I've followed Geelong since I first saw Aussie rules on UK tv, Gary Ablett senior was playing. I've supported Manchester United since I was 8, I'm 64 now and Aussie rules is my favourite game by far. So much more exciting than football (soccer) and more honest. I've never been to Australia and envy you getting to your teams Grand Final match. Well done to you for getting there
Mate, I’m an Aussie that lives in England and loves your channel, and while I’m an ardent Cats supporter I think you captured the way Aussie’s deal with a poor match, so kudos to you
Thanks for taking us to the grand final Charlie & Rob. Part of being a footy fan is being able to take the losses with the wins. The wins are ecstatic, the losses can ruin your week. As they say there's always next week or next year.
Well said. Rob took the loss well in the circumstances. I was impressed to see so many Swans fans in crowd (red and white colour in crowd) at the presentation for the premiership team. As the Cats coach said, you did not have to stay after such a loss but it is classy to still appreciate the best team of the season even though they humbled your team.
@@CharlieandRob At least you hve seen a GF live. I'm a Aussie & never had a chance to go to one. Even last year when we actually hosted one here in Perth. Don't be too disheartened by the result, the Swannies will only be better for this in the future. They hve a great, young & talented list. Geelong were the best team all year. They were on a mission to get it done this season. Especially after 2020. Hope you enjoyed your holiday in Oz. (Apart from the GF).
Well done guys. Yes, it was a fizzer, but nonetheless awesome. Charlie's an angel for sitting with the Cats fans, and she didn't stop smiling the whole time. We hope you had a great day anyway. Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
You're officially baptized as AFL supporters. You experienced the extreme high of winning by 1 point and now on the wrong end of a thrashing. Welcome to the club.
Charlie and Rob you couldn't be more likeable, you're both down to earth wholesame people and all Aussies will welcome you back here maybe viewing a Sydney G.F win in the near future.
As for the Robbie Williams, He absolutely smashed it out of the park. The few people you encountered that didn't like Robbie don't have a clue. He was by far and away the GREATEST pre game entertainment ever and I'm not a massive Robbie fan but credit where it is due, He was brilliant.. everytime we have an Aussie Act it's woeful and it's criticised and complained about how we should get an International act to showcase it...
Those tickets must have cost an arm and a leg! I’m Melbournian and have been to the GF once. I had standing only tix. My sister has been twice. My father, who is in his 70s now, has supported Hawthorn all his life, and when he went to the GF in 2015, it was his first time ever. I cannot tell you how much it meant to him. It’s a real privilege to have witnessed a GF in person, with such great seats! I hope you enjoyed yourselves.
We were lucky as a couple of subscribers couldnt go so we paid sale price. But unfortunately, its a shame it was a demolition of my bloods. A privilage to be able to go though!
Take this as a consolidation gift haha. Glad you guys got to experience a sold out MCG. Hopefully the NRL Grand final this weekend will be a close one.
A close NRL GF? Parramatta might not of even bothered showing up. 28-12? More like 28-0. The Panthers took the foot off the pedal in those final minutes & let Parra hve a couple of consolation tries. Both GF's were underwhelming. A massive dissapointment. Unless you're a Cats or Panthers supporter. 🐱🏆
I am yet to speak with anyone who didn't love Robbie in the pre match entertainment, He was superb and had the bulk of the crowd eating out of his hand. Robbie is world class and if you ever want to hear a bad effort at a Grand Final, you don't need to go any further than Meatloaf in 2011. Don't you tube it if you love Meatloaf as you will lose your love for him as it becomes pity. Robbie would be welcome back to the GF any time.
Everyone around us in M5 was enjoying his performance. I've been lucky enough to have been to five grand finals and that was by far the best per-match entertainment act I've seen. Of course, the bar is low (coughmeatloafcough) but Robbie was genuinely good.
@@CharlieandRob We usually have international acts headlining the entertainment. The last two years were locals because of lockdown. Previously had The Killers, Ed Sheeran, Bryan Adams, Tom Jones, INXS, Meat Loaf, Chris Isaak, Ellie Goulding, Sting, Black Eyed Peas and more. Aussies wouldn’t care if it wasn’t an Aussie. Maybe the people around you had other things on their mind. We Aussies live good international performers (except Meat Loaf who was terrible).
