I’ve just got back from New York on Virgin Atlantic’ brand new A350. I’ve tried out their new Upper Class suites (which is their newest business class product) and I’m pretty impressed! It’s a massive improvement over their last business class, and it’s interesting to see what they’ve done with their A350. Especially as I’ve recently flown the Qatar A350 Q suites.

Thanks for this review. I've flown Virgin 3 return trips and they've all been in Upper Class on the B789. I've enjoyed all of them and the crew and service is always amazing. The seats in the B789 are really hard; however they are slightly wider than the product on the A350. I know many people don't like not being able to see out of the windows, but I don't mind it. For the majority of the flight you're above clouds so there's nothing really to see. As for the Qatar A350 window shades: they're cute, but don't block light which is what I use a window shade for. I'm currently in London and will be flying Virgin again this month or late September and it will be on an A350. My flight will be over 11 hours to LA. I'm not sure if I want to fly Premium or pay the bit extra (with miles) for Upper Class. The meal and drink service won't be the same as it was pre-pandemic so I'm still trying to decide if I want to spend the extra money on Upper Class. Though from what I've heard, it'll be better than what BA is currently providing in Business, which is a sandwich in a box! (I know from experience in May.) Thanks again.

A vast improvement and the JFK Lounge looks like a real highlight.... the billion dollar question - is the BA Club Suite better?
The loft is a space that seems lost and on aircraft where space is at a premium this could have been better used i.e. the bar. My immediate thoughts were that the cabin looked a bit IKEA with the white plastic suites but you killed any fears that I had with the Assurance that it was comfortable which is the most important thing.

Absolutely, quite why the got rid of the bar is beyond me. Yes the seats were comfortable and that is indeed the most vital for a mid/long haul flight.

I think the traditional shutters are the best at blocking light.. the new ones block only half the light coming in

Enjoyed your review. Very informative. That business class interior looks sharp! the "loft" looks pretty lame and why bother- I can't picture passengers socializing there.
Thank you David - it's such an improvement over the existing hard product. I feel it's a shame they've lost the bar as that was such a cool feature of their Upper Class. I've got a review of their existing product coming in the next couple of days, which is interesting to contrast
It's now 2021 and even with COVID the Manchester-Florida still gets the short end of the stick. Stuck with the outdated A330-300 whether you fly to Orlando OR Atlanta. If you want to try the 350, you HAVE to go out of London. Even THAT wouldn't tempt me to go to the U.S. through Heathrow and then on to Manchester.
Great video! Am I correct in saying that you had your meal in the loft? If so where did you place your food while you ate it? I didn't see any tables there like in the Dreamliner's bar area. From what I can tell after watching your video I would prefer the Dreamliner's bar layout over that of the A350 but the A350's seats look to be quite the upgrade. We are flying upper class to Orlando soon, I’ve seen in other videos the seat that face away from the window, with the ‘footstool’ that turns your seat into a bed. I am really hoping we can get these suites over the bed seats I’ve mentioned above.
Nice balanced video. First long haul trip post covid nightmare for us on the horizon in March.... on the VS A350 in UC. Fingers crossed. Just out of interest, why do you call the cabin crew, air staff?
The cabin and seats look nicer on the A350 than the B787. I would definitely opt for the A350 now that Virgin have put it on the LHR to LAX route aswell
Currently doing this route in this class for £996. Seems like a bargain.

As someone else said below, Virgin's interior looks like Ikea flat pack furniture. It just looks cheap.
Mmm...those were the days. The loft was very basic compare to the bar. They should have place an electric door which can be closed.

Not impressed! I like the Dreamliner much better than the AirJunk 350 and I’m sure the 777x will blow this piece of shit out of the water!!!
Out of interest what was it that you didn’t like about the A350?
Trek Trendy I feel like they are underpowered or under winged. They take forever to leave the runway. I hate the cheap interiors especially on the Virgin and Delta. 787 seemed to have a larger overall seat and was way more comfortable. Just looks cheap! I don’t like them!!!
