I had the great pleasure of meeting Phil when I was an extra on News Radio. He was incredibly kind, down to earth, and funny even when the cameras went away. He was a genuine guy whom everyone loved.
The most shocking premature death of any SNL cast member. RIP Phil.
I loved it when Phil Hartman and Sinbad teams up in Houseguest! Their performances had me rolling on the floor...esp when Phil's character says "let's get some chicken!"😂✨🌟⭐
*_He was a highly underrated comedian. His voice was so unique. RIP, Phil._*
He really was. His sense of humor and the characters he played were outrageously funny. I wish he was still around 😔.
Can we please shut up about calling EVERYTHING underrated? When did “underrated” become everybody’s favorite word
He was always a solid player. Showed up, did his job, and nailed it. Not super flashy....but always good.
@@nsasupporter7557 This Video is underrated
@@nsasupporter7557 *Nope. And your comment is highly overrated. LOL Now, please... kindly go **_____** _____.*
I remember when this happened, my husband and I were so shocked and saddened by the news as we are both huge Phil Hartman fans to this day. Thank you for another great video.
Please dont shoot ur husband 🙏
Me also. It was and still is so unreal. ❤😢
Phil's death was so shocking because of how he died. Couldn't believe that his wife murdered him, then took her own life. It was so out of the blue.
My favorite Phil Hartman memories are definitely his years on Saturday Night Live. Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer was great, as was his Bill Clinton impression. Too many funny roles on there to name, but that's what I best remember him from.
Phil Hartman was an absolute comedic genius, Newsradio was one of my absolute favorites.
' Im john johnson but everyone here calls me vicky " brilliant
I was so angry at the selfishness of that woman-talking Phil away from us because she was jealous of his success. Disgusting.
She was a drug user and an alcoholic. He, was a driven man yet...
“Yet each man kills the thing he loves,
By each let this be heard,
Some do it with a bitter look,
Some with a flattering word,
The coward does it with a kiss,
The brave man with a sword!
I think jealousy was definitely part of it. But from what I heard she was also coked up and extremely paranoid.
It had been said that he was wanting a divorce could have also played a part in what she did
@@monalisanail5431 That makes sense. Apparently she was convinced he was having gay affairs with his buddies. Maybe he was hanging with them so much because he was planning on leaving her.
@ct6852 one of my best friends was married to an insane woman that eventually ended up on drugs, and she accused him of the same shit. Even though he rarely left the house, because she was so controlling. Guess she was projecting, bc she was the one doing all the shit she was accusing him of. Eventually she went to jail and they got divorced, thankfully.
She had attempted to kill him multiple times before that, but for some reason, he kept going back to her... insanity
I'm so glad you guys did this video on Phil. I miss his work so much and it was such a tragic ending to such a great entertainer and genuinely nice guy to everyone. Toy Soldiers, Coneheads, News Radio, and so many, many more. I just feel that we were so robbed of his talent. It was well known how unstable his wife was and I never understood why he felt it was ok to buy her a gun (and I say that as an owner of several firearms). It was just a recipe for disaster.
My best friend and I were HUGE Phil Hartman fans. I'll never ever forget this day. Phil was f-king LOVED.
Remember watching the simpsons in the 90s and loving his character so much. He was truly a legend
I was hired to work as an artist on Futurama.
And we knew Phil was going to do the voice Zapp Brannigan.
Then we heard of his death and it hit us hard.
RIP Phil
Domestic violence sucks . D v survivor here .
❤️🕊️
Phil was an amazing talent. Truly huge loss for not only Hollywood, but for generations of fans around the world. As always, you did a fantastic job sharing this very beautiful visit.
Yeah, but the characters he played weren’t likable
I remember when this happened 😢I was very saddened about Phil Hartman. I wonder how his kids are now that they are adults ? WOW ! that reference to Ted Baxter is a deep dive.... How many of you watched the Mary Tyler Moore show?
He played a good part in the christmas film
with Arnold schwarzenegger
in Jingle all the way (1996) .🇬🇧
I remember years ago watching some news program in which they used computer animation to show exactly how Phil had been killed. His wife sat astride him and held the pistol gangster-style. All I can think is, given what a nice and peaceful guy Phil was generally said to be, there must have been something basically wrong with his wife, to do what she did. Being "on drugs" is no reason; most drug users do not commit cold-blooded murder. The blessing is that Phil never knew what happened; he just went to sleep and never woke up.
