My dad played Burt the security guard in this movie. He explained how they made the kid look frozen after the pool spit him out
Tell us how they did it!
Hollywood secrets spill the bean's

@@davidniehaus202 why?
So cool!!
🤟
Nothing hits like an 80's horror movie
Forreal!!!
One of the best decades for horror. 👍
Heather O’Rourke was ahead of her time and gone way too soon 🙏🏼an eternal Hollywood princess that will be forever admired for her onscreen talent and presence 🎬 she was undoubtedly, in her 12 years, a gift to tv and to cinema 🎥👼🏻🥲
100% agree. RIP, Heather... 🌹
I agree with you Heather O Rourke is was amazing love her miss her ❤❤❤❤
@@LauraSusanUilani She had abilities her goal in life was to change the mess in hella wood speaking of that Hollywood is a wood people use to make dark magic sticks ? I found this out last year
But Heather was killed a well known celebrity was told this by a higher up to scare him BUT he was told this never the less and yes EVERY ONE. Know who this guy was and film he played in
@@kejuansallad7322 What? Yeah ok, then why don't you tell us who this is? You're full of crap dude!
I cannot put into words how much I loved this movie, I ordered the VHS from deleted stock in my local store at 12 years old, and then watched it until it broke. Thank you for doing what I've always wanted to do and gone to where the building is, this video is awesome. 😎🤘Rest in Peace Heather O'Rourke who was famously not actually in the last scene due to what happened. 🎈
I'm a huge fan of the Poltergeist movies. It's so sad that Heather O'Rourke and Dominque Dunne were lost so soon. May they rest in peace, as well as Will Sampson, whom I loved in PII, and of course, Zelda Rubenstein. 🌹🌹🌹🌹 Thank you for another fun adventure, Michael and Jessica! Happy...Halloween!! 💚🖤🧡💜
Also Julian Beck (the original Kane).
My older sister is about three weeks older than Heather O’Rourke. She just turned 47. Heather died when she was 12. It’s crazy how she’s been gone for so long but would still be young. It’s so sad she was misdiagnosed & died from something completely treatable. That’s not a curse, that’s just bad medical treatment.
Not trying to one up you but I'm 6 days older than Heather. I also had long blonde hair with bangs.
Here's a fun fact about Heather, she was one of the highest paid child stars in Hollywood at the time. When she did "New Leave it To Beaver", her scenes were usually done in one take to keep the cost down. A body double was used in some of the mirror scenes in PIII because in her words, "She couldn't be in two places at once."
Poltergeist 3 is a awesome movie. My heart hurts when thinking about Heather passing away on not seeing her at the end of the movie.
This was amazing don't think I've ever seen anyone else cover these filming locations. My mom claims she worked in the building where the garage scenes were filmed. She said they made a big mess and some explosions. Love this !!!
Thank you for sharing

Thanks for showing my go to 1st date when I was younger. Hancock observatory and Water Tower place. Went to High School for a year and a half 3 blocks from there, so the Gold Coast/Streeterville area will always be in my heart.
Omg. When the window cleaner started going down and he looked up at her, I still get the chills as I did when I first saw it as a kid
Me too 😂
That was cane
@@jaymeojeda1160 so they used the same actor?
@@yautjaxenomorph9472 No it was a different actor, the guy in the 2nd movie, passed away from cancer.
@@Mrd9960 i know that the original kane actor from part 2 passed away. What i wuz asking is if the actor that wuz the window washer is also the actor used to play Kane in part 3?
R.I.Paradise
Heather O'Rourke. 💕
I used to live in Chicago and every time I looked at the Handcock Building, I thought about Chris Farley. That's the building he died in...
R.I.P. Heather O'Rourke 💔😢
Poltergeist 3 out of all the films made gives me a heavy heart knowing Heather O'Rourke looked so ill playing Carol-anne. Still love it though. And it was the better for her being in it. Such a talented child actress. Sad loss.
Thanks for the video, Michael. I went to school with Heather in the 5th grade (back in 1985) at Big Bear Lake Elementary in Big Bear Lake, CA. So sad that she died so young.
