Thank you, Sam. I was on that flight-first row in Business. I thought I saw you. I was watching the incident but didn’t know what happened until I watched your video. After the incident, the flight manager/purser came to my seat to apologize. I told her no need to apologize, I’m just glad she and the crew dealt with the guy while the plane was on the ground. The great thing is that Fiona won and gets even stronger. If she decided to speak with a doctor this would have been completely ok. But flying exactly this flight and not making a pause shows the unruly passenger: He is not on control. Police was also great. Came on large number to show force.
She's a 'keeper' Sam. The other recent high stress Cathay event was the aircraft that went U/S (CDG-bound from memory). Everything had to be sealed and transferred to a replacement. Hardly a common occurrence, but everyone handled the situation as if they had just done a simulation in training.

Mr. Chui, thank you for sharing this surreal documentary that had such a personal impact. It was so informative and important that travelers be made aware of the nature of air travel. Ms. Fiona has nerves of steel and a strong constitution! She defines "toughness" and courage!
I am sorry Sam for the incident with your girlfriend. I had one near-miss experience just three weeks ago with one passenger on the Ethiopian Airline flight from Capetown to Addis Ababa. I went to the washroom and when done, I decided to have a chat with Cabin Crew at the back galley. They are friendly human beings and go through a lot of hard work serving passengers. I appreciate them. One passenger from economy class came up and I could tell he was a bit drunk. He asked one of them to take a selfie with and she politely declined the request. The man started to get a bit aggressive and wanted to force the situation. That's when I decided I had seen enough. I stood between him and the crew and told him to respect her privacy. If she didn't want it, that's it. The guy looked at my physique and was intimidated, so he stopped and quietly got back to the cabin. They need all kind of protection. And I hope you and your girlfriend will have beautiful years ahead.
Congratulations Sam! She’s a keeper. Don’t let the negativity from Josh & Noel affect you. You are bigger than those clowns. Keep up the great content.

Sam, I have to apologise, when I first saw Josh’s video about your feud, I have to admit you weren’t our household flavour of the month, however your clear clarification and passion on that video made us saw you on a different light. Onwards and upwards for you Mr Chui! Wish Fiona and you every happiness.
I have been involved in a similar incident on a TG 747 flight SYD to BKK where an Italian economy passenger went crazy with anger. The man punched a male crew member in the head for telling him not to smoke onboard. This incident then escalated and myself & a few other male passengers, along with crew helped to restrain the passenger using the hand restraints kept onboard. We were over half way to Thailand and the flight continued. On arrival in BKK the aircraft was met by Police & authorities and he was removed before others could disembark. I was asked to detail a written report as I had witnessed the assault. I later found out this male passenger never continued his journey BKK to FCO & spent time in custody.
Don't you understand that women don't need to be rescued from every situation!? And since when has violence solved any problems, never! and she handled the problem very professionally.
@@fredrikhotanen2580 you are right about women not needing to be rescued from every situation. But if a man won’t step in when the person he loves is being attacked physically, what situation will cause him to intervene? The guy on the flight was not being verbally abusive, he was being physically abusive. Huge difference. And credit to Sam’s girlfriend for the way she handled it.
@@jehusaunders8482 Well, every situation is different, and don't forget that she is trained to deal with troublesome passengers. And what can Sam do when he's not with her on a flight like this!? Nothing, and I don't think this was her first time with a trublesome pasenger or?
@@jehusaunders8482 Sam found out after the incident. He wouldn't have been in trouble if he'd been standing right there and restrained the passenger immediately as he would have been assisting in keeping the crew out of harm's way (let's not forget that we need every crew member healthy and in one piece as they are the ones fully trained in the safety and emergency procedures for the aircraft). If he'd jumped the guy in retribution after the fact, he would have been in deep, deep shit. That lack of self-control would be bad enough as a regular passenger but it would be far worse if he's flying on his partner's passes because she is entirely responsible for his conduct onboard. Not only would he be thrown off but SHE would also face discipline for what he did upon returning home. On a personal level, that would also say a LOT about one's character because let's face it, what's done is already done so you're not "stepping in and intervening" as you mentioned. You aren't actually "defending" your girlfriend at this point. The sad reality is that you're just mad that you weren't in the right place at the right time. You didn't get to be the hero. You feel as though your "manhood" has been taken away from you and the only way to get it back is by physically assaulting the person most responsible. This is not the way.
