I met Vincent Price when I was 12 around 1969 at the local Sears store. He was opening an art show. I followed him around all night. He was extremely nice to me. I asked him to sign about 10 cards that they gave out at this show. He asked if I was going to sell them. I said no, I was going to give them to my friends. He said “ in that case I will sign all you want”! He was super nice to this star struck little kid!
That's an amazing story and a treasure to have experienced. It's always nice to have confirmation that your heros are just as wonderful as you believe them to be. He seemed like such a kind hearted, humble man ---- that only amplifies his genuine talent.
The lady buried next to Vincent Price mother is his grandmother, Harriet. Vincent's mother was a Cobb. Thank you for sharing a little bit of his life with us. Happy Halloween 🎃🧡
I met Vincent Price once when he was on a lecture tour, right after he did the Thriller video. I was twelve years old. After the lecture, me and my dad waited around the backstage door, next to his limo, until he eventually came out. There were a few other people who were waiting there with us. He was very tall and regal looking and had on a big, black coat (he looked like he’d just stepped out of one of his films). He walked up to me first and we spoke for a moment. What a gracious, remarkable gentleman he was. A legend…there’s just no one around like that anymore.
What a great experience!!!! Very lucky to have met him! ♥ I was far too young [He passed when I was in the 3rd grade.] Thank you for sharing your experience.
I actually MET Vincent in the mid-80's at a "Cousin's Subs" Commercial shoot in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I was and always WILL BE a HUGE Fan! I didn't just get to meet him and shake his hand... he invited me to sit down and talk and we talked about his movies and cooking and art and I asked him to sign my copy of his cook book "Cooking Price-Wise". He was just... BEYOND COOL! I got the chance to tell him that One of my ALL TIME FAV Movies of his is and always will be, "The Last Man on Earth" which was the ORIGINAL "Zombie/Living Dead" movie that begat ALL of the OTHERS to come after! He Gave us SO MUCH! The night he passed... I actually had a dream about him that I was sitting and talking to him. I didn't know he had passed until that VERY Moring, when I was at my job at the time... and on the radio they announced that he had passed! And I KNEW why I had that dream about him! His movies and characters will ALWAYS be an inspiration to me!
I'm the GM at what was once the national candy factory, we have a ton of things still left in the building that will remind you of times passed . The front entrance, the broilers , lots of little tid bits . And customers that come in daily to tell their stories and keep the memories a live . I walk the halls 6 days a week . The legacy will live on forever .
My Mom and Dad met Vincent Price in London back in the early 70s, he was putting his wife into a taxi. He signed an old opera ticket for them, Mom said he was very kind, and gracious. Mom also met Chrstopher Lee a few times at fan conventions in the 70s, he signed the novel Dracula for her, The Man With The Golden Gun, and numerous photographs. Old school actors were always happy to meet their fans back then.
The clip you showed in the beginning was absolutely adorable Price and Karloff singing. Thank you so much for that. In fact, thank you for everything! Love from Minneapolis edit: You could not have picked a better day to film for Price, Dark and gloomy. It worked out in your favor!
Hello from a fellow Minnesotan...I'm from Anoka and recently emailed grimmlife about Anoka being the Halloween Capital of the World after seeing their video about the town in Kansas being the birthplace of Halloween celebrations...I soo think they should come to Anoka at Halloween or anytime in the fall to do a video...back me up on this???
You wondered if the family in the Price house were aware of its legacy. They were. In the mid 90s, I went to hear his daughter speak at a bookstore just a few miles west of the house. She said she visited the house for the first time in her life earlier that day. She knocked on the door and introduced herself. The owners welcomed her in and gave her a tour. I no longer live in St. Louis. Your video brought back some great memories. Thank you.
I really like Vincent Price's movies, especially those he made with Roger Korman. The fact his family was in the candy business, which I didn't know til now, makes him all the more cool to me, since I have a big sweet tooth! That candy bar looked delicious! The fact that he and Chuck Berry, who helped make rock n' roll music popular, were both from the same city is awesome as well.
