I watch a lot of videos about nostalgic doll/toy lines and I have been WAITING for someone to talk about liv dolls. I was obsessed with these gals
Liv dolls were soooo important to customizing Barbie's in the early 2010's before Made to Move came out! I remember MyFroggyStuff always used their bodies for their main characters. I loved Liv dolls because the wigs made the dolls so personal and customizable. My favorite dolls to play with growing up
This video deserves more views simply because it’s covering Liv Dolls. I feel like they were a one of a kind doll line and don’t get NEARLY as much attention as they did

I have been collecting them... I have even found a few still in the box!!! I love them and I am so glad I discovered them before they completely disappeared.

this is really interesting! I collect ball jointed dolls and I can definitely see a possibility that they were inspired by BJDs becoming more popular at the time. the bodies especially remind me of obitsu and azone dolls which are often included in BJD stuff.

omg, I loved Liv dolls. I couldn't get the dolls, got into it late tho, but I did get into the webisodes and a bit on the website. But man, I wish I knew how to do screenshots at the time, cus all the characters had diaries that explained what happened in the webisodes and in their daily life, they were pretty interesting. I only managed to read Daniela's, because she was my fave character. I don't really remember much from it, because I read them a long time ago. Unfortunately, because the website was created on flash and the diaries were not archived (for some reason, I mean, even the MH diaries were saved), not even on the wiki, so they're now lost forever😢. It's a real shame, it would be a miracle if SpinMaster releases the diaries to the public.
edit: the diaries were more serious imo, like, from what I remember from what I've read about Daniela, I know it timelined her relationship with one of her bandmates (wish I can remember the name, I think it was something with "J", not Jake tho, probably Jackson or Jason), it started as crush to lovers, then they broke up then they became friends again and I think they might've gotten back together in the end (the last one I don't fully remember) and, this one is more vaguely, so take it with a grain of salt, I think Daniela's parents divorced. So yeah. Again, this is from vague memories, I tried my best to remember.
Ahh hearing about Daniela's diary makes us wish we took screenshots of them when we was younger too! Somone's gotta have em sitting on a hardrive somewhere! It makes us wonder what other serious topics they talked about!
I had Sophie, the one with the blue leggings and the shih tzu! at the time my grandma had a shih tzu and so that was part of why I chose her. I also loved her articulation-- it was literally so important to me as a kid playing pretend (I never got any Ken dolls because they were always so boring and mannequin-y, so I'd get GI Joe dolls because they had ACTION!!! and joints!).

Always begged for a Liv doll for Christmas as a kid 😂❤ I had at least one of each character the only thing I regret not having is Katie’s horse and a dating outfit for Jake
Had them as a kid and enjoyed them a lot more than the hand me downs Barbie dolls. And the web series was really fun. It’s really a shame that it didn’t get more popular than Barbie , Mattel Monster high / ever after high . Bratz etc
I remember getting one liv doll for christmas one year and I LOVED her. She was my favorite fashion doll to play with because of how articulated she was

There were some wigs that were more textured at least 1 because I remember people got it for their Clawdeen dolls
The webisodes were very weird but I'm assuming the intent of the un shown characters for children to imagine them and/or use any doll they wanted when playing 🤷🏿♀️

I hated that Liv Twist and Dance CHASE (he was supposed to be DIFFERENT boy) I also remember being happy when his pics were LEAKED only to be STOOD UP because NEVER was released 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️ I had bought Jake too but IDK where he is now

Maybe polly pocket overview I loved those I know it’s over done but you guys are so entertaining I’d like to see your guys opinions on how the line started and changed over the years. Also the Polly pocket the site was bomb I spent so many hours on it as a child.

I had liv dolls growing up, I loved them so much. My friend and I would go outside to play with them until dark. The best part is that they fit Barbie clothes so I had a whole bunch I got from a swampmeet and gave them more personality, I miss it so much
These dolls creeped me out, never liked dolls with realistic inserted eyes, it even took me time to adjust to rainbow highs inserted eyes because of these lol

omg i’m still watching the video so Idk if y’all mention it yet but I had (and still have) the liv dolls folding dollhouse/room and i would carry it with me all the time and try and shove one of the dolls in the fold up bed 😵💫

I played on the website and had both Katie and Sophie dolls
i have one from my sister and it is in goodish condition even though almost all the clothes are gone but i also loved it because my nickname is liv but i never see videos about the dolls
I actually had both a Sophie and Katie doll after I saw the commercials and thought they looked so cool. I picked Sophie and Katie specifically because Sophie actually had glasses like I did( plus she was blonde), and Katie was a tomboy like me. She was still a fashion doll, but her clothes were always kept in line with her personality. Kinda suck that they don't consider her a main part of the group since she had the most development of the girls. I also didn't know she dated the only boy doll of the line, always thought Katie would be single.

When I was a kid and grew out of my dolls, I cut open my liv dolls heads and took out their eyes because I thought they were cool.

Man I was OBSESSED with Liv Dolls as a kid. I still have all… 10? Of my dolls. I have each of the 5 McDonalds dolls and a ton of wigs. I read SO many of the diary entries and remember there was an exact page where Daniella’s voice actress changed dramatically lol. Also! FYI In that one episode where everyone is crushing on Jake, I think either he and Katie aren’t dating yet or the others didn’t know about it so it was more fair game. 😂

I personally stopped caring for Liv dolls when they changed Alexis , she was representation for Light skin Black / mixed girls which was & still is rare for dolls ( for ex: Barbie , AG , Bratz , Disney Princess & etc ). Liv dolls should've made either Katie or Hayden dark skin . American Girl doesn't have a historical Light skin black/biracial doll or Girl of the year , Bratz had Yasmin but like all tan dolls she was Latina not black , Sasha was light skin on the art work & the 2D movies but the doll was dark skin & the tv show she was dark skin & then the live action she was light again ..Mga smh ( Also Felicia was dark skin too ) . Barbie had Christie dark skin , Nikki's skin tone kept changing & Teresa is Latina , My Scene had Madison who's skin tone kept changing & Jal was Dark Skin , there are no Light skin Black/Biracial Disney princesses & Alexis was my real doll representation & Spin Masters took that , I already know that someone will downplay what I'm saying so whatever .

The only Liv doll I own is Jake funny enough 😂 I can see why you think he's boring, but honestly, he's really cute and redressing him has been so much fun! All of my Mermaze Mermaidz dolls and Project Mc2 dolls are in love with him 🤣💞. I love how articulated he is, he's very iconic considering the fact that we didn't get made to move Ken until WAY later! Hey, will you do videos on Project Mc2 and Mermaze Mermaidz next?