What was she like
@@superduperwillsaxby That was years ago. I hardly remember. She seemed like your average kid, I guess
I had the biggest crush on her, as a kid growing up, was so devastated when she died.
Hollywood put Chicago in the spotlight and also has real life significance. Thank you both for highlighting those moments in our city and we all look forward to your next Grimm adventure!
Love this… thought I was the only one that loved P3.
Thank you for all the love and hard work. You two are amazing 😘
Nope! I LOVE PG3!
No idea how cold it is in Chicago, but here in Ireland, we have the coal fire lit, with peat logs, best festive smell ever!
@@outlander_... Heating on now for an hour to heat up the radiators upstairs for the evening! Eeh Sassenach it's quare and fresh oot!
@@outlander_... A fine, fine celtic specimen!
i have never been one for filing location video's i am not that big into movies. but the way you two play and recreate certain scenes to correlate the movie it makes it fun and enjoyable to watch. never seen any of the movies so now i have to go watch them lol. you two are awesome.
Thank you Alex…and have fun my friend
Structurally, Chicago is a very interesting city. I can see why so many movies have been filmed there.
I would have loved to have been able to spend some time there back in the days when this movie was filmed, because that was when the Wax Trax store was around and Medusa's was open. Chicago had a great underground music scene in those days.
Love going to the signature lounge on the 96th floor for a cocktail and check out the views did it during a lightning storm it was awesome. The Hancock building sadly is where Chris Farley died.
Love the trilogy. The Kane character haunts me still from my childhood eek. Happy Halloween 🎃
Fun fact: Antione Le Fey was born right around where you two are standing. Now for my lament: HOW DO I KEEP MISSING YOU TWO?!?? Well, air hugs and THANK YOU guys for all of the fun videos!
This is another great video! Being from Chicago I've been really enjoying all the new Chicago location videos. Glad your back in town and you guys really are the best on RUclips at what you do! Lining up all the shots and the clips you add in! Very entertaining!
Zelda Rubinstein as Tangina was some of the best casting ever.
Love the video. Always had love for Poltergeist 3. RIP Heather O'Rourke. The John Hancock Building is also where Chris Farley both lived and unfortunately died in 1997
I must say THANK YOU!!! all of your Videos are on point of perfection. The Explanations, the Background Stories, just everything is way over perfectionism.
I’m friends with Michael Grais. The writer/Producer of 1 & 2 and producer of the remake. He’s a great guy and super down to earth. Freaking cool you seen the filming locations of #3!! 🤘
Thank you Grimm and Jess. I drove a carriage back in 82 and we would park our carriages between the Hancock and Watertower Place. Right where the bus was sitting. Many cold, blustery evenings with the cold wind coming off of the Lake from the East. I also remember watching the Hancock swaying in the wind up near the top. It would look like it was swaying 4 feet back and forth. Thank you again for another great video.
That Hancock Tower is amazing, I went up top there, the view is incredible, you can see everything, I did the Tilt, was really fun!
@@Mrd9960 The same thing happens with the Willis(Sears) Tower. I would to the Skydeck there alot. I am a big architecture fan and was very lucky to have grown up in Chicago. I went to Water Tower Place alot as well, but regret not going up into the Hancock.
Thanks for showing us ,the filming locations of the movie Poltergiest 3. Must have been fun showing all the locations of the film.An rest in peace Heather O' Rouke as this film is dedecated to her memory.
RIP Heather O'Rourke 🤍✝️🙏🏻
Also want to give a shout out to Heather O’Rourke… It breaks my heart that she died so young. Her cheeks were puffy in this movie because of steroid injections from her illness. It’s really upsetting to see a child die. I could never be a doctor or paramedic. That’s a tough life… This movie will always make me feel really sad.
I dont see your videos for periods of time but inevitably you post something I literally must watch
I didn’t know the mall scene is from another building in poltergeist 3, I thought they film it in the same building back then. Heather O’Rourke in this movie acting is so good, sad that she didn’t got to do more movies or seen this be released in theaters the same year when she pass away in 1988. ❤️
I thought the same too. I live outside NYC, and it’s not uncommon for a mall or shopping area to be at the base of a huge apartment complex or a regular office building.
