I have been deeply perturbed by the fact that Qatar are housing Hamas in their country !
I have flown many times with them in the past. After flying with United Emirates and Etihad and being treated in a very dismissive way by the female staff. I chose not to fly with them ... hence I chose Qatar.
Now I will not fly with any of the Middle Eastern Airlines in the future !

To Qatar Airways: Honestly Josh's bad review would not prohibit me from flying with you guys - after all, it's just two flights and may not be representative of all of your flights. There are also times that I disagree with flight reviewers and have had better experiences than what they commented. However, paying for the video to be removed, banning reviewer for unfavourable review and dismissing the crew would make me decide against flying with Qatar Airways as I don't want my air fares to be supporting such disgraceful acts.

Hi Josh, I worked my self for Qatar airways for more than 12 years at a managerial level so I know a lot about what is going on “behind the scene”. What you have reported about dismissing people, is just an example of how Qatar Airways appreciates (or actually doesn’t appreciate) the work of its employees. What they have achieved all these years is built on the hard work of expats. But for them expats are just a workforce without dignity. I do not want to get into cultural issues, but honestly, the way they treat people is manifested in their culture. Whenever they are confronted with a situation that they cannot resolve the way they want, they just dismiss people. I am happy that at the end of the day Akbar Al Baker got a taste of his own bitter medicine.

Josh, I think you missed mentioning, that the whole point of flight reviews is to help airlines improve their product. How else would an airline know that the product they offer is one of the "best in the world" if everyone only present the good to the company? Perhaps Qatar Airways want to wait until the ratings and public perception of the airline diverged so much, that ridership plummets. Even then, the airline would struggle to figure out what went wrong because they would have destroyed the critical, honest feedback that they need to improve.

    • @artgreen6915
      @artgreen6915 4 месяца назад +1

Haha. As the other (so far) reply says perhaps this should be the point of reviews. Sadly not all companies see reviews that way though. At the worst end of the spectrum you'll be aware of the controversy around Amazon and other product and service reviews sometimes suspected of being fake, paid for or induced. Many companies see reviews as a game to be played and the more that behave that way, the higher the pressure on the moral fibre of others because it becomes harder to compete.
I agree with you on what reviews SHOULD be about.
Trust in reviews is now wafer thin because people suspect incentives are not fully disclosed in many cases.

Dear Josh, I am completely shocked about that. I have never heard something about this. But for myself: I was fliying since 2002 Qatar Airways and made about 16 trips with them up to 2016 in Economy and Business Class. I was always very happy with them. But then, my wife and I decided not flying anymore with them because of all negative reportings about the FIFA World Cup 2022. Also I was not agreed with AB to dispute on court with Airbus. I did not want to fly also with an airline which release so many untruth and brings so much turbulence into aviation. A country which thinks that they stand over everything with human rights etc. Your video showed me how they act with their crew and kicked them out of the company. That is not acceptable, but maybe a chance for them to switch to an airline which accepts human rights and does not put them under pressure like they hav done it right now. For all my personal friends I will show this story and then they can decide by their own if they fly them again. The main problem is that they don't accept our way of live, but on the other side we have to agree with their kind of living. Anyway thanks very much for your release (including your right of the freedom of speach in a free country where you live) and I guess you can live with the fact that your video is no longer visible for the 3 mio. We have an expression in the USA - “Turning a misdemeanor into a felony”. Qatar did precisely this. They could have apologized, cleaned up their act, ignored the video…done a bunch of things… but they decided to go nuclear. And what has it gotten them?
This is what happens when petty autocrats get power. They don’t look at criticism as an opportunity for reflection and improvement, but as an attack on their hubris and respond accordingly. I’ve always said, the biggest predictor of someone’s (be it a person, company or country) eventual downfall is their level of hubris.

His problem now is that he's turned around and demanded to be reinstated or he'll send his fans after Qatar.
This poor boy doesn't even know the number of crimes he's committing. And he admits they tried to talk him out of doing it.
I would advise him to LAWYERUP, shut up and hope he can get out of this.
He's ruined flight vlogging for every now or one day hoping to post flight vlogs as all airlines will watch this and say do we want this kind of trouble? No, of course they don't.
I hope Qatar's legal team is reviewing all of his videos and gets some indictments soon.

You’re right about the crew being exhausted, unhappy and probably underpaid that I heard them nagging about special meals on a long haul flight. My first class experience was worse than one of my economy class experiences, the flight attendant in my first class trip gave me a wrong immigration card before landing in Cairo and assured me that it was the right one when I doubted it was for me after reading the title which caused me significant delay after it was refused by the immigration officer who gave me another form and asked me to fill it and get in the line again! Incredibly brave, mate.
I flew for the first time from Dublin - Doha - Dhaka and back in the summer of 22 and it was underwhelming and frankly, logistically a less.
From delayed flights at Dublin forcing me to miss my connecting flight by 2 minutes at 1am local time. Literally sprinted across the airport for that. To trying to reschedule for the next flight in the morning (or ideally) afternoon/evening and that taking over 2 hours, before their taxi took me to the wrong hotel at 3am. The on on arrival, no where to park the plane. This latter one is more a Dhaka thing I concede. But you can imagine my humour over the 24 hours culminating in Dhaka traffic for 2 hours nearly for a 15 min trip at a quieter hour.
The food was mid. The plane to Dhaka was old as hell. But I will say the staff were nice, in particular the stewardess I got talking to on the ground at Dhaka facing me for an hour. Good friends since.
But yeah, Emirates was tenfold better experience the dozen times I made that journey or any other with them.

