Thanks for watching. The X is the most comfortable and spacious Tesla. Any Tesla is great and if you can't get the X the Y is the best value for the money so you can go wrong either way.
I love your reviews so much. So underrated. You cover changes no one else has mentioned and I've seen a lot of reviews.
The chime change for the falcon wing doors is HUGE. I hate that my doors often don't fully open in my garage (even with full open set - I feel like that feature doesn't work), but I'd care a lot less if it wasn't so abrasive to override it and force them open. I really hope Tesla backports the softer chime.
My June 2020 MXP had the half shaft issue. Tesla replaced them in August 2021 and I've had no further vibration issues since. The acceleration is buttery smooth. My guess is the redesigned part made it into the Plaid.
Thanks for watching! I got confirmation recently that they actually haven't fixed the issue, but instead have new parts for the fix like the ones likely on your car. Therefore, when the issue arises they just fix it then.

Unfortunately there are loads of complaints on the acceleration shudder for the both the S and X Plaids in the forums. Many that come from the factory that are shudder free experience the shudder after several hundred or thousand miles. The best way to protect the cv joints without any aftermarket lowering is to keep the height at the lowest setting whenever you're going to accelerate hard and if from a stop, use launch mode which means turning on dragstrip mode for at least that launch. You don't need to leave it in dragstrip mode to heat up for maximum performance. A cold battery will still produce enough power to warp the ball channels in the cv joints if the angle is too high. Cheetah stances lowers the front reducing the angle that cv joints are at under power.

What's your opinion on having an after market frunk power lift (auto open and close) installed? Will it void the warrantee on hood alignment or function issues?
Yes will void the warranty but should be a feature that's included for sure
Awesome review, I’m in the market for a Tesla rn and just trying to decide which one I want, and this model catches my eye a bit more than the rest haha
Congrats they are all good choices, if you have family the X is the best choice. If money is a factor get the Y as its the best value of the money. If you don't need a lot of space get the 3, and if you are a bigger person or prefer a larger car then get the S. Lastly if you have sports cars and want to consolidate them or just want the best Tesla money can buy then get the Plaid S or X.
Thx much for the review. And for such great support for me who is waiting for a plaid MX to arrive in August. I'll be trading a MS performance which I love, but it's time for us to part. Grand kids take up too much space and friends my age have trouble getting in and out of the S.
💯 congrats on the Plaid X! In addition to the added space, you will also love the additional power at low and high speed and most of all you will love the expanded power band giving you continual acceleration at the point where you MS Performance would die down.

The new front fascia gives the nose a much cleaner, more predator, more substantial look. To me it's a big improvement. The new headlights shopping with the S now today and the X in a couple months are nicely upgraded in their performance. All of the refresh seats are slightly wider. There is a bit more space in the rear trunk area since it's inside is a bit wider and has a new pocket to store things that wasn't there before. USB-C ports are a refresh upgrade. The front doors are totally different-- the button to push to open is totally different. So is the lack of swoosh with the old handles to open the door. Console is completely different from previous model with its new compartment config and dual phone charger. There are a few more speakers than previous.

Windshields?
I have a MXPlaid on order with July 2022 delivery date and live in Nassau County, Long Island. I ordered with 22" wheels but might prefer the 20" for possible smoother ride, increased range and pot hole blowout frequency. Any advise? ...but don't want to delay delivery moving back in the queue. Would a mere wheel change cause that? I might want to rent one for a week. Thanks. Nice presentation
Thanks for watching. Changes to your order MAY impact the timeline but check with your sales advisor. If nothing else you can keep the order as-is and just buy the 20s separately. If you've never driven one you should def consider renting it for a day to get familiar will make getting yours that much easier to acclimate.

1-does the car have ambient lighting in form of LED panels around the dash and the doors like some Mercedes and BMWs do? If not do you know where we can provide feedbacks to Tesla to add it?
2- is the ride as smooth as some cars in the similar price range? Like Porsche Cayenne or BMW X6?

1- No ambient lighting on the dash just on the doors. You can tweet elon that seems to be the best way for feedback to get to the top.
2- As smooth cars in the range. Maybe slightly smoother in some cases. Porsche will always have superior handling but it's not by as large of a margin as you might expect.

Thanks for watching and the sub. I would say try the yoke before you rule it out it takes some learning and unleashing but it's quite comfortable and superior to the wheel for highway driving.

With the rear not wider than the front, are the tires all the same size (front and rear) now? Getting used to the yoke steering would be an adjust compared to older Model X, especially without the stalks. Thanks for your review!!
The rear isn't wider but the tires are still staggered so if you have the 22's you get 265 in the front and 285 in the rear. The S Plaid has 265 in the front and 295 in the rear for the wider rear end

Black Tesla what’s up brother?! I had a 2021 model X performance but sold it because the a/c compressor broke and kept having cooling issues that they couldn’t fix. Do you know if the cooling system ( heating pump) has been updated to the model x refresh?
Hey sorry to hear that. I'm not sure pre-refresh X's had a heat pump, but I can say just about all of the internals of this car are new so that shouldn't be an issue. This new one just like the S has a heat pump that you can hear operating and see the efficiencies gained via the range in cold climates

Great Video! I'm so torn between S and X... I ordered a 22" S simply for the looks and range but coming from an SUV currently... I can't decide. Are you leaving S for X? What advice can you offer? Thanks again!
If you have a family the X is ideal. If you don't have kids then consider the S. Also if you prefer sitting up high vs low get the X or S respectively.
We have both the S and X so we are fortunate to have the best of both worlds with kids. The decision is whether to upgrade the 2020 X to the 2022 X.

