They should have to pay interest on delayed refunds.

Depends on the jurisdiction. In Germany, the company would have to pay about 4.1% interest. I just successfuly sued Ryanair and the German Railways, so I can say: It works 🫣

You have a lot more patience than I. I think I would have given them a window of time for a refund before requesting a credit card charge back or have used any travel insurance purchased for the trip to get my money. There are zero excuses for the airline to withhold a refund for longer than 45 days unless they are having serious cash flow issues.

I think it's deeply immoral and reprehensible that so many companies outsource customer service to other countries AND then hide behind those cheap call centre staff to take customer anger and claim they are company representatives when they're just working for a subcontractor WHILE the responsible decision maker or any of their direct line staff will never answer to one single customer by design of the system. It leaves individuals, families, or staff of customer businesses absolutely fuming - this when dealing with a large range of aloof international corporations these days.

As a guy who lives in Oman itself, Oman Air does indeeed have issues, it's insanely congested, the food is.......well, let's not get into that, and mostly the lack of transparency. It's quite the shame that an airport like Muscat Intl has to house Oman Air.

Mashallah, I was a Freq Flyer with Oman Air for a short time and it was so bad I left and became a high-level Freq Flyer with Etihad instead. Was so, so much better. A bonus was my parents moved from Al Ain to Abu Dhabi, so Etihad was better for me from Australia to Abu Dhabi. The product on Etihad in J and F cabin is so much nicer than Emirates ( which is mediocre and dated, like at the time it was really 6 abrest in J on the A380 and B777, wtf! thankfully it's now a standard 4 abreast, emirates was a forerunner in the 90s, but took a dive in the late 2000's )
In any case, I give SQ my money now as they are by far one of the best and most consistent carriers I've travelled on in the last decade.
Fantastic staff, great lounges at T3 in Singapore, especially 'The Private Room' and ive always felt taken care of, and that it was worth the money.

Hi Josh, Hope you get your money back soon. Very unfortunate that Oman Air has done this to the passengers. I had booked Emirates from SIN to JFK during the covid season nefore it broke out. They did reimburse the amount as soon as all flights were cancelled,. I didn't have to even make a request. They initiated and paid back without any delay. Waiting for your flight details to Israel. Take care.

I'm really surprised to read about this and also your second negative review of WY because they're my go-to airline whenever I travel from KHI-LHR as they have the best J class fares and I also like the fact that MCT airport is not like DXB or IST where you have to walk miles and miles from gate to gate, its fairly quick and easy to make your connecting flight. However in all the years I have flown with WY I only had one bad experience when my flight from KHI-MCT was slightly delayed and while I made it in time to the gate to board the LHR flight, they didn't allow me to board as they said my bags would not be able to be transferred to the LHR flight on time so they would put me on BA departing early morning (it was 1:45am at this point) and I should go and sit in the J class lounge (I was in J class) till the departure time of my BA flight and after a while they brought my BA boarding pass from MCT-LHR and assured me I was in J class but by the time I boarded the old BA 772 I discovered I was in World Traveler Plus (Premium Y) so I mentioned this to the BA crew and they told me that this has happened before with WY and they were unable to put me in J and I would have to sort it out with WY later. After several emails with the WY customer service where I expected some form of compensation for the downgrade they gave me, the maximum they offered me was 45 Euros which I declined. Subsequent discussions with them regarding a review of the amount of compensation offered (I even suggested air miles as I was a Sindbad Silver member too) was met by dead silence and no replies or further communication from their end which ended up being a huge disappointment for me as I never expected them to deal with a J class customer and Silver FF member in such a lackluster and indifferent manner.
