Hey everyone! Just a heads up, this was streamed about 3 months ago so some stuff is outdated in terms of what models you should pick up for the army. So leave some comments down below to help out newer players!
Maybe you should do a monthly video or something to update the information? Would be pretty handy for new players to keep up with everything!

Yea don’t buy tau this edition unless you want to lose every game
So as a (relatively new to 40k) Necron player that focusses on smaller games these are the models I recommend:
-Canoptek Doom-stalker: hits on 4s and is pretty random when it comes to damage but is really tanky and a great heavy support choice.
-Everything from the recent starter sets (skorpekh destroyers, warriors, overlord, scarabs) these boxes also offer immense value especially if you can split it with a marine player.
As for a second hq choice it really depends on what kind of army your making
-I personally run a royal warden that can teleport warriors with the veil of darkness
-If you got a lot of canoptek units go for a technomancer.
-Destroyer lord is great for a melee focused destroyer army.
I also heard tomb blades are good and if you play bigger games get a c'tan (they recommended the void dragon and though it is an awesome model night bringer is one of the scariest models you have.

Me holding the current tau codex: Everyone pray for my son, nothing is wrong with him he just sucks
Tau were nerfed in like 8 directions at once in 9th edition:
-Board is smaller so taus long range means less
-no fall back and shoot with fly units
-shield drones go up to 15 points
-game becomes about swinging objectives, tau cant clear an objective and take it the same turn.
-Dense cover makes a army made for shooting incredibly unreliable.
@@21526 and that's not talking about the inherent problems of tau.
They only get to play for one phase of any turn, their shooting is mediocre for an army that does nothing but shoot, they have literally one unit that's point efficient, most of the playerbase hate them.
I would settle for tau being below average, as it stands you're literally accepting defeat by playing them unless you play the one viable army, and even then you're just barely playable.

@@PeterParker-sm7ff I genuinely think that was a misatake on the rules teams part. I get not wanting drone spam but double the points of some drones if you take them on their own is insane.
one thing I didn't hear you talk about: model quality. most of these armies haven't had any updates in 10+ years. it's like the GW itself hates them
they don't sell as much as primaris, so they don't pay them as much attention, thus creating a self fulfilling prophecy
@@bcoyne12345 I think overall, most of the xenos models actually hold up quite well. The only problems I see are a few of the big Tyranid monsters, the aspect warriors, and some of the Ork characters and vehicles. Otherwise I think they’re in a good place.
@@RiceBenderson I play eldar and cant afford multiple armies so when I am forced to buy 20 year old models to build a good list then i have a right to complain lol especially when said models are finecast...
@@bcoyne12345 I never said you couldn’t explain. I was saying that in my personal opinion, most of the xenos models were decent. And I did mention that the aspect warriors as some of the the models that did not hold up.
@@RiceBenderson True, and a fair point. I just think its so feelsbad to play xenos and it just makes me resent GW for their favouritism. I do like the aesthetic of the eldar, but the production methods available to GW today are far superior to 15-20 years ago and it just sucks that they put all their effort into marine releases. The necron update and the new Jain zar/howling banshees gives me hope but it will probably be years before we see a line overhaul on the scale of the necron one

@@Colton_T the only other option is to delete them completely. I mean, Tau are in the lowest tier possible right now, if they don't better them in any way with the new codex they're just outright making Tau unplayable

So, helmet wise on CWE.. they are tolkien elven helms. Long and pointed. The bowling pin helm is on a construct (robot). Basically, to play CWE you have to play mechanized.
Yeah it's either Wraiths or some BS mega meta super stacked list you need in order to win.
Suffice to say its not that interesting for casual games.