I was terrified of Vincent Price as a child, now as an adult I love all of Vincent Prices works. Thanks for this very informative video on a true legend!
I grew up with him, Bela Lugosi, & Boris Karloff. Vincent Price was my favorite! He's who got me into being a spooky person who loves scary spooky movies, love for gothic, and everything Halloween. Thank you for this!!!! Great video . Love you guys!
Love love love Vincent Price! I was the weird little girl that would sit in front if the tv on Saturday afternoon watching old VP. films! His birthday was 2 days before mine. I remember exactly where I was when I found out he passed away.😢 Thanks guys, Happy Halloween!🎃🕷💀🕸🌚👻🌹

Vincent Price was the man, always love his acting and his cool voice. Great video. He will always be a legend. Hope that guy is still doing his thing in the afterlife.
I'm a newspaper editor in southeast Missouri, located about 90 minutes or so from St. Louis. When I was editor of the Mountain Echo in Ironton, Missouri, I learned that Vincent Price's sister had lived in town many years ago. Her house still stands but is now on the property of a bed and breakfast. Knowing the B&B owners, I took a tour of the home and came into possession of a photo of Vincent with his sister and daughter standing outside it. Many of the residents in the Arcadia Valley have fond memories of Vincent and his sister eating at the town cafe in town and patronizing various stores. All have said that Vincent was a perfect gentleman, very down to earth and was always glad to speak to people or sign an autograph for those who asked. I ended up writing a story about Vincent's visits to the area and had the opportunity of speaking several times with his daughter who at that time owned an art gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
You've convinced me to wear my Vincent Price t-shirt and pop in one of his movies tonight! I've loved this man since I was a kid. My dad used to rent old monster movies for me around Halloween (The classics were Ok. Once we got to the bloodier stuff, they didn't take that so well), and "The Fly" was one of my favorites. "Masque Of The Red Death" is my favorite.
Geez, What a sweet guy. Have to say, is there anything more perfect than Vincent Price talking and laughing in Thriller? Genius. Good to see you two. 💝
I met him at IUS were he was giving a talk on horror films and after his talk he seat in the lobby and talk to anyone that wanted to talk and I got to talk to him . he was a very nice man.
I have always adored Vincent Price!! 🖤 Thank you for this great tribute video!! Btw, thanks to the awesome musician playing away in the background. Love it!
The house of WAX, The Last man on earth, Dr. Gold foot, Egg head and Bingbing iron tail. Thank you Vincent for your amazing Art work, also being one of the Original Classic Horror Actors in the business and for being on the Muppet Show when I was a child. Love & much respect Rip good Sri ❤🌹 Ps he was also the narrator in Michael Jackson's Thriller
Excellent video. I live 40 minutes from Lavenham, a gorgeous English village where many scenes from Vincent Price’s Witchfinder General was filmed. Lookup Kentwell Hall also, just down the road from there where they filmed more scenes including the drowning of the witches. If you ever visited England, a trip here is well recommended.
I was lucky enough in the mid-1970's to see a play in Delaware. Vincent Price and Roddy McDowell were the stars! It was a comedy. Can't remember the name of the play these many years later, but seeing them perform "live" was a memory I will never forget! Vincent Price is mainly known for horror, but he was a all-round great actor and performer!
Thank You Michael and Jessica. I was a huge fan of Vincent Price growing up. Some of the characters he played at times scared the willies out of me . I remember listening to Thriller the first time and hearing his voice at the end. Thank you Michael for paying respect to this wonderful actor. - Paul , St Petersburg, Fl
Algorithm brought me here. Scanning through and saw "Price". One of my favorite actors as a kid. Wow. Thanks. My grandmother was going to nursing school in St Louis in the 1920s. Got pictures of her in St. Louis park and else where. Eaglegards...

Vincent Price is my favorite actor of all time. The man was a genius. He's just amazing I'm a huge Scooby Doo fan and I love that he was in the 13 Ghost series. Thank you so much for doing this video. Learned so much about this amazing man
Never seen that singing duet with Price and Karloff---my two favorite horror dudes! Now, That, was an awesome surprise! Thanx a Mil, for showing us Vincent Price's childhood home and where he grew up. You guys did another great job on another great legend of film/horror...Thank you, GrimmLife, for always coming through! Rain or no rain, it was WORTH every minute! Peace and Happy Halloween!