Well done on sticking it out to the end - the sign of a true fan! It’s very cool how dedicated you both are to the sport and hopefully it’s a lifelong passion for you both (as it is for us 😊).
Thanks for uploading this video in light of the result. If nothing else, you got to experience a day that others only dream about! Enjoy the rest of your time here in Melbourne 😊
Thank so much Rob and Charlie for showing us your Grand Final day this is one of your best video I know it didn't go your way and I know what that feels like. Just think how far you've come to Australia and to see your team playing in a Grand Final wow it's funny how you got to see Robbie Williams as well I went a few years ago and got Tom Jones all the best guys and thanks for your time with the video you did a fantastic job
There's room for both International AND Aussie acts at the Grand Final. Happy you guys scored last minute tickets, despite the crappy game. Hope you guys have an awesome time in Melbz for the rest of your stay! :)
Glad you got there in the end, it would have been a shame for you coming all this way & missing out. Happy you both got to experience an AFL Grand Final. Brilliant video thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is the baptism of fire of supporting any AFL team you’ve witnessed the thrill of a one point win and then you’ve also witnessed a absolute drubbing welcome to the fold
You truly are a fully fledged Aussie Rules Supporter…. It’s amazing how much your knowledge of our game has grown over such a short time….. I know the result wasn’t what you wanted…. But you’ve now experienced one of Australia’s true sporting days of the year…. ie… Melbourne cup, Boxing Day Test, and GF Day.
I am loving this….I have the whole Grand Final still on my SKY box….to relive it all again……enjoyed the game…..Robbie what a star…..the G is awesome….oh the whole ethos, fans mixing, good Aussie humour….great up there Cazely….try and watch the iconic film…The Club, I think that’s what it was called…from 1980……I am a Hawks fan….we will return…..one year…..think that AFL really is the best game….and I’m a Jersey Pom…..cannot wait to return to Melbourne, my now adopted city…..great videos…thanks so much
@@CharlieandRob indeed Rob…it was such an anticlimax, considering how well the Swans did against the Pies….still for me I would love to at least get into the last 8 come end of August….my team are Hawthorn…..we have had great success in the past, now a young side trying to challenge, but still think we have ways to go to beat the Cats and Lions and Demons, let alone the Swans and the Pies….still I can dream…cheers
It’s been amazing to watch your journey, I can’t imagine what it’s like for you actually living it! Shame that the game was such a howler but I’m glad you had a great experience. And I 100% agree with you on everything you said about Robbie Williams. Plus he was simply fantastic, I don’t understand how you couldn’t love that performance
great video you two, yes the pain is real, but the occasion; the scale; the excitement... what an event! Robbie was soooo good, with genuine nod to Warnie and Farnsie - real class. Congrats to the Cats, Swannies for 2023
Great to watch you both at the Grandfinal. My heart legitimately bleeds for your Swans and yourselves. I've lived your side's result as well. I've sat through a Geelong Cats loss in a AFL Grandfinal. I know it can be heart breaking. Good thing is you both travelled what 20 thousand kilometres from England and you actually got to the Grandfinal. Great achievement for the Swans and yourselves. An AFL Grandfinal crowds atmosphere you cannot really describe to someone who has never experienced it
Personally, we need more artists like Robbie to perform! No pre game entertainment has ever gotten the whole stadium up and dancing like that! He was so good to watch and plus we’ve ran out of good Australian talent at the moment so I think we should start getting these international artists even if it’s costing the big bucks!
