  • In this video we'll show you how to create and use a Windows 10 bootable USB Recovery Drive. A recovery drive is highly recommended, as it can be used to repair and/or recover your PC if you have a hardware failure or if Windows just won't start up. And because it contains a full copy of Windows 10, you can use it to reinstall Windows again if you ever need to.
Windows Know How provides simple, step-by-step tech tips, tricks and tutorials on how to get the most from Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system. Here's just some of the things you'll learn with our channel:
    • How to navigate Windows faster, whether you're using the mouse, keyboard or touch with Tablet Mode.
    • How to customize how Windows looks and sounds using Themes, making it as unique and individual as you are!
    • How to boost productivity and get more done in less time with Task View, Virtual Desktops, Jump-Lists and lightning-fast Search.
    • How to work smarter with Windows 10's built-in apps like OneNote and OneDrive, so you can access your files from anywhere and from any device.
    • How to optimize Windows 10 for speed, security and stability in order to make it faster, safer and more responsive.
    • How to back up and restore your personal files using the built-in set-and-forget backup tools and never lose any precious data again.
    • How to find and fix system problems using Windows 10’s built-in troubleshooting, repair, restore, reset and recovery tools.

In the BIOS, once you select USB to be first in the boot process, all you need to do is "Save and Exit" the BIOS. It should automatically reboot and the Windows installation process will start.

I created a Recovery USB for a Windows 10, Dell latitude 7480 laptop.
The storage size used by Windows 10 to create a Recovery USB was close to 10 GB.
It took Windows 10 a good 1-2 hours of writing to the USB to complete the recovery USB.

Same, but it took around 10-15 mins for my windows 11 and it was around 7gb, and now my windows startup has got corrupted finally with some corruption and deletion of files from system32, alas. So, how can I recover my win11 from my pen drive where the win11 backup is copied?

This is hard to reply to since I am not looking at your computer, not knowing the exact problems your facing and this RUclips comment area is not good for that sort of Q&A.
There are different steps depending on what computer brand you have (ie: Dell or HP, etc) because many computer manufacturers provide restore utilities specific to the computer using Windows backup and restore functions, and have their own steps using their own preinstalled tools. - if this is the case, search the manufacturers support website for instructions.
The other issue here is I could give you a short-list to webpages that explain the process, but alas, RUclips as screwed everyone on that by censoring any comments that have
L-I-N--KS (which is why I wrote it that way).
Go to Google and search for restoring using as restore USB or if you don't have a Restore USB, but backed up an image of your Windows on a USB, then search for those specific steps in Windows, because their are many steps and many places on the web provide screenshots to assist.

Hey! I really need your help. My laptop had some VERY important files on it and it randomly shut down. It won’t start now. The windows logo just flashes on and off and the screen goes blank. I consulted two professionals and they told me to do the USB recovery method. However, they said ALL DATA on my laptop will be lost in the process. I really cannot afford for that to happen. I’m your video, you mentioned there is an option to restore files. Will that work for me? I have not yet made the recovery USB on an another device.
Your help could really get me out of a lot of trouble. Thank you!

So when I load the USB boot menu, it asks which keyboard I use.. then proceeds to show these options: "Continue, Use a Device, Troubleshoot, Turn off PC". As the video says to do, I choose Troubleshoot. In that menu, there does not exist a reset PC option. The options are: "Startup Repair, CMD, Uninstall Updates, UEFI Firmware Settings, System Restore, and System Image Recovery". I tried the last two options as they seem to be the closest to factory resetting windows, but these only let me load from a previous recovery point, which I don't have any. Additionally, I tried to "Use a Device" at the main menu and selected my USB recovery disk, which was created from another windows PC, all just to restart the PC and send me back to that same menu.. Help please.

Yeaaah. So it's the second time I got to the blue screen. First time fixed it somehow and made a recovery drive on an old USB after I got back up and running. Today it's back to blue screen after most recent Microsoft update & restart. Pulled out that USB thinking I was smart. Def not. Can't boot. Can't remove upgrades without another error. Says efi file is corrupted or something. Booted from every part allowed in bios. Dont get to any other screen besides the error code 0x000000e & bios. Even bought easeUS last year.. waste

Failed on creating. Figures... windows has been a hell week from boot looping to now can't even make a recovery. Why can't they put this recovery option on the damn win 10 usb? Nope just setup files which are boot looping themselves

I thought recovery drive was supposed to fix existing installed copy of windows without changing apps or files. But, all it does is reset(which it tells is recover drive by reinstalling windows and deleting all apps and files) which is dumb. I would simply format and reinstall windows again by installation bootable drive instead of this dumb so called recovery feature. Recover = Reset (but with deletion of apps and files) = way better to reinstall windows manually than this dumb way of giving false relief that it will be recovered. Just have said reset drive/format & reinstall drive. If anything occurs then get ready to lose all the apps and probably files to, well that is Windows OS in general for you guys.

as of 2023 and beyond, this does NOT work when transfering from old pc to new pc!! the only way is to swap the ssd or if they use different ssd's is to use the FREE mini tool partition wizard to copy and migrate your windows!!! this recovery tool sucks when trying to image the desktop icons without having to redownload,, 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
