Pushing a gravestone over has got to be one of the most disrespectful things i think of. That’s somebody’s family, a mother or father, son or daughter. People are awful .

I went to Bachelor's Grove quite a bit from the early 1970's on up to my last visit around 2000. I met a young man around 1998 or 99 named Pete Capria. He was maybe 18-20. He was saddened that the cemetery had been vandalized and left untouched. It was in very bad shape back then. He started to clean up the cemetery. He would mow the lawn and get rid of the yard waste. He kick started the campaign to revitalize the cemetery which is why it looks so good today. Thanks Pete! You did an amazing job. Back in the 1970's it had a lot more headstones Unfortunately many were knocked over and vandalized. There were close to a dozen graves that had been dug up. Some partially. One thing I can say is it was always a great place as spooky as it was, but I was never disreputable to the cemetery, not my friends. But you would often find idiots who were there to party and toss their garbage everywhere. I have a few scary tales about Bachelor's Grove. There was something going on there that I can't explain. Maybe it's because the dead were upset over the neglect and vandalism that occurred through the decades. As I understand, these days there isn't the same paranormal experience as when I was younger. I think it's because Pete Capria cared and started the renovation and restoration. The souls now rest in a much better place. Foot note: when my mother was very young. 1920's and early 1930's, on occasion her family would picnic there. Back in it's glory day's.
Not every teenager that partied there back in the day, I was one of them, vandalized or trashed the place with garbage. Those kind of people would get chased off by us, if they tried to pull that shit when we were there.
Actually, I am glad that you are not ghost hunters, there are enough channels of screaming people running around with machines flashing red lights and making noise but no actual ghosts. You showcase so many different aspects of the dark and spooky which is appreciated. Bachelor's Grove is a sad case of vandalism, but thanks for showing the abandoned remains of some kind of old utility site.
I grew up in a very old village. As teenagers, we would meet up in the cemetery. Some stones dated back to the late 1700s. Not once did it crossed our minds to vandalize any stone. You wouldn’t even lean on one. It was just bad karma. It was understood that you respected them, and they’ll do the same.
Me and my friends back in my teenage years we would always walk in this same cemetery and we would not even litter we were very careful because ...well we were afraid of the dead! and we were also good teenagers! lol! but yeah who would vandalize a stone.
I think that’s the mindset of anyone who goes into cemeteries for fun and to see the oldest things in your local area. And I don’t care what decade it is 1950s to 2020s there will always be a minority of assholes who vandalize graves. Thankfully there are groups out there who go out and fix and preserve the vandalized graves

I was walking past a cemetery at around 3am the other night. There were a few girls walking too, and when they saw me they ran over and said, "this area is so creepy, so, can we walk with you? We're scared". I replied, "I know exactly what you mean - when I would walk past here when I was alive I was scared too".

This may sound dumb or weird, but I think it’s very cool that you guys have visited two haunted locations in my old stomping ground in Illinois. Resurrection and Bachelors Grove are spooky, and both are great places for obtaining EVPs and creepy pics etc. THANK YOU for posting these videos. Nice. I live about 5 mins from there. Haven't been back there in a LONG time, but man it looks like they cleared everything all up. The fallen trees are gone, the fence gate is gone, everything against the gate is cleaned up. It was a mess of a jungle last time I was in there. The road by the pond was used by Capone's guys to drop bodies over the edge into the water. As far as I've known, there haven't been any mausoleums back there.

