@@Bellas1717 We AFL fans got him early on that one (I'm American, and have been following the game since the mid 1990s). Rob started reacting to Rugby umpires/referees since Rob is a soccer referee, then we told him about the AFL, and how someone thought he could be a cousin of Razor Ray. that got him looking at AFL umpires, then he saw a match, picked a team, and here we are. We're hoping he can get some time with Ray or even someone like a Matt Stevic, or someone from the umpires association.
As a Collingwood supporter of 50 years I was devastated by the loss but I am so happy for your experience. Its such a good sport, exciting, brutal, tough, skilful, extreme fitness required. Yet like most Aussie stuff not well known

A true rollercoaster of emotion for both Swans and Magpie fans but at the end of the day only one team can win. Looking forward to your Grand Final vlog.
We have the greatest game in the world (YES I SAID IT). A great game of footy beats everything else for excitement, emotion, action, drama and you got to see a great one. Only thing to compare is maybe Liverpool vs ManU or Barecelona vs Real Madrid. The fact the Swans fans clapped Collingwood off after the players had gone to thank their fans for support. Simple respect for a worthy opponent. Well done Swans fans.
As a Pies supporter I was pretty happy with the effort, glad we put on a show for you. That game was a great example of all the best things AFL has to offer, the massive swings in momentum, a blow out lead clawed back, grim defending and fast pace breaking of defensive lines. A heart stopping ending and that elation at the end. No other game like it. I hope the Grand final can try and live up to that finish, because if you thought the SCG was a crazy atmosphere at the end, just wait for 100,000 at the MCG in a nail biter, you'll notice the players look confused as they can't hear each other or the refs.
Bloody hell Rob and Charlie, you made me cry. You both came all this way to be there at such an amazing moment. Love you both. You are legends. What a game, what a finish. Although Im going for the Cats (my Uncle and Brother's team) in the Grand Final. Secretly, I hope the Swans win for you both. : )

You summed it up really well. Swans were up and had a very healthy lead then it all went bad for 45 minutes. If the game went an extra 30 seconds I'm not sure we would have held on. And then being there when the siren and the roar tell you it's over is very special. Welcome to the best game in the world.

Not a bad game to go to as your very first experience, Rob. Thrilling finish, and the biggest crowd at the SCG since the Sydney v Essendon final in 2017. In fact, the two Collingwood games this season at the SCG are at #3 and #4 on the all-time crowd record list at the SCG. The game moves so quickly, and momentum can shift at lightning pace. I certainly never felt comfortable, even when we were up by around 6 goals earlier in the match. Collingwood were always going to come at us. Thankfully they didn't quite get over the line! You only need to win by a point.
Me and my mate watched it at a pub in South East Melbourne, lots of Collingwood fans yelling and screaming. Collingwood losing by a point was a sight to behold! I said to my mate during the first quarter "I Hope Collingwood lose by a point" and they did!
I am so happy for you both that, that was your first AFL experience. You couldn't have asked for a better game. Fingers crossed you get Grand final tickets
Never too hot to wear the beanie! Lol Being at games like this, makes up for all the years of heartache, pain and tears. I was lucky enough to be at the 2005 GF. My 67yo dad and I (I was 35 then) together saw us win our first flag in 72 years. It don't think I've hugged him so hard. And I cried like a baby. Lol Keep up the incredible work. Go Bloods!!!
"Leo Barry, you star!". Such a magical moment when he was holding the ball aloft as the siren went. I howled at the end of the game, so much emotion. A long awaited win.
Loved your passion. Hope you can get tickets for the GF - sometimes the club might help out with tickets if they know your circumstances. Otherwise, wait outside the MCG before the game with a sign that you've travelled 10,000 miles! You just never know!
