- Today we're flying upstairs on the British Airways 747 from Chicago to London in their Business Class. This is one of BA's last flights of which they operated the 747,

I've always dreamed of flying upstairs on the 747, when I was a younger I wondered of what it was like up those stairs. Today I'm going to show you exactly what it's like to fly in BA's Business Class, which they call Club World. There are two areas of Business Class on British Airways' 747, downstairs in a 2-4-2 layout or the preferable and far quieter 2-2 upstairs. I will share with you what the seats are like, where is best to sit, the food, drink and what it's like to sleep on.

OMGGGGGG! When we moved from Guildford, Surrey to Chicago, I flew on a 747!! Loved this video!
Oh man this was on my bucket list for so long and I’m still gutted BA retired the fleet prematurely over covid. Sad times indeed… Great video though.

Such a shame to see her go. Intending to fly the remaining 747s next year, lining up Lufthansa and Korean Air on their 787-8s. Haha all about balance, lots of running 😂

It’s a shame they retired the 747 after clearly updating the inflight entertainment screens etc.

The BA business class seat is very old, they want to put in as many seats as possible in a limited space. Would not choose BA if it is not because of direct flight.
You’re not alone in this thought - for many it represents an uncompetitive and dated product. I for one find it’s fine at the right price where there are few realistic alternatives on North American routes. Have you tried their new club suite yet? Those are leaps ahead
Trek Trendy I have not tried their club suite yet as my travel is mainly between LON and Asia. I like Qsuite, and I feel BA CS is a similar hard product. The service I would say QR is definitely better in my opinion.
Huge fan of QR - in fact I’m back on QSuites in a couple of weeks. It’s definitely up there with the best overall J product - hard to beat that especially at the price over time Asia. Soft product is fab too you’re right, I do find often though that cabin crew are less personal on QR
Trek Trendy a couple of weeks to where? I am curious. I want to travel anywhere towards east, but nowhere in Asia at moment is accepting tourists. I’m feeling too bored due to lockdown, just want to fly to somewhere in Asia.
I’m in Istanbul for a work commitment and am flying back via Doha (crazy I know!) but like you I miss flying so much! Should be interesting to experience as I’m aware they have kept service to the usual high standard (full dining offered etc) plus improved champagne to LP now

They do like to jam them in, don't they! I would pay no more than Premium Economy for that seat and accept the catering by way of an apology. It's an embarrassment. I bet the ME3 are wetting themselves at this. Sadly, it has a similar version on the current layout of the 787. I call it the Soixante-neuf lay-out. 🤷♂️🤷♀️

BA business seats are the worst in the airline industry. The stool it's awful and facing the other passenger it's a NO GO. BA should really refurbish all its fleet and go for a more proactive crew customer service.
I better fly JAL Sky Suite, SAS, FINNAIR, ANA for better comfort, service, privacy and price.
O I can think of far worse J products. Personally I’m a fan of BA’s existing business class if travelling with a friend or partner. If solo flying you just need to ensure you get a direct aisle access window seat (there are several). I’ve had some of the best inflight crew experiences on BA and find their staff generally fantastic