She definitely had problems before the drugs.... but drugs can magnify those problems exponentially... Ive known a few people that were exactly that crazy (attempted murder crazy) and did my best to keep them out of my life. One was prescribed lithium, and the other refused to see a doctor, but obviously was bipolar or worse...
Thankfully, one of them has been in jail for the last 4 yrs and I blocked the number of the other one about 10 yrs ago.. Hope it stays that way
You telling this story took me back when it actually happened. It's just a sad, sad story.
Phil Hartman's versatility and talent were elite. RIP, sir.
Rest in peace 🕊️ Phil Hartman 😢 thanks for this tribute Mike.😎🙏
I feel so sad for those children 😢
yeah, its sad he did this to his wife despite being rich and famous. let this be a lesson to all guys, always be nice to ur woman and dont neglect her or one day she might do this to u. dont let ur wife become depressed like this, cheer her up.

Another awesome day with the Grimmlife Collective! Loved Phil in Coneheads, one of my all time favorite movies. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing the adventure!
His years on SNL were the absolute best in my opinion. His death was shocking. He is truly missed.
Amazing mix of information Elvira, Pee Wee Herman and Phil Hartman. Oh I so enjoyed this documentary of yours thank you 👍 Beverly Hills California
I will never forget where I was when I first found out about this tragedy. Loved him in Sgt. Bilko. thanks for the video as always, Happy Halloween
Such a sad story and I remember it well. He was a great talent and sadly missed. Thank you for this video. May he rest in peace.
A Fantastic vlog! Appreciate the journey you took us on! What A beautiful tribute To Mr Phil Hartman🙏. Thank's for all you do Mike & Jessica. Luv&Peace 💛✌🏼💫
There are moments that I forget he is no longer here…😢and it feels like I’m getting the tragic news for the first time all over again…He was my favorite!! I always had a bit of a crush on him-he was so charming, loved his voice and he just seemed like he was so fun to be around❤
Another terriffic video knocked out of the park by the awesome Grimmlifecollective. Phil Hartman was a terriffic comedic actor lost too soon. I loved the Wonka reference you added there Michael. Happy Halloween 🎃.
"Don't let your loneliness keep you connected with toxic people. You shouldn't drink poison just because you are thirsty!"
(Text deliberately adapted). RIP a VERY funny man. 🇬🇧🌞🇺🇲
The children were raised their aunt & uncle. Hartman had a will that made sure the kids received money after they both turned 25. ( he ensured his kids would be secure in the event of his passing)RIP & to the kids I'm so sorry for your loss, my nephews & nieces lost their mom & dadina murder suicide in front of me, as well. PTSD is not easy to over come with such loss
I remember this great actor when i started watching American's shows. He was amazing! It was truly sad the way he died 💔
Thank you Michael. Great work as always. My respect to you
I still remember when Phil Hartman died. I was 17, just a few weeks from being 18. I grew up watching from SNL & The Simpsons.
He also voiced Jiji the Cat in the English dub of Kiki's Delivery Service!
Very sad that it went that way for both Phil & Brynn, ❤🙏🏻, I remember watching Phil in the movie “Small Soldiers” in the cinema after the sad news, it was his last movie 😢
You guys are so awesome!
I requested this video with you on messenger. I don't know whether or not you did it because of my request but regardless, it's so great you made it!
R.I.P. Phil Hartman! 😢❤
@official_GrimmIfecollective
Your content is so informative. I have always respected and had a passion for celebrity death but more importantly their life before they died. It's so fascinating to hear the story of what happened to them but you do it in a way that keeps my attention. A lot of others just don't do as good a job as you both do.
The biggest thing to me that sets you both apart from others is you truly respect other people's property and the legacy of the deceased. There's so many video makers that will trespass or not do the story justice and l have to turn the video off but you both do a phenomenal job with preserving and respecting legacies and the stories.
One illuminating vignette was during the Jeffrey Dahmer video, specifically when you accidentally got too close to Jeffrey's grandmother's house. The homeowner came out and scolded you but you handled it gracefully and when you apologized and explained it was a mistake because we don't trespass, that got me hooked on your channel and told me you guys are truly doing this for the right reasons.
