Tunisian people are very happy : your video was NECESSARY ! Since 2011, TUNISAIR is getting a very bad reputation, but tunisian (and french) complaints are ignored with contempt and arrogance. Thank you for your video ! And do it again, and again, and again, because tunisian customers just NEED YOU !!! When a tunisian customer complains, who cares ? And, if a french customer complains, they send him to Hell : "you are a f..king colonialist" is the best polite answer a french complainer can hope.
You’re right I stopped even use their company to travel because of the security. It’s getting worst every year...
My take from this comment: Tunisia was colonised by France.
@@everythingisawesome2903 : France has nothing to do in that precise case !
(1) Tunisair has been founded in 1948. It got zero casualty in 72 years ! My first flights on Tunisair took place in the fifties. It has always been a "super OK air company", always on schedule, always clean, with fantastic cabin service from 1948 to 2010.
(2) After the independence of Tunisia in 1956, Tunisair became entirely tunisian. In the sixties, even the pilots were tunisian.
(3) Tunisair was a top quality air company from 1948 to 2011 ; one of the few companies with absolutely NO CASUALTY (I mean zero killed under Tunisair flag, it is a fantastic performance ! ). The casualty number, zero, is better than those of Luftansa, Air France, Swissair, aso. A few casualties occured on Tuninter, another tunisian company.
(4) Since 2011, Tunisair has been compelled to recruit hundreds of incompetent persons for political reasons : that is the only cause of the bl..dy mess.
@@he-edd-l3784 Is that why they kicked out Olfa the newly appointed CEO? because she was willing to reverse the company to that better state? i feel like everything done in Tunisia is pushed by the Labor union and their destructive agendas.

What did you invent to make Tunisia a better place?
Okay maybe not that question.
What did you accomplish in your own life to make yourself a better person?
You can work 1 year in whatever field you want and you will make money. Depends on how smart and brave you are. OR you can complain till you are 50 years old and die at 60 because you can't afford some cheap meds.
LMAO what do you know about me ? i was talking about the whole situation here .. not far from what was mentioned in this video .. An according to way you talk it's like we are in Germany and we got all the opportunities to evolve ? but are you dreaming ? you can't see the situation ? you can't see how people live ? you can see how we and our parents struggle to pay our taxes you can't see the dirty streets ? the dirty services ? the dirty behaviour ? you didn't see all of that ? and you just talking to us like we are the only responsible for this . Forgot to mention i'm an engineer :)
As a Tunisian, and being 20, this is really heartbreaking. Our administration is still stuck is the 60s and the bureaucracy tearing it up. When the corrupt syndicate and union members ruling everything, in Tunisia, righteousness is forbidden and falsehood was never upheld. This is unfortunate for a country with such history.
Honestly, I was expecting way worse when I first clicked on the video 😂. I've been flying with Tunisiair quite regularly from Munich to Tunis or Monastir and I've seen the company deteriorating throughout the years. I think there are a lot of issues within the company management and some people are fighting for having it sold to become a private property rather than a national company, whereas others are fighting against that. So it's clearly not the golden age of the company right now.
He was lucky enough flying on A330 and not on the disaster A320,
You sir hit the target, it's a matter of bad management and fraud cases that'll make things worse
Yeah same with me . I thought something bizarre but its normal even the plane looks new, the one I've took from 10 years was the worst ever. But he's right there's a dust nd dirt as well. I hope that Tunisair takes ur recommandation so seriously 👍

You're absolutely right about the currency issues; I visited Tunis in 2019, and was told/reminded repeatedly (as well as reading in trip advisor reviews etc) that Tunis is very strict when it comes to taking local currency out of the country..
I love cheese with muffins. I laughed my head off when you kept saying *WhO eAtS cHeEsE wItH a MuFfIn?* There is a traditional Filipino dish involving a muffin and a slice of cheese

For the question on money/ currency: it is illegal to take the local currency (Tunisian dinars) out of the country...