We partied there in the '70's. The big thing/dare was to walk down that road you are on right now at midnight, touch the picnic bench at the end of that road and then run your ass out of there! We were in our mid to late teens at the time and usually a little high and this was rush! We would take bats and knives with us. One time we went down that road and there was what looked like a BURNT DOG CARCASS HANGING FROM A TREE BRANCH! We ran so fast one kid almost stab another kid by accident!
I’m so glad Jessica didn’t go down there by herself. I was getting Dean Koontz Hideaway creepy feelings from that place. Thank you guys for another awesome video. You two are the best!!
Usually I get to see my great grandmother’s second husbands headstone in Bachelors Grove videos. His name is Alva O Foskett. My grandparents used to visit his grave regularly until they were no longer able to get back in there. I plan to visit next time I’m in the area.
Alot of headstones were thrown into the pond. I found a couple and we layed them back up in the cemetery. Obviously didn't know there exact spots but atleast there back in the cemetery.
There is at least one headstone there from 1989. Did a Christmas day pilgrimage there in 2019. That road you two walked in on closed in 1969, I think. Next time you're out this way, might want to try Raceway Woods on Rt 31.
That was a really fun video. I never heard of the story about this old cemetery. Jessica is a brave lady going down that first entrance sighting. Love the things y'all do to keep us on the edge of our seats. Hugs🥰🎃
Michael, Jessica, you are so blessed to be able to visit these places and not just explore but, give us the history behind the adventures. Very awe inspiring and sometimes tragic history, that does justice for who lived then, and may be there still. Like "Ressurection Mary", your detail to detail makes these Adventures more special each time. Can't even say thank you enough, but very proud and blessed to be a part of a great Grimm Life Family. Until next time, now and forever, Happy Halloween to you🎃💀👻
4:46 and 5:41 The 'cross-hatching' on that tombstone looks like a photo match-up to the blurry-yet-distinct texture of the stone the 'madonna' is seated on. 🤔 6:13 Yes, exactly--you called it! 👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🥳🥳🥳👻👻👻 6:51 VERY COOL lined-up shot--you can even see the marker with the rounded edges in the background of the ghost video, clearly seen in your match-up. Love this, Michael and Jessica!
The woods they are in used to have a small town in it. The town moved a few miles down to the south west and established itself there. There's still foundations and cisterns in those woods. It's definitely an odd stretch of woods that grows pretty dense in the summer.
I just now remembered the cemetery across from some property my dad's family used to own in the woods, long ago when I was a kid. This video just triggered it, and I had forgotten about it.
If I was still in the area I would’ve brought my ghost box with me. Every time I visited this place I got a feeling of being watched while being alone.
It’s interesting when you continue back into the woods! The person that upkept the property gave us a tour, he said they were foundations from little round houses of farmers that used to live back there a long time ago, there’s also remnants of an old road back there.
I was born in raised on the south side of Chicago in the 70s my friends and I use to go and party there and some people were so disrespectful to the cemetery and people buried there but the city put cement barriers up in the 80s so cars can't get back no more, the cemetery looks nice and clean now, thank you for filming there, R.I.P. to the people who is bury there.
Love your videos. I 💯 agree once you have been seen ghosts your whole life or have had spooky encounters. Pictures of orbs are nothing. You and Jessica are so cute together. Always entertaining and informing.
Very cool video. Been to Bachelors Grove a few times but Star Grove Cemetery is by far the creepiest Cemetery I have been in. I am not sure of any ghosts or anything at this Cemetery but it is not visited very often and not many stories out there about it but it is very neglected and has a very creepy vibe. The Cemetery does have a pretty cool history, which is why I went out to it to film there.
Grew up just a mile or two from there. Been may times. It’s creepy out there. I remember a friend of mine when we were kids was out in that foresrt preserve with a Boy Scout troop and they said they saw the house. A ghost house and it was upside down.
When my Dad took a picture of his Uncle's tomb stone at his funeral there was a big golden orb by his tomb stone. That was in 1998 so he didn't know until he got the film developed. It would have been something to witness in real time.
Wonder if that bunker was part of the Nike-Zeus defence system. They were built around major urban areas back in the 50s. Each city has a number of them. All abandoned now. Found one near Pittsburgh a few years ago. Love your work. Thanks!
I really diG hearing about Ghost lore stories on Bachelor Grove Cemetery. So glad you GriMMs decided to have an episode look-see at it (I can feel the MyStery!)... I love this! You do such amazing research and add the pieces of footage in between. It sure does add to the whole experience and makes the story easier to understand and follow. Thanks for all you do from the bottom of my "haunted" heart.
In the mid-1970's I went there, and wandered off from everyone else. A few times I nearly fell into open graves (the grass was tall, and you couldn't see the hole), a few of which had exposed caskets in them. I saw a tree stump in the middle of a clearing, and sat down to take a rest there. I looked at the trees that surrounded the clearing to see upside-down crosses burned n them, and then noticed I was in the center of a pentagram, also burned into the ground and partially covered by fallen leaves. Anyway, I started to walk back to find the group when in another part of the woods I saw an old white farmhouse that appeared to be abandoned... When I met up with my friends again I brought them over to where I had seen the farmhouse, but it wasn't there. Anyway, around 10 years ago a friend of mine went to BG and captured some 'interesting' pictures from there that clearly captured full-bodied apparitions - one was a male, and the other was a female, very similar to that 'famous' pic of the woman sitting...

