      Taking a look at 1A50 12.48 Holyhead - Euston last Friday compared to times from
      This Friday, it appears there’s no change in travel time. That might be down to reduced dwell times at stations en route though.

    I look forward to trying those, but I hope "firm" doesn't become painful after 20 minutes, the GWR trains from Paddington to Reading are ok for that time, but anything longer would be nasty

      Personally, the firmness didn’t really affect me, and I didn’t get up with a sore bottom. But ive also personally never had this issue with the previous 80X. I think the rest of the IXT team would agree here. It depends on how others feel! Go for a ride and see what you think! The team and I would all be happy to hear your feedback!       Honestly how hard is it to design a soft comfy train seat.
      The intercity 125 and 225 had perfect seats. Why is there this whole trend of firmer seats. They are just super uncomfy!!!

    Avanti IET's just seem better built and more well thought out. I hope GWR will eventually upgrade theirs to match one day.

      Properly specified unlike most the 80x fleet plus they will know from past design flaws where improvements where required

      They are built to a different standard. However GWR IETs have seemed to have gone through some modifications as their IETs are seemingly much more sturdy and smoother to travel on! Thank you so much for joining us! We hope to see you again!

      @@IntercityXtravellers Remember, many were specified to be EMUs. Then the OHLE upgrades got cancelled and had to hastily have diesel generators installed. This led to all sorts of problems in the beginning of service.

    Class 805 cannot go 125mph on WCML - the maximum speed for non-tilting trains is 110mph.

      Multiple units will soon be able to go at a maximum speed of 125mph on the WCML within the next few months, regardless of tilt. The new signage is in place but bagged over until the new limits are introduced. Rugby-Coventry and Penkridge-Stafford are already 125mph non-tilt.

      ​​@@ajtrainsIn theory, if the signalling was upgraded to in-cab on the Trent Valley, the trains could even reach a speed of 140mph on the fast lines. Also, in order to get to 125mph, non-tilt, some sections of track have been reworked.

      Much down to them not being able to
      Tilt. It’s as Scottish Crew, to our knowledge, haven’t been trained up on them. This could change in the future as the units themselves are cleared or part cleared for Scottish routes. Thanks for viewing!

    If they go to Scotland, we should see English and Scottish Gaelic.

      To be fair, Welsh is an officially used language in England, so they're required to use it. In the same way you can sit your driving test in Welsh if desired (even anywhere in England), this is because wales is (from a parliamentary standpoint) effectively an extension of England, as the Welsh Assembly has very little power beyond finances, unlike the Scottish parliament. Scotland however is the only place where Scottish Gaelic is officially spoken, so as an English operator they have no requirement to use it, even though it would be nice.

      No the pendolinos are staying on Avanti west coast they won’t retire any time soon the 805s and 807s are only replacing the 221 voyagers

      Fast likes throughout. Running at 110 throughout the Majority of the journey I believe

    The Avanti West Coast Class 805 are very nice. I guess that the Class 807 will also be the same apart from it would be electric only.

    where you caption saying about they were not traveling at high speed. ANY nontiliting train is limited to 110MPH on the west coast.
    And specifically where that caption was placed the line speed is 90MPH

      You can take a short run with loco hauled stock between Crewe and Manchester with the TfW loco hauled trains. Those are basically IC225 coaches just hauled by a class 67 diesel.

    I hope they get the Welsh announcements right. Some of the announcements on TfW’s trains are grammatically wrong, and will drive you nuts if you know the language!

I did suck my teeth at 1:56 at “i’r gwasanaeth yma” but I did check the Geiriadur Prifysgol Cymru and it says that “yma” is OK for “this” when it follows a noun that’s preceded by the definite article (“‘r”), though I might’ve preferred to miss out the article and say “i gwasanaeth hon”.

      Here’s the response to
      Your question:
      1. We have personal lives at IXT, be it myself or any other person. You don’t know our schedule or plans. We have limits. We also work. So sometimes we can’t always go as far as we’d like
      2. How do you know that we won’t be returning to travel beyond Crewe at a later? (This is indeed planned)
      3. We want to keep the videos under 20 minutes.
      4. Whilst a ticket to Chester isn’t an issue, we decide where we go and when.
      We will indeed be venturing further afield to Holyhead, but it won’t be in this video. Thanks for watching

    Achieved max of 111.18mph on EUS-STA with a average of 90.6mph. Consistently is key I guess. Although 125 would have been ace.

      ​​@@IntercityXtravellersNon-tilt trains will soon be able to reach 125mph on the line since works have taken place on the line. The main advantage to this train set is acceleration though. In theory, if the Trent Valley fast line could have their signalling upgraded to in-cab, the could even run up to 140mph on this section. From what I gather, Coventry to Rugby is 125mph ready.

      That's about 5mph slower on the average speed than a 390. I did that trip in a 390 back in February and it averaged about 95mph with a top speed of 130mph on one of the downgrades.

      Depending on the route yeah, North Wales coastal is fine with 5 cars. But between the big cities of London, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham definitely need double 805s alongside the 7 car class 807s and the class 390s.

    still Pendo will be best than these horrid and uncomfortable 800 class trains, i had to travel down cornwall to one and back from paddington, hated it.

      The seats are different on the Avanti class 805 and 807's have the same seats as the refurbished class 390's. Also the interior lights ain't as bright as on older IEP's so there are small improvements, tho it still doesn't beat the class 390's of course.

      @@a.rentertainment2232 Honestly myself the only issue i have with the voyagers is the windows that causes issues with phone signal (ive done the scotland to penzance on a ALR) however i would never travel standard class in one either seems cramped.
