This is an experiment to see if people want more Doo Talkin' to Me! by making it into a regular series of mini vids that are easier to maintain. Hopefully the idea works out for people...
I love this series already
Great idea.
Hey Doc keep up Doo Talkin To Me.
This shit is like CRACK...One hit and you're hooked! Great way to bring these old school episodes into the modern world. These timeless classics deserve this attention. You rock DOC!
I love Scooby-Doo, watchin' this was a pleasant blast from the past
We need more of this doc, I was obsessed with this show as a kid in the 90's when it was on cartoon network all of the time and I've never rewatched it as an adult. I'd even watch you talk about "A pup named scooby doo", which I hesitantly remember being great as well.
@Gary Hall Really? I thought CN has had great incarnations recently.
I haven't personally kept up with the last couple of incarnations. Maybe just because I assumed that anything after Mystery Inc. would be a downgrade by comparison and well... the first show they decided to release after Mystery Inc was Be Cool Scooby-Doo. I think that speaks for itself without need for further comment. Mystery Inc. had a lot of flaws but it was way more ambitious than most other Scooby-Doo media, both in terms of storytelling and in terms of creating a much more cinematic-looking atmosphere with more threatening-looking monsters and more attention to shading, and I have to admire that about it.
@@beautatum6360 I personally thought Mystery Inc. took an unnecessarily dark turn in the finale. It was great up until then. Be cool was great, even if its not my favorite.
The Finale personally didn't do it for me. I don't mind grimdark stuff here or there but it ultimately comes down to the gang using the power of friendship and throwing a magical spear to defeat a big not-very-interesting monster. And I thought this was unimaginative and not worth the buildup. The idea that destroying the monster basically shifted them into a different timeline where the monster never existed in the first place was... interesting although it borders on being a 'and then they woke up from their horrible dream' ending. Retcons most of what we'd seen up to that point in the same kind of way.
I'm not sure how I feel about it. It felt kind of like a copout way of reforming the town from a writer's perspective. The town needed reforming for sure. The writers set that up. But handling it all with this weird magical retcon was a mistake. There had to have been a better way to do it. It almost felt like they were taking notes from the ending of Steven King's It come to think of it. That also had a plot point about how defeating Pennywise caused people's memories to alter on account of the fact that his presence had a psychological influence on the whole town. Had kind of supernatural 'power of friendship' thing too. Even in It, I was never sure about the idea of the memories fading away again at the end. The fact that they changed that in the new movie is actually something I was fine with.
I think it's actually very easy to directly compare Mystery Inc to Gravity Falls. There are many similarities between the two shows, I assume mostly by coincidence (I think they came out just two years apart, but I seriously doubt one was imitating the other consciously). Two-season paranormal mystery show where the main characters investigate strange occurrences in the already-strange tourist town they live in, tangle with incompetent law enforcement and attention-seeking hucksters, deal with episodic problems while also solving an overarching mystery based on clues from an anonymous source that lead to them to shocking revelations about the generation that came before them, deal with a looming eldritch terror who takes over the town near the end and turns the sky red, etc. Both with a similar mix of drama, humor, and child-friendly horror. And I think Gravity Falls ultimately did a better job of concluding its mystery satisfyingly than Mystery Inc did. Which is weird because Mystery Inc technically explained more by the end. It's actually kind of instructive to compare the two from a screenwriting perspective. Bill Cipher has a distinct personality. The Evil Entity doesn't. Bill's ultimately defeated because the characters cleverly outsmart him in a way that you could hypothetically guess in advance if you were actively engaged enough as a viewer. A way that's kind of bittersweet because of the sacrifice involved. The Evil Entity is ultimately defeated because of some vague voodoo that I don't remember being very clearly explained until the very last episode. Sure Mr. E sacrifices himself too (at least if I'm remembering right) but it's done in a much less satisfying way. What happens to him is just kind of depressing. I guess that's where the dark stuff is more a problem. I could make more comparisons that reach back and explain the difference in how the buildup was handled beyond just what was contained in the finale itself but that could practically be its own blogpost.
@@coltongsSG As for "Be Cool," I just couldn't get past how ugly the animation and the designs were. It didn't seem like my sense of humor either to be perfectly fair. Like a scooby show that's just a straight-up comedy, I'd rather watch APNSD. If only because the designs and animation in that one looked so much better by comparison.
He would had got away with it if it wasn’t for those trepassing kids.
As a fan of both the original Hardy Boys novels and '70s private investigator television series, I can testify to the visual concept of "letting yourself in" for the cause of justice definitely happening on a fairly regular basis. It was a different time😉
The 3 people who disliked this were part of Mr. Wickles's forgery crew.
