  • Hi sew-friends! In today’s video, I’m sharing how I store my pdf patterns both digitally and physically. PDF patterns can become cumbersome after being printed out and I get asked all the time how I store them. I’ve been using this method for more years than I can remember and I hope that these tips are helpful for you.

I trace mine on medical table paper and fold it and place it in a 5x8 envelope. I then put the picture of it in a plastic sleeve and in a binder.

Great ideas, thanks for the insights.
All of my patterns are on my hard drive - in folders, not got the sub folder totally organised like you though :D - and then backed up daily, that way I am not going to lose them, or if a crash happens, I can revert back to the day previous back up.
I have a bag that I made storing my bought patterns, and I was thinking of making a sleeve with a copy of the picture of the pattern on the front and then writing the size on there.
Might end up getting a box of some sort to house all of mine in :)

At this time I have only one and still using it but I plan to hang on shower rings - labeled of course as I do hacked patterns. etc. I have enough room so far but like both your digital and physical ideas. For the rings I punch holes first as centered as possible.

That's a great idea. I actually do hang a few of my patterns. Just the ones that I'm currently working on and potentially going to be using a lot. I hold them together with a binder clip and then slip that over a hanger.

trouser/skirt hangers are a great way to clip them to a hanger too!

I store my digital files the exact same way. I sort them on Google Drive by tops/bottoms/outfits/dresses/outerwear and undies.

I don’t like mine folded. I hang mine from a closet rod.