Wow! Congratulations for the video and conveying the atmopsphere. I first visited the SCG in 1953 as a 7yo school kid along with 'millions' of other school kids to see Queen Ellizabeth 11 on her first visit to Oz. All I saw was a white glove waiving gracefully above al the heads in front of me, however.....I was at the SCG and experienced the absoluie awe of the stadium. OK! It is not the 'G' in Melbourne, but for me it always will be a special place and I will sadly miss that "waiving" white glove driving away forever in her Land Rover. Welcome to Oz! Perhaps you two should think about changing post codes. We live in a very comfortable country, you know...........
Saw you on TV - first time I'd heard of you. That's commitment guys - I've lived here a lazy 40 years and never ventured to an AFL final. Interesting tidbit you might not be aware of - the SCG is especially historic as it was the venue for the first ever one-day international day/night cricket match played at a traditional cricket ground. You've earned a sub, keep it up.
Great vid! I'm American, was going for the Pies in that match, but what a great game! You could feel the excitement in this video, much better than the broadcast.

It'd be even better if you were to get Tickets and you go and they win it! Sucks you prob wont get tickets now. Anyway keep up the good work, love the vlogs
Welcome to Australia and Rob and Charlie. That was an intense game especially at the end with the Pies in the groove for the chase down on the Swans. I suspect my partner had a few heart attacks in that last quarter thinking the Swannies were going to give up the ghost in the dying minutes. Nail biters on the eve of the big dance are very scary but exciting at the same time. You'll never forget you first experience.
Such an amazing video. Felt like I was sitting on the edge of my seat all over again in that 4th quarter. Glad you guys had a great experience at your first AFL game
You know that a good many of those Swannies supporters are actually from Melbourne. The Swans were once South Melbourne and the allegiance doesn't die. It's passed down through the generations. Many of them travelled up with the Collingwood supporters. You'll find in the GF this week the crowd will likely be half & half. I'm from Melbourne & I will be going for the Swans (even though I'm a Tigers supporter).
What a game Charlie & Rob. I had goosebumps watching this when the final siren went off. An experience you guys will never forget. Have you managed to score tickets to the big dance? Hopefully it works out for you guys. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Aus.
This was an awesome video. You and Charlie couldn't have got a more exciting game for your first experience of live AFL. And the result went the right way too. Now to the MCG on Saturday, I hope you can track some tickets down to watch, hopefully, the Swans to defy the odds and knock Geelong off. Thanks for the great content.

Great game for your "first" experience, Rob! As a Saints fan, I'm more than happy to see Collingwood loose, and by one point no less! Painful! 😊 However, their brand of 2022 football has my sincere respect; fast, high pressure, risk taking and dangerous. The Swans were fortunate the game wasn't two minutes longer.
First AFL (well it was VFL then) game I went to was in 1989, Sydney V Essendon at the SCG. I got to visit the players area before the game and got to walk the Tunnel onto the pitch to get to my seats on the boundary line. One of the best memories of my teenage years.
Certainly captured the atmosphere, well done. The crowd is different to Soccer, there's not enough time between plays to sing and carry on, it's more engaged with the game itself. My wife has trouble getting her hear around that, but enjoys the game. Love Aussie rules so much ❤

Being at games like this, makes up for all the years of heartache, pain and tears. I was lucky enough to be at the 2005 GF. My 67yo dad and I (I was 35 then) together saw us win our first flag in 72 years. It don't think I've hugged him so hard. And I cried like a baby. Lol
Keep up the incredible work.
Go Bloods!!!
"Leo Barry, you star!". Such a magical moment when he was holding the ball aloft as the siren went. I howled at the end of the game, so much emotion. A long awaited win.
That was some game to go to for your first match ever!
Thanks!
Loved the video of your 1st afl game and for you to see your beloved swans get into grand final
Awesome stuff. The emotions you can feel during a game of footy really does make it the greatest game in the world! 🏉
Loved your passion. Hope you can get tickets for the GF - sometimes the club might help out with tickets if they know your circumstances. Otherwise, wait outside the MCG before the game with a sign that you've travelled 10,000 miles! You just never know!
What a score line for you to experience Rob. Heart in your throat type of thing.
Prediction, the Grand Final is going to have a similarly tight result.
Awesome vid mate.
