I was on the beach the day they started filming with my family. I remember we walked around trying to get a better look at the action as the sun set. Truly a cherished memory for me. 🦇

I moved to Santa Cruz in August 1987. I remember seeing the film with some locals and then visiting the locations later that week with them. It was fun because one of them was in the opening credits.

I’m from the UK. This is one of my favourite movies ever. I took a trip to the west coast in 2001. One of those places was Santa Cruz. I had no idea that this was where the film was shot until I walked down the boardwalk and saw the rides and everything clicked. Was a magical moment for me. I spent a few days finding locations. This made me relive that. Thank you so much .

The one thing I could never stomach about Santa Carla, all the damn vampires. Awesome video as always Kurt! I lived in Santa Cruz for a long time and spent a lot of time at the skate park and the Boardwalk, good memories.

Kurt Kurt Kurt, that was absolutely amazing, what can I say..I've actually been to a few of these locations back in 2011 when I visited LA. I took a walk down to the caves entrance as well. I absolutely loved like I do all the attention to detail you have for each scene you film. At least I can say I've been to a few of these locations for this 80s classic. Well done. Looking forward to the next one
I was in Santa Cruz a couple of years ago and I never even thought to check out the Lost Boys locations. I'll have to do that next time i'm in the area. Thank you for the awesome work as usual!
What a great tour! Being my favorite film of all time, I always wanted to visit "Santa Carla". Watching this felt like the next best thing. Blending reality with nostalgia kind of messed with my brain in a good way. Thanks again, and cheers from Australia 👍🏽

One of my all time favorites. I saw this in the theater at 13 years old. I thought that the vampires were the coolest thing ever. Hanging out at the beach, riding motorcycles, living in a super cool cave. They were everything I wanted to be.
This film is also my second favorite homoerotic horror film of the 1980s. My favorite of course being Nightmare on Elm Street 2.
I was just working a block away from the Thriller house in Echo Park. Maybe you could do a video on music video locations in LA.

Great video Kurt, we live in Sacramento, but one of my boys lives in Santa Cruz so we are there often. Love the movie, love Santa Cruz. I believe it was 2007 when we were there for Alamo Draft House's Lost Boys 20th anniversary showing of the movie on the beach. It was surreal to watch the opening scene on the beach and then glance right to see the same exact scene IRL. Very cool!

One of my favorite movies! I also visited Santa Cruz specifically to check out the locations, already years ago. Was staying in Santa Cruz at a fabulous place. Very nice people. They also got me a bracelet to get on all of the rides at the boardwalk. Sweet memories 😀

I was at Santa Cruz for my birthday this year and I gotta say, the Atlantis Fantasy World staff have to be the most friendly comic book shop employees I have ever met. I regret not getting a replica of the Vampire Comic, as I know they sell that. I did get a Lost Boys magnet though.
