not the spooky Wednesday, she is nice to look. I don't know a lot of the other versions well (maybe watched a couple of episodes of Nicole Fugere and i remember she was pretty good as well)
A bit of an unpopular opinion, but my favourite is actually the one from the 90s animated series! (Of course, I wouldn't consider it "the best" portrayal of Wednesday, plus the show itself isn't very good, but it is the one that I like the most) A big thing that I enjoy in this version is that they also have a great version of Pugsley, and the dynamic that they have together is great.
I know people keep talking about Christina Ricci's version, but I still wanted to add my own personal opinion since the actress and I are about the same age (she's a year older than me). I really related to her and Pugsley's relationship due to being the oldest and only girl (in fact my youngest brother was born around the time when the first movie came out lol). Wednesday and Pugsley's relationship was similar to that of me and my other brother. We get into hijinks and would pick on each other, but we still loved each other. The 2nd movie definitely strike a chord with me as far as Wednesday portrayal there because I was a victim of bullying and found Ricci's performance there inspiring for me to start standing up for myself as I entered my teen years (and learning there were good people out there). So yeah, I'll always adore Christina Ricci's performance.
My favorite is the unofficial adult Wednesday. I like how it looks like it's happening in the real world instead of a fictional one. Plus, the topics of the series, hilarious.
Honestly, I agree on the take that she should be kept single (regardless of who she may or may not be into). To me, wednesday never came across as someone who would want to date. And while I do think that pairing her with enid could have been very interesting, I feel like pairing her with anybody contradicts her views. As for the storylines where wednesday's parents are at odds with her... they feel kinda weird, imo, because they give me the kind of vibe where they would be quite chill with their kid going through a rebellious phase as long as it's not illegal or deadly. I'm looking forward to watching the series, tho, cuz the fact that an alt girl being friends with a prep in fiction is pretty dope (I know we have Caitlyn and Nikki Wong, but still). This is already one hell of an interesting trope subversion and reminds me of myself and my bestie who represent the same dynamic
I agree with mostly everything here, but...i don't see enid as prep, her style is also alt, just a colorful alternative fashion. Ot reminds me of japanese oshare kei, lots of colours and cute accessories.
I think Christina nailed the essence of Wednesday...as a child. But I love Melissa Hunter's take on Adult Wednesday Addams! Wish it had made it to a full fledged TV show!
Ah yeah I *love* your ranking videos for adaptations of popular stories and/or specific characters, as it's always interesting to hear your thoughts on how each type differs and where you rank them. Now we've got one for Wednesday! 🖤(Here's hoping we get another addition to the fairytales at some point, like Beauty & the Beast or The Little Mermaid 🌹🐚).
Hot take but I did not enjoy the iteration of Wednesday in the 2022 show. It honestly just felt like she was trying to come off as edgy instead of being authentically misunderstood. I felt like she came off as more snobbish and her ENDLESS LIST of abilities (fencing, languages, playing cello, fighting, knowledge about plants, etc.) just made her feel unrealistic imo i thought Jenna did a good job at portraying her but i just didn’t like how the character was written 😊
I can actually agree with this. Some of the things she makes fun of just screamed ‘not like other girls’. When she mocked crocheting, I was honestly surprised because a) it’s something I could 100% see Wed doing especially with her distinct blend of macabre and femininity (imagine her crocheting a little nooses) and b) it felt sexist. Which is not on brand.
@@Ues444 I would have been okay with it if it was stated she was autistic or on the spectrum because that’s wonderful representation and it would’ve been more understandable but they didn’t. I’m glad to hear people can relate to her for that but to me her character just felt a bit forced. If you disagree that’s okay, and I’m glad you could enjoy a character i didn’t
yeah the whole show felt like a typical teenage drama... like the target audience shouldn't only be kids since the iconic Wednesday has been around for 3 decades
@@rivkahhaubner7498 oh yeah, or when she makes the comment of " would you prefer i obessed with boy bands and horses?" , She said it in a very condescending way, like if it was bad for other girls to have those interests because it's " too basic". Def gave " notlikeothergirls" vibes. That and the way they made the conflict with her mom, which made 0 sense. Is a shame because jenna's acting is great and the show was very entertaining but those details were a disappointment.
Poor Jenny Ortega did what she could but with the show's poorly written dialogue and change to Netflix's specific brand of "Weird Teen Mystery set in High School", she truly was dealt a rough hand
The only two people Jenna’s Wednesday care about are Thing and Enid. She’s the most emotional around them, definitely not around 2 mediocre boys. Edit: how could I have forgotten EUGENE?
the joke with the Addamses was that they did not realise they were odd, that got lost in newer adaptations. Sacrificing the comical part for a moral point. On brand for this decade, but a pitty for the original premise i think.
I stand by the fact: while it´s not the best depiction of the addams family, the animated wednesday 2019 had the most savage one liners. After being told by morticia to let her brother out of a grave, she answered: "You are weakening our gene-pool" That is insanely good.
Lisa’s Wednesday is a product of the show. The dark themes and undertones of the comic aren’t present in the 60s adaptation. Despite being abnormal, the Addamses are distinctly kindhearted and friendly in this version. It follows that Wednesday is as well.
Yes. The Munsters came out around the same time, (or slightly before), and they all loved each other, even though they looked like vampires, Frankenstein monsters, and werewolves. Then there was the teenage daughter, who seemed perfectly normal. It was about being "odd," not hateful or dangerous.
Lisa Loring has always been my absolute favorite version of Wednesday. I know she may not be what most people think Wednesday Addams should be but she's exactly what I think when I think Wednesday Addams. 😊 The 1960's was my introduction to the Addams Family and has always been my favorite version of these characters not just Wednesday. 🙂
Thank you! That's exactly how I feel! I always felt like there is something off about Riccis and Moretz's Wednesdays (the only ones I've watched, I can't get myself to watch the Wednesday series tbh) because of the stark contrast to the 60's character. Her being so cold, emotionless, almost cruel and full of disdain even towards her family just didn't feel in line with Lisa's version and how I got to know and love Wednesday.
Im surprised you didn't include the Wednesday from The Addams Family Musical played by Krysta Rodriguez. Thats the Wednesday I grew up with. :) And I like the take they have on the character. She has the most growth out of any other renditions that depicts being confident in yourself and who you are in relationship. Allowing Wednesday to be true to her usual characteristics while alson letting change happen naturally with life. Definitely should check it out!!