I rmbr passing by Trump Tower many times when going into The City. It was kinda well known because of the “gold” outside. Not by the name, at least for a kid. I rmbr going in there eventually with my family just to look around, and the downstairs looked similar to the mall scene in the movie. I think we checked it out finally because Home Alone 2 just happened, and we were checking out the locations where some of it was filmed. We went to The Plaza too, to explore more in depth than we usually did :). A good memory :)
the single shot of that clip in the movie where the sculpture's head turns in the reflection was so freaking creepy. so simple yet says so much.
I love Jessica's recreation of the puddle scene in the parking garage .. kinda reminds me of when the wicked witch is melting after being drenched in water.
I was in high school when this movie came out. I will tell you it scared the heck out me! Great video !! thank you for doing this! Rest in Peace to little Heather I was so sad when I found out she passed 😢🙏🏽
I love Watertower Plaza. I am Canadian but visited Chicago when I was in University and fell in love with it. 💜
Great video guys. I grew up around water tower place and the Hancock building in the 1980s. Excellent footage. The area hasn't changed too much but the Water tower place shops have of course changed. Heather O'Rourke's tragic story deserves a full video and the production history of Poltergeist 3 is often cited as one of the most cursed in cinema history. Are you still in Chicago? Candyman and Michael Mann's Thief have excellent 1980s Chicago scenes as well.
Nancy Allen, Lara Fynn Boyle and Tom Skerrit? Damn, why i've never watched it?
BTW, Jessica's reenacment are pure gold.
RIP Heather O'Rourke and Dominique Dunne.
Love this movie and I know I’m one of the very few.. I love the trilogy not many can say that. RIP Heather.
🖤🥀🖤
That corner window that you guys were at, was also the window where Ferris Bueller and friends stood up on the railing and leaned their head against the glass looking down. History from two great movies in that same spot.
I haven't watched that movie since I learned she passed away. She was my fave when I was a kid because I was a kid as well at that time. Makes me wonder what cinema wit her would be like if she was still arnd. Rest peacefully little Queen in a land of Giants because it's you in our hearts
Thank you for another masterpiece in my town! I really enjoyed the tour you took us on, and the matchups were brilliant! Jessica was funny with her little reenactments and the kicker was how you ended it in the tunnel... thank you! 😍
I love Michael, but you're right, Jessica steals the show, even just quietly walking behind Michael. Jessica needs her own fan club!
This was so cool to be able to see, I love that you found the parking structure as well, those cars chasing them was one of my worst fears when I was a kid but it was also one of my favorite scenes in the movie.
Thank you two so much for going out to all these locations!
well done michael and jessica just love the poltergeist franchise and thanks for taking us along for the ride happy halloween
Just when I think you cannot top the last. The nostalgia of my childhood. I can feel the childhood fear! Love it!
I absolutely loved Poltergeist 3. It's one of the first horror movies I saw that was set in Chicago.
What you do and the way you do it , with grace ,respect for the dead, and the way you switch back and forth to the real movie is AMAZING AND INSPIRING. detailed and precise.
Thank you so much
I find the reflections really creepy in this movie. Mirrors everywhere. I really enjoy your videos!!
It’s funny because you know what’s coming when there’s a mirror in a horror movie with ghosts, but it still shocks you when it happens. Classic jump scares!
The Hancock Building is also where Chris Farley died in his apartment from an overdose.
I'm with Jessica, I don't like heights either! Glad to see you're still in Chicago, Hope you're enjoying you're time here! Love your videos!
I hope you guys have been able to take the architectural boat tour while in town! Thanks again for the wonderful video (in my hometown). Stay warm!
Relatives of mine went on it several months ago when we all visited for a family wedding. I wish I'd gone on it, but I wanted to sleep in!
Rest in Heavenly Peace Heather O'Rourke. Gone too soon. You'll never be forgotten. 😇😞🌹💔🙏
Great job!!! Now for part 1 and 2 it’s been awhile since I seen a part 1 n 2 update but was great seeing part 3 locations!