You can't take TND out you can take euros or USD with a 6000TND limit on conversion

but as a tunisian local currency is illegal
Tunisia is soooooo pretty! I went there last summer and it’s one of my favorite places

I’m a doc and I love your videos!! It’s great to get an honest objective view of the airlines you travel on. I think you’re right and if they put everything on one tray with disposable plates and wear gloves they change frequently as well as masks, a hot meal is well within their abilities without an increase in transmission risk. Keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to your next trip!
Hey there. We still buy take away hot food, cooked hot chickens at the supermarket, coffee at our local cafe and of course get Uber eats delivered so there is absolutely no excuse not to serve a pre portioned hot meal with decent presentation wearing PPE exactly as you stated. In fact heating a meal on board to a high temp would be safer than cheese or yogurt from a bacteria perspective. It is just ridiculous. Take Care, hope you are doing well at this difficult time. 👍
I am a regular at carthage airport and I've been going to the business lounge since forever I can assure you I've never seen it in such a state, it has always been well presented and looked after, the staff are always friendly and the service is good. It has never looked so deserted and unprofessional, it's quite a saddening view yet understandable given the current situation. I hope you revisit it in better conditions and not be as decieved❤
yeaahhh right... he's lucky he didn't get his loggedge stolen😂😂😂 i'm sure he'll be back soon if he's looking for the worst weirdest least professional air flight company😂😂

Dear Josh,
Thanks for showing the reality, specially to TunisAir...I beleive this is how we can work on to upgrade "quality services"
Tunisian citizen
A number of years ago I flew with Tunisair from London to Tunis. The safety demo was was done AFTER take off! I was cabin crew with a different airline at the time and Tunisair did not impress me at all.
Hi from Toronto Josh. I’m 75 and enjoy flying (been to 40 countries) but there’s no way I’ll get on a plane just now. I always enjoy your reviews (you are the best by far) and you gave me tears in my eyes from laughing with your little rant over no bread with the cheese. Be healthy and travel safely.
You are so right Josh. The reason why some airlines are not serving meals in premium class is because they don't want to. I fear that since they started this, they may never serve food again. They are not lowering prices either. No airline advertises about their service anymore, because most truly don't care.
I’m guessing, since the aviation industry had been hit hard by the pandemic, some airlines do need to marry safety and hygiene with cost cutting. But, definitely, cleanliness and safety and security must never be compromised. The non-existence of English safety videos and announcements is beyond shocking.
Orly is actually closer to Paris, it cost more money to the companies to land there. It’s also more common to the locals who lives in Paris to choose Orly instead of CDG 😊
So here's the deal with Airline Food:
The danger with coronavirus is contact between people. I do not believe there have been any proven cases of spread through food.
Generally, they should serve the entire meal in one course to minimize the contact between cabin crew and passengers. This will require a tray rather than plates and the what not. This may require some compromises in food (particularly presentation) but not like this.
That said, one issue airlines are having is sourcing food. Industrial kitchens are a good vector for spreading covid. Lots of close in work in rooms with poor ventilation. With social distancing, I imagine caterers are moving much, much slower, which may require compromises (like packaged food) to get it out. Airlines that serve full meals may come from countries either with little concern about worker safety or with low rates of covid.
👏
Yes I think so
Tunisia has a low rate of COVID, you can Google that. Highest safety with Montenegro.
I took many flights with Tunisair and in the morning usually there are no hot meals, but breakfast. It’s probably as you explained because of the virus that this was all mixed up.
Mn On it is not bats. It is much more confusing than that.