We need more videos like this about each member of the Addams family. I personally would love a video like this about Morticia or Gomez, is really interesting to see how the characters have changed so munch trough the years with each diferent adaptation, but with wednesday it feels like we see her grown with almost each new interpretation being older than the previous one. My personal favorite Wednesday (Marlina for the spanish speakers) is the Movie version, tough i also enjoyed the animated 3D film Wednesday and Jenna Ortega's Wednesday.
I think Jenna Ortega giving a new twist to Wednesday but still keeping the vibe we would expect from her was really welcoming. Christina Ricci will always be Wednesday Addams but I am definitely giving Ortega the Close Second Award!
When I was in seventh grade in the mid-90s, we had to put on a fashion show for French class - me and my friends chose The Addams Family as our theme, and I got to be Wednesday, which thrilled me to no end.
27:39 i agree. even jenna herself was very against the love triangle. she has also clearly expressed that IF she wanted Wednesday to get with anyone, it would be enid. not even a boy. the majority of people didn’t want it so we kinda just ignore it lol
Her interactions with the boys literally felt like when a guy assumes you are into him just because you talked to him for 5 minutes or were mildly friendly, despite showing 0 actual interest in dating them.
Of course they would make another classic character lgtb to make people pleased lol That’s why I don’t like new versions of old characters bc they are not original and changed due to the social demanings and that is like a spit in a creator’s face bc it is not sth they intended. I saw lately a new version of Shaggy from Scooby Doo and was so angry. I don’t have nothing to new lgtb or afro american characters but fuck that makes me crazy that they take those old classic and meaningful to a lot of people icons and completely change them…what is Hollywood doing now with cinematography is disgusting. And about Wednesday she should stay alone, for me she is someone who would not be interested in such trivial thing as love.
@@katarzynab946 but ...wednesday was never canonically straight to begin with. She was a child with no specified sexuality and no love interests or kid crushes, and the only reference to her preferences we ever got was that she had 0 interest in marriage or romance which points to an aro/ace person if anything, not to someone straight. And aroace is also part of the lgbtqia+ ...you know, that's what the " a" stands for.
@@katarzynab946 You don't make sense. First of all why do you say "of course they would make her lgbt" when they didn't and Jenna's Wednesday ended up being straight? Second if she wanted to stay alone and didn't care for love that would make her NOT straight (a person attracted to the opposite gender) but asexual (a person not attracted to anyone). So you're saying 2 contradicting things lol??
@@aleksandra5808 I meant they are planning to do so in the next season as articles says idk if they will do but that’s not suprising. I didn’t write anywhere Wednesday is straight but that for me she wasn’t interested in love. It is not about sexuality but about changing original character, that is pissing me off, and she is not the only one they change from the past. This is typical Hollywood move, they bring back old characters and change them. Another example Anne’s friend in Anne with an E which is even funnier considering the times in which those characters lives.
I loved both Christina’s and Jenna’s versions of Wednesday they both did so amazing with that role and the fact that Christina plays the main villain in the new Netflix show is beyond amazing 🤩
I'm honestly relieved to see that someone else didn't love the show 😬Don't get me wrong, I still think it's pretty good but everyone is talking about it as if it's amazing.
I'm glad you included Melissa Hunter. I think it is a GREAT interpretation of the role. Interesting that you read it as a parody. That's what she called it as well. Warner Brothers disagreed and, unfortunately, I think they're right. It was an unauthorized derivative work. I wish they had licensed it to her instead of removing it from the internet and crushing Hunter. Sadly... corporations.
I personally don't like the new wednesday as well. I just cant help but feel that this is not the addams family i loved. They were always odd but its always them vs the normies. You cant get that feeling in a magical setting filled with magical beings around them?? Like This has to be as normal of a setting to feel like its a addams family vs outside situation tbh. I find it so out of character for wednesday to be so rude to morticia too at the first episode. She would absolutely hate going to a new school too cus she does not believe she did anything wrong by standing up for her brother, but she would never be so rude to her parents, specifically saying things in an attempt to hurt them in a bad way (try to be morbid yes, but not out of badness) if she knew the thing she says would actually hurt her mother. Morticia and gomez dont even behave like themselves too so the whole show is just OOC for me.
@@Strannnge i can sort of see her rebelling, but i don't think gomez and morticia would have cared much. they probably would have been the chill ones in this situation
@@Strannnge I agree, and her hate has literally no foundation in this show. Is it fair for Wed to get annoyed with her family, sure? But annoyed because they’re trying to control you? What have they done to control Wed in any way. They sent her to their high school after trying like 6 other schools. The angst she has with her parents could be justified if the show presented a believable reason, but it didn’t.
Christina Ricci is the best Wednesday casted. None can replace her in originality & natural portray of that character, without trying too hard to be unique.
Y’all fail to realize that writers, producers, and directors have the ultimate say of how the character is supposed to be. If they don’t like even a small facial expression they will re do the take. It’s less about the actresses and more about the each series or movie.
CHRISTINA IS IT FOR ME, JENNA IS GREAT TOO BUT... She does not have to be ga...Women can just be friends! infact she doesn't need to be with anyone, should focuse on family, infact I hope she turns them all down that be the real Wendsday thing to do...
WEDNESDAY SPOILERS Christina Ricci is really the walking embodiment of "You either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain".
Christina Ricci is IMO the most iconic as the young to preteen version, Jenna Ortega just knocked out the park. Yeah there was some cheeky stuff in Wednesday, but I think Tim Burton definitely brought a new light to this iconic roll. In fact I'd say the entire cast was brilliant. And including Christina in the show was genius.
I think the ranking was spot on, especially the top three, which I know of the most. Even as a 2000s kid, I grew up watching the 1990s version of Christina Ricci's addams family, and she is iconic. I loved the 2019 animated version, and the plot lines. But as a teenager now watching wedneseday, I guess its easier to relate to Wedneseday, especially since they made her more socially awkward and less like a fictional character.

