Then when I let it do it’s thing it kept saying preparing for automatic repairs and I’ve tried so many solutions but none would work. I can still boot to the bios. @@derangeddoffy Ok I'm not real sure where you in the process so have you already made your flash drive with windows 10 on it? If so you would want it plugged in before you started your pc then you would go into your bios and change the boot order so that the flash drive is what your pc boots to.
Hello, I wanted to reset my laptop,so i followed the basic steps of going into settings and simply clean the drive, but to my surprise after the reset my laptop wasn't working properly, it wasn't going beyond the welcome screen. Thank you for mentioning to remove the flash drive. I got stuck on that before. Also wanted to add that the otions with "N" after them are for different regions. They don't include Windows Media Player and other features involving music or video.
Got the dreaded "reboot and select proper boot device" tried everything on the internet to try and fix with no effect. Just decided to reinstall windows and this video definetly helped me with the installation process, as I don't do this all the time, very helpful tutorial!

I've built a number of systems over the past 10+ years and was always leery of using flash drive to install Win system. The next item I'd be interested in is updating BIOS on motherboard, my early education in builds always pointed out the BIOS update on MOBO could render it useless. Just finished following these very clear and concise steps to fix my pc which was stuck in a repair bootloop and refusing to load windows. Managed to figure out which hard drive was which so I installed the os to the correct one and my pc is back up and running with a fresh window install. Thank you so much for posting this. I bought a Dell 8940 XPS a couple of months ago from Amazon. The PC was configured with an I7 CPU, 64GB RAM, a 1 terabyte hard drive and a 2 terabyte SSD drive. I'm disabled and use Dragon Naturally Speaking a lot so I figured this PC would be plenty fast and powerful enough to handle the dictation software and all the other programs I run. FYI, I bought the new pc to replace a ten-year-old dell XPS that also had an Intel i7 chip and was running Windows 7(Windows 7 being that OS I would take if I could have only one). Also had 12 gigs of RAM so it was a very fast machine. Unfortunately, it's hard drive failed as did the DVD burner so I figured it was time to get a whole new pc. Unfortunately, when the new PC was delivered, I discovered the OS was installed on the hard drive rather than the SSD drive. I was so PO'd when I found this out. I didn't want to return the PC, so I started looking into what my options were to get Windows 10 on the SSD.. I read articles about cloning hard drives which sounded like an option. I was really hoping to get the SSD drive that was installed in the machine replaced by one with Win 10 loaded on it. Problem is, by the time I contacted the Amazon Marketplace seller that built the machine, my 30-day return window was up and there wasn't much they could do for me. But one of their tech support reps did tell me it was pretty easy to install Windows 10 on the SSD drive using a USB thumb drive. He sent me the Microsoft link to use and so I started researching the subject and your video was the first I saw and it's great! Very informative! I do have one question. When I asked the tech support rep about how the OS license key is handled, he said it's probably stored on the machine and when I run the install process, windows will locate the license key itself. Will this still happen if I choose to install a local user profile rather than a user profile through microsoft.com? I'm assuming it will but just want to be sure. By the way, this process seems a little easier than cloning a hard drive, at least from the videos on cloning I saw. is it easier? search for your hardware on google and download the drivers provided by the brand. If you are talking about the windows 10 drivers it will download automatically once you are connected to the internet

You are a God send. I'd like to add though you don't actually need a key for windows 10. You just won't have the customization capabilities gor backgrounds and Taskbar. Nothing major happens at all. Compared to the old operating systems. It's totally doable.

MS-DOS 6.22 I enjoyed that. Probably the last OS I actually enjoyed learning and scripting. Limited, obviously, and you had to know what you were doing, but it did what you needed it to do all from a simple command line. Files could be copied between computers using LAPLink, and a 386DX or 486 could play doom without Windows 3.1/3.11 being installed (how very important is that!) Anyway, thanks for the video. Very well done, nicely paced, good content.
The tutorial was awesome but I hope people read this before trying it. If you are impatient like me, you may get ahead of the video during some steps that seem obvious. Well, I did this and at 5:38 he mentioned that it would wipe out your data right after i had already clicked "next". So yeah, if you are impatient and skip through some parts you might make the same mistake as me and lose some data like I did
i was having a problem with dwm.exe causing my gpu usage to be at 60-100% just while being idle on my desktop lol, but i eventually came to the conclusion the only fix was to fresh install via usb. i used a hard drive instead of a flash drive but still worked like a charm👍🏼👍🏼

You can also leave the allocation size default. I tend to choose NTFS format as it allows larger files but either will work.