Love Vincent Price. His voice alone brings me back to my early childhood, seems like he was always on tv. Even did an episode of the Brady Bunch! Thank you for this feature.
I've always loved Vincent Price. Grew up watching his movie's and still love watching them today. I never knew there was so much more to him. Thanks for sharing y'all. 😊👍
Love Vincent! When I can't sleep, I turn on his cooking recordings with recipes from around the world, and it lulls me to sleep. Nothing like waking up to Vincent Price telling you how to make guacamole 🙂
Ahhh - it makes me so happy that you two visited all the place you did while you were in St. Louis. It's fun seeing you in my stomping grounds doing your thing. Thanks for all you do.
I think he is wrong about Washington University for 10 buildings were there before Vincent's family built house. Wash U started to be used in 1905. They waited until after the 1904 Olympics and World's Fair. Maybe that building was added later but 103 acres of land owned was owned by Wash U before the 1900s. He made it sound like they built the University after Vincent's family lived on street. A quick Wikipedia search would provide the information.
Vincent Price was a great actor before he turned to horror movies. Karloff and Price are my all-time favorite actors for horror and non-horror. You two did an excellent job with the video.
I realized a few years ago as I was watching the movie the 10 Commandments with Charlton Heston that Vincent Price was one of the Egyptian characters that abused the slave girl that Joshua loved. His voice gave it away first! Great video thanks
I recently watched The Song of Bernadette, and Vincent Price was in the movie. Such a great performance and was opposite of his horror flicks. Props to the musician, total respect for live music
This was absolutely great! I loved Vincent Price!! Especially when he did horror. The opening singing act showed me a side I never saw of him. Thank you!! 😊 He had a one of a kind voice.
Absolutely loved this video. I think this is now my favorite! It was so cool seeing Karloff do his growl and seeing them sing together. I think Vincent Price would have been tickled pink with your video. Thank you for the history!
Vincent Price's, The Last Man on Earth is one of my favorite horror movies. Based on the 1954 novel, "I am Legend," by Richard Matheson. This was the movie/novel that inspired all future zombie films like Night Off the Living Dead. A must watch -- great performance.
I can’t thank you enough for that opening clip. I’ve never seen Boris sing. Vincent Price andRedSkelton are my absolute favorites. Can’t get enough of them. Vincent was the master of the macabre yet a sweet and gentle man.
This is so awesome! Vincent Price is a legend! I also love how unique and elegant his voice is. Always love going on these great adventures with you both! Happy Halloween.
Thank you so much for posting. Vincent Price was such a generous and kind man who was kind to me when I was in high school. He gave me career advice. Many people know him for his campy style of acting, but he also was a great realistic stage actor as well. Much Love and Blessings... Thank you for your hard work! - Guy :-)
What I like about Boris Karloff was the fact he was so decent. Reading a story about him where he had to smash up a laboratory and he had to smash a lot of glass. After the shoot, he got a brush and started cleaning up and a floor manager went up to him explaining a stagehand would clean it up. He said, "I made the mess, I'll clean it up." Not many actors today have so much humility as he did.
I too loved Vincent Price. So many movies and he was excellent in all of them. I was in awe of his voice. Think I read that he was also an artist, but nit positive. Sure wish he was still with us. He was in a class not shared by many. May he rest in peace.
stl native here, across the street from blueberry hill, down two blocks to the right is the moonrise hotel. there’s a bangin ass vincent price suite there done up all great art commemorating vincent and his work.
St Louis is proud of Vincent. I am a Washington University grad btw. The MUNY does broadway musicals at an outdoor amphitheater nowadays, but originally did a broad assortment of shows often with name stars supported by local actors. Vincent was one of them.
