Yup. Early on when they were first starting out they already had ideas of including pyrotechnics in their live shows, but the venues they were able to play at that time simply couldn't afford to accommodate them or otherwise didn't have any qualified pyrotechs on hand. So they said fuck it. We'll do it ourselves.

They filled Soldier Field in Chicago, I had the tickets for over 2yrs because the concert kept getting postponed due to covid. Literally over 60k people, and they dead stopped the music in the middle of Du Hast, hearing all those people singing in the stadium is a memory I'll have for a lifetime.
the irony of an olympically trained swimmer loving fire (Till Lindemann the singer was an olympic swimmer for East Germany when that was a thing) is truly delightful. he is also trained and licensed in pyrotechnics they do most of their live shows at outside venues. welcome to Rammstein.
If it's Rammstein, and it's a live show, something will be on fire. I haven't had the privilege of attending one of their concerts, but they are considered the best. And their official music videos, especially in more recent years, are of cinematic quality. Expect a few minutes of reading the credits at the end of them. Vocalist Till Lindenman's baritone is really wonderful, and he's even published books of poetry. The keyboardist, known as Flake, is such a walking enthusiast that he uses a treadmill at the keyboard for these concerts.
I found out the day after they were playing 4 miles from were I live as the show had been cancelled a couple of times due to covid. I of 2 shows in the UK absolutely gutted
I was lucky enough to see them live in 2011 in Phoenix. I wish they came to the US more often. But it was the best show I've ever seen. Great reaction again. Thanks
The wing assembly weighs something like 50 kg, 110 lbs in old money, and pushes the center of weight quite a ways back. The strain in the voice comes from singing loudly during the exertion of carrying and centering that weight, which makes this performance quite unique.
This is why we love Rammstein. Many bands get to a point in their careers where they're just going through the motions because they feel they no longer need to win people over. Rammstein on the other hand, gives every show 100%. Even after all these years, they're still giving their fans everything they have and that's why there will never be another band like them.
6:30 i love that "the keyboard man is my soul" Flake, aka Christian Lorenz, actually seems to be real shy. he likes to do poetry and usually has to fight his stuttering it is so incredible to me how different the "Rammstein experience" is to what the individual members are, and yes, even Till just to say: there are so many layers beyond, even though the first layer already seems to be crazy on its own.
And be sure to watch a live performance of the classic song "Rammstein" ( ruclips.net/video/6IuGu_-K7gQ/видео.html ). As someone knowing one of the survivors of that incident since childhood, the lyrics give me the creeps...
Where there's Rammstein, there's fire 😂😂😂 I have been a fan of the guys for almost three decades now, and their music ages like fine wine. Great reaction Love from Germany
I simply love watching the 'first reactions' of other musicians, vocal coaches, etc. to Rammstein. It reveals so much that has been known to others in the band's 30-year history :-)"
I always love finding a new person reacting to Rammstein. I especially love your enthusiasm while watching them. I absolutely can't wait for you to react to more Rammstein and see what you think of them. Also I can't wait for your Spiritbox reaction as well!
The last and the best show I visited before the lockdown and the war was Rammstein. Had a ticket for one more but was unable to attend due to obvious reasons. They do love their fireworks :) I was in the middle of the crowd open air and when those flames kicked in it felt warm even 100 meters from the stage. Can't imagine the heat ON the stage! Cool reaction, keep up :)
I really enjoy watching your facial expressions as well especially when you like something you get a big smile, keep up the great reactions, I suggested one in another comment 🤪
@@rayactions It was a real treat to watch your reactions over the course of the video. Lyrics can be disturbing with Rammstein - Not with this song though. You should always look them up, they are important. You will not find the typical: "I love her so much / oh why did she leave me" kind of song with Rammstein. With some of the songs they are hard to translate because of double meanings, allusions, german figures of speech and so on of which they use a ton.
Yeah, absolutely. They make heavy use of word play and several layers of meanings and intentional ambiguity. Even for a native speaker like me its not so easy to fully grasp whats hidden in the lyrics on the first take. They really put an effort into their lyrics, as with the rest of their performance. They were intense when I got to know them around the mid 90s ("Asche zu Asche" was the first song i heard from them) and they just kept getting better and better... wow
I promise, seing Rammstein live is an experience! I saw them back in 2016 and last year, and they're absolutely amazing. I'm seing them again in June and I'm so excited!
