TSN's Leafs panel discuss the frustration Toronto showed in the game, how Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak continue to show up when it matters for the Bruins, and more.

These guys are basically celebrities that are great at hockey. They use the regular season to pad their stats to cash in big paydays. In result, that gets them to the playoffs where they play the same regular season brand of hockey and peace out early to enjoy their lives of luxury for a few months until the next season starts again. It also doesn't help having a fan base and hockey media that each year over hypes them and tries to sell everyone on the idea that they are magically a true contender after getting a depth player over the summer. That enables these guys to keep doing what they're doing year after year knowing the media and fans will keep pumping their tires instead of holding them accountable for more than two weeks after they're bounced from the first round. Celeb's on skates milking whatever they can.

Leafs are a good skilled team for regular season which keeps fans in seats. But to win playoffs against Boston require more than skills. You need to get bruised and come out with the puck in the corners and along the boards. That means sactifice. Domi was the only guy willing to do that last night. Rest of them are chokers. Look at tavares, what a sando.

“Hurt the legacy of this group”? What legacy? Their consistent underperformance? Their inability to get up for big games? Their reluctance to play as if they really want to win? The Shanaplan has been a disaster. Dubas’ salary structure has crippled this team for years to come. They’re a mid-level team who get consistently outplayed and out-coached when the games matter. • @biffstrong1079
    @biffstrong1079 15 дней назад

Well not as devastating as 2013, 4-1 lead in the third and lose in overtime. Basically resulted in the dismantling of that version of the team.
The Gretzky Loss was worse of course but only cause no one has gotten past it.
The Leafs had a 3-2 lead on Boston in 2019 and then lost 4-2 and a pitiful 5-1 in the final game versus Boston .
This version of the Maple Leafs has produced a lot of really terrible playoff hockey. They are the team that lets the other team have their amazing Stanley Cup playoff moments.
They Lost 4-3 to Columbus on OT in Game 3 in 2020 after putting up a 3-0 Lead. Pierre Luc Dubois had his only moment of greatness scoring a hat-trick including the overtime winner to win the game 4-3. Joonas Korpisalo shut out the leafs twice in that series in game one and in the clinching game 5.
The Leafs had a 3-1 lead in games versus a weak offensive Habs team in 2021 and lost the last three games of that series. Two in overtime and the last one a pitiful 3-1 fold at home.
Up 3-2 on Tampa Bay the next year only to lose in seven.
Next year They won a series but then got swept at Home to lose in 5.
That first 4-2 loss in Toronto was unforgivable.
So yes this game at home where they lose 4-1 is bad but it's just a tiny part of the rich tapestry depicting the story of this over paid, underperforming team.
One of the worst losses Sure, but it's in the mix with a lot of competition.

I don’t understand why the leafs can’t figure it out. They don’t look at what other teams do and works out for them. Instead they beat to their own drum and it’s not in tune clearly.
Other teams when goaltending is a problem, address it. This was actually done when Anderson was in net but they didn’t address the next point.
Defense. Does it need to be elaborated on? This hasn’t been addressed for the Leafs in about a decade now. Year in year out, soft defense, poor coverage yet band aided during the regular season because the offense puts up 4 a game.
Veteran leadership. It’s always nice to bring guys on your team who have won it before to help guide the team on what needs to be done to get the cup, or even a deep play off run but the leafs sign, Thornton, Marleau, Tavares for example who have won a whole bunch of nothin in the playoffs.
Then you see other players like Mackinnon before he got his cup, and even after, how dialed in he is and when he doesn’t win his off-season is so set on getting back there and I feel like you don’t see that drive with AM, marner, nylander or JT.
What do I know though. I’m not a Leaf’s fan to be honest but to me it seems like the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Seems like a club that can’t get out of its own way.

This team is full of players who are passengers waiting for others to lead, they have no will to play and take themselves out of games when they have an upset stomach or a migraine. You will never win with these players and trading a part of it probably doesn't solve the core issues. I trade the whole roster if i could even if i lose each trade. These problems are not coachable or something players learn over time. They either have the will or they do not.