I feel like the whole point of the Addams family is that they’re weird, but unlike most sitcom family to come before them, they actually loved and supported each other
Morticia can be disinterested (and kind of disgusted) with pink outfits and pageants, but she would NEVER stop her daughter from experimenting with unconventional (to her) stuff
Exactly, she would always be supportive of what her kids want
Based on the first 3D movie, I would not be surprised if Morticia greatest fear is that her family falls to conformity. Considering the "normal" people were the ones who drove her and Gomez out of their original home, she's terrified that Wednesday will end up like them.
what i didnt like about them is that they were bad 👍👍
Plus, the way the new Wednesday (show) portrays this conflict is jarringly juvenile.
i feel like they're too "i hate everyone" in the newer ones
agreed!
Yes Christina definitely the homie but Jenna definitely did her thing 💜😊
100% agree
i see you everywhere oml
She definitely took from Ricci’s portrayal
Christina walked so Jenna can run. Don't get me wrong, I loved Jenna's Wednesday and I love her modern style, but to me she's a more flawed version of the cool and collected Wednesday that Christina cemented and gathered 3 decades of dedicated fans. She will always be the standard.
If you think Christina is better than Jenna why did you say that Christina walked and Jenna runned? It's the other way around!!The one who"runs"should be the _better_ one,not simply"the one who came later"!!