Hello, you're right we Tunisian people suffer every year from this company
You eat cheese with nothing in France, so I think it's quite OK to serve only the cheese without bread :)

This is so rude
Thanks for your visit and review, I hope one day who ever is responsible for the Tunisian national carrier do a better job and put a tighter regulations to keep the Tunisian wings on a higher standards levels. I, personally used the Tunisair service twice, I never liked it. The previous system of the president Ben Ali worked hard to ruin the Tunisair, and 10 years now after the revolution, that impact of the systemic destruction of the La Gazelle is visibly stronger despite all the efforts implied to rebuilt it. It will take another decade to fix all this mess and get rid of the opponent forces of the Tunisian revolution.
Seems unfair to review this airline right now.
Why would it be unfair?
that’s honestly what I want to know too, how
If you can’t clean and sanitise your cabin during corona how would it look like during normal times?
Josh Cahill i’m not arguing with that part, that’s just nasty. It’s more that I think you called it a full review but this isn’t the full service during the pandemic. Hopefully you gat the chance to fly them again once the emergency is over.
It’s a hard product review then :) - thanks for the feedback!
Love Tunisia❤ Beautiful country and kind people
thank you
Had to pass by and watch this after all the hallebaloo all over the internet. Obviously, you made an impression and your opinion is valued. Well done, keep up the good work.
Very objective review and commentaries. The remarks that the crew and staff are welcoming, polite and nice are refreshing and give me hope that TunisAir can improve in the future.
I flew with Tunisair to Germany multiple times and can also relate to his comments: friendly crew, thoughtful and caring, well representing the welcoming values of a crossroads nation such as Carthage.
Hey Josh, interesting video, I appreciate the work you do. As others have mentioned, it is forbidden to take Tunisian currency out of the country. I’m fact, when I traveled to Tunisia years ago, I noticed that I wasn’t even able to obtain Tunisian currency at any exchange counters in France (where I was traveling from). Was told you can only obtain currency when you are physically in the country. Safe and healthy continued travels to you!!
I am Tunisian and I discover your channel just now! thank you for this rapport, ur video made the buzz in Tunisia .. may the airport workers of Tunisair improve the quality of services
cuz that can make a bad image of us ... I follow you .. you are so funny yaa
I am tunisian, leaving abroad 20 years now.. I fly to Tunisia every year. and I NEVER use Tunisair services.
Hello Mr. Cahill, I have always enjoyed to watch your clips. I am not sure if you have forgotten to turn English subtitles on. I wasn’t able to watch it with out the subtle.
Please stop that tadatatada Music everywhere! atleast when takeoff so we can hear engine sound properly!
It's so stupid, they tend to put oriental music even tho Tunisia is far from being a middle eastern country.
It's foreign music even to my Tunisian ears, we don't do that here.
it's not a tunisian music
Man Antom Nah. Tunisia has Nothing to do with the Middle East, maybe you listen to their music, we have our own.
@Man Antom Alright i'll buy it for a sec, what cultural aspects do we have in common with Iraq, Qatar and Saudi Arabia? if YOU "don't care" if people stereotype our beautiful nation as "another nutcase middle eastern country" then that's YOUR problem because most of us care. only ignorants associate the Maghreb with the ME. pan-arabism is outdated crap.

Im from Tunisia and I thank you for this video. We want that will be better from years but nothing changed.
Was waiting for this video for a long time thank you Josh Cahill for this . Personally I have been boycotting this company since 2006 its among the worst corrupted companies in Tunisia if not the most before and post revolution... ashamed to call it a national airline carrier

