I'm sorry, but Poznań is not the oldest city in Poland. Kalisz is considered to be the oldest city, with mentions of it found in writings from the times of the Roman Empire. Unfortunately, there are not many monuments in it because it was the first city to be completely destroyed. This happened during World War I. In the interwar period it was practically rebuilt. However, Poznań can be considered one of the oldest capitals of Poland. It is generally agreed that the oldest capital is Gniezno, but at that time there were no central institutions and the place where the ruler resided was considered the capital. Since Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) was the first district of Poland and the two largest cities there were Gniezno and Poznań, the prince and the king stayed there most often. Well, we conventionally consider Gniezno to be the oldest capital of Poland.
It’s worth noting that ancient writings did not refer to what was destroyed during WW1. Probably Ptolemy mentioned what is now known as Zawodzie (and is located roughly 2 km up the river or to the South).
You should know that Scottish people come from Poznań but long time ago they were expelled from the city for being too spendthrift. I got seriously hungry after the last part.
Hi, nice video showing the cathedral, I can already imagine what kind of pub you could build there and a climbing wall. I saw something similar in Belgium, but this would beat everything 😁 there are too many churches and they are empty, it's a shame to waste them 😆
Jestem ciekaw skąd u Rob'a taka "fascynacja" krajem jakim jest Polska. Oglada polskie kabarety, teraz jeżdzi i odwiedza rózne częsci Polski?
Obie te miejsca są w okolicy Poznania (50km) Poznań has a bit of an ego and adds to itself these beginnings of statehood. The first capital has always been and is Gniezno and the baptism of Poland took place in Ostrów Lednicki. Both of these places are near Poznań (50 km)
W przyszłym roku mamy tysiąclecie, koronacji i śmierci Bolesława Chrobrego, fajnie jakby Poznań z Gnieznem coś wspólnie przygotowały. Pewnie będzie to też świetna okazja żebyś odwiedził oba miast i się trochę doedukował. [English] Nobody is adding anything. Formally, we a capital in Poland since the times of Kraków, before that it was a very formalized, because there was no document that would establish such a thing. It is certain that the first bishopric in Poland was located in Poznań and that it is one of the residences and burial place of the first rulers from the Piast dynasty. As for the baptism, not much is known, even the year 966 is kind of assumption and here you are trying to pretend, that you know where exactly it happened. At the moment, the 3 most probable places are Ostrów Lednicki, Gniezno and Poznań (where something that could be a baptismal font was found, whether it exists, we will probably never know). Next year we have the millennium, of coronation and death of Bolesław Chrobry. It would be great if Poznań and Gniezno prepared something together. It would probably be a great opportunity for you to visit both cities and educate yourself a bit.
We Wrocławiu też stoi tam taki okropny budynek.

Kiedyś ten teatr wizytował ówczesny książę, a dziś Król Karol III. Pozdrawiam.

I didnt say it was the oldest. I said one of the oldest :)
@@CharlieandRob Yes,ok. I'm sorry.
@@piotrnotecki6196 hahahahhahahahahhaha xD
It’s worth noting that ancient writings did not refer to what was destroyed during WW1.
Probably Ptolemy mentioned what is now known as Zawodzie (and is located roughly 2 km up the river or to the South).
18:41 też: kluchy na łachu (w Kaliszu)
w standardowym polskim: pyzy drożdżowe
5:10 no, it was all built, mainly, to praise God
You should know that Scottish people come from Poznań but long time ago they were expelled from the city for being too spendthrift. I got seriously hungry after the last part.
Olsztyn is most underrated
Hi, nice video showing the cathedral, I can already imagine what kind of pub you could build there and a climbing wall. I saw something similar in Belgium, but this would beat everything 😁 there are too many churches and they are empty, it's a shame to waste them 😆
Jestem ciekaw skąd u Rob'a taka "fascynacja" krajem jakim jest Polska.
Oglada polskie kabarety,
teraz jeżdzi i odwiedza rózne częsci Polski?
Kzahstan?:)
Well I came in 2012 and loved it since. So thought I should learn more and visit more!
Most underrated? Lol. Go to Lublin.
I moved out and now live in a suburban village. IMHO this city is overrated.
Thank you for your videos.
Żurek no, it was mainly about the main dish
Poznań has a bit of an ego and adds to itself these beginnings of statehood. The first capital has always been and is Gniezno and the baptism of Poland took place in Ostrów Lednicki. Both of these places are near Poznań (50 km)
[Polski]
W przyszłym roku mamy tysiąclecie, koronacji i śmierci Bolesława Chrobrego, fajnie jakby Poznań z Gnieznem coś wspólnie przygotowały. Pewnie będzie to też świetna okazja żebyś odwiedził oba miast i się trochę doedukował.

Nobody is adding anything.