Thanks so much for making these videos. I truly enjoy them and wish you both the best in everything you do going forward!
People only see what the entertainers allow them to see on camera. What goes on behind the scenes...... That's why no one should ever feel envious of people with money, it obviously doesnt make them happier.
I was 13 in 1981 when The Pee Wee Herman Show (original stage show) was being shown on HBO which I watched over and over again loving every minute of it and ever since when anyone asks if I’ve washed my hands I throw them out and in my best Capt’n Carl voice shout Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then to almost everyone’s utter bewilderment I sing the song🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Pee Wee Herman Show on HBO is still one of my most quotable TV shows ever 💔 My college roomate and I would quote it constantly!
I was 17 and was roofing when this came over the radio I almost fell off the roof,it was a sad day
I remember that, so sad thank you for sharing Great job
He was definitely a regular in The Simpsons and I remember the day of his death, I still remember the image of the police taken out his two children out that home.
Gone way to soon. He was a comedic genius in my view!
I've seen Jessica get emotional she always respects cemeteries and gives flowers she is a wonderful soul, but this is the first time I've heard your voice crack Michael and tear up... on a good note though Phil Hartman was my favorite in (jingle all the way) r.i.p phil.
I remember this like yesterday. So shocking, and it still is. Captain Carl was my favorite too. I often wonder what Phil could have done if he was still with us. He left us some great memories, that's for sure.
Awesome video Grimms, I remember him acting in the Simpsons and then he was in that Christmas film Jingle All The Way, he was an absolute funny actor 🤗
What about houseguest and small soldiers?
@@BRIANOCONNOR2003 Awh yep I remember watching those films too 😊
@@KeithTheirishdude and did you like them as well
Yep I did mate:)
As a long time viewer of SNL (1977) Phil Hartman and john belushi was the most hilarious, talented on the show,Will Ferrell up there also. His impression of Bill Clinton in the McDonald’s was golden RIP Phil.p.s. I ❤PeeWee
Was recently searching up Phil this past week. Still have a tab on my iPad getting back to it after a few days and look at this, an episode about him and the locations. You're the best 👍
If you haven't heard it, he did a night on Loveline with Adam and Drew around 1997.. It was a pretty good show, and he was hilarious on it
@@jimlthor yes! I heard about that, thanks for reminding me, now gotta dig into that rabbit hole
Amazing video! I loved watching Phil Hartman on the Simpsons. Thank you so much for sharing Michael and Jessica ❤️
That tree in the yard is so cool looking. Very Tim Burton. 😊
Always an enlightened moment to take a trip to Hollywood Forever Cemetery ---- Heart always thumps... The Alumni from the Groundlings troupe, is a tough bunch of comedy hobres--- the love of them, will never be forgotten. Phil Hartman was the man, and I miss him so... Thanks, GriMms for another fine heart felt episode.... :^)"""""""""""
Video idea: Charles Lindbergh. No one seems to have a locations video about the tragedy.
I do know that the backstory of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express was inspired by the Lindbergh tragedy.
Those poor kids, they must have been traumatised for life! 😢 I hope they are ok, whatever they are doing now.
Such a sad story. The fact he stayed, and it cost him his life was horrible. Those poor kids. Great video. ✌️
so talented....and had so much more to give before his life was cut short. Rest in Peace, Phil. Thanks for another awesome job covering this story, Love your channel.
Phil was a very talented actor whose roles will live on! Thanks for the unique, sad, cool tour video with an important message to not ignore red flags in a relationship!
Oh my gosh guys, this is very haunting, informative, and interesting. Thanks for doing this one. Thank Jessica too!!!!
I was shocked waking up to this exact news. I felt so bad for their kiddos. Losing one parent is devastating, losing two unthinkable. They were so young to lose their Dad and Mom. You would have thought that thinking of her kids would have prevented the whole situation. Evidently, she was far more mentally ill than anyone knew. 😢😢😢
Phil Hartmann was the core of that SNL cast in the late 80's, early 90's. Him and Kevin Nealon. The guy was a massive talent.
Thank you for this! Great video.
Thank you for another episode!
I remember when his death was in the news like it was yesterday. I can't believe that restaurant is still opened 😊
Well done! Thank you for doing this video!
Thumbs up for the Batmobile intro music.
