- What is it like to fly Business Class into Europe after lockdown? What's changed, are there restrictions stopping you and how has the experience effected the enjoyment of travel. Referred to as the Airbridge or travel bubble - it is now possible for intra Europe travel. I fly on three different aircraft most interestingly BA's 787 Dreamliner in Business Class & also Iberia's A350 in their Business.
Possibly the most alarming experience was a completely full flight on Iberia's A320. After months of social distancing, being sandwiched in a plane with many others does make you feel a little uneasy.
I also show you the arrival experiences by country, including Spain, Belgium, Holland and back in the UK. What forms and processes you have to go through now including if you need to quarantine.
Lastly I look into what it's like to travel on public transport throughout Europe, and how reliability of hotel bookings has been effected.

Thank you JT 😀 - it’s crazy isn’t it the difference between neighbouring countries. Have a slightly longer haul trip in the next couple of weeks, should further provide some interesting insight into how countries deal so differently.

I just found your channel. My mantra is : There is no prestige in paying too much (being ripped-off). That is what airlines are doing now as you show - Business Class fares with Basic Economy service. My wife and I travel, usually in Business Class, we wait for a deal as we are in no hurry, or Premium Economy depending on the airline (NOT Air France - horrible). But, the main thing you share with us is - find the beer or the good stuff in the Lounge. Thanks for an entertaining and informative channel.

Trek Trendy I thought it was a good flight, and getting free food in economy was excellent as you wouldn’t normally get such things on BA. It was a shame the IFE was locked though unlike when I did a similarly short flight on the Hainan 787 from EDI-DUB (not that you can watch a movie in 40 minutes)

Love the vlogs ........Uber are not available outside of most international terminals as airports authorities no uber are not safe they have multiple issues with drivers with no insurance sharing licences with family members as well as much more serious offences... Airports only allocate traditional licensed safe taxis directly outside of terminals it does surprise when first/business flyers are prepared to Wonder around an airport looking for a person simply signed up to an app sitting in the car park to save minimal amounts ....
The yin yang was my first ever cabin in business class. Didn't really know what to expect of business class after that. But now when I have tried a few different ones I agree It's not that bad and I kinda like it.

Agreed here - I'm quite the BA fan and whilst it get's a lot of stick it's all down to choosing the right seat. If you get stuck in a middle seat between others I totally get why people would dislike the experience but a lot of the window seats are among the most private out there in J. Best to check Expert Flyer to be sure. Egates were not working when I was a LHR, unsure if this has changed (flying through in a couple of days so will report back)

@@Trektrendy well the plan was London to Vienna, Vienna to Athens, Athens to Istanbul and then back all over 3 days in August but not sure now with all the sudden government changes.
I'm flying to Amsterdam this week. Surprised I'm on the dreamliner on the way back! May upgrade...not sure if it's worth it...
It all depends, if you've not tried BA club world, it's a good sample of it albeit a very short flight. If you've flown it a few times before it's probably not worth it for anything but the novalty
I stayed at the Sir Adam in my first trip to Amsterdam in ‘18. Cool hotel. Didn’t love the weird shower-closet (same as the other Sir). But I prefer the Kimpton the other side of the station.
I stayed at the hotel on that island last year! The view was fantastic!

Trek Trendy Unfortunately there were tons of people lining up so I just gave it up 🤣 but the view from my room was A-MA-ZING: the “I Amsterdam” sculpture was literally right in front of my bed 😂 Also I was lucky enough to be there when there was this disco party in the lounge right next to the lobby. Kissed a few Dutch guys and had a wonderful night.

The rocket in Brussels is the symbol of a famous Belgian comic book figure, named Tintin (or "Kuifje" in Dutch)! Brussels Airlines even has a livery with this guy and his dog... by the way, Jupiler isn't bad, but Stella Artois is much better AND is from Leuven ;)

I am nervous about air travel. Would you be willing to cover a cruise leaving and returning to Vancouver. I have a lung condition called IPF and flying is hard. The checks do seem tick box, but I don’t see it as feasible to run detailed checks on everyone especially with pax loads increasing at present. Off further afield in a couple of weeks... I have a feeling that may be a little different

Social distancing in a plane is going to be difficult. You can’t leave empty middle seats when the cost of 60 empty seats is not being covered by the government of the country of origin. People need to follow guidance and wash their hands, sanitise, and wear a mask.
He didn’t wear his mask properly at any point in this video. I was very disappointed in his terrible behavior. This is such a terrible issue everywhere accept in Asian countries. It makes me furious!