I really don’t think it actually matters. Anyone that is only watching for the pre game music is going to stop watching after the performance. I’m not suggesting any alternatives but honestly the only place I can see it having an impact is if the money paid to the performer allows them to increase the tickets enough to ultimately turn a profit. It draws no one. Sorry to come across so miserable. Lol
Great Vlod Rob I got teary listening to you. I am a very happy Cats fan but I felt sorry for you…….The hype from last week to a disappointing GF but Thankyou for promoting our wonderful game👏👏👏
And I'm another very happy Cats fan. But I loved this video because your passion for the game really came through. And, as with many other long-term fans of AFL clubs, you've seen the highs (so very high) and the lows that come with it. And you stayed to the end, I'm really impressed. Hope you have a great time in Aus for the remainder of your hols. Cheers! (And Go Cats!)
I think you could now imagine the atmosphere of the 2018 grand final. 3/4 time saw the teams at 55 a piece, and the final deciding goal was made with less than 2 minutes remaining after an end to end play by the West Coast Eagles. The insane emotional peak of games like that are given their significance by games like this, where a team can just be depressingly blown off the park in every aspect. Welcome to AFL
Rob and Charlie, I know how you feel as I am a Port supporter and was there when Geelong beat us by 119 points in the GF. I am glad that you got to experience the atmosphere and spectacle though.
Yes so sweet to give him his football boots, particularly when he won’t be playing again. He was also very sweet with Ablett’s young boy taking him through the banner. He gave one of the best speeches I’ve heard at a grand final. Just a really great guy and a great reflection on his club and the code (& I’m a Bombers supporter)
Robbie Williams is very popular here in Australia. It's just that the AFL have paid a fortune in the past for some dud international stars when we've got some amazing homegrown talent here. There've been a lot of complaints. However Robbie proved everyone wrong. He was sensational, right down to his hot pink suit, which looked fabulous. He won the crowd over with his tributes to Shane Warne and John Farnham, you couldn't help be moved when everyone sang along to John's Aussie anthem, You're the Voice. Apparently John himself was blown away, may he get well soon. Sorry the game was so one sided, disappointing for all football fans.😕
At least now you've had the full experience of the highs and the lows! All footy fans have been there. Now you are a true fan! And well done for staying to the end and watching the presentation!👏
Happy that you had a great experience at the MCG, until after Half Time. This is just part of the AFL experience, there are going to be days when your Swans will win and days when your Swans will loose. Sometimes they will loose in Finals and even Grand Finals, but when the Swans win even if its just a Prelim Final those will be the wins you will remember forever regardless of how the Grand Final turned out. The Cats 1994 Prelim Final is a prime example for my situation regardless of how that Grand Final turned out against the Eagles the following weekend. One important thing to know is to never give up on your Swans, you know the reasons why you followed the Sydney Swans and you were lucky enough to come to Australia and see the Swans make the Grand Final in the first place. That in itself is quite an achievement and a good stroke of luck not many people experience with their own Football Clubs when traveling overseas to see their team play.
I’m an Aussie, born in ‘Straya. It’s so Great you got to gf. Aussies take a loss like they should… best team wins, which your vlog showed you appreciated the safety.I understand your love of AFL….but get onto the NRL…great game!Been watching you for over a year, love how Charlie’s confidence has blossomed….she is inspiring!
I watch a bit of rugby league. Want to get to the RL world cup final in November at old Trafford if I can. In terms of videos I make, NRL videos seem to get copyrighted a lot
Although I missed you this time, Charlie & Rob, I am glad you experienced some of the culture up close. Sorry that the AFL grand final didn't go in the Swans favour yet you are some of the few lucky people to witness the spectacle. Isn't it amazing what communication does via your channel and the connections you can make from afar. Enjoy the rest of your stay and have a safe trip home.
That's a great vlog guys. Sorry about the Swans losing, but hey, there is always next year. I am living in Melbourne for 40 years now, and never scored a grand final ticket, so thanks for taking us in. On Robby Williams, to me that was the best opening show in 11 years. They never had any Australian talent, besides John Farnham of a caliber that could do a good footy final show. The worst one was Meat Loaf 10 years ago, he was inebriated at the time I reckon. Anyway. thanks again for a great vlog. Take Care. 👍
It was so fantastic that you got tickets AND got to sit together after the first quarter. Unfortunately it wasn't our day but if it is OK for anyone to beat us - the cats are tolerable 😄 I'm sure your kitties at home will agree! A friend of mine is in the cheer squad and helped make the Swannies banner and was there to hold it, lucky duck!