@@Nicamon she’s basically saying Christina is the blueprint
@@Nicamon Honestly I think you're just dumb at this point
@@charmedlilsis1 Jenna is not a teen 💀 and not all teens act like this.
Let's admit, Christina Ricci defined Wednesday. She might not be the first one to do it but she was the one who made it such an icon. And everyone's following her blueprints.

Jenna Ortega managed to carry that entire show even through the dumb love scenes and through some of the Disney level acting from others.
agreed. i love her execution of wednesday from what she was given. the wednesday show was a mess imo. i wish i could like enid but her acting was so bad and a lot of her delivery was very “you can tell she’s acting.”
Even the actors didn't like Wednesday's love triangle stuff, but the creators juuuust had to shoehorn that in
@@clarityvee I actually loved Enid, and I think the point of her "you can tell she's acting" was intentional given her outcast status and relationship with her family.
YES!!! just as I was going to give up on the show…Jenna would come back on screen and I’d be lured back in!
I wish puglsey got more love just give the kid a chance.
Preach, I love how Wednesday got kicked out of school for going after the jerks who bullied Pugsley. I wish that the entire Addams clan had more screentime in the new TV series.
Yeah, na
I never got fonded of any version of Pugsley...except the one from this year's spin-off...and he's in the *only* series that doesn't focus on the whole family AKA the only version where *I can't see him!D-X* That's so unfair!!FOR ONCE that I like a Pugsley I'm stuck with his Discount Version AKA Eugene!😫💔
I sort of agree, Pugsley is very underrated, but it's kinda hard to be the spot-light when you are competing with a little serial killer who's sarcastic humour literally constructed part of today's media.
Puglsey is basically Bart Simpson but who gets pranked too. . I’m surprised why he is not popular.
Another conflict, which would probably be the start, could've been she *tries* to make friends; but not everyone is like her brother Pugsley, where they'll carelessly laugh at a giant, poisonous spider under their pillow as a "simple, harmless prank."
Those are all just my thoughts, though.

At first, I kind of cringed at Jenna's Wednesday's platform shoes and Gen Z-inspired wardrobe, but then it made sense because at the end of the day, her character is part of Gen z and would likely take on SOME fashion pieces.
I even liked the snood Enid made for Wednesday. Killer and cozy. :)
In my opinion Wednesday is never *actually* trying to kill Pugsley in the movies - they really are playing, and it's a macabre version of 'typical' sibling relationships. He knows it's a game, too. (Most of the time.)
One of my favourite moments from Fugère's Wednesday is when she says of a black cat that has been following her throughout the episode, "I'll take care of him!
That’s so real!!! Why doesn’t Wednesday have a black cat???? Sure, it’s been done by others but they’re perfect for each other
@@imfamousheroI mean, she was at the very least willing to endanger his life for fun, but I’m not sure if murder was her intention.
I agree that Wednesday doesn't seem to try and kill Pugsley. The movies showed that all the family has death-defying abilities (even Uncle Fester who is, like Morticia, only joining the family), and... Well the fact Morticia let her electrocute her brother.
i dont think you understand the word yandere
this. Morticia allowing it should make that clear enough.
The 60's Addams Family show was my mom's childhood. She told me how much she often wished to be a part of their family due their Gothic lifestyle, and we even own what's essentially a replica of Morticia's iconic wicker peacock chair. 😊
Her wicker chair?!?! OMG I am so jealous I’ve been trying to find an affordable peacock chair forever because of the 60s show 😭😭😭 you’re so lucky!!!!
@@RogueVideoRaven the classic peacock chair, I've always wanted one 😭😭💖
She seems more like a real person now, like an actual teenager with an interest in criminology and the occult
I completely agree. I loved all of her outfits and how they didn't force a specific style onto her, she feels very much like a teenager with her own sense of fashion.
Nothings wrong with Hot Topic
Good catch. The costume designers for this show were on it.
i feel like jenna played wednesday better as a teenager, meanwhile christina actually perfected the role in a much more childish yet still creepy way.
I agree
Ricci's Wednesday is a morbid adult trapped inside a child's body..

I’ve been looking for this comment!! She truly did phenomenal.
my only issue with jenna ortega's wednesday's style is that she states that she's not interested in trends but wears trendy clothing. besides the (very few) dresses she wears, the other costumes were not what i expected her to wear. i HATED the zara vest with the black jeans.

Without Ricci the Wednesdays after wouldn't exist her being #1 is the only answer.