Hi, love your channel - thank you for all the great content!! Your videos always look and sound so good. You've probably got this posted somewhere already but I can't find it... can you please do a brief camera/gear rundown? Thanks so much!
I've been there before! Awesome and unique place. The pond was once used for swimming back in the late 1800s and the cemetery was also a park for the family's that settled there. Where Jessica was standing by the dried up river bed was a bridge at one point. My brother inlaw took photos of me standing in the cemetery at dark and he captured orbs all over the darn place in the photo. Also, there is a clearing in the wooded area where in the 70s satanic rituals took place. Thats where also alot of the homes once stood. God bless you guys! Stay safe out there.
I've never seen a Ghost, Big Foot or a UFO. It makes me a sceptic and even if I did see any of these things I'm not sure I'd ever tell anyone. Fun video thanks.

That old blacktop road that goes past the cemetery is the old midlothian turnpike Rd.. As you follow that road towards Ridgeland Avenue, there's trees that are growing through the blacktop. There was remnants of a house on the northside of the blacktop road towards the Ridgeland Avenue side of the cemetery .

Thanks!
This place has been on my bucket list for like 20 years now! Thank you!! ❤
this has been one of my favorite documentry of all the ones i have seen keep up the good work
I’m so glad Jessica didn’t go down there by herself. I was getting Dean Koontz Hideaway creepy feelings from that place. Thank you guys for another awesome video. You two are the best!!
You guys should do a paranormal video about what you experienced. I would love to hear those stories.
Tried to get in there about 30 years ago the place was fenced off with no trespassing signs
There is at least one headstone there from 1989. Did a Christmas day pilgrimage there in 2019. That road you two walked in on closed in 1969, I think. Next time you're out this way, might want to try Raceway Woods on Rt 31.
I went up here a few years ago and the cemetery has a creepy vibe. So glad it's not been destroyed over the years with how easily accessible it is.
Glad you're referrencing the apparition sitting on the tomb. A lot of investigators don't even mention this ghost anymore.
That has been debunked and is a fake.
That was a really fun video. I never heard of the story about this old cemetery. Jessica is a brave lady going down that first entrance sighting. Love the things y'all do to keep us on the edge of our seats. Hugs🥰🎃
U guys finally made it there! Awesome!
Until next time, now and forever, Happy Halloween to you🎃💀👻
A friend of mine found an old well in the vicinity. Lends credibility to tales of an old house at least.
Town still marked on maps as Goesselville(sp?) Also a nearby subdivision by the same name.
I just now remembered the cemetery across from some property my dad's family used to own in the woods, long ago when I was a kid. This video just triggered it, and I had forgotten about it.
I have family in Mount Dora...I often wondered if any of it was haunted because it gave off a certain vibe.
If I was still in the area I would’ve brought my ghost box with me. Every time I visited this place I got a feeling of being watched while being alone.
Exactly!!
It’s interesting when you continue back into the woods! The person that upkept the property gave us a tour, he said they were foundations from little round houses of farmers that used to live back there a long time ago, there’s also remnants of an old road back there.
I can feel the spirits through the screen! Ancient spirits✨
I went there several times but that was 40 years ago and things have changed.
The last time I was there is was eerily quiet.
The “Madonna” ghost photo is amazing, one of my favorite ghost photos, I’m friends w the lady who took the picture
The road - path that goes to and past the cemetery at one time did go to Ridgeland Avenue.
That road was closed and bypassed many years ago.
I truly enjoyed this video alot! Very strange place but ultra cool! Thanks Michael and Jess!!
Thanks guys. That was excellent. Never heard of it an grew up 20 minutes away.
Love The News story! So sad the Vandalism!💔
♥️♥️♥️
Oh dang! That’s where we parked to go to the cemetery! I wish I’d known about the bunker!
Love your videos. I 💯 agree once you have been seen ghosts your whole life or have had spooky encounters. Pictures of orbs are nothing. You and Jessica are so cute together. Always entertaining and informing.
THANKS for the brief history very much appreciated ... and your a true Gentleman , Michael not letting Jessica go in that place all on her own