@@TunnelJumper I have to disagree, if you find out someone assaulted your girl especially on a closed confined space like a plane, you should go confront them, you can't just sit around and film the dude and do nothing. There's no guarantee he doesn't get up and assault her again. You should at the very minimum let him know that type of behavior doesn't fly (no pun intended) and there will be further consequences if he tries it again. Sam is a gentle, jovial, kind hearted person, which is commendable, however, sometimes as a man you have to be ready and willing to be aggressive and defend yourself and or your loved ones. I could be wrong but Sam doesn't seem like that type of guy and dare I say it, he's soft. The world is a dangerous place, and the reality is no one is coming to save you, you have to be your own first responder and be capable of violence and able to defend yourself and loved ones. I mean no disrespect to Sam, but he is soft and I hope he see this as a wake up call to start training and get himself fit enough to counter a threat if need be. The goal is always avoid confrontation, but sometimes the reality is you can't.
Hi, Sam, It is really neat to see you on the flight as a passenger, and your girlfriend as a flight crew. It is so nice to get to know your personal aspect of your life. Cathay Pacific is a wonderful airline: punctual and very organized, and the food is not bad either. I was a passenger going to Singapore, and another time to Bangkok, Thailand, departing from Toronto, Canada via Anchorage, Alaska connecting from Hong Kong onwards to my destinations. Luckily, out of 30 years of travelling to different parts of the world, I never encounter unruly passengers on any of the flights, and never got my luggage lost either. Keep up your informative and experiences in air travel!
I currently work in Aviation Security in Adelaide and I made the comment to one of the flight crew from Emerates that you would have to have a very unique pickup line to even get a second glance from Air Crew as they have heard just about every pickup line known to man. She just smiled and nodded. Keep up the great content.

Congratulations to both of you! I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Sam for your incredible passion and consistency in sharing insights about the aviation world. Through your lens, we gain a deeper understanding of the behind-the-scenes stories that shape the industry. It's people like you, who are driven by passion and love for what they do, that make aviation even more fascinating.
She is very nice Sam ! I hope she is well physically and psychologically after the incident. God bless you both ! Hugs from Brazil !
Awww no 😢
I hope your girlfriend is okay. Never wish that upon any crew members. Regardless of airlines. The job is hard, but always worth it as a fellow crew member to be able to see a lot of things around the world ❤. Sending love to your FA girlfriend ❤❤❤
Oh! She’s okay and she fine.
Sam, All The Best to you & Fiona. May both have many wonderful memories, happiness, success and blessed years ahead. You both are such a beautiful couple❤️❤️
Thank you for the video. I was a flight crew in JAL. It recalled me a lot memories. Your girlfriend is very professional and a responsible senior staff in-flight. We are so happy to see you two flying together. add oil ❤
I hardly comment and the way the ground staff escorted him . He will be barred from coming again on cathay.. Your gf is a really trooper and professional. Hats off to you and your gf.. safe travels..
Hey Sam! What an amazing video! It’s so great to see you and Fiona together. I liked the behind-the-sences video of this Triple Seven flight and the hardworking crew - what a dedication. 💪✈ But I am really sorry to hear about that incident; it's truly unacceptable. As an avgeek, my heart jumps with excitement whenever I board a plane. ✈ Flying is such a miracle and a source of endless fascination! Wishing you both many more incredible flying adventures, with any problems staying far below. Safe travels! ✈❤
Thanks Sam for sharing a bit of your personal story… The negative side of cheap flights is that you have Idiots who can now travel. I was cabin crew in 2000, and I would not be a crew again in this current life🙏🙏blessings to you GF
So sorry to hear she was assaulted by the passenger. Hope he gets a life ban and some time in jail
You’re right! He will be banned from flying Cathay Pacific for life. No fly list permanently!
Banned from one airline fly another...
Sorry to see the incident but she’s a strong woman.
All the best to both of you ❤
He should've been banned from flying just for wearing that god awful toupée.
Not assault but battery.
This video is absolutely lovely. Your girlfriend is splendid all around, and just the vibe of the video places it miles above your competitors. Honestly, I found you somewhat unwatchable years ago, and then slowly came back and enjoyed so many fabulous videos, and this one is just the best. @15:49 - US cabin crews need to learn this.
despite the incident of the unruly passenger, this might be my favorite video of you Sam. so sweet to see Sam and his girlfriend. thanks for the video.
Okay Sam, you and Fiona are a match made in heaven!! I am a retired flight attendant, and you are so right. You gravitate toward those who speak the language and love the skies!
Sam, Im sure a lot of people here share the same sentiment, but we are truly sorry this happened to Fiona. I’m sure like the professional she is, she handled it with gace and dignity and showed the level of experience she has. Nevertheless, these type of incidents should NEVER happen. So glad it was resolved and u guys were able to make it w no further issues. You look so happy w her. Many blessings to you both 🥰
Sam … that was a really touching video-vlog of flight 880 - your girlfriend was SO endearing and made it such an unique and personal adventure - thank you for sharing that with us all!! May you and Fiona be blessed with a wonderful future as husband and wife and prayerfully little ones as well! 🙏
What was the negativity about? I am new here.

