  • What is it like to fly Business Class after lockdown in the UK? What changes are there, and what can we expect to see in the future of air travel?
    Following essential work travel I thought it'd get my camera out and take you guys along to document my experience of what it's like to fly British Airways Business Class at present. From empty airports through to the onboard amenities, how has everything changed, especially from a premium travel perspective?
    I also explain how I booked this flight using air miles - as cash rates for travel at the moment are through the roof.

    As someone who travelled through T5 every week, this was very informative. No lounge access?! And is the Gold or Bronze on your phone? And do you really work for NASA? Doing what? And why book a business trip on Avios (love you dropping back to ‘Air Miles’ which is what we all think 🙂)? Thanks for the view of what it’s like. Still not sure when I’ll next be travelling ... Tesco once every 2 weeks seems an adventure now! Previously SIN, US or Europe was just a regular commute!

    I just traveled in the US yesterday and what I was thinking was "this is the end of the world." It was so creepy to see empty airports, nobody in line going through security, along with so many stores/restaurants closed. We now get no alcohol service on any domestic flight in the states which I don't like at all as I'm a bit scared of flying and like a drink before takeoff. I agree about it not worth it to go in a higher class. I mostly fly first class but on this flight I went in the back as first was sold out and I thought it was safer as they don't put anyone in the middle seats. We got a plastic bag with a bottle of water inside, cheese crackers, and a kind bar. It was strange that we never saw the flight attendants after that. Overall felt safe but it really brought it home how awful it is now and wonder if everyone will recover. Thank you for sharing your travel.

      Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Super surreal seeing airports as they are at present especially when comparing it to usual times. Absolutely, but since filming this I have already started to see airlines increasing their levels of service and some even still offer full service (such as Qatar and Etihad). Good to hear you had a safe flight, and I'm optimistic on a slow yet steady recovery to the industry.

    We are hopefully flying In October from Phoenix to London Heathrow, two hour layover, then to Nice. I am unclear about the quarantine thing - are we able to transfer through Heathrow directly to our flight to Nice, without quarantine? Nice video. The (understandably) reduced service, lack of lounge access and priority boarding makes Club Europe a waste of money. That’s one very expensive pack of crisps! As for travel, I will continue to travel and have already done several short haul sectors within Europe. But the fun has almost been sucked out of it. Airport ghost towns, closed lounges, masks everywhere and everyone’s generally sullen expressions has made travel something to endure rather than relish for me.

    In Western Australia, our mining industry keeps the aircraft flying. Mining is BIG in WA.
    Basically FIFO (Fly In Fly Out) travel has actually INCREASED dyuring COVID-19, this is due to still having to get the same amount of staff to minesites, but with social distancing, the mining companies have had to schedulte extra aircraft to carry the same amount of passengers each day. This has now gone back to normal as social distancing is nearly over (Western Australia has not have many new cases in many weeks, we closed the border with other states and countries, and only have maybe 30 active cases at the moment 25/07/2020). Victoria and New South Wales... are totally out of control due to protesters forming mass gatherings and refusing to wear masks... Our own little version of the USA...

    I enjoy your videos greatly. I agree there's no point in paying for Club at the moment, since I'm sure there's plenty of space in Traveller.
    Very disappointed in the final actions of Willie Walsh at IAG, firstly buying 200 Boeings for a EUROPEAN airline, and also how the fantastic BA staff are being sacked and then reinstated on worse Ts and Cs. I'm looking at other choices of airline now, even if they cost more and involve several sectors.

I've not flown since Covid-19 came along , cancelled my flights RT from California to Minnesota 1 airline refunded my ticket fare in 11 days the other airline says it could take up to 2 months before they refund my other ticket not sure when I will be flying again .

    9000 Avios PLUS £120 for the round trip LHR - GLA! This is why we don't use Avios for BA flights. Come to think of it, we don't fly BA. We stage through Europe or the Middle East to Asia and Australasia. Better fares, better service and no cr*p passenger tax: APD.

    • @Trektrendy
      @Trektrendy  3 года назад

      Ordinarily I’m the same, especially utilising their multi partner award chart. But seeing as the cash rate for GLA was over £800 I feel this was actually great value for a redemption. Comparatively I think my 12 hour JAL F flight from LAX > NRT cost me just £90 in taxes/fees. We really do have it bad departing LHR
