- We're still reminiscing about the farewell flight of the 747 earlier this month.
As a tribute, this we've put together a short video to commemorate the British Airways #BA747Farewell.
She shall be missed by all of us at Heathrow. Farewell old friend, truly the #QueenOfTheSkies!

Never be the same seeing a BA 747 at Heathrow
I can't believe that I would feel so emotional about a machine! What is wrong with me?
I flew back from Miami on G-CIVE last year as I knew that they were up against time. So glad I did
What a trooper. Many a good flight taken and remembered. Wish I could have been in London for the fond farewell.

The company should at least keep a 747 on its fleet for special occasions, for each 3 months 2 or 3 flights to main worldwide hubs and main holidays such as Christmas and New Year's day.
That wouldn't cost a thing.

Thank you, Heathrow Airport. I have always missed the 747 in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. It's very hard to miss. I have a passion to be on G-BNLN in 2018 before retirement in 2019. Is there any way we can do to make it hard to miss?

Memories, not all of them had the same british airways livery, but will be remembered.
Must have been sad to see them leave knowing they'd never pass that way again. The music in the video clues me to this. I'm actually crying and I've never flown as a passenger on one of these planes. They are beautiful planes, though? Tell me please. What will become of these planes? Surely, they won't become scrap! I'd hate to think that would happen to these beautiful planes.

Why can they no longer be used? Was there a problem with them? Or???
They were originally set to retire in 2024. However, due to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Pandemic, it had them accelerate it to 2020.
May the Queen of the Skies rest in eternal aviation peace...