Great informative video ☺️ I am afraid of heights. I wouldn't have gone up to the observation tower 🗼
omg imagine living there while their filming and seeing all the actors from Polteist 3 that would be a blast
Excellent video! Always loved Poltergeist 3. Saw this and Candyman as a youngster and they both made me scared of mirrors.
I remember the horrible news about Heather O'Rourke "Carol Anne" passing away from septic shock caused by an internal obstruction. It happened less than a year after Poltergeist 3 finished filming. So sad, and tragic. She was only 12 years old.
It all started from contaminated well water at the new family home that her success enabled the family to buy.
I thought she passed before filming was finished? That’s why she wasn’t in the end of the film, only “Caroline” was being held by the uncle without her face showing…
There is some suspicion surrounding the real reason behind her death
@@Iccarus72 Yes, I heard that also.
@@montibella It happened like 7 months after they'd wrapped. The director wasn't satisfied w/ original ending and planned to use Heather and the rest of main cast in reshot ending. Of course that was impossible after her passing, so they used a double whose face isn't visible.
Hey you two, I'm from Boston, Massachusetts and we have a more well known Hancock Tower in the heart of our city. It's made entirely of large glass panels that reflect the other buildings around it including the Trinity church which is right by the base of the structure. Back when it was first built, the panes were falling out due to design flaws in the construction and was causing dangers to everything below which caused them to totally replace every single pane (there are over 10,000 of them) in order to make the building safer. If you ever come up here to film anything, check it out.
You guys loving my old hometown I told you minus the snow and Chicago is your kinda town for great food spooky stories and the best people , happy Hallowseve.
The pool on 44 floor plays a pretty good part. The parking garage is just too busy to film in JHC.
I used to work there and had a parking space on one of the upper levels of the garage. The old address of the building used to be 666. They have a large amount of spiders that hang out on the top floors outdoor windows, spooky.
Also a strange number of deaths in the building. An actress broke out one of the upper windows and made a jump around late 1970s.
I love you guys for doing this, I have never seen these filming locations before. Love and thanks from Manchester, UK.
I’d absolutely love to see you guys cover the Heather O,Rourke story in more detail ❤
It will happen.
Don't forget to add what allegedly happened on the Jeopardy! game show stage.
@@baberebellion9531 yeah that was a bunch of BS tho
@@superduperwillsaxby What happened?
@@Mrd9960 lots of different theories, most are BS.. she basically died as a result of incompetence
I love you guys...so many details in every videos. Thank u!
Hi folks !!
I have enjoyed horror films from a fairly young age and today is no different.
What a fantastic channel this is especially for people like myself who can see all the such amazing locations you both go to and I thank you for all your efforts and I can imagine a lot of travelling to many different locations must be tiring to say the least ,but at the same time we’ll worth it.
I can’t stress enough what a great channel this is and certainly recommend people to take the time to view especially if you’re into movies.
Take care folks regards paul 😊
Water Tower used to have the best place to eat. Food Life. They removed when Covid hit, but I used to go there all the time for lunch.
Really cool seeing that many of the things are still there in Chicago! That parking garage creeps me out for some reason!! So isolated!! 🎃👍🙏🏽☠️
The Hancock Building will always be, to me, the death location of Chris Farley. The observation deck is cool there...but...I hope you had a chance to visit the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower) Skydeck as well. It has a glass ledge that you can walk out on and see the streets beneath your feet! It's absolutely terrifying.
I loved this! I lived in Chicago and worked at Northwestern memorial Hospital during this time… There was also a movie with Jackie Gleason that had a scene in front of one of the Northwestern hospital pavillions
Something just occurred to me-- the Speak-and-Spell mentioning a parakeet seemed like an intentional reference to Tweety dying in Poltergeist. And maybe some foreshadowing. Almost like the screenwriter said, "Let's drop this into the story, see how many people are actually paying attention." 😀
Fantastic work as always not seen anyone cover this and you guys have smashed it.
This one brings back alot of memories. Good job 👏.