The many memories of watching this episode on VHS.
Yes, please, love this idea. I have been on the verge of subscribing to Boomerang just to binge on Scooby Doo. With this in place, I'll definitely love to have this as a companion piece. Great idea.
I'm scarier than black knight!
The sharp edge of an open can of chef boyardee is scarier than the black knight, though I get your point.
Absolutely
That’s true
I feel like Mr. Wickles could have been planning to kill Hyde White but had to put him somewhere that would be very hard to find even unattended when the gang showed up unexpectedly.
You don't usually put somebody you're respecting the sanctity of in some sort of position with a mask that is definitely off putting, possibly a death god.
But it's a kids show, subtext can be only be subtle here.
its so strange hearing your real voice. love it and continue this series.
The 3 Scooby Doo Villains I always found the most unsettling were the Spooky Space Ghost, Mr Hyde, and the Ghost of Elias Kingston
Doc, your love and enthusiasm for this show is infectious, and that's coming from a 90s kid who also grew up loving the show thanks to endless reruns of this classic. I'd be interested to hear what you think of The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo as well somewhere down the line. Either way, I can't wait for more.
As someone who grew up watching Scooby Doo marathons for hours on Cartoon Network (seriously, back then it seemed like it aired 3-5 hours a day, and I loved it) I am SUPER interested in this series. Keep up the awesome work, dude! Great first episode. I can't wait to see you tackle some of the more iconic episodes.
This was literally my first cartoon and tv show, I grew up with it so much that my hobby is to speedrun the scooby doo video games. Thank you for doing this cause it combines my favorite cartoon and my favorite doc 💜
One unsolved mystery is how Wickles was able to wear that heavy suit of armor given his small size. I don't think he was using stilts like when Hank was disguised as the Forty Niner.
Also, Wickles is remarkably strong, able to lift and throw Scooby and Shaggy when they hid under a table during one scene.
Even my father watched Scooby Doo being born in the 80s the 60s version of the series would air and it’s one of the few tv shows i know of him watching as a kid.
I bet you wouldn't want to spend the night at our Milwaukee museum at night it's pretty scary during those dark sections
their godzilla show was similar, each episode had a cool looking 'monster'
Some of the background art for this show is really nicely drawn.
Its 1969 Saturday morning cartoons and Scooby doo is a new show, me and my brother are on having a bowl of Quisp cereal and Zonks! I've been with Scooby-Doo since the start, Rah rah! Love the Space Ghost villains best.
And I still watch Scooby Doo older episodes to this every couple months and there's tons of Scooby stuff to watch on boomerang I'd love to see more of these
Only just found out about this! So glad someone’s doing this. I adore this show and it’s weird how creepy and almost gothic it is.
I just love it! Could binge it all year really.
New to the channel, so glad someone is showing love for Scooby Doo. A beloved part of my childhood subscribed and liked!
This is so good I'm watching it again! Looking forward to the next one. I'm going to have to go by the box set to catch up on the old school Scooby-Doo :-)
This is definitely worth watching Doc, I thank ya! I'm a fan of the classic Scooby-Doo toons and I would love to see more of this! I really enjoyed the review!
I can barely contain my excitement for Tuesday’s! Great idea. Love scooby doo and I know you do too
This was really fun to watch. Keep it up Doc!
The classic and greatest age of Scooby-Doo before the advent of Scrappy-Doo, who i hate with the passion of a thousand burning suns. Love the review
Love the new series!! I'm looking forward to next Tuesday!!
Great video and I can't wait to see future Doosday stuff. I hadn't seen this episode in forever and I got a kick out of the non-mystery of it. It reminded me of Owen's "murder mystery" from Throw Momma From the Train that had two characters in it.
Cyd sounds like Casey Kasem.
@Gary Hall No way, he totally sounds like Ghoulash
Yes! Awesome job Cyd! We love this show!
Good work. Been a fan of yours for a few years. Keep it up!! 👍
Scooby Doo Where Are You is the BEST!
I thoroughly enjoy your videos on Scooby doo, glad to see this new series! Also, is this your regular voice or Dr. Wolfula doing his best radio voice? Either way, it’s coo
I Fucking love this idea! Doo talkin to me. All the way !!!
YES! Do the whole series!
Great stuff, looking forward to more!
1:03 Well a little unfamiliar now that the Mandela Effect took away Shaggy's adam's apple.
I can’t wait for more of these!