Without any doubt, these concerts are absolutely epic. Each and every concert. The videos they produce are unbelievable pieces of art. Textual, musically/audio as visual feasts. The pinnacles of these days art. ‘Zeit’ and (piano) ‘Mein Hertz Brent’ absolute masterpieces.
I finally got to see Rammstein in Cardiff stadium last year, best show I've ever been to. They used so many pyrotechnics people thought the stadium had caught fire 😂
I was at the Coventry UK show in June 2022 and the energy of the show is amazing. They did a piano version of Engel, which was magical. Made me cry afterwards.
I've been a fan of Rammstein for 25-plus years now they released their first album in 1995 titled, Herzeleid which in English is Heartbreak. Here are Rammstein's Engel lyrics in English. [Verse 1] Who in their lifetime is good on Earth Will become an angel after death You look to the sky and ask Why can't you see them [Chorus] Only once the clouds have gone to sleep Can you see us in the sky We are afraid and alone Because God knows I don't want to be an angel [Verse 2] They live behind the sunshine Separated from us, infinitely far They must cling to the stars (Very tightly) So they don't fall from the sky [Chorus] Only once the clouds have gone to sleep Can you see us in the sky We are afraid and alone Because God knows I don't want to be an angel God knows I don't want to be an angel God knows I don't want to be an angel [Bridge] [Chorus] Only once the clouds have gone to sleep Can you see us in the sky We are afraid and alone Because God knows I don't want to be an angel God knows I don't want to be an angel God knows I don't want to be an angel God knows I don't want to be an angel God knows I don't want to be an angel

0:15 About 20k capacity, they play in stadiums of 50k+ usually 😁 Engel is one of those legendary songs that's always great to hear and always triggers me to sing along. Just like Mein Herz Brennt and Du Hast. I think most Rammstein fans feel the same. Have to say their live performance are always crazy as well, and hot with a lot of pyro effects. Few years ago I was sitting all the way on the other side of the stadium and when the pyro near the stage went off even where I was it was hot as hell 😅 Rammstein is pronounced like ramstine by the way 🙂
Rammstein always puts on a massive show, every show is an experience. Till is a qualified pyrotechnician so he designs all their Pyro for the set, including the wings. Just another amazing show from one of the best live bands going around
Love the reaction, holy molly. They bought the whistle and the wings. Rammstein brings the Beat but we all know the message. Love the reaction. Stay safe,🤘
Rammstein has been a favorite of mine since Sehnsucht. I'm so happy to see them having a modern resurgence with all these reaction videos. Fun Fact: Most of Till's showmanship with the pyro and weird goggles and whatnot (the distractions) are pretty much because he's shy and needs the audience focused elsewhere while he's putting on this masterclass performance. They're such an incredible band :D
They have always turned heads and put artistic integrity above self. The Fact that lead guitarist Krupse is a classically trained jazz guitarist amd chooses industrial metal guitar blows my mind.
So hard to whistle on key and on time in a live performance too! Heat and nerves/adrenalin working against you even more than singing!.. and while playing an instrument too! So glad to you hear like keyboard guys! ;) Rammstein - always spectacular!
Watched your Rammstein reactions, I have to suggest 2 more though!! Rammstein - Ich Tu Dir Weh (Madison Square Garden), and Rammstein - Deutschland (Official Music Video) Normally always suggest live versions of Rammstein songs, but the official video for Deutschland helps with the song so much. Keep it up, channel is growing quickly!
I've seen Rammstein six times, and this is one of the more tame uses of fire in their show. Back in the late 90's they used to START their shows by lighting Till Lindemann on fire and he would sing the entire opening song with flames mere millimeters from his face.
I have seen them in the 90s when they played way smaller gigs. If you managed to get somewhere close to the stage you smelled after petroleum so bad, you could not light a cigarette….