Very cool video.
I love it when you guys do videos like this! Keep it up!
This was a awesome view! Much appreciated Mike & Jessica Luv&Peace!🙂✌🏼
A beautiful cemetery, as small as it is, and I hope that more care is taken for it--- hate toppled stones... Thanks, Grimms for taking us along, and Chicago is the place to be for old American lore.... :^)""""""""
I had absolutely NO IDEA about the bunker! You have just given us something to do when the weather breaks around here!!
Thank you!
Just not long ago you hit 100k. One year from now you should be at 1/2 million. Great bloggers like you two and your devotion to your fans makes many of your fans have a smile 😃 😊 😀 😄 to start our day.
Thank you from Gwynn and James Spokane Washington
Thank you so much for your kind words
You two are so fortunate to be able to do what you do for a living. I know you love it and you both deserve it. I have so much fun watching you.
Ive heard a ghost moaning before and that was years ago. Thats a sound that Ill never forget and till this day it gives me chills thinking about it.
I’m so glad you came to our Beautiful Chicago. I hope you enjoyed your visit please come back soon!😊
michael- you have the best voice to be a yt host!!! love your cemetery tours! it is so sad when people desecrate the graves!!! did you take the wheelchair?? i think i may have! 🖤🖤🖤
There's a voice at 20:55, that says Let It go.. Very clear
Nice seeing you two coming out to my neck of the woods!
1:36 The scariest part of this video? 1980s fashion (shudders)...😮😮😲😲😣😣
I wish I could just hang out with you both and stay up late sharing stories and listening to Bauhaus and Cramps music. If you ever tour sites in Colorado...
Another Awesome Cemetery Video of your Travels 👏🏻 you and Jessica are Awesome 👍🏻 Grimm-Life Collective will Always be my Favorite Channel! 👏🏻👍🏻
Yay!!! You've gone there. Kinda crazy isn't it?? Thank you for doing coverage of it. 😁🙏🏻
I love this! You do such amazing research and add the pieces of footage in between. It sure does add to the whole experience and makes the story easier to understand and follow. Thanks for all you do from the bottom of my "haunted" heart.
Thanks so much for taking me all of us on your travels
I would love to see a video of just you guys talking about your ghost stories from the past.
Another lovely day for a Grimm adventure 🖤💚 Love Jessica’s hooded Sherpa lined cloak it looks sooo cozy. Happy Halloween!!
I call it the batcoat 🦇
Glad you guys made it there! I work for the cook county forest preserves in the area and go there regularly. Very cool place
I'm so glad I checked out that band, I love them!
A beautifully shot grimm Sunday episode from my fav hollywood cpl.. watching it now.. thanks guys and happy Halloween🎃
I went there today. I was by myself and it was very eerie.
It is so much different with all the greenery. It seems alive. No Pun intended
Absolutely love that you guys are in my neck of the woods no matter how cold it gets!
Thank You for being MY FAVORITE HISTORIANS, it's a TREAT to watch YOUR VIDEOS!!! HAPPY HOLIDAY'S and of course HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
Hello Michael and Jessica hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving !! You guys are awesome and love how you document all the places you guys visit but you don't go overboard, you truly make every document much more interesting than most people and then the music in the background is the icing on the cake which is epic . You and Jessica are truly the officiatos of documentaries!👍👍😎😎 So with that being said be safe don't forget to check for ticks and as always Happy Halloween 🎃❤️
I've always thought of this channel as history and pop culture. While I do enjoy a good ghost story, I really enjoy the historical content you share. And I appreciate how respectful you are with your presentations.
Thank you so much Carol
This has to be one of the spookiest videos I've seen of yours yet. The atmosphere you captured is perfect. Now one of my favourites 🤘
I've never seen a Ghost, Big Foot or a UFO. It makes me a sceptic and even if I did see any of these things I'm not sure I'd ever tell anyone. Fun video thanks.
Thank you for that nice slice of warmed over Velveeta cheese at the beginning guys! Lol. Just when I think that the 80s were the coolest decade ever, I get hit over the head by a news clip like that!!!! Lolololol
Well done!! Use to live about 5 miles from Bachelor's Grove and Resurrection cemetery so both of these videos were a pleasure to watch!! I never knew about the bunker..... guess I will have to go back lol
