- Husky shelf review. I purchased the Husky Heavy Duty 4-Tier Steel Garage Storage Shelving Unit from Home Depot. I needed to better organize my garage woodshop so I decided to buy a Husky shelf from Home Depot. It was easy to assemble garage storage shelves. This is a very sturdy garage shelving unit and is solid once assembled. This Husky Steel Shelving Unit measures 78 in. tall, 77 in. wide and 24 in. deep. I purchased my Husky metal garage shelves online and picked up in store. That was the easiest way to do it. Very simple and The Home Depot made the experience easy. I suggest doing that way, use the links below to purchase your shelf! If you are looking for a garage storage solution I suggest looking at the Husky shelf.
I am aware of the static in the last half of the video. I decided to go ahead and post since the first half was good and I put up a poll on the community tab and the majority wanted it posted even with the static.

Hola! 🖐 Another add to the shop AND it helps with organization!!! Good for you, I look forward to catching up to present day and get the history and background of your shop improvements. Wishing you continued growth and success!!! Take care and have a good one! Adios! 👊
Nice. Love the "thin blue line". Stay safe out there!
Thank you!
Hey bro, actually those plastic pegs go on the legs above each shelf there’s a hole where these go. There’s no actual pegs/screws for the tie channels. Just thought I’d point that out.
Ha! I'm an idiot! Thank you for pointing that out. Boy, do I feel goofy.
No worries and you’re def not an idiot🤪 nowadays, when I am building something I know I am going to make a mistake along the way and I am ok with it, most of the time those can be fixed👍🏼
The shelf units look good in your shop.
I'd like to see how you designed and built the home made shelf guides.
Love all of your videos.
Thank you. Homemade shelf guides? Oh, the drawer slides? Pretty easy. Mount 2 pieces of wood to frame and 1 piece to the drawer itself. Just make sure everything is lined up.
Nothing better than being organized. Looks great.
Thank you
Hey, I have a few of those types of messy shelves!! The new shelf looks great. Congrats on the 15K Matt!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Nice video, not as much sound issue as I was expecting from your warning.....great job as always. 👊
Really hope you and your family are staying healthy and happy during this time....take care while on the job 🙏.
Thank you! I had to figure out how to add sound filters to the audio in editing to dampen the stati quite a bit lol. Good lesson I guess lol.
Got a couple of these units yesterday. It's going to store my HDPE for PwnCNC VFD-Enclosure manufacturing, become a workbench and a X1-Carbon 3D printer rack.
How much did you spend to buy them, friends
thanks for the review. It looks sturdy enough that you could use the second shelf from the top as a workbench, if you lowered it a bit and fitted a thick plywood top instead of the wire mesh
I think you could for sure.
Looks very sturdy!!
They are great shelves.
Nice purchase, Matt. Do the wire grid shelves sag any under the weight you have put on them? Looks like (maybe) they should have provided one more cross-brace per shelf.
Thanks. If it is very heavy it will sag slightly but it has to be direct pressure. Larger items the weight is distributed enough. Another cross brace would have been ideal. I have seen people use a piece of 1/2" plywood on top of the wire to help with that.
It fit just right👍
Yes it did. LIke it was made to got here lol.
it is about time you made another video
thanks.
Yeah, I came here to find out if anyone else was curious about the missing push pins. :-) so I guess those push pins do just go on the beams. And you are totally right, they mysteriously don't provide anything for all those tie channel holes which levaaes those tie channels a bit loosely installed. I guess it leaves room to choose how you want to do that, but I was thinking of going ahead and cutting and installing a plywood shelf on one level to place over the wire rack anyway, I could use those holes and some machine screws to bolt it on. Anyway, thanks for the video!
Thank you
Hello there, good demo...question....Is it advisable to put the smart roller on the shelve for moving it around ?
Thanks. I'm not sure what a smart roller is, sorry.
I bought 2 Gladiator shelves for $139 on sale. They shipped me a free one b/c one had a defect. Great customer service from them.
awesome
This price is expensive, we have 200 kilograms of shelves on each floor, two only cost $82, if it is sold in bulk, the price can be lower
very helpful thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
The plastic part is for the outside parts to stop someone from lifting shelf
They don’t give you the bolts that go through cross beams
Get some plastic ties to secure the shelf and wire platform.... it will move if you don’t
I bought some bolts and bolted them down
Great video as always! I got two of these units and love them. I know I put them together correctly, but does anyone know why they come with a bunch of extra cross beams, (the short ones)?
There should be 12, three on each shelf
Those short ones are placed on the beam as a support column
I heard people are putting ply wood shelving on those instead of using the wire shelves.
You might wanna upload that to the HD website for reviews. 😉
👍🏻
Does anyone know how to square up this type of unit? My shelves won't go into the holes on the back side and the wire shelf is is not lining up because the shelf itself is not square. I have tried to push it on one side and it move slightly but that is it. I need more help, thanks.
When you install the beam, the height of the holes on both sides should be the same, so that they will not tilt, and if you need it, I can send you the installation drawings
Do you still have this? Can you tell me how many inches wide, in between the beams? I know it’s 77 inch for the whole dimensions. Wanting to know how wide between the beams
The length of the beam is generally about 78 inches, and the width is about 19 inches and about 23 inches.
This isnt about the video, which I loved as always. Just have to ask do you happen to have a relative in the army.
Thanks, no sir I don’t.
@@731Woodworks had to ask you look alot like one of my best friends in the army, he was also from Arkansas.
looks like a custom build ☺
Can you put casters or rollers on this unit ?
Probably so. metal base plates on the feet.
We have shelves that can install wheels, and the price is no more than $70
Do they make wheels for it ??
Don’t think so
We have shelves with wheels for sale, no more than $70
Strange, I just got one of these from the Depot and it's rated for 10k LBS.
Same dimensions, construction everything. Weird.
EDIT: Scratch that. I jus watched till the end. It was the bigger one has the higher load capacity :)
I wanted to see how the cross brace fit into the channel. But you never showed it. You spoke about it,but that negates the idea of a video.
sorry I disappointed.