So glad u got to experience a Grand final even though it was one-sided. Always next year. Robbie Williams was brilliant and you and Charley are awesome!!!! Enjoy the rest of your time in Oz.
I think you have won over a hell of a lot of people with this video. Firstly, you came here and you went to the game. Secondly you were prepared to follow your team till the end , and you still follow them. Thirdly, you were right about Robbie, he was awesome, and about people not supporting him because he isn’t an Aussie. We currently don’t have anyone from here who is that big. And finally, your belief that it is the best game. So many will argue against that but, those who appreciate skill, courage, fitness and 100 minutes of entertainment know what you mean. Hope you enjoyed your stay here.
It is really wonderful to see the way that Charlie is spreading her wings and starting to bloom. You have really helped her to sore Rob! Congratulations to you m8y. Sad for the result on the scoreboard for you. Can't shake the feeling that the swans played their grandfinal one week earlier, and too difficult to get themselves up for another such performance just one week later. But, I think Charlie is far more important than a few numbers on a scoreboard. Cheers to both of you.
@@CharlieandRob Yeah m8, you are doing great, she is doing great. she is actually starting to shine. I am looking at the two of you and in my mind singing REM's"shiny happy people" lol sounds crazy, but i dance on the inside xD
Hey Charlie and Rob that was the first video I'd seen of you guys.and well done. Charlie we were about 10 rows behind you in section M53 and we are die hard Cats fans. You're right, it is the best sport played on this planet and we should all be proud as Australians that opposition supporters can sit together and enjoy it for what it is, a great game. All the best guys. You might even move here one day aye. Cheers
Being an AFL Supporter is riding a Roller Coaster of emotions. You've survived the whole gamut Rob & Charlie. [ps. like so many sports] * Stay safe and thanks for everything. Safe trip home and we look forward to more 'ROB REACTS'. 🙂🙂
You don't need to explain. It hurts my heart when one slide gets slaughtered, even if it's 'my'' team on top. A close game is better for everyone, even if you are the ones that get pipped at the post. It's amazing you two came out here to watch a Grand Final, I've always thought AFL is an amazing game, and worth being played around the world because it's such a dynamic game. It's super exciting more people from around the world have fallen in love with it.
So happy you were both able to experience our great game. Sorry Swans weren’t able to play better but atmosphere was amazing. Robbie Williams was fantastic. Great win for Geelong, Go Cats 🐱
In australia with the afl, supporters of both teams can sit together with no problems for the most part, occasionally there might be a blue but mostly no issues. From what i have seen with soccer, the opposing fans are kept apart. Everyone i spoke too were rapt to have robbie williams as the entertainment and i thought he was brilliant.
So glad you stayed to watch the medal presentation with the little kids and to hear the speeches which were better than most years. I’ve never made it to a grand final. Hope to one day but I’ve been to many Anzac Day matches and they are spine tingling as well. Would be great for you to compare the two experiences - less nerve wracking for you because not your team playing. I’ll keep saying it. Come back in April. Still great weather up north and autumn in Melbourne is lovely.
Fantastic vlog and you nailed it. And seriously Robbie was awesome and loved that he honoured John Farnham and hope you sang alone to that as well. Travel safe
Being a Catz fan, I'll just say condolences... it was a great game and they drove the swans hard and didn't let up. I'm so glad you two got to see the last two games to get the live experience of the roller-coaster of emotions that AFL brings to us every year. Much luvs to you both 🌻
First of all sorry you came all the way from England to watch that performance guys but what an experience it must've been in the lead up to Saturday :) secondly every person I've had conversations with has said Robbie was amazing, I was at the game too and he was great! whoever said that he shouldn't have been there cause he's not Aussie have rocks in their heads. Also whoever gave you tickets to the game they are the real MVP and it's so awesome you guys made it to the game. I hope to see you guys at more games next season. Up the bloods
Yes amazing people to help us with tickets. I did try give them credit on this video and also on my other channel. At least we say swans win against Collingwood the week before!