Havnt been to a game in a few years but that brought back all the emotions of a match day experience.
Excellent vlog Rob. So happy for you that the Swans got up. The hat and beanie look great.
...and Charlie really enjoyed hearing Rob singing Sweet Caroline... NOT! 😂 I sympathise, Charlie, I honestly do.
I came to you channel for this sort of joy... and a bit of British grump. I'm very glad you are both enjoying our wonderful country.
I'm glad you flew over to expereince the game live. Good luck for the Grand Final - go swannies
Been looking forward to this one a lot, what a game.
Welcome to the channel! 😊
Great vid! I'm American, was going for the Pies in that match, but what a great game! You could feel the excitement in this video, much better than the broadcast.
Loved watching this vlog! Glad the swannies won for you and you were there to see it! This is why AFL is the greatest game in the world! Yes..time to learn the words to their song..lol
That was amusing seeing Rob a fish out of water, not knowing the words to their song.
@@shaundgb7367 I asked in a previous comment on another post whether Rob knew the words to the theme song, he never got back to me, if he had, I would have typed them out for him, so he could learn them.
Made me smile ear to ear the pleasure you got out of the live viewing.
you know you'll come back right? Your Aussies now. great to see you take in the culture. you guys are SOOO welcome here :)
GDAY ROB AND CHASSA…WELL DONE YOUR FIRST AFL MATCH…AND WHAT A MATCH….LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU BOTH IN THE STANDS..AT THE MCG..TO SEE THE SWANNEES FLOG THE CATS….WOOHOO…GOODONYA BOTH.
One of the best finals I've ever seen. Good on you for being there.
I went to the 2017 elimination final, only game I've been to at the SCG. Amazing ground.
Mate it's always good to see any new people go to a swans game, I'm a 20 year member and love the red and white for life, happy you enjoyed it, shame the grand final didn't go our way but this year hopefully, loved the video
FIRST!!! I have been waiting for this all Morning! I'm hoping the Swans win the Granny, I've been supporting them this whole finals series, but not just because of that. But for you, Rob. It'd be even better if you were to get Tickets and you go and they win it! Sucks you prob wont get tickets now. Anyway keep up the good work, love the vlogs
What an awesome match to have as your first!!
Really enjoyed watching that
perfect game to watch for your first match, great to see
Captured the atmosphere perfectly... Good job you both.
Loved your reactions so much. I also appreciated your support for the Swans in just your first game. Love the Vlog so much.
Thank you!! Footy is why we flew this far!
Thank you! It was sooooo good to be there!
CMON SYDNEY! You chose a great club to support!
Was looking forward to this.
And it was great. Thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks you two.
Was so looking forward to this reaction video. Great work Rob, so glad you both enjoyed it : )
Aussie Rules best game in the world 🔴⚪️🔴⚪️🔴⚪️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🏆👈 Glad you enjoyed it 👍
You caught the best game of the season and following the best club in AFL!
Possibly a ticket for Rob 😜
@@CharlieandRob Good news guys. Hopefully Charlie gets a ticket as well
been waiting for this one, so glad you were able to go mate
This was an awesome video. You and Charlie couldn't have got a more exciting game for your first experience of live AFL. And the result went the right way too.
Now to the MCG on Saturday, I hope you can track some tickets down to watch, hopefully, the Swans to defy the odds and knock Geelong off.
Thanks for the great content.
Thank you! Hopefully got the one ticket for Rob - seems the best we can get!
@@CharlieandRob Well, one ticket was better than none. It's a shame the result didn't go the Swans way. You both will have to come back for when the Sydney play in next year's Grand Final.
Hi Rob glad you having a great time ..are you going to vlog any sight seeing ,the hotels ,the shopping , THE BRIDGE ..THE OPERA HOUSE ..Take a ferry from circular quay amazing views..
LMAO!! Rob at least you were still breathing, I almost hooked myself up to a ventilator 😂 😂 😂 Great video great editing and Charlie looks like Where’s Wally so cute 😂 Go Bloods!
rofl. Where's Wally. That was exactly what came to my mind when I saw Charlie with a beanie on before the game.