Glad she is ok Such a cute couple💗
20+ yrs of flying experience 😮.....wow...... she is quite senior......and how apt for Sam to have found a fellow aviator as a partner....👍
Sam is also 40+
The way Cathay dealt with this was so professional. I would like to fly with them some day! ✈️
Your girl friend is a professional. Class act! Handled that real well. Not sure I would be so calm if it was my significant other!
Sam, love your new video style. Showing a lady(girlfriend) doing her hair.....😂😂😂😂. Seriously, good to see both of you are happy! So important! JP Porto
Today's video was so special, U know why, congratulations for both of you, all the best and wishing you both a happy journey together in life
Love the way you get worried for your girl
She is as professional as she is beautiful. You've got excellent taste. Best wishes to you both, and thanks for sharing. Bless you both.
Love her❤ she is so calm . That's what we need ppl like her in all flights 🙏🌹👍
I’ve watched so many flight videos but this ranks way up there. Im glad she’s ok. Loved the sharing.
PS you both look very sweet together ;)
Good on ya Sam. Love your videos and it's awesome to see you proud with your GF. stoked she works with Cathay and ONE WORLD. Your aviation vlogs are Number 1 regardless of the crap that's just been going on. Keep smiling and keep flying bro✈️🛫🛬
A touching one this one Sam and great to see you both together and happy. Glad that eventually the long flight ended well. Love to see more of your journeys together. You still didn’t miss to review the flight as well - great 👍
Omg so sorry that happened to Fiona, she is a professional for sure. You guys are so cute together!
What a beautiful story, congratulations Sam she is a wonderful lady. Well done Fiona and Cathay are so so lucky to have a great employee.
Sam, I have to apologise, when I first saw Josh’s video about your feud, I have to admit you weren’t our household flavour of the month, however your clear clarification and passion on that video made us saw you on a different light. Onwards and upwards for you Mr Chui! Wish Fiona and you every happiness.
back story?
@@colelje ..........why not just simply watch the videos for yourself..............?
Sam you have a lot of self control because if that happened to my girlfriend, the police would be coming for me.
There is nice personal touch in this video, and great professionalism shown by your girlfriend and her crew. Thanks for sharing, Sam!
Hi, Sam, It is really neat to see you on the flight as a passenger, and your girlfriend as a flight crew. It is so nice to get to know your personal
aspect of your life.
Bro 😂 that is literally a pickup line
What an unbelievable jerk!! I seriously hope they put that guy in jail for the night at least!
Absolutely love Fiona's accent. Hong Kong/Australian accent is the best thing ever IMO.
She's so cool while doing her job! I'm officially Fiona's fans ❤❤❤
I’m so glad that you were with her on this flight. So she need not feel so alone facing the shock. My heart goes out to her. You got a gem there! ❤
How freaking cute is this????? Sam thanks for sharing. I remember her on the Cathy HQ video. I’m happy for you both. May God Bless both of you in your travels and in your burgeoning relationship.
🙏🏾❤️🇨🇳
Sam I love your videos. So happy for you & Fiona, funny, it was on a Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong to LA almost 20 years ago, I learned how to eat soup with chop sticks...I'm glad your girlfriend is feeling better. Love to you both from Canada♥♥
Bruh she's a keeper!!
Kudos to Fiona and team for handling the aggression with such calmness, and to go on as per BAU thereafter.. And thankful that she's ok.
睇到兩位好幸福❤️ 祝你地永遠幸福快樂!估唔到機上會發生咁唔理想既事,機組人員真係好多時會遇到唔同既特別情況,辛苦佢地每一位
اللہُ اکبر
Im glad she is ok! i hope that he is charged for assaulting her!
Hello SC and Family. Enjoy the video and flight. Thank God for your protection. God Bless You. Loved It!!
That passenger was a coward. Hope she pressed charges
Not likely... No serious injury.. Hkg isn't as litigious😮😮
A simple blacklisting of that pax by Cathay will do.
@@teeteetuu94exactly what I thought! He will be banned from flying Cathay Pacific for life. No fly list permanently!
Most likely he will be banned by the airline
Sam, so sorry to hear what happen to your precious girlfriend… She seem to be a wonderful person and I pray you guys have Best Wishes in life!!!!
Well done to Fiona for dealing with an incident like that.
It's such a shame that some passengers (not all), are like the one we have seen on this video. It great that you've shared this as I hope people see this and think about how not to behave. At the end of the day, crew members are there to assist passengers in having a smooth and comfortable journey as well as keeping us safe during it.