Omg guys this one made my skin tingle. Part of my childhood this 3 part movie. Seen the new version, not a fan. Someone should spray paint a round black circle in that car park in honour of Heather. Luv ya work. Peace n luv 2 everyone, from the land down under x
I really enjoy the history you teach man , keep it up . I sit back late night with my wife and trip off the places u go and all the history you know . Two thumbs up Ese.
My city is beautiful. And I love this movie. The Poltergeist movies are a classic…
Poltergeist 3 feels more it was set in the 21st century! If u guys are still in Chicago, can u do original Candyman and Blues Brothers locations!🙂
You know that the puddle scene when the hands come out is filmed at a studio. The place in the garage was almost at the first pole by the fan box against the wall and nearer to the cut in the concrete.
Beautiful angel 🙏 left us way way too young 😪🕯️rip Heather 😔 Your videos are so cool i like how happy u both always seem plus your always very respectful to to the dearly departed this is why your channel is a cut above other channels thank u stay safe in all endevers 🙏✌️ cheers stevo 🍀🍀🍀🍀
Wow... I have been to this building and on the deck and did not know this movie was filmed here. Cool!!!
Again a great video. You even find the smallest details, which is quite impressive.
Greetings from Berlin, Germany, Michael and Jessica. :)
When I think of old Chicago I think of legends like Chris farley, John Candy, Steve Martin...ptaa beginning of movie, Chicago/CTA the band/original lineup with Terry Kath, the bears, the saturday night skits with ditka, and it reminds me of my old neighborhood in Philadelphia. Too close knit cities. Now, I get sad when I see it and the condition. Right outside of the Hancock center and financial district, it gets real, really fast. Same with Philadelphia. There's a plethora of reasons, however, this is not the channel for that discussion. Awesome video and thanks for letting me get a glimpse again! Be safe out there.
Love all the Chicago stuff after your days of dead appearance ! Thanks Michael n Jessica
Steven King, Freddy Kruger, Michele Myers, had nothing on this Poltergeist Trilogy. These movies caused all sorts of trauma, I still get the chills watching these clips. You can't tell me about one movie that went to this level of scary, every horror movie I feel is rated G compared to these.
My hometown!! Just went for dinner there last week! Always loved seeing the Poltergeist series with the Water Tower which has looked the same for 40 years LOL
i loved this! now i want to watch the 3 movies again. so long since i have seen them. thank you both
Always loved this movie because it was so weird and futuristic at the time. Very interesting to see that in 35 years very little of the scenery has changed. Every angle of nearly every scene redone here amazing! Would have been a blast to stand in that exact spot Heather stood in at the parking garage.
I bet not many of you know that there was a video game loosely based on this film, it had mirrors, elevators, cars coming to life and an old corpse somewhat resembling Rev Kane.
Another great Grimm life collective episode awesome documentation of filming locations🔥🔥👍🏻👍🏻👻👻
I hope everyone has a wonderful day and takes all that life has to offer Merry Christmas 🎄
Beautiful shots. So sad the tragedies that occurred to those cast members. Awesome video!✌️
What a cool idea for content on this channel. I just found you and I am already obsessed!
Excellent research..!! Fascinating to see these locations..! Good work. 👍
Thank's y'all for posting awesome video 's . I enjoy watching and learning new things along the way.
Poltergeist III. A underrated movie. It is sad about Heather O'Rourke. Her life just starting. Was the poltergeist movies cursed? I don't know? I'm upon to the idea. The director said. Heather wanted to be a director. That she was a sweetheart. Michael and Jessica. Thank you for everything you do.
Loving these videos the way you describe and show from then to now of how things are is what also makes your content so great that and the fact the pair of you are just so down to earth and awesome
Can't believe I do not remember ever seeing this film. Meticulous work on the shot set up, all while showing off one of the most beautiful downtowns on the planet. And I mean planet. Ho yeah, and that lake does feel like an ocean, heck , it i an ocean, a freshwater ocean.
Kudos to you and baby Ghoul this is one of my favorites so far. Great Job keep the videos coming yall do absolutely great at making these videos I love watching them and love the intro music.
My older sister and I went and saw part 3 together. I was a senior in high school. It was so sad. It felt like we were invading the privacy of the dead. Little Heather looked pitiful.