My parents use to fly with Air Algerie in 1981-1983 and brought me a couple of souvenirs with their logo. It was exciting to see that their logo has not changed at all in 40 years!
8:10 This is or was the same system when I visited Leningrad in Russia long time ago, the authorities just want to know if we brought along large sum of local currency to be sort of smuggled out of the country, but not when we were already in the jet bridge, but at the Immigration area ..... But in your case, maybe anyone else can explain ?
That's what it is. They double check, and there's a lack of trust among the ranks unfortunately.
Tunisia is a kind of ex-GDR... (GDR = German communist east-Germany)
Yes, but you will not be allowed to exchange back without a reciept.
And many atm does not have papers in them.
So you will get scammed.
A lot of stuff are being said here in Tunisia regarding this review. Tunisians hate when someone from outside comes to point the real problems they are refusing so hardly to see.
Being a frequent user of Tunisiair and OACA Airports (Nationals airport Management Authority) passing by is always a bad experience, now Ture COVID Crisis didn't make things easier for both, but still all what you pointed out is ture and accurate.
Regarding your question on minute 8:20 it is strictly forbidden to take out any kind of national currency, the fine for doing so is quite severe.
Cheers mate, job well done
Hi Josh, greetings from Toronto, Canada. I think the main issue that most of your critics are trying to put across (which they are unable to do properly) is that you are strategically picking airlines that you may be aware are struggling and will naturally give you great trending content which eventually will grow your audience for the wrong reasons. While I am sure you have your own strategy and road map for your channel, not everyone will be able to look at things from your altitude. Keep doing what you do. Your true fans will always be on your side. All the best!
He has plenty of positive reviews, if the airline were better this wouldn't be an issue. It seems like you are misunderstanding the concept of RUclips, views are a good thing and listening to your viewers requests is a form of positive customer service, perhaps lessons can be learned from that. The irony is not missed here though, you are moaning at someone being negative, yet that is the purpose of your comment, at least he is being paid for what he is doing. How can people see bad service and blame the reviewer? This isn't even a terrible review, it shows lax attitude and in aviation, that is a choice that should be challenged.
Hi josh, I'm Tunisian and I agree with everything you said... well you just described what you've been through 👍 and thank you for that...
:D well-done man, your video made some noise in Tunisia, it is becoming main subject on the local radio and tv shows.