Scooby Doo is my ultimate favorite cartoon. 🤗🐕💛🧡
I find myself watching shows about movies and shows more than watching the actual movies and show being covered lol
Awesome. Im also big Scooby Doo Fan, watching to this day even im in my mid 30's 😁
Go Doc Wolfula!
Gosh looking back at this one when I was younger the only things from the epsdoie that scared the bejesus out of me where the black knights yellow eyes and that thing that professor hyde white was stuffed in yeesh as a kid that thing always scared the bejesus out of me still does a bit now but not as much as it did when I was younger
But I honestly love the Doo Talkin' To Me series and Scooby-Doo's Days is the perfect addition to the series!
One of my favourite episodes is the mummy one. "Coin, coin coin."
Fitting enough this was the first episode I remember watching peroid. I may have watched more but I would've been too young to remember. I watched this on the Scooby-Doo Original Mysteries VHS which contained the first 5 episodes of the show from this one to Decoy For A Dognapper and it got me to later watch some direct-to-video Scooby-Doo films, What's New Scooby-Doo and other classic Scooby-Doo shows mostly episodes from The Scooby-Doo Show and Where Are You I didn't actually watch that many episodes that had Scrappy-Doo until much later on and even some episodes from Where Are You and The Scooby-Doo Show as much of them weren't on DVDS or VHS tapes I had.
I like the episodes that are more "mello". It makes a more effective feeling. Not so much screaming, yelling, moaning and loud music. I like the "jazz-style" background music. I just wish they would have had more suspects, to make it more a "who done it".
This will be awesome! I hope you decide to do other series in the future I would love to hear more about Pup. Was always my favorite Scooby series. Keep up the great work Wolfy.
Pretty sure the other episode with a unique title card is "A Clue for Scooby-Doo", the Capt. Cutler episode.
How adorkable.
Very well done Cyd
Great review doc.
I probably saw this episode in 1969. On a black and white television 📺 😅
I have fond memories of watching these 60s classic episodes, some creepier than others I have to say.
Zombie Island and Cyber Chase are one of the best films for the franchise.
I'm a life long Scooby fan. When I was barely 3 (I'm 23) my family got a family picture done. I absolutely refused to put my stuffed Scooby down. So Scooby is forever in the only professional family picture we have.
*We need more Doo Talkin To Me!*
Yes! I love this idea
Loved it great job man
how many laws have these kids broken in all there travels
Love this content man
I love scooby doosday T_T Hope someday the second season will be covered!
Oh the 90 in CN my glory days
804 👍
I grew up on old school Scooby doo and loved it !
Loved it!!!
Dang it's still hard to believe that docs regular speaking voice is different than than thick almost "roaring 20s" Esq voice as a wolfulite
More of this would be neat...revisiting the cartoons I used to watch 30+ years ago.
Sorry Doc Shaggy never solved the puzzle box
Even today's generation knows Scooby. It's just that today's generation got introduced to Be Cool Scooby Doo. That's more like a Family Guy parody of Scooby Doo.
It's kinda sad. Hopefully they check out the original series - they're the best.
Scooby-Doo Reviews? I can dig it.
Old man Wickles touched me.....
Hey dr. Wolfula for carnival where are You?
I love Scooby Doo it was my gateway into horror. I totally shipped Shaggy and Velma
I'd like to see more
Here's hoping that Sid eventually reviews other Scooby Doo series like the fan favorite Mystery Incorporated, or my personal favorite: The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo.

I like this.
Hell yes .. do them all! (Then a pup named Scooby Doo and 13 ghosts too) LOL
For some reason I always thought the Creeper episode was the first.
Only Scooby Doo where are you or all the Scooby Doo series?
Scooby Doo!!!
wasn`t a big fan of Scooby Doo when it came out thought it was more for girls starts watching it in the 80`s and loved it
Doo talking to me, is a rare yet fun concept. I love it and hope for more, though I have to ask doc when you finish the og series will you do a massive overview of the scooby doo movies?
Love scoob, keep it up
Roiks raggy
Hello, One of my most favorite episode is Bedlam In The Big Top with the Ghost Clown. I will be curious as to how you rate it. Did you ever collect the Scooby Doo Gold Key, Charlton, Marvel, Harvey, DC comic books?
I never collected the comics myself, I've read a few, though
That episode was my favorite too. I fell in love with unicycle Daphne on my B&W small Eurosport tv.
Hey Dr. Wolfula, do something on the movie Vamp (1986)
Don't make the black knight growl, make him laugh
You have been discovered by the algorithm
Hi Sid good video
