I think this is OFFICIALLY my FAVOURITE Grimm life video!! Hubby and I danced to the Time Warp at our wedding, & we’ve seen it at least a hundred times or more, and now we’ve passed on the love for it to our young adult kids! It’s legendary!
I went to see RHPC at the drive in last year, and with Meatloaf being gone and Tim Curry in his condition after a stroke I got really emotional and really excited at the same time and that was the single best experience I had at a drive in movie. Thanks you guys for bringing us this footage.
I've seen Michael get really excited about a lot of spooky locations, but this is the first time I've seen him get so giddy, he actually giggles! Jessica, of course, is adorable as always! Thank you for sharing this adventure - I ADORE Rocky Horror! (As a ginger with sometimes frizzy hair, I usually dressed as Magenta).
Michaels excitement in this video is absolutely adorable. He reminds me of a little kid on Christmas Day. Thanks for another awesome look into the grim life❤!!
As an American living abroad for nearly 30 years, I can attest to this. Lots of totally amazing places in the UK (and elsewhere). Wanderlust, everyone!!
RHPS holds a special place in my heart. My husband of 28 years and I met at the RHPS in Berkeley, CA. In fact, we got married on the final night that cast performed. We played as Ralph and Betty that night on stage. 🤣 This is vey special. Thank you.
Congratulations! I was there that night, such a great show. I was no longer working the show at the time so I was waiting in line to get in. When Curtis showed up he saw me and brought me in the side entrance with him. So many great memories of that cast!
Another masterpiece guys!! First saw this movie in Austin, TX in 1975. I wouldn't want to guess how many times I have seen it since. This video is a real treat. Thanks!!
Oh my word…thank you so much caltx01. Seriously. We are very happy we can bring some memories and take you on another journey at the same time. Happy Halloween 🎃

Rocky Horror is a MAJOR part of my life. I met Barry last year at a convention and i literally had snot running down my face from being so excited to meet him, just crying ny eyes out. Hes very tall in person i never would have expected that. He is such a kind old man. When i asked him questions about Rocky Horror, he kinda seemed like he forgot about a lot of it but only really remembers that the working conditions were terrible -- NO AC. and also, he found out about 10 years ago Susan Serrandon was paid 5,000 more than he was and hes still peeved about it LOL
That is incredible. I'm listening the soundtrack and had to yell out "So does Brad!" right as I was reading your comment because it was in that place in the lyrics - I'm not kidding. 😄
@websurfer5772 LMAO! Dude he's so kind. I cried literally on his shirt when he pulled me in for a hug and gave me a free selfie with him. Dude it was legit. @@taylorm7777 Right on! Did you see him on TV showing a house he lived in that was haunted after he did the show? It was haunting his dresser. I had a haunted dresser when I was little. Weird, huh? Thank you both for this one. This place is beautiful so glad they salvaged it. A gorgeous place to stay! This movie was major in my teen years. Everyone went to see it and did the time warp they showed the film and had actors in person playing the main parts. It was epic!
It has been a mind warp having your RUclips channel come up on my feed yesterday. This takes me back to my party days and nights in Seattle in the 70's. When I played Riff-Raff, other than performing Time Warp, his opening lyric from "Over At The Frankenstein Place" delivered from the upstairs window of Oakley Court was ABSOLUTELY my FAVORITE part of playing the role. It made me feel ICONIC performing it each night. ❤🖤
You guys are so lucky to have stayed here! One of the best movies ever 🖤 I saw it over 100 times at a theater in Whitehall, PA (still have most of my stubs) & got to see the play at the Piccadilly Theater in London decades ago. This was absolutely fantastic. The Rocky is one of my all time favorite movies / musicals. I attended live when I lived in Sonora,California. I would go to the Columbia community college back in 94? 95? and then in Franklin, Tennessee back in the day at Franklin theater.. 1998? I love seeing how much other people love the Rocky. I share it with people who mean a lot to me. This was fantastic. I needed this to day

Great video, I stayed there a few years ago with my wife, we loved the Rocky Horror connection too, sadly since then my wife passed away from Leukaemia at age 35, so it was bittersweet to watch your video but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing you both enjoy being there! Good to have you here, looking forward to seeing your next Grimm Life adventure.