You have triggered a national crisis in Tunisia good work 😂. I have often flown with tunis air and what you have shown was nothing you have to go on the 737 600 it looks catastrophic. Delayes, everything is broken inside, dirty, and you could think the plane would fall apart at any moment. Air conditioning broken at 40 degrees in the midday sun.
The tunisian people who get upset here and call you a liar have never flown before in their lives. I hope tunis air takes this criticism to heart and finally changes these catastrophic conditions. But as I see it now, I don't believe in it. Instead, people are trying to denigrate you and they are trying to make excuses. These people in this country cannot deal with criticism, so they cannot develop. They (people/media/manger in Tunisia) can't even understand that RUclipsr/ Influencer have become the new testers and advertisers in the 21th century "idiots" 😂
Opinions you give are great and feel genuine and independent.
The most funny part was the question :"Who eats cheese with muffins" and your laughter after that! Man that had me cracking up. ahahaha xD
Let me give a quick updates.
Afiriqiyah airways and libyan airlines are a government supported airlines working in libya mainly do regional flights such as tunisia, egypt, Jordan, Sudan and some African countries. They were hit badly during the many conflicts that accured in libya, afiriqiyah has an exclusively Airbus fleet 319,320 and 330, on the other hand libyan also got 320 and 330 but CRJ 900ER
I fly tunis air to get to Libya, by transit, and gosh, the experiences I’ve had in the airport are hellish. You’re lucky it’s empty, because mid-summer, it’s packed to the point there’s people sitting and sleeping on the floors and they’re dirty and the seats are notoriously uncomfortable anyways.
you made a huge scandal in our country xD , Tunisair also got embarrassed
It should be a big scandal when its involved national carrier. It is the pride of Tunisia as it represent your country. Your frontline ambassador. But paying to fly bisness class and got only pack breakfast....that is bad. In Malaysia pack breakfast is for lowcost carrier. Even in economy from our national carrier for international route you will be serve hot breakfast not pack breakfast. Shame on Tunis Air. Sorry for millions of Tunisian...shame
Josh, you do an amazing, outstanding job. Hope you have a good supply of hand sanitizer with you when you travel!!
Danke für das Video. Du hast nicht zufällig das ganze Safety Video aufgezeichnet? Würde das nämlich gerne mal sehen.
Tunisia an amazing country and incredibly friendly people. Djerba island is my favourite place. Oh, and Josh to answer your question on local currency, you are correct you are not permitted to take currency out of the country.
Lucky Josh landed safe and sound without being robbed 🤣
Haha not funny buster
I’m watching this as your newer video popped for me. The first thing I noticed…..there is no one on that plane! That flight must be costing the airline tons. No wonder it’s cheese and a napkin
On domestic flights in the USA, you don’t get anything but peanuts/pretzels and a drink. They have snack boxes that you can buy. I can’t remember how much they are, because when I wanted to buy one, they had run out! I was on a flight from California to New York which was supposed to be a six hour flight, more or less. I had just eaten breakfast when I boarded, so I thought I would just wait and eat when I got to New York. But we ended up having to fly around a huge storm, which added another 3 hours to our flight! Needless to say, I was starving by the time we got to New York!
Well, you wanted the tunisair experience? You got it! 😂
Flew with Tunisair in 97, for my first trip abroad when I was 7... funny enough, it was on 727, which looked like it was going to fall apart any moment, but I was a kid first time flying so I didnt care... the plane was retired shortly after my flights... shame their planes look so bad, but still, the first airline I ever flew with, and the first and only time on 727
Thanks for your review. No one can deny how Tunisair has a bad reputation and maybe corruption concerning their services. However, I feel like you already have a stereotype about it and you are doing everything to confirm that!!! Otherwise, who can laugh so hard for some cheese with muffin? Or some yogurt and muffin? That’s weird of you more than the cheese itself.
The staff was kind and helpful, I see the lady coming to help you with the table, no one is ignoring you. Greetings and smiles all time. That’s positive and reflects how warm and kind the Tunisians are. Again, thank you for your review, Tunisair needs to improve the service anyway.
Sending you love from 🇹🇳
Are you suggesting that airlines should go against Covid recommendations?
You do know that those are not just IATA recommendations, but hold for many other sectors too, yes?
I think you should be very careful and refrain to give opinions pro/anti Covid measures and things like those, because you're giving a very dangerous message: you're not a virologist or epidemiologist, but you "know stuff".
@Schalk van Staden at 11:40 he says that he doesn't agree with those recommendations unless someone proves him otherwise, and stresses that they are only recommendations, not binding.
In all that, his implying that they should not be followed is pretty clear. Otherwise why would he be casting all those doubts and stating that he doesn't believe they work?
@Schalk van Staden that is exactly the context, the one you're mentioning. He starts by talking about cuts on catering, but then gives his opinions on IATA recommendations, it's very clear English to my ears. Sorry, but I have a high enough education not to be fooled about these things.
Thank you for this video, I wish everyone who flies with Tunisair exposes it like this. We could be among the most amazing countries in the world if only corruption stops, smh
I always check out Josh's review before trying a new airline :)
In Tunisia you can't take there currency out off the country for some reason it's classed as an offence and can be fined for it I remember seeing signs for it in the airport at enfidha but I still took a few dinars home without them noticing

Dear Josh, First I would love to thank you for the initiative of visiting my country Tunisia, and on behalf of people of Tunisia I apologize for any inconvenience caused, not because I belong there, but really Tunisia is an iconic beautiful country with much of diversity (beaches, mountains, forest, snow and desert at the same land) and Tunisair was one of the leading airlines in the region and Africa well known for the great service and especially the well-trained pilot's reputations, I wish if you had conducted this visit before 2011 so you will experience and see what I already mentioned. As since that date the country faces a lot of political issues and dramatically got corrupted... again please accept our apologies.
Don’t apologize ? It’s not like it’s our fault!
Don’t you think we go through hell living in our country because of our corrupted responsables ??
I’m ever so grateful he didn’t try Tunis Gabes train , because that would be an even BIGGER disaster than this .