Robbie was brilliant. Our Aussie music was crap. Everyone I know couldn’t wait to see Robbie. Enjoyed seeing your take on footy. Safe trip. Come back again!
Ahh the highs and lows within a week. Unfortunately it happens about 1 out of every 4 GFs where a team just doesn't show up or gets completely blown off the park very early on and there's no getting back into it (Geelong in 89 probably the only exception). Glad you both managed to get tickets, and even got to sit together for most of it and share the experience.
Hi Charlie and Rob, glad you got tickets to the game, such a shame that the game was so one sided. Thanks once again for the vlog it would of been hard to make.
Was nice meeting you both on Sunrise. It's Catman here. You came a long way to be taught a lesson by the might of that Cats. No one was going to beat us on that day. Hope you had a safe trip back.
Cheers buddy. You too! Yes i didnt really expect swans to win as the cats had been the best team pretty much all season so they deserved it. I would have just liked the swans to turn up.
I sounded like I was gloating here and I'm sorry for that. I was trying to say you came a long way and it's sad for you that the Swannies didn't perform well after such a huge effort to get here. Cheers
You guys were bloody brilliant!! Hats off to the Swans supporters for sticking it out to the bitter end. The line up in the middle for the Swans should have been Charlie (rover), Robbie Williams (centre) & Rob (ruck rover). Might have got a few more clearences out of the guts i reckon. I hope the Bloods can win one for you soon. Congrats to the Cats, they were awesome. Yes Mr Williams was pretty special to see pre game. Cheers from an old suffering Lions fan.
I'm just waiting for my call up to be a coach for an AFL team. It sometimes seems I have more tactical knowledge than current coaches. But as a football/soccer coach and referee I pride myself in having some tactical knowledge that allows me to pick up other sports fairly well
It's so lovely that you and Charlie were able to get tickets from those very wonderful people! I am happy that you at least experienced a GF, but so sorry that your team lost so badly. You've truly had the full spectrum now....something you won't forget, and will make future wins all the more special.
Ahhhh Rob. You don't muck around when you come on a long trip. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows in a week. We allowed ourselves to think we were a chance for a few delightful days, but unfortunately we got in the way of a Geelong team who were just SO GOOD, who played probably a perfect game of football. Sometimes we go in with the best of hopes, only to find out that we're just not ready yet. Robbie Williams was the best part of the day - great performer. I hope you guys have a great rest of your trip, and come back soon!! I didn't think I wanted to relive any of that awful day, but just for you, I watched your whole video. The Swans will be back. What a great season we've had. After the game, I had to go and buy premiership merch for my wife, who is a Geelong supporter. Then drove home to Sydney the next day. That's rubbing salt into the wounds.
I'm so glad you had the opportunity to witness a Grand Final at the MCG. Only wish the Swans put up a better effort. I hope the experience was worth it.. You got a great day for it and great crowd. 100,000 people Could you imagine the atmosphere if the scores reversed from what you saw from the Geelong supporters...
that clip you filmed off the geelong player (joel selwood) covering his face and being picked up by his teammate after he kicked a goal was because even though he hadn’t publicly announced it, everyone had a feeling he’d be retiring not long after the grand final, which he did few end up doing, and i’m sure it’s safe to assume that he’d already told his teammates it would be his last game, considering the way they got around him after his goal. during that speech from the sydney captain; “joel selwood, sometimes you have to pinch yourself when you play alongside legends of the game, and hes an absolute legend” was about him. Just thought i’d give you some context, winning the grand final was like the cherry on top to his amazing career and he will go down as one of the greats of the game. You could even year the crowd cheer louder when he got his medal, i think everyone had a feeling he would retire soon. hes now a leadership coach for a NRL team
Aussie here - Robbie was awesome - I don’t know who you were listening to. The poll in the Herald Sun online (Melbourne newspaper) was like 97% loved Robbie. You two are adorable! Honorary Aussies.