Twelve O'Clock am every Saturday night down at a mall called "The City" in Orange County, California we stood in line to see this show. I can't count how many times we saw this movie. While the movie played other kids did the scenes in front of the screen. Everyone brought in toast to throw right at the right time. So much fun. Loved Tim Curry. Thank you for sharing this video. Loved it.
I was the understudy for Columbia in Denver for the live part of the show. Those were some of the best times of my life. I was in my 20's and hanging out with my college theater friends. I got to play the part 12 times! I love your videos!
Mind blown to pieces, didn't know most of the scenes were done in the actual castle so cool. Luv RHPS and Shock Treatment and ty Richerad O'Brien for making awesome catchy songs

OMG! It brought back so many wonderful memories. Back in the 1970s I go to the 8th Street Playhouse in the village with my boyfriend. Every Friday and Saturday night. We bring our essentials. Toy guns, newspaper and toilet paper. Sometimes we sit in the back row. We were 21 years old and having a blast. So nice to be young again while watching you guys go to my favorite castle!! This was EPIC!!
Rocky Horror was my favorite movie since I was 16 and I've been to ever single Rocky Horror event every Halloween since. Seeing the actual Castle is such a feast for the eyes and I could imagine what it felt like to shoot this cult classic at this place. Imagine if Rocky Horror fans did the cult film movie showing at the actual castle!!
Brit here, so happy you visited our little (wet) green island. If you've never been to an interactive performance of rocky horror, you haven't lived. One of the best movies ever made. Funnily enough, I've never thought of visiting here. It's now on my bucket list. (I have a recurring burn from our towel warmer).
Seeing you guys do the Time Warp dance was the best part! 👯That was a beautiful castle! Loved that you guys stayed and shared with us the inside. Thanx, as always, for another great vid! Stay safe. Happy Halloween! Peace.
Man I'm 60 years old anomaly X I seen Rocky Horror I love it and I still watch Rocky Horror used to go to Manhattan in the village at the 8th Street Playhouse they had the performances it was pretty cool do I start getting rained on when Janet was walking in the rain then when I said Dr Scott and toilet paper came flying my way I still got the album of Rocky Horror Picture Show don't have a record player no more but I used to play that a lot I'm glad you two brought the supper with the castle frank-n-furter Tim Curry
Another fantastic vid, guys! I joined in on the "Where?" at 33:07 😄 And it's been beyond cool that that two of you have now walked the grounds of both (Classic) Universal Horror & Hammer Horror! *Signs petition for GLC's future-musical for this*
How weird. I only watched rocky last night! The emotion in your voice. You are great at what you do. Love you guys! And glad you made it here to the U.K. loads of places to visit that have been in some great iconic movies. ❤❤
Ever since you said you were going overseas I had a feeling this video was coming! And it did NOT let me down! Thank you for taking us there and for all the awesome work lining things up. I'll most likely never be able to go to the castle although it's one of my bucket list things. So watching with you two made up for it! Hope the rest of the trip has been great!
So cool you visited these places! I used to frequent the midnight movies. Pink Floyd The Wall and Rocky Horror played every weekend. We would act out Rocky Horror in front of the screen. It was fun. Sometimes there was nobody there but us. We viewed those as rehearsals.
Dynamic tension, now that's hard work. I was in the live cast in Denver for a time and never knew the castle was real, you are the best on showing me more knowledge on things I thought I had an understanding of. Thank you for showing this mind blowing place. Happy Halloween.
Omg!! This is an incredible castle! I loved it! Thanks for always sharing this incredible videos. The scenery it’s really breathtaking. You both go above and beyond to make this amazing videos as always. For some odd reason, I’m so happy for you both to make it to England. It must be a very special treat!! ❤
Back in the early eighties we used to go every weekend to the midnight movies. And of course Rocky Horror was playing. Your excitement is very reminiscent of my youth.😊
yeah, I can Imagine the old church set standing in the distance. That was a good camera angle you gave Michael. I can definitely imagine an empty plot where the church once was built. sadly now it's a patch of dirt. Gone but not forgotten.
Fantastic! I remember being a teen in high school and a local theatre would show RHPS every Friday night. Everyone would dress up as their favorite character and go. Total audience participation made it so damn much fun! This movie was an obsession! My high school pep rally had it for our theme. Was amazing! Tim Curry, I worship you!
Wow what a fantastic experience, thanks for sharing. I saw Richard O'Brien in the stage show in London in 1976 for my birthday! Just loved your room, absolutely stunning. Amazed at how you line up the scenes so well. The heated towel rails by the way are very common in most homes here in England these days. Happy Halloween.