When it comes to corruption you cant do anything , unless some powerful party applies laws and does it the hard way .
These people are unstoppable.
Imagine the last head government is corrupted ( he has only been a few months in , and he already spread his corruption) , and he fired the head of the association of anti corruption, because he himself , the very one who should be fighting corruption , is accused of corruption.
How the hell are you going to eradicated this ?
Tunisair just got new a320 neo aircrafts. Are you planning on catching a flight for one of their a320 neos?
Wow, the Tunisair lounge reminds me of an Urban Exploration video.
I mean an urbex video of a recently abandoned airport would be amazing, but not in this context.
I’m Tunisian, I took Tunisair once in 2007 and i vowed to never set a foot in another Tunisair flight
Oh my goodness, the situation with the Lounge, could have something to do with the situation in the world, but still, should be at least one person, to greet people welcome. The food they could diffently have done that better, it dident look like they had thought that through, just like a quick put together box. I think the cleaning should be taken more seriously, as yet people still touch different things on the flight. But again it cost extra time and money, which they might wanna save, which is completely wrong.
Totally agree that there should have been English aswell espacilly for safty! Else it looked like a lovely flight. ☺️
Don't forget it is a business class :(
@@amineberbouchi9435 Then close the lounge, if running it is too inconvenient. And cleaning up in the evening before calling it a day is a no brainer, is it?
Yes the workers are quarantined
To anyone who is scrolling through the comments, yes maybe this airline is not worth it (thank you for ur honest review tho) but u should take a look to discover the beautiful places of Tunisia. Honestly our country is unique here’s why:
We have so many gorgeous beaches( you can even find some camels at the beach 🤗)
Our tunisian sahara desert is so insane and breathtaking.
Our historical sites are the best.( we really have a rich diverse history)
Our food is so good and tasty (we don’t have harissa only haha we have Tajine, bambalouni, lablabi, mechouia salad and so much more!!!)
Our country is full of culture, adventures and history.
Wow, I am coming 3 years late for this video, this plane had like 1% full, if even that. How many pax were on this flight? ( I know, it was Covid times, but still...)
Come back in a non Corona pandemic situation and get into the lounge when its open (I mean on time) not @ 5:30 am
The Food reminded me of High School....
INDEED
the money thing is for customs, you have to declare it if you’re taking any foreign currency out of the country and there a limit to the sum u can take
The tunisian currency is a soft currency so you are not allowed to take it out of the country apart from maybe just a few coins you have left. This was the case when i was in Tunisia quite a few years ago. And we couldn't get the currency in the UK before travel so had to get it when we arrived in Tunisia. This was in 1997 and 1998 so don't know if it's any different now but going by this video it seems to be the same still.
Just like Morocco you can’t take local currency with you when leaving the country...
in any station ??? sibta or mlila ??
@@rafikchb3446 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
But You can Take Hashish Bro :3
Warm bran muffins with cheese is common here in South Africa. It wouldn't be served on a flight though but in bistros its common. I guess its an African thing.
Not in Tunisia. That's just tunisair being tunisair: cheap and incompetent
About the language is normal you are flying from Tunisia to France the official language is Arabian in Tunisia and French in France and also a good amount of people are speaking French in Tunisia... I’ve never see 3 languages for safety vidéo (or only in subtitle) sometime a company may change the video depending of the destination. It’s seems normal for me :)
It needs to be in English by law.
@@JoshCahill you mean it is already required by the law or you think it should be in the future required by the law ? Does the IATA/AITA have a common rule on the matter or something in the Warsaw treaty ?
16:59 Not Monaco, close: from left to right Cap d'Antibes, Vallauris and Cannes
Hey, quite well the meal service, we are in pandemic, some airlines doesn't even have service in any of their classes, just water!!!
Roberto S Zaninovich on domestic flights in Thailand they’re not even allowed to serve us anything right now.... what they do instead is give you a bottle of water at the end of the flight. In the golden age of air travel in 2019 we got a full hot meal and coffee/tea service as well on Bangkok Airways or a hot snack on Thai Airways.
Never flown tunisair but id say it looks pretty good and clean