Im guessing this was your first time watching a live video by Rammstein, their live shows are literally LEGENDARY, and Till Lindemann the singer is actually a licensed pyrotechnician so thats why you see him and the rest of the band do all sorts of crazy stuff with pyro. I was lucky enough to FINALLY get to see them live in person back in 2019 and it was and Im pretty sure it forever will be THE SINGLE GREATEST show I've ever seen in my entire life!
The whole wings rig weighs around 50kg, or roughly 110lbs. So you can imagine how this strains Till's chest, back, etc, forcing him to sing right through that compression. Add to that is this song usually happens sometime in the middle or even the end of the show, so they've already been exhausted by 1-2 hours of performing. Just to put it into perspective. The lyrics of Rammstein are usually very deep, poetic, and often contain multiple meanings. It's often difficult to translate them with their multiple meanings into English, so it often happens that you only get one meaning. The context as well as the grammatical structure of a line can change the content of what is said significantly in German. Engel isn't stuffed to the brim with these double meanings (not necessarily double entendres) like so many other songs are. But the interpretation is still open depending on who is listening and what they focus on. That's the fascination of Rammstein, that they rarely if ever, declare only one interpretation to be correct. They always smile, but never confirm or deny any specific meaning. They prefer to leave that up to the listener.
It's always fun to see people's reactions to fireshow in live concert of Rammstein... Guys, just find on RUclips their '99 live concert "Live aus Berlin", there was a real fire show that they put on themselves as pyrotechnicians. Bleeding soloist's head in the Sehnsucht song, burning microphones in the song Asche zu asche, flaming bow with burning arrow to the crowd - Du reist so gut, burning soloist!!! - Rammstein song, drummer in sparks - Engel, Flake on the boat in a crowd - Seeman... You'll get an unforgettable experience.
The boardman name´s Flake Lorenz and yes, he´s very crazy but the great musician and the Till Lindeman voice is fantastic. I´ve seen their concert on two twice and I really loved it!!!!
loved the video! there's a lot of pyrotechnics in rammstein performances because the lead singer, till lindemann, is a licensed pyrotechnician in german the "ei" sound is more pronoinced as "ai" and the "st" in many cases as "sht" i think Arch Enemy would be a fun band to explore as well, "The Eagle Flies Alone" or "Reason to Believe" show Alissa's singing best imo
It's the combination of great music, fantastic performance art and some pyro stuff of the highest order. If you go to Rammstein you get the whole package. Very unique theatrical Amusement.
The only time I've seen them live was during Korn's Family Values Tour (back in '99?). For the first song, Till Lindemann (the singer) came out in what looked like a really bulky coat. Half way through the first song, they lit him on fire! Turns out it was a fire suit. So yeah, he likes fire...lol. I believe he has a pyro technics license which is why their shows have a lot of pyro.
"I gather that this man this man loves fire..." I saw them live in Mexico City, when they were still an opening act. For their introduction to the audience, the first song, with the same name as the band Rammstein, he was on fire, literally on fire for the entire song. Later they had boots with fire throwers, they shot flare lights with a bow to slowly descend over the stadium and so many other things... It was amazing. And the energy of their music, I loved it! Not need to say they stole the show. After that, the other band made their show and the audience was like "oh, you think that's pyrotechnics, how cute!"
I read somewhere they were about 50kg. The hardest part is the fact that they are so far off his centre of gravity, they try to pull him over backwards. Then as they open he has to actively change his position so he doesn't just fall forwards as the weight moves forward.
They change up the show every couple of years. Thrr we y closed with this in Vegas in 2017 but was in the middle of the set in Los Angeles last September. It gets better every time
No group puts on a “show” like Rammstein. They are about two hours of pure, pounding energy.
Yep! My sister went to Rammstein Concerts twice here in Germany and said that their shows are absolutly mindblowing.
last i saw them in gotheburg they started at 18 and ended at 23:30, my ears were pounding for a few weeks after that
And fire... don't forget fire

Rammstein should be on everyone’s bucket lists for a show
THANKS for your GREAT reaction! RRRRRAMMMSTEIN!!!!!
Always the best reaction stay how you are don't change you are truly amazing 🥰👌
Thank you so much 😁
They have always turned heads and put artistic integrity above self.
That whistle, CHILLS already from the first blow...