Happy for you Swans fan to finish off the Pies in such a wonderful way.
Do not barrack for either team but was heart wrenching to watch those last 20 seconds where the ball could have gone anywhere.
Hey KAP, I think you both needed ventilators at the end lol. What a fantastic first game for Rob and Charlie to see live - yup he’s totally hooked now 😊👍
Heeney's got to be my favourite sydney player of all time.
Its amazing how often with afl that you get that feeling. Not every time but it happens. Its part of the games buzz. Glad it was such a good experience. Come on Swannies next Saturday!
I have been a swans supporter for over 40 years. It was a fantastic game and an even better result. So for tomorrow's grand final GO SWANNIES.
Wooooo Rob, I watched your videos when you were watching from the UK. you picked a great game to see.
I went to my first AFL game at Etihad now Marvel Stadium and it was electric! It was HUGE and so loud. This was like your Disneyland Rob!
You have to get a hoodie!
We have looked online to try and order one too, nothing in our sizes. Hopefully be able to get one when back in Melbourne 😂
Welcome to the Land Down Under guys. The 'old stands' as you call them as part of our history at the Sydney Cricket Ground I think they are beautiful...I've only just seen your posts ...so I didn't realise you were already here lol. I saw the last quarter of the game on tv. Thrilling game. I'm hanging out for our NRL Semi Final for South Sydney Rabbitohs this Saturday...should be epic game.....Have a great stay mate. I hope the weather stays nice for you 💕
It's always better seeing a close game in the stands ... the feeling is ecstatic... the only feeling that trumps it is the feeling from the field!
Oh and I loved when you said to the Lil Collingwood Fan "Who are Ya" I am a Carlton supporter and with the Rivalry thats what I said through the Screen as well! Incredible Game and Incredible Vlog! If you don't get Tickets I hope you will still Vlog your Reaction to the Grand Final wherever you are! Keep up the good work guys
That was funny with the little kid, Collingwood fan after the match.
We will film wherever we may be...
I was there as well. Second row behind the goals, Sydney Cheer Squad end. Just below where you were.
I've noticed a lot of the overseas reactors always query why they have points or behinds in the game and not just goals. NOW YOU KNOW WHY. Adds so much
Knocking off the Pies by one point in a big final. You just lived the dream. Cheer Cheer the red & the white!! Cats v Bloods in the GF for the first time ever. Can't wait for that.
On back to the MCG… just wait until you hear, feel and immerse yourself in the Grand Final! Your first live game could not have been a better one than this! Go swannies, from a StKilda fan…
I'm not a footy fan but to see your camera shake and then see the biggest smiles and cheering going on especially with you Rob, it was awesome just seeing you enjoy yourself so much 😂... at least you didn't knock Charlie out with your ranting 🤣🤗
Helluva game for your first!
Well done mate. You got the full experience😆
welcome to the SCG I take great pride in working there as a security guard glad you both had a great time
gonna say you'll have to be very lucky to get tickets to the grand final though it'll be easier going to the NRL grand final the week after you came to Australia at the right time the week after that is the Bathurst 1000 not sure if you knew that
Great game for your "first" experience, Rob!
Congrats on getting on sunrise, watching it now!
I was like oh I’ve seen them on RUclips and I was right definitely a sub coming your way
Thanks. Gets our name out there. Still on the hunt for tickets
Certainly captured the atmosphere, well done. The crowd is different to Soccer, there's not enough time between plays to sing and carry on, it's more engaged with the game itself. My wife has trouble getting her hear around that, but enjoys the game. Love Aussie rules so much ❤
Deffo time for some songs!!
Well as a Pies fan I can't be happy with the result but I'm glad you were able to experience the best sport in the world live and up close. You picked a belter of a game to be your first.
Not an AFL fan by any stretch , although it was great to see you and Charlie get into the atmosphere at the awesome SCG .
Ayyy it’s posted. What a game it was!!