@@CharlieandRob We could make excuses on that basis but …. C’mon it was Robbie!! He was always going to be awesome and he was even better than that! I hope the nay-sayers were schooled. Glad you got to go…even though the swans lost.
Wow! What great sentiment at the end with your closing speech. I’ve really enjoyed following your trip. Hope there are more highlights in store for the remaining time you have here. Bye for now.
Rob, I just watched your very first "What is AFL" video yet again!! You said you didn't understand why they have finals. But perhaps you understand now.... the crowds are even BIGGER, and the atmosphere is electric!! And the ROAR of the crowd.... there's nothing like it!!
Really good vlog guys. It was awful the outcome. The poor old young Swans players were shattered. Dan Rampe spoke really well after the game. Glad your overall experience has been good. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. We've been working at exporting the game but the uptake is slow. There are amateur leagues in the USA and UK and Europe and I think Japan too. Mostly started by Aussie expats.
Man I totally feel this. This game totally felt like a replay of the 2019 Grand Final when Richmond played GWS. It was the almost the exac same thing. I have no idea what happened but I do know that Geelong did not win by a greater margin. I checked. I am petty like that.
Great comments at the end, that’s one thing about afl, even though we all love our team and hate some of the other teams, in the end we all appreciate each others passion and that the game is bigger than all of us..
When thomas wills came back from rugby in england he never wouldve guessed that the game he invented to stop cricketers from falling into slovenliness during the winter break would grow to be greater than the game he loved. This giant of a man is barely known in his own land and unremembered. A movie must be made.
Excellent video….totally agree with your sentiments…..the whole ethos , the respect shown and given in this fantastic game, needs to be shared around the world……I understand some schools in London have footy as part of their PE structure….thank goodness for BT Sport, this game is so enjoyable for all genders, it’s inclusive…..I was a full on English football supporter, but since 1986, and more recently around 2015, I watch more footy, at least five games a week, enjoying the AFLW just now as well…..all we need are bigger playing areas, or maybe AFLX to fuel interest at all age groups……this game can only grow, maybe one day we too can play internationals at same level, and full AFL rules , not a international Rules set up……love Australia, the flora and fauna….the people and above all…..AFL…..again excellent video…..cheers guys
Robbie and Delta blew the roof off, I think it was the best entertainment package ever, Temper Trap butchered their set though, was awesome that you you finally got to sit together, what luck, it happens all the time though, even though people are dying for a seat, they say it's sold out, and yet seats go unattended, shame on whoever didn't take their seat, lucky for you guys though.
Few weeks ago I saw someone in your comments getting really cocky saying how the swans will smash geelong... I hope they’re doing well 😊 In all seriousness it’s really cool that you guys got to experience the biggest game in person
I'm so glad we don't have that hostile atmosphere you have in the UK. Yes we have rivalries here, but everyone gets along. I know it's a cliche that Australians are very friendly and chill, but it's actually (mostly) true. And Australia is sooooo much safer than the UK crime-wise. Glad you're having what looks like a great time. Would be great to hear your overall thoughts on Australia and your trip once you get back.
Robbie Williams did really good job in the Pre-match Entertainment. The people around me at Federation Square really enjoyed his performance and I really loved his adaptation of a classic John Farnham song "Your the Voice". I remember being a little kid first listening to that song when it was first released and one of my earliest memories of listening to music on the radio at the time. So that song is a classic Australian Song. Robbie Williams is no John Farnham, but at least he did his own cover of the famous song and I felt he did a really amazing performance.
It’s strange to hear you say people at the ground weren’t happy with Robbie Williams because everyone I spoke to was glowing in their praise of his performance. Glad you got to experience a Grand Final - it’s an awesome experience.
