I was on the beach the day they started filming with my family. I remember we walked around trying to get a better look at the action as the sun set. Truly a cherished memory for me. 🦇
I'm going to see it at the cinema on Monday night. It's the 4k restoration. Then we have tickets to go see the poltergeist 40th anniversary 4k restoration on the 24th. Can't wait.
I moved to Santa Cruz in August 1987. I remember seeing the film with some locals and then visiting the locations later that week with them. It was fun because one of them was in the opening credits.
I’m from the UK. This is one of my favourite movies ever. I took a trip to the west coast in 2001. One of those places was Santa Cruz. I had no idea that this was where the film was shot until I walked down the boardwalk and saw the rides and everything clicked. Was a magical moment for me. I spent a few days finding locations. This made me relive that. Thank you so much .
I was in Santa Cruz a couple of years ago and I never even thought to check out the Lost Boys locations. I'll have to do that next time i'm in the area. Thank you for the awesome work as usual!
Brilliantly done,I’m visiting CA from Ireland next year and a visit to Santa Cruz is on the list you have made it so easy for ppl too spot the filming areas thank you.
Kurt Kurt Kurt, that was absolutely amazing, what can I say..I've actually been to a few of these locations back in 2011 when I visited LA. I took a walk down to the caves entrance as well. I absolutely loved like I do all the attention to detail you have for each scene you film. At least I can say I've been to a few of these locations for this 80s classic. Well done. Looking forward to the next one
One of my all time favorites. I saw this in the theater at 13 years old. I thought that the vampires were the coolest thing ever. Hanging out at the beach, riding motorcycles, living in a super cool cave. They were everything I wanted to be. This film is also my second favorite homoerotic horror film of the 1980s. My favorite of course being Nightmare on Elm Street 2. I was just working a block away from the Thriller house in Echo Park. Maybe you could do a video on music video locations in LA.
Great video Kurt, we live in Sacramento, but one of my boys lives in Santa Cruz so we are there often. Love the movie, love Santa Cruz. I believe it was 2007 when we were there for Alamo Draft House's Lost Boys 20th anniversary showing of the movie on the beach. It was surreal to watch the opening scene on the beach and then glance right to see the same exact scene IRL. Very cool!
Your the only filming locations person that I actually have to stop and pay attention because it's so detailed. Also, this is by far the best Lost Boys filming locations. Better than grimmelife. You seriously have the most underrated youtube filming l ocations channels
Your best work yet!!! Amazing footage and attention to detail Kurt especially the comparison with the Santa Clara billboard and surfer monument. Great stuff and I’m sure Rob Lowe will sign that photo lol
Ah, have to watch again soon. Maybe tonight. What an absolute classic.👍💜👏🧡 Thanks Kurt! Brings me back to my teenage years for sure!🦇 Grandpas house should be a museum. It's just sitting there rotting away so sad.
Brilliant Kurt, your work is spot on dude, one of my all time favourites, the soundtrack is brilliant too, still listen to it all the time, big respect coming from England.
What a great tour! Being my favorite film of all time, I always wanted to visit "Santa Carla". Watching this felt like the next best thing. Blending reality with nostalgia kind of messed with my brain in a good way. Thanks again, and cheers from Australia 👍🏽
Another great movie location video Kurt. Your creative style is awesome and shines through in such a unique way in each video. Can’t wait for the next one!
This was fun and your editing skills are really improving with each post …the Lost Boys is by far one of my favorites as well .. Glad you did this one Kurt 👍🏻
Excellent video from a great a movie. I was 14 when this came out and instantly become a fan of the Lost Boys, Also loved when the 2 Coreys did License to drive right after. RIP Corey Haim.
I've seen many movie location videos in the past and yours by far are the most detailed(complete)and most informative out of all of them. Awesome job!!!✌️😎
Hell yes, great movie and great filming location video.. Lost Boys was a fantastic vampire movie.. Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Patric, Corey Feldman, and Corey Haim were fabulous in this movie 🎥
I was at Santa Cruz for my birthday this year and I gotta say, the Atlantis Fantasy World staff have to be the most friendly comic book shop employees I have ever met. I regret not getting a replica of the Vampire Comic, as I know they sell that. I did get a Lost Boys magnet though.
First of all killer video, classic 80s horror at its best. I always wondered how they filled up the the bathtub with the holy water just from the canteens.
One of my favorite movies! I also visited Santa Cruz specifically to check out the locations, already years ago. Was staying in Santa Cruz at a fabulous place. Very nice people. They also got me a bracelet to get on all of the rides at the boardwalk. Sweet memories 😀
This was incredible. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. All these years later, I thought it was the couple that killed in the beginning, not a security guard. 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️ Thanks Kurt!
You deserve so much credit for your content on youtube..your filming location videos are so watchable and filled with details...it must take you ages to research for your content...amazing work on all your content.

Hard to believe it's been 35 years! Time flies. Great job as always! You should do a Rad filming locations video!
Rad is a cool idea but Calgary's a bit inconvenient to get to.

the boardwalk used to screen the movie on the beach around Halloween, it was great. Dont know if they still do that.
We were spoilt with so many great movies in the 80's.