@@paulallen8109 it’s never that serious
Her parents are very loving and accepting. Which makes it feel very "bratty" to me that she resents her mother so much. It's uncalled for.
I wish Enid's mom had actually learned to start supporting her before she could turn into a werewolf too but oh well
It's interesting that Chloe Grace Moretz and Jenna Ortega are required so high due to the feedback for the adaptation they're from.

If you check out Adult Wednesday Addams series by Melissa Hunter(supported by various fans online), she actually handled that topic with the right kind of morbid humor.
Christina Ricci will ALWAYS be Wednesday to me.
And who the heck calls themselves "princess"? You must be joking.
@@paulallen8109 You must be really fun at parties.

Didn't she retire from acting?
@@AbcAbc-sp1od No, she hasn’t.

MY GIRL MENTIONED ADULT WEDNESDAY ADDAMS! I FEEL SEEN!
Ricci is the rock, the foundation. But Ortega did a great version without just copying her. Great vid. I love that you covered the fashion points too.
🙄
@@aliceguichard9367 Why does that annoy you so? It's true, undeniably, that she has traits neurodivergant people can relate to.
As an autistic person I thought the same thing while watching the show. At times she even reminded me of Woo Young Woo, actually.
Adult Wednesday Addams was brilliant. Especially for a utube series.
I love Christina's simplicity and effective portrayal of Wednesday, while the other actors are trying hard Christina just comes natural
@Gonzo York Give me one example where Jenna Ortega tries to copy her
@@juliajuanafernandaalvarez1456 its just my preference tho and wdym just written like this?
My dads friend dated the original Wednesday Addams from the 60s sitcom. I wonder how she feels about the new series I’m sure she would be proud
It is nice that John Astin also returned to voice Gomez in that Animated series .
So yeah, I'll always adore Christina Ricci's performance.
kudos for including Adult Wednesday in the list!! Even though the Corporation that owns the Addams ignored her.
My favorite is the unofficial adult Wednesday. I like how it looks like it's happening in the real world instead of a fictional one. Plus, the topics of the series, hilarious.
The cat calling one was my favourite.

Which is not on brand.

the joke with the Addamses was that they did not realise they were odd, that got lost in newer adaptations.
Lets be real, Christina and Jenna are carrying Wednesday as a character
Modern media does. Nothing else.
Christina Ricci but Jenna Ortega was also a delight!
Cindy Henderson actually played Wednesday as more of a happy maniac Wednesday which was actually great♥️
I loved both Christina’s and Jenna’s versions of Wednesday they both did so amazing with that role and the fact that Christina plays the main villain in the new Netflix show is beyond amazing 🤩
I agree with you. The show makes it turn into yet another franchise about mutant/magical/superpowered teenagers which there are SO many of already.
Agreed
I agree as well
@@Strannnge i can sort of see her rebelling, but i don't think gomez and morticia would have cared much. they probably would have been the chill ones in this situation
Whenever i hear the Addams Family…Christina Ricci as Wednesday is what i think!! She IS the Wednesday adams ahah
I looove Jenna Ortega and I especially loved the dance scene she choreographed but Christina Ricci will always be my favorite Wednesday
I didn't realise that the Gomez actor died and that that's why there wasn't a third film :(
i screamed when you ranked christina ricci as the best version of wednesday. that’s the wednesday i grew up with what an actual legend
You profile pic is so funny😂
CHRISTINA IS IT FOR ME, JENNA IS GREAT TOO BUT... She does not have to be ga...Women can just be friends! infact she doesn't need to be with anyone, should focuse on family, infact I hope she turns them all down that be the real Wendsday thing to do...
Melisa Huter's interpretation on Wednesday was really great, I was really sorry that they made her cancel the show... 😪
I grew up on Ricci and Raul Julia cast so I that will always be my favorite
We appreciate your analysis on the different versions of Wednesday Addams. She's certainly intriguing and not your average type of anti-heroine.
Christina Ricci. Always and forever. Full stop.
WEDNESDAY SPOILERS
Christina Ricci is really the walking embodiment of "You either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain".
Wh-what happened?
@@NathasyaStellaHermanus Well, Christina was Wednesday at one point, then became Wednesday's antagonist
The Addams family values is the best Addams family movie
I think the ranking was spot on, especially the top three, which I know of the most. Even as a 2000s kid, I grew up watching the 1990s version of Christina Ricci's addams family, and she is iconic. I loved the 2019 animated version, and the plot lines. But as a teenager now watching wedneseday, I guess its easier to relate to Wedneseday, especially since they made her more socially awkward and less like a fictional character.
I loved the Adult Wednesday Adams! I know the costume wasn't revolutionary but the webisodes were amazing and I still watch them occasionally.
