    Excellent tuition,One of the best explainations of the driver swing I have seen. I tried the tip with the shoulder and hit my driver long and straight, and I am 72 years of age.

    There’s lot of great stuff in here. However, because there’s so much information I think your videos would benefit a lot from a summary at the end with key takeaways/drills for each tip.

    Interesting very well done. First time I have heard of hitting the ball at 4 o'clock. It helped to simplify things a little bit more concerning properly swinging the driver. Also like the quiet left shoulder aspect, it about being smooth.

    Matt once again another excellent video on the driver swing. The two major points I picked out were hitting the ball from 4 o’clock, which means you have made contact with the ball from the correct position. Secondly the point about your lead shoulder only moving 6 inches. Please thank your dad for an excellent video, which was very well explained. I will practice the drill with the tees in the ground and always hitting from the inside.

    One driving range session, I had over 20 broken tees for maybe 30 swings. Was actually my first time swinging a club in something like 15 years. After that, I switched to some different tees with some plastic forgiveness in them and had one tee last almost all summer...didn't break until I was hitting balls in 30F temps one day. haha. But, I really need to practice that drill, along with that 4 O Clock drill. I slice a lot, sometimes REALLY bad. I've recorded a few times with the driver and do think I come down too steep. I struggle with getting that consistency down.

    MATT , your vid on wedges . and sand play . well ive put the wedge play into operation the results are stunning first 2 rds I duffed 4 the last 2 rds only one in each by that I mean they dropped short. SO HOW DO I HIT THE WEDGE TO GO FURTHER WITHOUT PULLING IT ? PAUL THANKS

  • @paulh.s2572
    @paulh.s2572 4 года назад

    Hello , paul here . I notice your stance is not that wide is that how power comes or do you need extra wide stance to gain this power. I am not being big headed but I can hit the driver off any tee height from yellow castle white pink orange castle tees . best shots come off white castle tees especially into wind. I have a Cobra F Max red draw and it was brand new last August 2019 from October 2019 it has stayed in a bag at home because I have no idea where the ball will go off the tee. I did buy a £60 Cobra F 7 ajustable driver AND HAVE FOUND IF I SET IT UP BELOW THE CENTRE MARKER I FIND THE F'WAY EVERY TIME AGAIN ANY TEE HIEGHT . Some say I'm a big hitter but at 64 yrs 240 yards drive is not a big hitter in my opinion.

    I try to keep my grip pressure very firm to retain control over the club face but have my arms fairly loose so I can generate a fast swing. If both are loose the shot will go all over the place. And if the arms are firm, not enough club head speed will be generated.

    Watched this just now and noticed that you held your breath when you swung through the ball. At least I didn't hear you exhale when you hit it and I definitely heard you inhale when you took the club back. It seems that you would keep a lot of tension in your shoulders and chest that would transfer to your arms if you don't exhale on acceleration through the ball. Its all about being relaxed and not tense which folks tend to get when addressing the ball for some reason. Anyways good vid. thanks

    with my drives I address the ball as required. Just before I start my back swing I slightly stretch the club so that the ball is slightly past the clubhead centre. When I do that I usually hit a reasonable drive, but sometimes I over extend and hit a pull hook or if I under extend I slice it. How can I reach the happy medium. (which is nt very often)

    Shoulder wont lead the swing if your right elbow and you shallow out your back swing, which give you an in to out swing.