As a cabin crew I could only say that my heart breaks for my colleagues in Doha who lost their jobs over the review 💔 At the end of the day they didn't do anything horrible, they were just unmotivated and exhausted. Non-flyers will not understand the level of fatigue flight attendants could reach when they are overworked. It's not a crime to be tired or skip toilet checks after every customer, at the end of the day we are all just human. I hope they will find their better place to work at ✈️ ❤

      I fly 4x-10x a month. I also own businesses.
All your excuses don’t make sense. Negligence is negligence.
They did not deserve to be fired if it only happened once.
However, if it is repetitive and they have already been called out by management, then I agree that they deserved to be fired.
Your personal issues should never affect the service provided to paying customers. If it does, stay home or just call in sick.

    • @Levytska
      @Levytska 4 месяца назад +74

@Claudfoz Well they clearly got fired because of one sector and the review did not highlight any gross misconduct, just a comment on their level of motivation.
Knowing their roster patterns they could do 20+ flights per month and not in passenger seats but moving in a cabin constantly serving customers without even a proper meal break sometimes.
And by the way, fatigue is not a personal issue. It's a body's response to chronic stress and absense of proper rest caused by work overload.
I'm not looking for excuses, I just wish that people who don't do crazy shifts and physical work at their jobs would understand that cabin crew are doing their best to deliver great service utilizing available resources but at the end of the day we are not immortal and we also get tired, hungry, sleepy etc like any other human being regardless of occupation

As for Qatar, it is a country that is known for slavery. You can’t impose our own culture to theirs. You can simply get out. Why haven’t they left the job when they are in terrible conditions? Because they haven’t gotten a better opportunity from other airlines..
They are there by choice. If you choose to stay, do your job right and that includes cleaning the toilet in the plane.

    • @Levytska
      @Levytska 4 месяца назад +44

@Claudfoz they're there by choice correct. And for many it's a choice to support their families and try to make their life better. Not everybody was blessed to be born in a prosperous family. You never know what's behind a smile. It could be 5 kids, sick parent or a huge loan. And if a crew is a single bread winner for their family doing hard work they're not in a position to loose their job in such a savage way. Again, not for gross misconduct but for being a human.
No excuses though, I know that everybody has different levels of compassion towards other humans and not everybody will understand. Just supporting my colleagues here. I know how hard they work.
I wish that all your flights in the future will have super positive and energized crew. And immaculate toilets of course 😁

Lo and behold, earlier this year we had a two-leg flight with BA which code-shared with Qatar via Doha.
On the return, they brought the flight time forward by an hour, then had a delayed takeoff making us 45 minutes late into Doha, leaving only 30 minutes to make the connection to the BA flight.
On arrival in the UK, my luggage, along with about 40 others', was missing.
It took two weeks for it to be returned, having been in Doha the entire time (gosh, who would have guessed) and my case was damaged beyond use.

Reporting to management doesn’t help because I stand a risk of losing my job if I decide to raise a complaint on the treatment that I get. There’s been previous crew who got fired for trying to ask for help concerning the racism. I thought I was the problem until I started interviewing the African people who work as crew, it cannot be a coincidence that all Africans are complaining about the same issue with regards to treatment. The Supervisors on board lack support to crew and are only there to serve as hawks for the company putting unnecessary pressure on crew, and they are ready to get crew into trouble. Next time if you see an African crew on board please be kind, Africans are going through a lot in this company and no matter how cautious we try to be at the job we still get the short end of the stick. I am not surprised with what has happened to you and Qatar Airways
My wife and I had an incident over the meal service in December 2022, we were not fed as they had run out of meals
When I asked where are our meals, the cabin manager said that they have a full flight and have run out, REALLY!!!
I gave them a suggestion like anything left in business class, anything, we are on a flight to Melbourne from Doha and we need to eat
They offered us pretzels and coke, UNREAL!!!
They then said being that you are in the last row on our next service (breakfast) you will be served first, I then said can you please warm up our breakfast and we will eat that now
We were refused, not much we could do as we did not want to make a scene, Oh! btw we did not accept the pretzels we had nothing
When we got home I wrote an email to their customer service about the incident and waited over 3 months for a response, they just send us a generic response which would of been a cut & paste message, we are flying again next year and we both refuse to travel Qatar with the experience all stated above
During your video, what stuck in my mind was, you are not Sam Chui and do not get bribed, BRAVO, that is one reason I do not subscribe to him,

If I treated my staff like this, I would not deserve or expect any success.
If I treated my customers like this, I would expect to be out of business.
Although I'm not a particularly influential man, I will be absolutely certain to share this video, as well as the one you tried to have removed, to as many people as I can.
Earlier this year I considered flying with you. That will not be happening now.
When you make a mistake in business, the best thing you can do is to admit it and fix it.
I hope that for the sake of your hard working staff, not to mention your customers, that you consider doing what you need to do to make this right.
    Own it. Apologise. Fix it.
    Regards,
    An almost customer.....

So right on every count. I certainly don't think you have to be from the U.S. to understand what history has taught us: it's not the crime that destroys you. It's the cover-up.

@@eisbeinGermany It has nothing to do with money. I'm all about money, but I still know how to treat people.
If you're saying that Muslims don't know how to treat people well, that, I can believe more.

@@jasoncatt lol ok, yes i maybe said it in the wrong order, but i still think it goes about money for the airline, big profit with the least payouts to staff and crew, but Arab countries do not have any basic human rights and one can see it in this video, everyone will have a different opinion on my comment

@@jasoncatt Glad you've taken this stance. As an alternative to Qatar what others are you looking at? Singapore air perhaps?

Thank you for the review, Josh. I support for what you are doing 👍. I am not surprised with their management that is full of craps, mafia and corruptions, just like what they did in the last world cup. Take care and be careful, Josh ❤
