Thanks for this video! I have a LR X on order since last October with a current delivery date of September. This video (and the rest of your channel) mostly serves to make me more excited!
@@zunairmushtaq5888 nope! Delivery date has slipped to December through April next year! Pretty sure it’s because I ordered the 5 seater. We will just keep waiting.
Congratulations on your 2022 Model X! I’m picking up my 2022 Model X on September 7-11th. Your video is very helpful. I now feel much more comfortable with how to get started with driving when I pick my car up. Can you do a video on how to use what is available on the screen, and how to use the most important functions? Thanks again, and enjoy your new ride! 🙌👏👏👏👏
Wife and I have the new S and X and of course we love them... 3rd and 4th teslas for us. The one thing I wish they would/could change is the yoke should be more sensitive... or put another way, like F1 steering, less input to turn so that a U-Turn for example, could be done without hand over hand.
Yes the yoke should have a variable steering ratio that you would typically get with a steer-by-wire system that makes small movements of the yoke travel the wheels a lot at slower speeds and a little at higher speeds
Thank you for your video. I think your car is one of the best cases regarding 2022 Tesla Model X automatic door function. I also have 2022 Tesla Model X long range like you. For my car, the front door automatic close is problematic. When the door is open slightly, the door cannot be closed without manual close. Only when the door has enough gap between the door and the body to close with the automatic power, it can be closed with automatic close. Especially, when I hang around the car with automatic door function on, the door is automatically opened slightly sometimes. after tens of second later, the front door tries to close if nobody gets on the car, but it cannot be closed automatically. That means you could happen to leave your car behind without knowing the front door open in that case. I reported the problem to the service center, but the service center said that normally happens in almost all refreshed Tesla Model X and there is no solution for that problem in Tesla service so far. However, your Tesla Model X looks fine with that problem.
This was a very useful video to be sure....great! I had a MX 2020 but have now sold it so that I can take delivery of my new MX 2022 later this week.....I am very excited to see the refreshed changes.
Thank you for making this comparison video, informative as always. I agree with your statement, really not enough gains to justify the upgrade, especially if you are coming from a 21’. Also, those software gains should really be standard across the board. Seems to be all just software add-ons.
As an old Model X (2018) owner and now LR owner I would like to add a detail that is often overlooked or misunderstood. While the phone can be used as a key, as of today's date the big difference between the key fob and the phone key is that ONLY the keyfob allows the doors to open ( auto present). The key card and phone will only unlock the doors then you have to manually open the driver side door. I am hoping that in a future update the auto present feature will be applied to the phone as well. Then I can truly leave the fob at home and lighten my pocket.
100% not true. I just got my 2022 model x plaid last week. I only carry my phone and i do not even carry the key card or the key fob. The driver door automatically opens when i walk close to the car.
@@riceball777 Hmmm ok I have to check that out again because it has only opened when I have the key fob and even then it does not open every time but it has never opened with just the phone...it will unlock but not open. Maybe it was fixed in one of the 2 updates I have received since having the vehicle. I'll check and see
just got my 22 MX this week and also own an 2018 already. i paired the phone and carry the fab. i did noticed the door wouldn’t auto open and hoped they didn’t take the feature away. it’s hard to find details of all these little things but thanks to you, i now know it could be the phone key and will try approaching it with fab only. that’s one of my favorite feature of the 2018. however, is it just me, but it always seemed when i would get out and walk away when there were people around, it would dick me out and stay open lol fail. lol
@@pauljones8107 not sure if the LR is different from MX plaid but I took my MX in to address some issues and the Tesla engineers confirmed that ONLY the key fob causes the driver to auto present open.
just got my 22 this week too after ordering it feb 21. i have the 18 p100d already and the 22 rides and feels so much different, smooth and plaid is beyond retarded! love it! however the first purchase experience was perfect, the second one was and still is a nightmare with their people. you can’t get them to do anything they promised. constant run around. i ordered it with the bench originally, then after 8 months i said i’ll take the buckets if it means i’ll get it sooner, well, they turned around and charged me a 6500 upgrade meanwhile they had removed the bench as an option. so wtf was i charged an upgrade? plus other issues i’m battling them about. i think if Elon knew the service they were providing to me he would be pissed!