There will never be another like Mr. PRICE . Truly a spectacular Artisian of his craft . Thanks for the wonderful vlog. And kudos to you guys for giving the horn player a bit of exposure ☺
I loved Vincent price. My one memory when he did a few episodes on the Brady bunch show ..bc I grew up with Brady bunch show .loved it..... Vincent was so good.....👍
Great video and have loved Vincent forever. Of course who could forget Thriller with Michael Jackson? What a talent! Loved the pit and the ? Sorry can't remember how to spell the name but I loved it. Thanks for sharing his home town.
Vincent's Dr Phibes movies hooked me in as a kid. He was my 'go to' from then on. Love his turn in 'Bloodbath at the House of Death'. Amazing comic timing! Thanks guys. Loving your stuff, so keep it coming!

We worship Vincent Price in our house. Thank you for this 🙏🏻
Vincent was my first introduction to horror along with Edward Gorey.
😊
The first time I saw him it was in The Fall or the House of Usher.
We worship Jesus Christ at ours. But I totally get it. It’s important to believe in something bigger than yourself.
have you seen the Haunted Palace ?
It wouldn’t be a Vincent price day without the rainy dark weather 😁👏🏻👏🏻

Vincent Price was a great actor before he turned to horror movies. Karloff and Price are my all-time favorite actors for horror and non-horror. You two did an excellent job with the video.
I realized a few years ago as I was watching the movie the 10 Commandments with Charlton Heston that Vincent Price was one of the Egyptian characters that abused the slave girl that Joshua loved. His voice gave it away first! Great video thanks
Most Vincent Price fans are unaware of one of his best roles in the movie:The Song of Bernadette.
The Dance Macabre was a nice touch, too! 🖤🥂
I recently watched The Song of Bernadette, and Vincent Price was in the movie. Such a great performance and was opposite of his horror flicks. Props to the musician, total respect for live music
An awesome video for an amazing man Vincent Price we miss you.
This was absolutely great! I loved Vincent Price!! Especially when he did horror. The opening singing act showed me a side I never saw of him. Thank you!! 😊 He had a one of a kind voice.
Wonderful! Perfect Gloomy Day For Vincent!! L💙ve Him Scaring Me!!💙💙💙💙
Absolutely loved this video. I think this is now my favorite! It was so cool seeing Karloff do his growl and seeing them sing together. I think Vincent Price would have been tickled pink with your video. Thank you for the history!
I had no idea he was from st Louis. 51 years old and I still learn something new everyday
Vincent Price's, The Last Man on Earth is one of my favorite horror movies. Based on the 1954 novel, "I am Legend," by Richard Matheson. This was the movie/novel that inspired all future zombie films like Night Off the Living Dead. A must watch -- great performance.
YES!!!!! THAT MOVIE WAS AWSOME!
Thanks for visiting my hometown! Would have loved to see you both in person.
I can’t thank you enough for that opening clip. I’ve never seen Boris sing. Vincent Price andRedSkelton are my absolute favorites. Can’t get enough of them. Vincent was the master of the macabre yet a sweet and gentle man.
Vincent Price Boris Karloff and even Wolfman Jack had that voice you would never forget. I grew up with the best of life with these awesome people
This is so awesome! Vincent Price is a legend! I also love how unique and elegant his voice is. Always love going on these great adventures with you both! Happy Halloween.
I keep meaning to read Victoria Price's book about her father. He had a lot of older brothers and sisters and I always wondered about them.
Thank you so much for posting. Vincent Price was such a generous and kind man who was kind to me when I was in high school. He gave me career advice. Many people know him for his campy style of acting, but he also was a great realistic stage actor as well. Much Love and Blessings... Thank you for your hard work! - Guy :-)
great show about the great man Vincent Price, he was a great cook and a greater human
@@ColeenFogle Strangely enough, I was watching an interview earlier today and he was explaining his voice over from Thriller.
stl native here, across the street from blueberry hill, down two blocks to the right is the moonrise hotel. there’s a bangin ass vincent price suite there done up all great art commemorating vincent and his work.
Vincent price was the god of movies.. he'll be missed!!! RIP vincent