Agree with all of your comments, it's the best game and we should absolutely be welcoming of everyone (and sorry to hear some weren't, they're just being eggs). Sorry to see your team lose, I thought of you and Charlie on the day watching at home, but that's what this game is all about - their next win will be all the sweeter. Now you're a true blue AFL fan 😊 some of us are Aussies born and bred and have still never gotten a GF ticket so count yourself lucky 😁
Hope this day will always hold a special place in your hearts despite the results. Still an incredible experience. Completely agree with your opinions from start to finish especially about Robbie. I've had the pleasure of seeing him in concert and he is an amazing entertainer. Bakery meat pies are where it's at... footy pies not so much. Hope you both enjoy the rest of your trip... it's been wonderful to watch. Really looking forward to Charlie at the sanctuary.
What a great video. As a Geelong supporter who lives in Geelong (and works on air on a Geelong radio station!) it’s been a HUGE week. I’m annoyed I didn’t get to come down and meet you both in Melbourne but I was sick and didn’t want to give you my cold! I’ll certainly come down and meet you next time. As for people complaining about Robbie. He’s great! The AFL often have international artists perform so not sure why they were so precious about him being there. I’m annoyed I was sick so couldn’t meet you this time. I’ll gladly make the drive from Geelong next time you’re both here. I love visiting the UK. It’s the same but kind of different! Maybe you feel like that visiting Australia? Have a great holiday, a safe trip home! Meet you both next time! Craig - Geelong 😊
Except in North Melbourne’s case you’ll watch every one of our games just to see us lose them all except 1 or 2. That’s been the pattern since 2017.
I had one bite of my dinner that evening and I was done... I felt awful!

I saw tons of nice comments about Robbie from Aussies. Aussie loved his performance!
In all seriousness, it must be nice to know that whichever team’s supporters surround you, you are safe.

Thank you so much mate!!
Geeze it would be grouse if they could back up for the NRL GFL, that will be a real game to see.
@@1mmickk would be great, and rob would get to see the inside of anz stadium (I’m never calling it Accor I hate that name).
@@StarHawk_ Well given his form, I hope he goes for the Panthers the Eels should pay them both to sit in the Panthers box.
I dont think they didnt enjoy the performance. He was amazing. More that he wasnt an aussie
The highs and lows to the empty feeling of watching your team. AFL is the greatest game ever. Robbie was the best thing from the day.
I don’t think the Swans let us down. Geelong played so well. No one would have beaten them on the day. I went into a deep depression at half time.
I think I should get a job as a afl coach so these guys actually learn some tactics!! :D
I am loving this….I have the whole Grand Final still on my SKY box….to relive it all again……enjoyed the game…..Robbie what a star…..the G is awesome….oh the whole ethos, fans mixing, good Aussie humour….great up there Cazely….try and watch the iconic film…The Club, I think that’s what it was called…from 1980……I am a Hawks fan….we will return…..one year…..think that AFL really is the best game….and I’m a Jersey Pom…..cannot wait to return to Melbourne, my now adopted city…..great videos…thanks so much
I dont think I will bother rewatching the GF haha
An AFL Grandfinal crowds atmosphere you cannot really describe to someone who has never experienced it
Considering what you've done for the game your tickets are fully deserved.
I would also say, i never approached the tv companies about going on tv, they asked me :)
Lol
Robbie was awesome, but don't forget Lionel Richie, who got the G up and rockin'.
Geeze, how old are you 6? if not, youve got a very bad memory.
Yeah. Meatloaf was fantastic.
Robbie was definitely the best thing about all of that. He always knows how to put on a show! Glad you got to see him, Charlie 😊❤
Great Vlod Rob I got teary listening to you. I am a very happy Cats fan but I felt sorry for you…….The hype from last week to a disappointing GF but Thankyou for promoting our wonderful game👏👏👏
I'm also a Cats fan and I endorse your comment. 🙂👍 Great work Rob and Charlie. Genuinely sorry it wasn't a better game for you.
Charlies comment after i stopped filming at the end... "I thought you were about to cry" haha
Welcome to AFL
and imagine the catharsis if Sydney get one back over Geelong next year!
Rob and Charlie, I know how you feel as I am a Port supporter and was there when Geelong beat us by 119 points in the GF. I am glad that you got to experience the atmosphere and spectacle though.
Amazing!! How lucky are we Aussies!! A great event for an English couple to expert!!