I love how you begin your vlogs with, "We find ourselves..." like you just Quantum leaped in lol
Excellent vlog, as always. Phil was one of my favorites. His role in the Brave Little Toaster was fantastic. Rest in peace, Phil. Safe travels.-Joe from Joplin MO

I remember seeing the news and I didn't believe it at first. Hearing the tragic details after was just heartbreaking. Rest easy Phil we will always have your jokes to make us smile😊🙏🏼
Great video, thanks for sharing. He is sorely missed. I was 10 when it happened & remember hearing about it in school. Such a sad situation. I hope his kids grew up okay.
Thank you for this video, he is one of my all time favorite comics, and your videos are always done so respectfully, and perfect timing and length for my lunch breaks at work. Keep on keepin on and stay spooky!
Newsradio was never the same after he passed. He was the heart of the show. Miss you still, Phil
Jambi’s final resting place was amazing! Omg made me tear up 😢I was a huge fan of Pee Wee’s Playhouse
Absolutely love the details and research that gos in to the work you do really is fantastic
Bravo as usual guys! Excellent quality content. Thank you!
Phil Hartmann's death was just so heartbreaking, as we still come across his voice that will pop up now and then.
Looks like a beautiful neighborhood 👍👍 bad stuff can happen anywhere I guess
I just watched House Guest this past weekend. What a coincidence.
Yeah, with Sinbad ❤ love it!
Keep up the great work, Michael. I recall this tragedy very well.
We love you Phil Hartman! Great highlight reel intro! 🤍
Phil Hartman was hysterical! It is a shame what happened to him. May he rest in peace.
A sweet tribute to a funny and talented man. Happy Halloween y'all...
I remember it. I guess his wife was jealous of his celebrity. May he Rest in Peace ❣
Thanks, Michael, for covering this. I had never heard about the murder until now.
Another outstanding video! Thank You.
Phil Hartman will forever be a comedy legend. He was so good at his job as a comedian. My he rest in Peace. 💐

Excellent video, Mike. You are inspiring me to be a better person and to look more positive towards life in general. 🤙
Captain Carl is my favorite Phil Hartman character as well! And my favorite Laurence Fishburne character…Cowboy Curtis!
God this video made my heart sing. Thank you so much for this, it was wonderfully done.
Oh my goodness thank you for the video.
Tragic story Phil was a genius he had many great characters his Bill Clinton was so good
I loved Phil Hartman so much! I am still saddened and shocked that this happened!
Still THEEEE best youtube channel intro music/video sequence there is.
Another cool vid guys
What a terribly tragic end to a life that brought so much joy to so many. Phill helped mold my sense of humor and I always love when some of his old work comes up.
Thanks for the vid Mr Grimm
Man, every time I watch those old Pee Wee shots, my child hood strings are pulled. Not that Pee Wee was for kids, but I was a kid when I watched them. We used to use so many quotes from Pee Wee, especially that "Captain Carl did you wash your hands?"
Appreciate, as always, your efforts to cover this. I still have a bit of shock at his loss and can't believe it. It's somewhat funny that the first clip you included was Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer, because that was easily my favorite of all of his characters - though it's hard to say "favorite" as they were all awesome, really. It's even more so considering the character Zap Brannigan from Futurama was written for him, but was instead voiced by Billy West, who did a great job of trying to sound like Hartman. What a loss and it's such a shame his wife couldn't reconcile her demons. RIP to them both, and thank you again, Michael.
Very sad 😢 On a positive note though, you guys do such a great job producing these videos. Thank you 👏
I live in the small town brynn grew up in, thief river falls, Minnesota. Her parents owned a restaurant in town
Always love your videos, being english i never saw peewee but heard of it, hartman was a gem and as he got older did cameos i believe, he was in jingle all the way with swartzeneggar (probably not spelt right)
Right when i saw the title i burst into tears!!!!! I love him so much amd miss him. 🌹RIP Phil🌹
Fantastic video! This was incredible 😮
I really miss Phil! My favourite character of his was that smarmy Bill McNeil from NewsRadio. I have the entire series on DVD and I still watch it at least once a week. Just can't get enough of him ... he was so damn brilliant, and actually he still is. 💖
Hi Michael and Jessica! I am watching your video right now and I love your videos and channel. You are awesome and amazing. I remember phil hartman portraing bill Clinton on SNL. It is so sad what happened to phil.
