FLYING in LOCKDOWN 2.0 on TURKISH New A350 BUSINESS CLASS

- As the UK and Europe go back into lockdown I find out what it’s like to fly during this unusual time. This is part of a wider work trip, but of course I’ll take you along as usual to share my experience. The end goal of today is to try out the brand new Turkish Airlines A350 which was delivered to the airline just two weeks ago. Today I’ll be comparing it directly to the 787 Dreamliner (which I’ll be flying too!) all in Business Class.
I fly on four flights during today's vlog, so it gives you an opportunity to directly compare what it's like to fly on each of these airlines during this challenging time. It's super interesting to see the variety in service from LOT and Turkish as to what they'd offer in usual times.

Great news that you will be busy entertaining us and know I will see you one day in a lounge somewhere. Compared to the other wallies Josh and Sam ,you really are great entertainment and knowledgeable but some of us also have 5675 block hours on commercial flights over many years and I worked in China and flew on all their carriers 67 times in 2 years and were safe and interesting but all autopilots and landings at 1000ft manual so their skills are somewhat average to me. Great video. That looks like a very decent seat. I’m not a huge fan of Turkish Airlines after too many mediocre experiences in Business. The best thing about the new Istanbul airport is the Turkish Airlines lounge, there’s some serious walking involved haha.

Another great vid!👍🏻✈️I’m due to fly Turkish Airlines business class to Istanbul (and return) for the Champions League Final at the end of May (2021)....it should’ve last May but the Champions League was re-formatted, as you probably know. Wow.. onboard camera is cool.. I want to know what happens now to travel on Turkish Airline after the UK has announced about the new variant. My original flight was cancelled (PAL) so I'm about to travel next week from Heathrow via Turkish airline and this is helping me but I am still worried regarding covid testing and whatnot..if you are travelling again soon..we need another of your vlog:)

Thank you so much for watching! And the hotel was the Curio Sofia Mansions, i'd whole heartedly recommend it, it's one of the best properties to stay in Istanbul and competitively priced.
Does TK has 2 different biz class seat set up for the A350? I noticed on other review videos that "true" window seats are located on the odd numbered rows while this one was actually the even numbered rows?

Well, atleast they brought you plastic cups. On my turkish flight from IST to ZRH in Business I had to drink my redwine straight out of the bottle... Its a new experience to feel like a alcoholicaddicted on board of a airplane.
Wait a second.... Compare this to Singapore's Airlines 787-10 aircraft seats, notice how the seats looks the same just the colour differences with Turkish airlines.
Really you are the best reviewer and natural and authentic. Some of us have to stay home in Australia and hard to justify to leave even if we have jobs overseas so many of us are very experienced travellers but enjoy your reviews. Loved the word to laugh at yourself (wally) as I used that term ny times when working in HK and the locals never understood it but they were lol.
Anyway, keep up the good work and entertainment and have many safe travels.
ps If you fly in Europe , an ex Australian colleague flew A320s for Wizz Air and was ex Australian air force and safety conscious and he said Wizz were outstanding in this regard even though a LCC just like Ryanair pilots.

Have actually flown Wizz extensively in the past (previous gf was based in Poland so went backwards and forwards a lot on Wizz) It's solid all things considered as long as you adhere to all their policies.

So sad that all you get for the business class fare is a nice seat and sub-par catering.
It's such a shame, I feel that they could at least make more of an effort for the catering, I understand a revised offering but a cardboard box of below average snacks is just not on
@@Trektrendy I wonder how much of this is the airlines wanting to save costs, how much is the airlines making their own decision to do it for Covid and how much is governments forcing them to change (I know there are some governments that are definitely forcing change)

I use a Rode wireless go for the lav mic, and a Rode NT USB mic. The camera I use, GO Pro Hero 8 has the media mod mic attachment.

A350 Turkish does deliver but clearly Swiss offers a more rounded experience with their wide body aircraft within Europe putting Turkish at a disadvantages. Hopefully TK will offer start to offer a full service, but otherwise I do hope to one day experience Turkish A350. PS Lot was also very impressive 👍
TK returned to the hot food service on long flights.this is good news for Europe flights

I offer a balanced review of the experience and to be fair on LOT, their short haul economy was solid
You can’t compare Iberia and BA to Turkish Airlines. If you want to compare Iberia and BA, the closest comparison is EasyJet or Ryanair.
O you absolutely can. And seeing as you've asked here's a comprehensive comparison. IB and BA provide better food at present (including in Y). In terms of hard product well.. TKs existing hard product is uncompetitive, and unfortunately represents the majority of their fleet ( we wont even talk about the middle seat on their 777 J). IB has direct aisle access though I grant you BA's Club World does not with their dated J. Saying that, you'll get a comfier sleep in BA's J than the restrictive TK J. If you bring out the big guns and compare Club Suites to TK, i'd say TK wins with their new product in terms of style and finishings though, just still damn tight sadly! Hope that helps ;)
@@Trektrendy thanks for that comprehensive response...I should have provided context. As a regular traveller for business, not in business class, but that’s a separate discussion, I used to a loyal member of BA and used to go out of my way to fly them, however since their budget airline approach but keeping their full service carrier prices I now opt to fly Lufthansa where possible. At least they provide a beverage and meal service on the house. I will even decide on the routing for my trips avoiding having to fly BA or Iberia, unless it can’t be helped.
@@bklondon75deliciousnesswit64 I think this is the issue is cost cutting has resulted in a huge amount of airlines to totally rethink their service provision. You mentioned Lufthansa, unfortunately just this week they've announced throughout the LH group (Swiss, LH, Brussels and Austrian) they'll no longer provide comp catering in eco. You should give BA's Club Suites a try, its a huge improvement. In terms of the best eco i'd have to sway towards the middle eastern carriers who seem to still offer the most for Y pax.

Such a lousy food in Business Class makes the product a lousy Business Class product. And a lousy Business Class product makes the airline a lousy airline. I, as a Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles Elite Plus member for many years already, will avoid and boycott this airline and this ripoff of the paying customers, until they return to their previous standard. In the meantime, I will fly Qatar, Finnair and Singapore Airlines.
It's such a shame to see. It's also still advertised on their website and even on their inflight display - their previous incredible food. If their price was adapted accordingly i'd understand but from a consumer perspective it provides an unrealistic expectation. And yes Finnair's food was outstanding! Thanks for watching buddy
but TK still beter than Lufthansa Group or IAG .And Lufthansa group will start selling economy food for money next year.EVEN AFTER THE PANDEMIC !!!
@@ekthex having extensively flown TK, LH group flights and IAG I have to disagree with you here. From the perspective of Business Class TK in my eyes has only been competitive on a soft product basis rather than hard. Their J is outdated, so thankfully the introduction of the 787 / 350 should slowly remedy this ( a welcome change)
Economy, buy on board is sadly becoming a norm, but remember this is for short haul flights for BA / LH group.
@@Trektrendy Business in tk s 777s and a330s may not be very good, but BA 777 has 2-4-2 business .lufthansa has a very tight business ina350 like 2-2-2. In narrow body, tk has one of the best products in europe. the new a321neo and 737max's business work is a candidate to be the best in europe.Lufthansa uses 3-3 business with the middle seat empty. In my opinion, tk at least better than lufthansa and Ba. In addition BA still uses 2-3-2 in 787 business . tk, ba and lufthansa beats 777,787, a350 and a320.sorry for my English:)