You talk about getting back to living relatively normally but I don't think things will be back to anywhere near normal for quite awhile . I live here in Brisbane Australia we are told that international will take at least two years to come back and not back to 2019 level till 2023 . I will only be flying if I absolutely have to .
I think it varies massively as to where you’re based in the world. Europe is certainly heading back to relative normality, flights are increasing each week and some airports are recognisable to an extent to what they were pre covid. Hopefully things in Australia will improve soon, especially for the sake of the aviation/tourism industry. Sad to see the last 747 leaving Qantas last week. Safe travels when you are able to resume ✈️
Trek Trendy I work at Brisbane airport or should I say worked presently on stand down it is like a ghost town ! There are a few domestic flights and mining and bush flights but international almost nothing , Qantas international aircraft are sitting on the ground . I say I am on Stand down there are thousands of airport and aviation workers here on stand down effectively out of work . Sad times for anyone in aviation /airlines we all just want to get back to normal or as near normal as possible as soon as possible . I was due in May to fly to England and France but the virus stopped that so 2020 has not been a great year .

Haha I know where you're coming from. On a busy flight the existing BA seat can be a nightmare for privacy. However the key is to grab the two seats with direct aisle access and to get that barrier up at take off (or make a new awkward friend). Have you seen their new Club Suites? Everyone is getting upset in the comments about not wearing a mask correctly, but what about avoiding non-essential travel all together? That would be even more effective at reducing the risk of transmission.
Mask needs to be worn OVER THE NOSE AND MOUTH!!! Its pointless wearing it otherwise! And it needs to be worn in all public places including train stations, trains, aircraft and airports..How is that so difficult to understand???

Ferry is the easiest for cyclists or pedestrians if you need to be on the waterfront side otherwise a metro does the job as well but you are further from that hotel.
Also ba used to fly a 767 to Amsterdam back in the day on selected flights.

why do you never fly economy?
I do still fly Economy - all depends on the route and other options available. The flights in this video were largely booked with air miles so actually cheaper than cash economy. Hope that helps explain a little on my rational
How did you not end up in quarantine for 7-14 days in each country you landed in particularly in the peak of the Delta variant if not the Alpha variant. Guessing it's why you didn't go to the US or Canada and had you gone to Australia/NZ at the time you did this trip you'd be in lockdown quarantine for 14 days if you were even able to get into the country which I doubt not as a tourist anyway.
I can't even lave my house, so there no way I could sit next to someone, I do not trust people I have always been that way from personal reason but right now it grown even more it say 6 feet part I stand more than that apart if I need to go out side for something that can be delivered, people where I live (in the UK) just don't give a crap, Not having a mask on not staying 6 feet apart, one of my mum friends still think it's a big joke and hate it when she has to put a mask on when coming over to the house, she also not happy that I told her if she goes on holiday she not getting back in this house for 4 weeks if not more,
other people have already giving you a telling off for the mask so I'll leave you alone, I know some people find it a little funny at first having it all over but soon you get used to it, =D
I would not fly if the plane is packed. For the same money To fly first class I can get a private sleeper cabin on a train, with meals included. Then I know there will be social distancing.
A fair point (I love a long distance luxury train) but flying from Madrid - Brussels was £39 and took 2 hours. With time and monetary constraints the vast majority of passengers will unfortunately have no choice fly packed planes.
Trek Trendy time constraints I get. I can fly Toronto to Halifax in 2.5 hrs, or take the train which is 23 hrs. I guess it comes down to reason for travel. Wether I fly or take the train across Canada, it’s pretty much the same cost. Tbh, I wish I had the money to fly business or first class anywhere in an A380... they look very neat!
@@tanzanite8908 Exactly this. I imagine some will opt to use the train for pleasure travel where possible (especially within Europe), whereas for business, air travel priority will remain. Yes, those suites on some of the A380s are like small rooms, perfect social distancing :D

Exactly my reaction. While I can excuse the exposure when you were clearly alone and doing a narration, that wasn't always the case. This is how the virus spreads internationally.

It's because people like you aren't wearing masks properly etc the virus is still spreading...Just plain selfish and irresponsible...
Even on your timelapses and when boarding/u boarding the train close to people you can be seen wearing the mask over your mouth only. There's no way you were wearing it correctly for 95% of the time. This truly disgusts me and the fact that you lie like this is truly embarrassing.
I could not care less wether there is or isn’t social distancing, I believe in mass immunity, and I just think it’s nice to see some sort of normality, otherwise we will be stuck with people worried about going near you for ages.
I think the issue here is everyone can social distance to their hearts content until they step on a plane/train/coach etc and have to sit next to someone or push past someone to go to the bathroom. It's just not practical long term. I do get why people are hesitant, but for me mitigating through wearing a mask/washing hands is a better solution