I 100% agree with you! This game should be shared with the world.
What a person joel Selwood not a father yet but look how he looked after the the young boy at the medal presentation
What a true leader he is
Yes so sweet to give him his football boots, particularly when he won’t be playing again.
John has a quakzene injury
Glad you got to see the big dance. Safe travels and thanks for your footy journey this year.
Cheers Peter. Considering we came for the football and managed to get the the GF just sums up our story!
@@CharlieandRob great. Am glad you like our v8 Supercars too.
*soar, but that is a very touching comment you’ve made.
Shes doing great right. Im forcing her to become more confident
In terms of entertainment it was 1-0 to England, Robbie was excellent. He was like Geelong, he really turned up to play.
Lucky whiskers…
I never leave early. Always stay to the bitter end. You’ve got to show support to your team.
Much luvs to you both 🌻
I'm pretty sure everyone loved Robbie Williams..Fantastic entertainer...1s class
We’ll done for staying to the end. Much respect for sticking it out.
Of course. I had to stay for the whole experience
Congratulations on doing basically the impossible and getting grand final tickets last minute, 👍👍 great to see u enjoyed Australia
Certainly mixed feelings about the gf 🤠
@@CharlieandRob Don't ever give up your team,
I'm Melbournian, and born St Kilda.
Still my team!
So happy you got absolutely thrashed on the biggest stage! Was enjoying every cats goal and every swans tear. Go the pies
wow a bit much buddy...
After the game we went to try get a swans hoodie. Lots of Cats premiership merch...they must have thrown a lot of swans premiership merch out!! :D
It was the cats fans Charlie was sat next to that moaned that he wasn't an Aussie.
Thank you! Honest truth. Yes lots more videos from Sydney, Adelaide and then Melbourne. I had to sneak the gf in there out of order.
How quickly everyone has forgotten how fantastic The Killers were a few years ago plus they played a concert afterwards. Best ever.
Pretty cool to watch your video after seeing it live on t.v well done on the journey.
I'm so glad they let Charlie sit with you Rob, would've been a bit daunting for her sitting on her own
Yea the steward said, we can have her sitting on her own with the other team!
Did you realise that’s Captain Cooks cottage you walked past at 25:48 it the bricks were brought out from England and rebuilt
I was thinking that too. 🤣🤣
It is like a baby in comparison to most british architecture though, so they don't even blink. Lol
haha I had no idea!
I hope they’re doing well 😊
In all seriousness it’s really cool that you guys got to experience the biggest game in person
It's just a Four n Twenty frozen meat pie you can get from the supermarket. The good pies are the ones freshly made at a pastry shop/bakery.
Balfours pies are too bad.
Four n twenty or patties pies are frozen never fresh pies, bakeries have fresh or close to fresh pies
It was what Charlie heard at the start when she was around the feeling fans. I think it's that people would prefer an Aussie singijg
and what a game it was i hope you enjoyed it the atmosphere must have been electric
I was working at Richmond station on grand final day
Agree with all of your comments, it's the best game and we should absolutely be welcoming of everyone (and sorry to hear some weren't, they're just being eggs).
I enjoyed the "eye candy" at least! 😂
I think that is the first time I have ever felt true pride for our national anthem. LOL
Glad you made the trip down guys
I know that there are Aussie ex-pat amateur AFL teams in the USA, Canada and some European countries. Are there any in England for Rob?
Yes, AFL London is one of the biggest leagues outside of Australia. There are also AFL Central & Northern England and Southern England AFL.
@@godamid4889 Thanks. I hope that Rob reads this.
@@barnowl5774 yeah, he is young and fit enough to still have a crack.
Yes i have seen about afl england...but nothing that local. It doesnt seem like the website is kept up to date very well
Hope this day will always hold a special place in your hearts despite the results.
Robbie Williams, man that was awesome 👍
We were there with you guys ❤
So glad you got to go..i still havent been to an AFL Gf ... damn Cats grrr . Been loving the VLogs.
Robbie really was fantastic! I even like the song he gave up on half way through! 🤣