Thanks Michael! I love the Rocky Horror Picture show, and I had no idea it was filmed in England. I have been waiting in anticipation for a new video from the UK. Thanks again.
Love Rocky Horror and Tim Curry, one of my favourite actors. 👄 Didn’t realise that was there, I always assumed it was filmed in the US, so thank you for educating me. 😊 it is funny different things in different countries. Never stopped to think about towel rails, have two in my house, assumed they were universal! Looking forward to see where you are off to next.
When Rocky Horror first came to theaters, my friends and I would dress up and go every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We had so much fun, as did the other hundred teens there. Many years later, when it came on TV one of those friends would call and act out the entire movie for me over the phone. (I wish we had computers back then) Sadly he has passed, but i think of him everytime Rocky Horror pops up. You did a great job on this video - appreciated!
You guys are amazing. I've been a huge Rocky Horror Show fan since I can remember and this video has actually put tears in my eyes. Thank you so much for what you do for the horror genre and of the happiest of Halloween's to you both.
I m super happy that the castle got new life and is in hotel use. I hope that as many historical castles, manors, mansions, palaces will be saved and they would get a new life.
The castle looks beautiful! I’m so happy that I got to meet Tim Curry and he was so sweet. It’s crazy the castle is still there, it looks a same, and nothing has changed. Thank you for sharing this another Grimm Adventure I really enjoyed it. Stay spooky and Happy Halloween.🎃👻💋❤️🖤
Thanks for this great video. RHPS was a huge part of my youth, being shown every Saturday at midnight in my hometown. I've been feeling down of late, and your enthusiasm has really given me a pick me up.
I remember in the 80s going with friends to one of those midnight showings of it with the people in front of the screen who were acting out the scenes and saying the lines, it was kind of a freaky spectacle but I didnt pay attention to the actual movie, I need to watch it sometime so I know what it's about. Great vid, thanks!
Loved this video, thanks!! Glad you loved it. I spent my 30th there(2017) and noticed a few updates since then. I was surprised to hear they didnt have anything up to do with any filming history, as there was a bit of a gallery wall for that when we stayed! There was a clock by the stairs too! (And a suit of armour up where the lift went!)
Beautiful building; I wish more of our old buildings were brought back to life like this one. They're treasures for sure. Can't wait to see where else you visit on your travels here. 😊👻
I am an Oakley...and a huge RHPS fan as well. So when we traveled to England in 2000, we just HAD to go spend a night at Oakley Castle. Yep, it was awesome! I just pulled up my old pics, and it hasn't changed much, but even nicer. Thanks for a wonderful trip down memory lane. You obviously had fun and you did a wonderful video! 👍💯
I love you guys. My 40th birthday was a Rocky Horror party ❤❤❤ Thanks guys my fav of all time. I am so jealous..❤ Bah humbug to Bray studios they don't realise what they missed!
What a beautiful place. I knew the castle was real and dilapidated at the time of filming. I seem to remember no heat, not even working bathrooms. The restoration is remarkable. This is the first time I've seen the inside. Wow! I remember seeing the movie when it first becamse a midnight-movie sensation. It had a profound effect on me. Beyond what I'll say here. Of course I have it streaming. Back in the day I owned the vinyl. "Lots larfs and sex." I just ordered it on red-vinyl, new from Amazon. Thanks for taking me back to those wonderful, carefree days. I'm digging your trip!
Man this is just too amazing for words ! I used to perform Rocky horror with my best buds on Saturdays back east .It was such a blast back then,we had no shame in being naughty and wild ! Glad you guys made it to England! ❤
This is so absolutely wonderful. I had no idea it was an actual place! I am thrilled that it still exists and people can see it and even stay there. It's stunning.
Absolutely loved this movie since I first saw it when I was 10. Loved it so much that when our chocolate lab had her first litter of pups back then most of them got named after the characters. I kept the only black one from the litter and she was named Magenta.
This video is such a gift to RHPS fans!! Michael, as always, your attention to detail in matching up the shots is a labor of love and it was so sweet seeing how excited you were as I know I was watching along!! You guys are the best, thank you so much for giving us this tour! 💜💜

Peace.
I am so glad you have come to England and are enjoying yourselves. You're always welcome here.
Awesome movie! What a beautiful castle. Thanks for sharing as always.