@@BlackTesla 2022 6 Set MSM Plaid with black interior did not go for the FSD (YET). Had an S I traded that did, I felt it was not worth 12K at this point in time.

Thanks, not sure the timeline but I suspect it has to wait Giga Berlin to ramp up production plus regulations to pass the yoke.

Hows the sound system compared to the older models or even Model 3 and y?
Better than both, however, cabin size may impact your opinion. 3/Y have smaller cabins do speakers are closer which may impact your opinion.

Well, you've integrated the channel ;-) I'm NOT crazy about the yoke steering wheel there, many agree that it's awkward for daily driving. And yeah I'd prefer it in black too.

@@BlackTesla You're no doubt right. I noticed that the turning radius seems reduced so the need for overhand turning in a parking lot might be a lot less of an issue than I imagine.
New to the channel. Was scheduled to pick up my new LR Model X today and was told one day before pick up that the vehicle didn't pass quality control at the delivery center. Apparently it came from Fremont with a bunch of problems including body issues. This is just makes me concerned about quality issues. I wish I had the option wait like you until the "bugs" are worked out. When I do take delivery I am going to go over the vehicle to make sure there are no major issues. Can you give me ( and your viewers) in your opinion some of the issues that have come up in the past that I should definitely pay attention to? Like for example this shuddering on acceleration that you talk about. Anything else?
Thanks for watching. You'll want to look out for panel alignment internally and externally. The shudder issue of CV joint issue shouldn't be an issue but if it is it likely won't show until you drive it for a while. You want to listen for an squeaks and rattles from the interior. Lastly you want to pay attention to your drivers side door to make sure that it closes easily when ajar and it's not rubbing the front window seals. Regards!
@@BlackTesla thanks for your reply. This will be my 4th Tesla. Every one I have owned had squeaks. The best way to fix the squeaks is turn up the music 🎶 on the car stereo which is excellent btw. If not the squeaks will drive you mad 😡. Panels and door malalignments are minor and be easily fix. I'm really concerned about the shuddering... I hope that the delay in production was to fix that issue once and for all.

Hi great review as always sir Ive been watching you a while now as I wait for my own MXP ordered in the UK but not expected delivery until 2023 :-( With the build quality being a concern with both the S and X ...will Tesla adjust any alignment/gap issues highlighted on delivery ? Keep up the great work and thanks for honest and informative video's
Thanks for watching and congrats on the MXP! The wait is the hardest part but it will definitely be worth it, an amazing car.
In terms of build quality let's hope that they can refine the production of these cars by the time it gets to the UK. Any build quality issues that are present Tesla is more than willing to fix them at no charge to customers, that's why I say "I'm not mad at it", or "it's not that big of a deal". That's because I know Tesla will fix it and make it right. Build quality issues at this price point are totally unacceptable but as long as they are fixed at no additional cost other than time I am accepting of that.

Yeah a bummer, we wanted 5 seat plaid but maybe that might change by the end of the year.
Do not like that they’ve gone with standard black seatbelts with a red plug, instead of the white on white on white, clean monochromatic (2017)
White seat belts would stain too easy and forever be an off-white in comparison to the actual seats, I think that's generally why you don't see white belts in the industry.
Are there 4 isofix or 2 isofix for baby carseat?

Unfortunately I have the shudder issue on the refresh LR… going 4/1 for service…. it’s slight and def not as bad as older models but still…. It has 100 miles on it…. Shouldn’t have any shudder
Yes just recently talked to an engineer from Tesla who informed me that they didn't in fact fix the issue BUT they do have some new parts that fix the issue once it appears 😖. Please visit your service center and ask them to order the new parts for the cv joints because you have the shudder.

can‘t understand why they ditched the 7-seater.. or why there is no HUD.
They didn't ditch it just not available for Plaid. Long Range has 5,6,7 seats. May have to do with the dual rear motor. I can say the Plaid S has a higher rear area behind the seats likely the same issue.

If you have kids or prefer to be higher then go for the X. If you like being low and more agile, and need even more gut punching speed get the S.

Aargh, in the rear seats there are still no armrests, no handles over the doors, and no pockets on the seatbacks in front of you. I may defect to Hyundai!
None of those, handles on the doors is unnecessary and reduces the risk of kids accidentally opening the doors so not an issue. Pockets behind the seats for storage and armrests are a huge miss though.
@@BlackTesla I meant the handle above the door, where the door meets the roof. What are these called? They’re crucial for getting in and out if you are disabled and need to use a transfer board.