Thank you for sharing.I hope get my soon order my since July last year. They keep change Est. delivery 6 difference time now.As of today on my App they say end of July.
I don’t get why pre-refresh X’s can’t have most of those software upgrades. The car’s system knows whether the windows are up or down, whether in park or drive, etc, surely it isn’t difficult to modify the software to allow windows to close on lock or auto go into drive.
I believe it's a hardware limitation not a software limitation. To my understanding the issue is that the legacy X/S doesn't have the sensor to detect if someone has their fingers in the window and that is why it's disallowed to roll up.
I dont believe so, PIN to drive universal for the car, meaning it doesn't enable or disable you from accessing someone's profile it's just the pin to start driving
My suggestion is if you or someone in your family isn’t in shape then you will definitely need the bigger X model. I know someone who bought the Y and his wife is a big woman. She looks like a sardine in the Y, the amount of available seating area is much smaller than the X. She barely can get the seatbelt over her. They should have bought the X but they’re in denial how fat the wife is.
It isn't initially but since the X's are so new there's no telling if/when it will arise. From what we've learned internally, they have not implemented a fix for the issue on the refresh but have issued new parts to address it when it arises.
This X doesn’t beat my X with “free supercharging” that’s all what keeps me from not upgrading. We have a 2017 MX 100D with unlimited supercharging and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
Free unlimited changing is great, but changing significantly faster 250kw, and not being throttled are also things to consider. Free Unlimited 45-60mins from 10-90% or paid 20-35min 10-90%.
I really think they need too add the tesla air suspension to the model 3/y at least have it as an option ..that would reduce the amount of model x orders
@@BlackTesla also I think you have too drop the battery if you replace the drive motor on the model x .? all the service techs I talk too hate working on the x
On first thought, having the door close automatically sounds great,,,, and then i thought about my wife and kids having to deal with something unexpected by them to happen and thought naaaahhh 😜. I wonder if the falcon wing door's sensors have been upgraded because sometimes in ours, the sun or a phantom object would make the X wings think something is next to it and you'd have to hold down the button for it to open.
Sensors haven't been updated, same issues persist with phantom objects but that's a software issue not hardware. However, the beep needed to open the doors manually is much more pleasant and doesn't wake sleeping kids
After we each suffered a head hit, we all flinch when we hear that sound. Same sun ☀️ problem on our X, it’s embarrassing when someone wants to see it function and it malfunctions.
i just got my 2022 model x plaid last week and yes this still happens all the time. Many time will will have to hold down the button to open the back doors all the way because initially it will only open half way.
Been wanting a Model X since day one, and with every upgrade, I want it even more. I’m conflicted about getting one now since I heard there have been some discriminatory practices against workers of color at Tesla. I wonder what your take is on that; if what I heard is going on there really true and if so, if we should still be supporting Tesla and what could/should be done about the situation. Thanks, LA
From what has been decided in the courts so far, there hasn't been anything done by Tesla the company that could be described as discrimination. However, there have been instances with employees saying/doing things that are. However, this is an unfortunate by product of humans and not necessarily the fault of the company.
Of course you would attack that instead of looking at the product, I eat at McDonald’s but not anymore because they refer to a chocolate chip cookie of color and it’s racist to the sugar cookie
Homelink came standard with all teslas prior to the Model 3/Y the lower price point had Tesla remove it and It as an optional upgrade for 3/Y. I believe it's still included for S/X today
Two things that need to be added to this vehicle. It needs to go at least 800 miles on a single charge, and have a normal circular steering wheel, instead of that pathetic yolk looking one.
Coming in strong with another great video Black Tesla!