What a FANTASTIC movie pic!!!! Your documentaries are always so amazing. I am so addicted to this channel!!!
Yeah - and we also had _The Man Who Fell To Earth_ with David Bowie (who dated Susan Surandon back in the '80s)
O M G. I would geek out like you.!!! Just fabulous!!! On my bucket list!
Your excitement and sheer giddiness over your adventure makes this already amazing video extra so.
So many Hammer Films made at Oakley Court. Plus TV like The Professionals and Pie In The Sky. Glad it wasn't left to be in ruins.
Dynamic tension, now that's hard work. I was in the live cast in Denver for a time and never knew the castle was real, you are the best on showing me more knowledge on things I thought I had an understanding of. Thank you for showing this mind blowing place. Happy Halloween.
I saw it live in SF in the 80s -- that was fun!
I love The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I have lost count of the number of times that I have seen it. What a cool video!
Best video yet. Well done. Loved it. What a place.
The only musical I love to watch. Like STAR WARS from 1977, it's just so fun to sit through; it's an experience.
I'm glad that place has been preserved.
Thank you two for this! I'm so glad you got to do this...I can tell how excited you were and I don't blame you❣️I rewatch many of your episodes.
This is where I could live forever!!! Rocky Horror is my all time favorite ever!!! Magenta is my spirit person ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Im SO glad you two made it here! You guys don't miss a beat! Thanks so much for sharing this with us,..and Happy Halloween!🎃🍁
A absolutely fantastic view thanks so very much.Mike & Jessica appreciate you & your amazing content immensely! Luv&Peace Sean&family ❤✌🏼💫
Wow! lucky you
Do they burn you if you lean on them?
Thanks Michael! I love the Rocky Horror Picture show, and I had no idea it was filmed in England. I have been waiting in anticipation for a new video from the UK. Thanks again.
I played Riff Raff about 30 times back in 80s. Satellite Twin Theatre Norman,Ok. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
a wonderful video full of enthusiasm and love for the subject matter, complete with narration to make Richard o' Brien proud. great job guys!
The success of your channel is directly linked to your genuine enthusiasm and research! Another great video of a great movie! 😊
I love how your joy shines through! As a fellow RHPS geek, I can't imagine how thrilled I'd be to do what you just did.
& yeah, I just went on a trip through Portugal and Ireland.... every place had a towel warmer. Must be a very European thing.
Dude I’m loving your enthusiasm and utter fandom of of Rocky horror, and the disbelief of actually being there
You guys are amazing.
Stay spooky and Happy Halloween.🎃👻💋❤️🖤
and Richard O’Brien was standing on a narrow ledge in the castle during the filming of the movie and the only way up/down was by a ladder
Just when I think you two can't be anymore Iconic! GOT TO LOVE IT!
Thanks for this great video. RHPS was a huge part of my youth, being shown every Saturday at midnight in my hometown. I've been feeling down of late, and your enthusiasm has really given me a pick me up.
Love you guys, glad you are enjoying our country!💜wherever you go you are amazing!
The teenager in me is freaking out! Totally watched this movie every year at the amphitheater dressed up with a bag of goodies. Oh man the memories.
This is your best episode ever ! Your excitement was so fun to watch.
Enjoy your night say looks like a beautiful castle michael
Never seen you so happy and Jessica is so beautiful and fun! This is brilliant! I have watched rocky horror every year for 25 years. Thanks
StarryTraveler…thank you so much. Really happy you enjoyed the video just as much as we had fun making it.
Absolutely loving your channel. You both present it wonderfully, lots of fun.
Wow - the castle is breathtakingly gorgeous! Had I toured a place like that, I'd be laying on the floor & ppl would be fanning me. ✌✌
💋💋💋💋 Amazing 🎃❤️
I think it is so cute how you geeked out over this! That place is amazing! So cool you got to go to England and go to all of these places!
I’m not going to lie but this was the best video you’ve ever done
The Rocky Horror Show is one of my favourite movies

Thank you Michael & Jessica 🎃💀🎃
I just discovered your channel to get “My Halloween fix” & I’m obsessed. Michael, I love how you educate me & make me feel I’m walking next to you guys as friends. You Both are so Genuine and I love how much you love each other. Thank you for taking us places and setting up a stage of your mind. But most of all taking us places where many of us don’t think of visiting. I Love The Grimm Life Geek Out too❤
