one of my favourite overlooked parts about the My Scene barbie era is that when the dolls had shoes on, they actually had normal sized feet. kid me was absolutely stuck on the fact that regular barbie had microscopic feet and couldn't stand on her own. it always REALLY bothered me!

I remember that sooo well. As a kid I was weirded out by Bratz not having feet when you took their shoes off (what if you lost their feet/shoes?! They would be footless!) so I really liked that my scene still had feet and could wear regular Barbie shoes even if they couldn’t stand up….

IMMEDIATELY hit with a wave of nostalgia on the FIRST Barbie!! I remembered my favorite childhood Barbie was a ballerina with molded on shoes and tights, and she was my favorite because of how poseable and jointed she was! Her wrists eventually broke because of how much I played with her. I never realized she was a tie-in doll to the Nutcracker movie! Luckily, after many years of always being the protagonist, she was retired when I got two Fashionista Barbies from their initial wave, when they were also very poseable :) AND THEN the American Idol music videos??? UNLOCKED memory from BarbieGirls I didn't even know was missing.

i loved the fairytopia dolls sm this is such a great and nostalgic video! but i really cant ignore the little sans in the background😭😭 i love how he fits into the pink and blue palette of the room perfectly
The fairytopia era really was Mattel's holy grail imo. Never again will there ever be such a beautiful line of fairy/mermaid dolls. I think the Elina doll was the best rendition of Barbie that I've ever seen.

I remember my mom had that Dorothy doll! She was keeping it as a collectible. And me being a child, I begged and begged to open it until she gave in. She passed 2 years ago so seeing that was a nice reminder of her.

I loved "what's her face". I had the cool one. I loved it. She was a spy who changed faces lol. I saw groovy girls at the supermarket by the magazines and I was so confused. I thought it was a modern raggedy anne.

Diva Starz & What's Her Face will always be so iconic for me! I remember vaguely seeing the og Diva commercials growing up, but definitely remember the wave 1 fashion dolls one! I recently got into What's Her Face and to say I'm obsessed with them is an understatement! I may have at least 3 of each of the first two waves xD

I remember one of Barbie's best eras being when Mattel made the dolls for the Classic Barbie movies. Not only were the movies amazing, but the dolls themselves were very impressive as princess dolls. I remember owning a lot of them as a kid, with my favorite Barbies as a kid being the Barbie and the Diamond Castle dolls. A while ago, I found a bundle of Barbies at a Goodwill, and there was a Barbie Princess of Ireland doll in that bundle. Seeing her and holding her in my hands really reminded me of how much better Barbie's quality used to be when I was a kid and why modern Barbie dolls are so disappointing to me compared to other lines nowadays. Now I feel tempted to try to buy back some of my childhood Barbies from that era.🖤💜

I had stretchy polly pockets! lol and WOW I totally forgot about Groovy Girls. I had the original blonde w orange striped tights from our local bookstore and adored her cus she was soft like a stuffed animal but hip!! I loved the yarn hair too. Also, you played a fast clip of the life sized barbie and totally remembered seeing those commercials and thinking she was weird as hell hahah

ok you got me, the barbie kelly section reminded me that i owned the tooth time kelly doll. also i know the bratz foxes are cursed but i loooved mine sm, she was the pink fox with a maroon vest and her legs were bendy. i forgot about lil bratz until recently, i had a mini car and i realized a blanket i had was lil bratz and they’re fully different girls?? wild, didn’t realize how much lil bratz merchandise i had lmao

As far as old nostalgic dolls from the 2000s i remember getting betty spagetty. Im pretty sure there was some kind of reboot? I loved bending the hair and making new hairstyles with them. And i think they could switch bodies or pieces for mixing and matching looks? I might be mixing that up with another line.

Barbie of late 90s to early 2000s are a gem! I mean the older ones are too but I grew up with 90s and 2000s barbie so it's more dear to me. I understand the bad quality of new barbies nowadays that you mentioned in this video. I always felt like the barbie I was used to was better. It's more imaginative! The dresses are cool and stylish.

I had a groovy girl as a kid I remember she had a Union Jack top! I also had the Hallie Hopscotch Hill School doll and the main thing I remember was her book was about her having bad handwriting (which I had a the time😅). I think the Hopscotch Hill School dolls based off my memory were trying to talk about challenges that neurodivergent kids or just kids in general faced in school?
Hahah I was unnecessarily mean to Hallie as a joke in this vid- she’s actually a cute doll up close! 🩷 but I think they were suppose to be pre-schoolers so the books were definitely about new skills little kids would be learning & challenges they would face at that age!

I had that baking Barbie and kelly doll and I never figured out how to do the baking 😂 I loved their outfits though!! (I actually just found that Barbie’s skirt in my garage recently!)

I remember ALL of these dolls, I still have the Theresa Jam n Glam at home! Does no one remember Skipper though?! She was the middle sister of Barbie and Kelly. I had a set with her and she came with a bike to ride and loveddddd it.
