Wow this is an outstanding documentary on a abandoned churches in Chicago all my life I’ve lived in and around Chicagoland and I didn’t know there was that many abandoned churches in Chicago. Also so many sad stories about abuse that went on too long .
what a shame that such beautiful churches and history is left to rot. Just the stained glass windows alone should be used for something cause you don't see that kind of artwork anymore
That’s Saint Martin’s Church that should’ve never been closed, it is a beautiful church and the strain glass windows Very beautiful. What a waste of a beautiful church .
Well done video. I'm originally from Racine, just a few waves away. The church I grew up in is also closed. It's sad too, so many beautiful buildings going downhill. I came across you accidentally. I was hesitant to open up to someone named "ruin road"! But I enjoy "Freakography" all the time, and does he explore some ruins! So I enjoyed this video. I even joined. Thanks. I looks forward to more even though I get a bit bummed at seeing decay of once gorgeous buildings.
At 9:48, after showing former Lutheran church, you showed a different church, the former Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, also on the Westside.
This is a metaphor of our Nation and the world. We are in chaos. Chaos hates beauty and God in any form.
This was really interesting. I love old churches and it is so sad to see so many abandoned.

As a RC, it is sad to see CCs close because of lack of attendance. 😢
There’s a book called the archdiocese of Chicago a journey to faith and it has all the churches and suburb churches in it

Interesting, but typically audio is distorted!
Did you do a video yet on all the abandoned funeral homes in Chicago and cemetery’s ?
Why does the church in the thumbnail remind me of the abandoned church in the saints row 1 video game
On the north side they are atleast transformed into great condos. South side needs to keep them as churches
What’s the address to the last church?:)
How long ago was this filmed?