Have seen them 4 times and it was amazing each show. Highly recommend sitting in the hot zone.
I love watching Rammstein! It’s always a show. Till is absolute passion unleashed. As a side note, he is a certified pyrotechnician.
RAMMSTEIN RULES THANX FOR YOURE REACTION
I saw them last year in México, Oct 4th is the day I will always remember.
Saw them in Toronto about 10-11 years ago, amazing!!
Watched your Rammstein reactions, I have to suggest 2 more though!!
Rammstein - Ich Tu Dir Weh (Madison Square Garden), and
Rammstein - Deutschland (Official Music Video)
Normally always suggest live versions of Rammstein songs, but the official video for Deutschland helps with the song so much.
They prefer to leave that up to the listener.
seen them few times live, they blow you away each time!!
They are one of the best live bands to see
Great reaction. Btw i saw it LIVE in montreal, and those flames were HOT all the way back at the BELL CENTER. It was sick! best live band on earth.
The way the pillars come down at the end of the song/show is very emotional.
I waited over 16 years to see them live, and when I saw them do this, I straight up cried happy tears the entire song.
they have an English version of this song but hearing it in their native language is the best
I went to their who in Göteborg, Sweden last year. It epic, absolutely amazing!!
"This man loves fire" Well, he is a certified pyrotechnician.
They all are these days lol
The line between a pyrotechnician and a pyromaniac is very blury 😉
Til initially became a pyrotechnician because of an incident that happened in their early years
This BAND loves fire! >>> "Mein Teil" ("My part")
Saw them in Rhode Island.Amazing show.Only other concert topped it was SOAD
Glad you're getting into Rammstein. One of the best bands. I'd love to see your reaction to Stein um Stein live by Rammstain.
I was in San Antonio September 2022. Awesome show!!!!!!!!
There concerts are hands down the best show I've EVER been too
I watched them live twice! And it was hot as hell from all those fire!
What a sound, the best production ever heard
I'm just binge-watching your videos and i have to adjust my volume with every video. xD
Rammstein has some of the most insane pyrotechnics ever for stage performances - which puts them in a category of their own in my opinion
The boardman name´s Flake Lorenz and yes, he´s very crazy but the great musician and the Till Lindeman voice is fantastic. I´ve seen their concert on two twice and I really loved it!!!!
You haven´t even seen the craziest stuff yet - and LIVE - you really feel the fire :-D
loved the video!
there's a lot of pyrotechnics in rammstein performances because the lead singer, till lindemann, is a licensed pyrotechnician
in german the "ei" sound is more pronoinced as "ai" and the "st" in many cases as "sht"
i think Arch Enemy would be a fun band to explore as well, "The Eagle Flies Alone" or "Reason to Believe" show Alissa's singing best imo
It's the combination of great music, fantastic performance art and some pyro stuff of the highest order. If you go to Rammstein you get the whole package. Very unique theatrical Amusement.
Thank you... great real reaction. Sehnsucht is my favorite. Nothing like translation.
As a Fan you see him coming on the stage with those wings and you just KNOW they gonna explode sooner or later! 🤣
i barely speak any german, but i absolutely love Rammstein, the band is so damn good
I read somewhere they were about 50kg. The hardest part is the fact that they are so far off his centre of gravity, they try to pull him over backwards. Then as they open he has to actively change his position so he doesn't just fall forwards as the weight moves forward.
I was at that show...traveled from Indiana to it. Was well worth it.
“This man loves fire” hahaha that’s an understatement. 😂
Ive been to 2 Rammstein concerts. Each time I was exhausted at the end.
Rammstein is one of the best bands 🤘greetings from germany 😊
This is everyones bucket list to go to a rammstein concert
Show choreographer: how much fire do you want?
Rammstein: Yes
They change up the show every couple of years. Thrr we y closed with this in Vegas in 2017 but was in the middle of the set in Los Angeles last September. It gets better every time
He loves fire so much he trained to be a pyrotechnician and I believe he makes the equipment he uses if not have a big say in how they operate.
Every single live rammstein song is this way.
Great reaction Raya
The amount of trucks driving around with all the fireworks and scenery is beyond imagination ! 20 trucks or so for thé Hellfest once … incredible