Every time I get to the stage where you have to select the usb (4:48) I doesn’t show me any of that it just try’s to download it to my main drive and I don’t have enough space on my main drive

it actually skips right over the part where I am having a problem. I had to do a million of these, got burnt out, got covid, trying to get back into the swing of things, but its not working. Too bad the tech is from when Bitcoin was born.
Just finished following these very clear and concise steps to fix my pc which was stuck in a repair bootloop and refusing to load windows. Managed to figure out which hard drive was which so I installed the os to the correct one and my pc is back up and running with a fresh window install. Even has my old c drive files in a windows.old folder so all is not lost. Thank you so much for your helpful video! Saved me dragging my gaming rig to a repair shop! #subbed.
Please Notice it's urgent🙏 I had created bootable installation media on USB to enter in WinRe to repair system. But repair didn't worked so I need to reinstall Windows. But I want to keep my data and files. And I have c,d,f,e,g,h,x drives and windows is on G drive and I want to keep the data of c,d,ef,h drives so what should I select while reinstall . Also before creating bootable USB do I need to set it to NTFS ? Please reply
You may want to unplug all your other drives except your G drive. This will make the selection easier. Set G drive to NTFS.

When. going into the boot menu to try and boot from the usb stick it and after selecting UEFI it tells me The avalable devices will not change until a reboot. Please help. Thanks

Thank you so much for posting this. I bought a Dell 8940 XPS a couple of months ago from Amazon. The PC was configured with an I7 CPU, 64GB RAM, a 1 terabyte hard drive and a 2 terabyte SSD drive. I'm disabled and use Dragon Naturally Speaking a lot so I figured this PC would be plenty fast and powerful enough to handle the dictation software and all the other programs I run. FYI, I bought the new pc to replace a ten-year-old dell XPS that also had an Intel i7 chip and was running Windows 7(Windows 7 being that OS I would take if I could have only one). Also had 12 gigs of RAM so it was a very fast machine. Unfortunately, it's hard drive failed as did the DVD burner so I figured it was time to get a whole new pc.
Unfortunately, when the new PC was delivered, I discovered the OS was installed on the hard drive rather than the SSD drive. I was so PO'd when I found this out. I didn't want to return the PC, so I started looking into what my options were to get Windows 10 on the SSD.. I read articles about cloning hard drives which sounded like an option. I was really hoping to get the SSD drive that was installed in the machine replaced by one with Win 10 loaded on it. Problem is, by the time I contacted the Amazon Marketplace seller that built the machine, my 30-day return window was up and there wasn't much they could do for me. But one of their tech support reps did tell me it was pretty easy to install Windows 10 on the SSD drive using a USB thumb drive. He sent me the Microsoft link to use and so I started researching the subject and your video was the first I saw and it's great! Very informative!
I do have one question. When I asked the tech support rep about how the OS license key is handled, he said it's probably stored on the machine and when I run the install process, windows will locate the license key itself. Will this still happen if I choose to install a local user profile rather than a user profile through microsoft.com? I'm assuming it will but just want to be sure.
By the way, this process seems a little easier than cloning a hard drive, at least from the videos on cloning I saw. is it easier? Thanks again and any other info you feel might be helpful is greatly appreciated!

It all started with just trying to upgrade to windows 11, then it just snowballed into a huge bunch of problems until some how I end up completely reinstalling windows 10. Thanks for the help.

What type of drivers?
search for your hardware on google and download the drivers provided by the brand. If you are talking about the windows 10 drivers it will download automatically once you are connected to the internet

Pro tip: Your laptop has to be connected to a power outlet for this to work. If not, it will just continue the boot loop over and over again

You are a God send. I'd like to add though you don't actually need a key for windows 10. You just won't have the customization capabilities gor backgrounds and Taskbar. Nothing major happens at all. Compared to the old operating systems. It's totally doable.

Thanks Man. I had the BSOD and had to install a new version of windows and this video helped alot. Just a note, your advice works with a USB Type-C/OTG Card Reader & Writer and a Microsdxc card with 64GB on it.

I enjoyed that. Probably the last OS I actually enjoyed learning and scripting. Limited, obviously, and you had to know what you were doing, but it did what you needed it to do all from a simple command line.
Files could be copied between computers using LAPLink, and a 386DX or 486 could play doom without Windows 3.1/3.11 being installed (how very important is that!)

The tutorial was awesome but I hope people read this before trying it. If you are impatient like me, you may get ahead of the video during some steps that seem obvious. Well, I did this and at 5:38 he mentioned that it would wipe out your data right after i had already clicked "next". So yeah, if you are impatient and skip through some parts you might make the same mistake as me and lose some data like I did

For some reason I don’t see an unallocated space
i was having a problem with dwm.exe causing my gpu usage to be at 60-100% just while being idle on my desktop lol, but i eventually came to the conclusion the only fix was to fresh install via usb. i used a hard drive instead of a flash drive but still worked like a charm👍🏼👍🏼