Also there is one more Eldar faction but unfortunately there are no rules or models for them and they are called the Exodites. Basically they are Eldar who recognized their races weakness and were able to predict the fall of the Eldar race and so they basically exiled themselves from Eldar society and inhabit worlds on the very fringes of space. They shed off basically all the advanced technology and live lives basically as farmers because they think working for ones own survival on harsh worlds brings about a healthy spirit that can resist the calls of the One who Thirsts basically. Aesthetically speaking just imagine a fire prism but instead of a vehicle its a fire prism gun strapped to the back of a Dinosaur like creature.
On the plus side they can be proxied without guilt, and if you are in a group who like older editions then it's good times.
The only reason the Ultramarines have so much plot armor is because all of the orks think that the blue armor makes them lucky.
Just wanna say, Nightbringer over void dragon. As a non necron player the nightbringer is the scariest model in the game to me
The moulded look is so much better than the mechanical, like they're meant to be gods made material, not just standard Necron compound.

Cult touch a wide range of stuff. There's a cult entirely dedicated to bring a proletarian revolution to the forgeworlds of the Mechanicum. Another is actually one of the main source of industrial power of the Imperium. Another make Pilgrimage to Hive Tiamat , not to get eaten, but to hang out with the Hive Mind.

Even gameplay wise people don't know them. They go further then just deployment shenanigan. First of all, they are actually a horde army. They are also super combo heavy. You need to plan huge combo to multiply your strength using lots of CP.
I wish people took the time to learn about them. But I guess they are a really fringe army.

What I love is this channel started about the same time I got into 40K and it makes it so easy to understand a bit of everything. They give quality information on a lot and I’m hoping that Bricky in the near future gives some insight on the Necrons and what are good/decent/great and bad.
Drukhari and Necrons player here! Drukhari are so fun as they are like the coenobites of the 40K universe especially the flesh cult. Necrons are terminators mixed with Egyptians and robot wars, enough said! Can’t wait for the new Lilith model, Drukhari are possibly the hardest to paint army ever, it’s so hard to build and paint them. Although the newer units are better.

After that maybe:

The Ork story was in an older book, the gaurdsmen yelled DAkka dakka and it was a single grot that killed them all, jumps out of the trench "Tanka Tanka Tanka" my favourite bit of law
Best Ork Story - Great Titan Hiest. Squad of Ork Kommandoz sneak into a hive city and take over a Titan. The machine spirit realizes there are xenos in side and goes nuts trying to kill them. The titan ends up smashing up the entire city and then self detonating to kill the orks. Best day ever!
Wait, wouldnt that mean most if not all their machinery shouldn't work because the machine spirits inside don't like xenos? Same goes for Ta'u and such?

Kinda feel like Tau weren’t explained very well. One special thing that I think was left out was how Tau are only faction that allow and ally themselves with other races. On the tabletop, this means Alien Auxiliaries such as Kroot and Vespids. Also, for a shooting army, they have an almost 4+ army wide Ballistic Skill, so synergies and abilities like Markerlights are very central to a strong Tau list. Tau are also laughably bad in melee, but people are running more and more close range lists, with units that have things like shotguns that make you glow blue and then explode (Breacher Teams) and Commanders with melta swords (Fusion Blades). 9th Edition’s focus on close range has put them in a rough spot (they’re pretty terrible), but this isn’t to say they’re unplayable. Also for starting Tau, there’s way more people selling their old Tau armies now that they’re not top tier, so it’s definitely not a bad time to start. Great video, amazing editing and lots of laughs too!

Wait a minute didn't The Eldar and the krorks basically scare the Necrons into hiding? After the War in the Heavens and defeat of C'tan they couldn't handle the Old One's creation and hid from them?
I think that the Enslavers where the reason the Necrons decided to go to sleep. The universe was swarming with Enslavers everywhere and the C'tan together with the Necrons(or not, I am not sure if they shattered the C'tan before or after hiding from the Enslavers) decided to wait for most psykers to die off and the Enslavers to retreat. But after that the universe was pretty much empty and dead (if they didn't before now is where they shattered the C'tan) and the Necrons decided to go to sleep and wait for the universe to repopulate.

For craft world Eldar you forgot to mention that Dark Reapers are probably some of the best space marine killers out there while a lot of their army may be lacking now the reapers don't screw around
